Before GTA Online, I'd never think Rockstar would be capable of being this incompetent. Used to be a time they put extreme detail into their games. This is honestly disgusting and this is why I don't even bother with them. The reward for all the nonsense you have to do, and the poor testing to make sure it all makes sense... calling it a waste of time is a huge understatement. Rockstar sucks at making these. It all started with the arena war rank up system, the tuner rank up system was just a tad better and now we have the ‘career’ progress. I agree with all the things you said Ghillie. I’ve been playing since day one and they really treated the OG players this badly. A toddler could have come up with better challenges and rewards 😂
Rockstar design is full of conflicting mechanics and gameplay philosophy that interacts with each other in slapdash and thoughtless ways. Every "stealth" mission is a coin flip as to whether you can take out anyone without tripping alarms, or whether bodies you have no way of moving tip off hostile patrols. Cayo Perico stealth runs have been strangled by Rockstar constantly making undisclosed nerfs, including the fact that the shift change might happen across any random body and suddenly know exactly where you are instantaneously.
Oh god the arena rank system is definitely the worst. The rusty tractor would be awesome, but they made it insufferably boring with the rank up system. I won’t ever consider going to the arena unless it’s for a glitch.
@@Revenante_of_Asylumyep. Haven’t run a Perico for at least a year now, and no plans to return. Never did it for the money in the first place. It was just fun to see how fast we could run it. 2020-2021 had me playing every single day. Those were fun times on gta.
@Ryan57Garr It was good money, but more importantly, *great* fun. Have been considering returning to it recently, seeing how it plays nowadays. Got 23 million in the tank, I can afford some inefficiency in money grinding in favor of messing around.
@SteveshiClayxui GTA stealth is just an unfinished, half cooked system. You have bodies that (might) trip the alarm, but no way to hide said bodies other than killing them in an optimal spot. You never know when even a sneaky takedown will trip the alarm, and sometimes stealth fails in the end anyway. I still enjoy stealth, feeling like a slick operative pulling off the flawless job so that no one ever saw me. But GTA makes that a rare feat, and not through actual reasonable difficulty either.
When this career progress thing was launched I took one quick look at it, saw the challenges vs. Rewards and saw that most of my progress wasn't even accounted for and I would have to do everything again, and I noped tf out of there in less than 30 seconds. Haven't opened that tab ever since and probably never will. My time and sanity are worth so much more and R* can stick it where the sun don't shine 😊
im level 925, and I couldnt agree with you more. It bugged me that all my heist progress was gone, even when I had awards for it already in the game under "awards". All elite challenges for doomsday, all casino ones, hell even cayo. As someone whose been on since day one, you hit the nail on the head, I felt shitted on.
It really is a slap in the face to us long time players. At 1182 legit Seeing that i needed to bring in 50 cars in perfect condition as if I haven't already brought in hundreds like that or having to get all the Collections again in Import Export is like them saying F*** Y** for playing the game so long.
Yeah, I've done like a quarter of these challenges already on PS3/PS4, but if they aren't going to count, I'm never completing these challenges. Hell, I don't even have 50 slots for new vehicles. Bought the new multi-level garage when it came out and it's already half filled. 😠🤬
About the pistol challenge, I think it is also worth mentioning that the phone hits also have the same problem. One of the bonus objectives that you may get is having to run over the target however, if you hit them with your car and they ragdoll THEN die, you fail the bonus.
@thuglife4k I could do that, or my vigilante works but the targets are usually spread out across the map and it takes longer, so I use my oppressor mk11. I boost into them but sometimes they don't die

Yeah, what _really_ grinds my gears with the new Career Rewards system is the absolutely lackluster "rewards" for completing them. Each tier should have *_multiple_* rewards for each categories Tier Rewards such as path-related clothing like the Diamond Strike Vest (which I still regret missing out on), as well as the Tier 4 Rewards including massive payouts, non-timed discounts for websites, or even permanent buffs for heists like the Casino Heist or Cayo Perico where each tier completed earns you a permanent chance to possibly get Diamonds/Panther Statue for the respective Heists that gets higher with each Tier completed.
What grinds my gears is that alot of what I did over the years playing this game doesnt count. I don't want to go back and grind anything Ive made hundreds of millions of dollars from.
yeah, pistol only challenges aren't worth the trouble for doing... I agree that on the tier 4 rewards should've been 500k or a million, along with an actuallly rare car (Lost Slamvan, Spacedocker, etc) that would motivate me to actually try (even though I'm solo)
A million is still too little for this, you could could do a cayo perico, which is way easier, and bam, theres your reward, a better reward would be a random chance to get diamonds (diamond casino rewards) or the panther statue (cayo perico rewards), that way not only can you always get the limited time stuff that is otherwise impossible to get, you get a reward that you wont just spend in a single day, a reward that keeps on giving, or maybe for the other there could be a take increase for the respective businesses, like mc businesses, the agency, etc

You know how there are 2 versions of the Daemon, one that's been in the game since day one, one with more customization added with the Bikers DLC. Also, the own a High End apartment one is bugged. I own a high end apartment yet the challenge just doesn’t seem to want to accept as completed. I agree with one thing you said, for completing everything with the bikers update should be a lost slimvan as our tier 4 reward. I myself just like a lot of players want the lost slimvan without trying to win it from the lucky wheel in the casino since it’s very hard to win it. At least put the Lost Slimvan on Southern San Andreas to purchase and it wouldn’t matter to me if it was priced anywhere over 1 million dollars. I can’t imagine what we could get for the Christmas update and what rewards in the career progress will be if they aren’t enticing enough to grind for.
The clothing rewards are more enticing than the vehicles (except LD Organics Van and Speedo) since the clothes are unique and can't be purchase from shops.
At this point, I just get more enjoyment watching videos of Ghillie, GTAmen, Broughy, etc. playing the game more than I like playing the game myself. I just don’t have the patience for this bullsh*t game these days.

All my years of playing and doing things like the OG heist Elties challenges that I know have to do again to get a Kurma when the original reward is one of the most unique T shirts in the game. I love how they’ve not added the Doomsday MasterMind challenge to the career rewards because of how buggy it is and they still can’t be bothered to patch it 😂
Sometimes while playing the game, I just have this feeling that the dev team at Rockstar has been so stressed that they just didn't give a fck any more about making sure game logic works properly
Rockstar probably won't fix it which is why I've quit all of their games. If it helps at all, there's a rapid fire revolver glitch you could use to kill the juggernaut with.
Dude your tone is always what makes these videos gold. I’m with you man. I’m a day 1 player. So when I saw they added these challenges, and rewards. I thought it was a great idea. Albeit, a little late, but cool. Until I actually saw what the challenges consisted of, and the reward you got for torturing yourself attempting it. I’m like NOPE! Don’t care enough. GTA isn’t even set up to do some of these challenges. At least without regretting that you ever heard of the game.
I have played daily since January of 2014. When these challenges came out, I looked at them and said, nah. I have done most of this stuff 10 times over. Not doing all this stuff again. The OG heist part is the worst for me. Both of my old crews broke up years ago. When I play now it is mostly solo. I'm good. Thanks anyway R*.

The Paragon R Armored only if you've hosted all of them, and the only way to host them is owning a Casino Penthouse. But yeah, I don't see anyone who's grinding that Tier 4 asking for a friend to host it for them every time

I agree completely. Also you know how hard it is to get a team of players to even do one setup let alone getting them to stay with you through all setups and heists. Shit is insane. Or how i had to tap a button without messing up for 5 minutes straight for a night club Stat award just to get tier 4. I will do some but fuck the rest.
The Tuners reward is Turismo classic. The Description of the Classic in that menu is copied almost word for word from the Turismo R. A DIFFERENT CAR ALTOGETHER.
I want to do the death match progress, but it would really help if I could find a death match. Everyone is just so scared of there KD being affected that they don't play them.
The nightclub Tier 4 reward is probably the worst, which is a Speedo Custom, the vehicle you start out with in the nightclub. I assume this one's a personal vehicle version, but it still makes no sense. At least make it the Pounder Custom.
Funniest thing of all….GTA modded car creators/collectors already have all of the vehicles like the cliffford Barrage and the LD organics van….so R* just incentivized people to do glitches to get them easier And players who did OTF genderswap have all the clothing unlocks as well (btw…..you have NO idea how old some of the clothing in the Career path thing are….some of them were in the game for over 3 years unreleased). These players also have all unreleased clothing and previous GTA+ exclusive clothing And, R* made the Lost Slamvan not the unlock for the MC missions was because they know that half of the community already has one from the ridiculously easy GCTF glitches from the past 4 years…..and that’s why they finally started fixing GCTF glitches regularly starting this update….just bc of this Career progress thing 😂
Oh, and all the exclusive liveries are accessible to everyone with a merge glitch…if you know what # livery it is on that vehicle (and while LSCM merge is fully patched, 2Console merge with NetCut remains still after all these years)
I can’t believe it’s been 6 years since I played gta online consistently and one of the biggest gripes i had was how lock on the ai was with shooting and how they tore thru the heaviest body armor like nothing and killed u so quick come to find out on a random gta video at present time THEY STILL HAVEN’T FIXED THAT
Not to mention, they only added career progress to next gen, which requires you to buy another copy of GTA 5 and to mindlessly complete the same missions we've been doing for years now.
One thing I absolutely hate too is the Mercenary contracts. The FUCKING enemies spawning right behind me. Not even spawning behind a barrier or in a room LITERALLY spawning right behind me the moment I turn my back. It's the most fucking annoying game mechanic in these missons. Having enemies constantly spawning on my ass doesn't make the mission more fucking fun and engaging.
With the Cayo Perico Winky, FUCKING EXACTLY! I have been DYING for a pv Vetir since before the update even dropped. Was so excited when I saw the truck with a livery in the teaser, and just knew I would drive that for years to come. But because it's a fucking PEGASUS VEHICLE, I haven't driven it in like two. A pv Vetir would have been amazing. If they can make a pv of the Speedo Custom, they can do this.

And that's pretty much what I blame for this. And I do need to qualify on the hiring thing, they did brought on a ton of entry level people who really have no interest in the game industry and merely had degrees in relevant skills, largely to meet quotas (a harsh but accurate truth). They don't want to make games. They don't want to work overtime. They want a 9-to-5 perk filled desk job and to brag about where they work on social media. Let me tell you one objective thing that will always be true: Any game designer who does not want to work overtime and thinks that working long hours is cruel and unusual punishment has no business in this industry. Period. They have had a huge hand in ruining it - it shows the difference in the entire mindset. All the best games, all the best designers they worked - and were PROUD to work - like 60+ hour weeks. They were PROUD to pull a week straight at the office to really make the best possible game. It was their passion. It went beyond a product. ..it's the passion the people dragging every AAA company down lack. It's why small indie studios that aren't forced to hire a ton of whining people straight out of college with an basic degree in computer graphics to keep up appearances are the only only studios still being truly creative and passionate. Nobody's making the guy who made Binding of Isaac or Barotrauma work 40 hour weeks with paid vacation. They've put in 100+ hour weeks because it's their passion. AAA studios have lost that.

I took a look at some of these the first day they dropped, and pretty much immediately accepted that I don't have the patience to do the apartment heists challenges, nor the casino penthouse story missions challenge, ulp missions, project overthrow missions with a pistol, without having snacks (just to name a few). Are you fuckin kidding me? Shit boggled my mind... And now after watching this video and seeing how much can go wrong and how easy it is to fail a challenge (from how you explained it) I can confirm that 95% of those challenges I'm not even going to attempt, especially after realizing and now confirmed that none of my previous efforts have gone towards the progress... Good luck on your Niko outfit crusade, but from my perspective, fuck this shit, rockstar can suck a winky

I'm so glad these are not available on old gen because knowing my completionist self I'll try to complete these and absolutely break something in my room doing so from the infuriation these would cause me.
On tier 3 of the gun enthusiasts challenges theres one challenge that has a chance of glitching an resetting your progress for it, basically you need to visit the gun van once a day for ten days and on day six of progression when you go to claim day seven it won't count that you visited the van and even restarting your game can't fix it and I experienced this glitch twice everytime I got to day six.
Gun Van challenge and the gun van itself are bugged. Day 10 was supposed to be this Monday but instead it reset to 0/10 cause it didn’t gave me day 9 on sunday despite going to the gun van twice that day.
I learned my lesson from switching my character over only to have them revert that change this update, I'm just gonna wait till the next update when all my tier 4's are filled automatically as they should be given all I've already done in this back when this game was popular. also use the double action revolver for the pistol challenges, its suprisingly way more fun, it was something I did for the people who used to shortchange me on the first doomsday heist as I wasnt about to waste 40 grand on ammo to barely make 125, so I would just do that
Exactly, the majority of the Tier 4 challenges aren't even worth the effort & rewards, even for me who likes to earn freebies as much as possible. The only unique Tier 4 reward that's anywhere reasonably completable for me is the Weapon Specialist for the PV Speedo Custom.
I agree and I have been playing GTA Online since 2013. I got so frustrated trying a few of the tier 4 contact mission challenges that I had to cut the game off and go to bed early or I was going to rage-destroy a controller. The take less than 50% damage challenge is BS because even if you use snacks to keep your health above 50%, if the total damage taken exceeds 50% of your health then you fail. My pistol challenge was voided on "Casino - Cashing Out" for entering the Menacer spawned as part of the mission that automatically puts passengers on the turret. Seriously WTFing hell. Not to mention the cut scenes that automatically switch your guns and spawn you in the missile of 20 hostile NPCs on "Casino - Strong Arm Tactics" then expecting you also protect Cheng and his translator. I can't even play the Low Rider missions because some of them require 4 players. So even if I have a friend willing to help I can't even start them without hoping randoms will join that will not void any challenge I am going for and the entire point of playing them. It's such shit. Original Hiests, Doomsday, Low Riders, and Casino are mission impossible. I didn't think it was possible to hate old content more but Rockstar managed to do it.
The higher ups cant think of good rewards because they dont even play their game. They just wear a suit and say, "we need people spending infinite anounts of money on our game. Make it happen" so rewards are low tier, and they give no fucks about fun, they care about engagement.
I came for freemode if it does not enrich freemode it don’t get done at all . I stopped caring after Lester heists as we all knew where we stood by then .
It's quite clear that the A-team is not working on GTA5 at the moment. Considering how many people play this game solo I don't think Rock* understand how difficult these challenges are and how low the incentive is to complete them. Less than 1% of all the people who have played GTA have completed the DDH. In nearly 6000 hours of online play I have only once seen a player with the T-shirt for completing all the OG heists on elite

Getting Armored Kuruma for completing Heist challenge is like wiping your butt with a bare hand after a painful diarrhea and afterwards being rewarded with a toilet paper you already had while shiting
My starting year is from 2014. An I did the criminal mastermind challenge on the ps3 Heists. An tons of other things that just didn't count... so I feel you ghillie
I'm a rank 900 who has been playing since day one, but one thing I've been doing for fun this last year is I have started another character where I do my best to complete missions without killing people, only incapacitating them as much as necessary to get the job done. I also don't sell drugs or commit any violent crimes. So all this deaf and failure that you're talking about in the missions, I'm used to it. It's still frustrating to see that rock star doesn't care about the game anymore. And it's quite concerning considering that we're all awaiting GTA 6, they expect us to believe that while they slack off with their biggest moneymaker, that the same thing won't happen with GTA 6? Anyway, love the upload, keep up the great work.
This is why i started the Casino challenge then immediately stopped. The reward was worse than just completing the casino missions on normal with no hassle. They could’ve put that livery on the armored version of that car. But no, just no, this wasn’t thought out at all. I went through this pain on the Madrazo challenge after 4 attempts when i realized i couldn’t use a rifle in the police station cause it tanked accuracy. I did all that for a hoodie with a reticle on it 😒
There’s one challenge I really wish you could show an easy way to do. It is the coordinated platinum award for one of the eight awards you need for nightclub
Looking at the og heists was all i needed to know for these. Needing to do criminal mastermind, the elite challenge for each heist AND earn 50mil from these heists. All just for a 500k car, which most will get anyways. Not even say a special variant of said car with something like missile jammers or something else it shouldnt normally have. I mean im not saying the vehicle rewards should be exclusive to the challenges, if they are going to be stuff we can get anyways it should atleast have a reason for us to go for it. While i dont think we should get the most expensive stuff from each update for free, like say getting a hydra for og heists. But how is a 500k car anywhere near worth grinding for 50mil. If the challenges were turned down to something reasonable. So for T4 og heists, 15 plat awards, 10mil earned, perhaps doing some of the elite challenges and doing all the heists with just pistols. Then maybe it wouldnt be so bad. But they truely expect us to earn hundreds of millions just to be given something worth around 1% of what we earn which we could have easily got anyways miles before we even get close to coming near these T4 targets. This doesnt even include the fact as you said about how the weapons challenges are extremely bad and barely functional.
Something that annoys me, is I've already done all the tier 4 challenges for cayo. Even getting 50 million dollars. And I don't really get why Rockstar didn't check it off. It's not like they can't tell that I've done it. They have all the data to prove it.
What I think is funny is they set the prices on what u get paid for right? And it’s 2023 and they still go by the same amounts-ish since 2015 but car are becoming more and more expensive, but they wonder why people duplicate or trade the cars out for money😂

Oh god the arena rank system is definitely the worst. The rusty tractor would be awesome, but they made it insufferably boring with the rank up system. I won’t ever consider going to the arena unless it’s for a glitch.

@SteveshiClayxui GTA stealth is just an unfinished, half cooked system. You have bodies that (might) trip the alarm, but no way to hide said bodies other than killing them in an optimal spot. You never know when even a sneaky takedown will trip the alarm, and sometimes stealth fails in the end anyway.
I still enjoy stealth, feeling like a slick operative pulling off the flawless job so that no one ever saw me. But GTA makes that a rare feat, and not through actual reasonable difficulty either.
When this career progress thing was launched I took one quick look at it, saw the challenges vs. Rewards and saw that most of my progress wasn't even accounted for and I would have to do everything again, and I noped tf out of there in less than 30 seconds. Haven't opened that tab ever since and probably never will. My time and sanity are worth so much more and R* can stick it where the sun don't shine 😊

im level 925, and I couldnt agree with you more. It bugged me that all my heist progress was gone, even when I had awards for it already in the game under "awards". All elite challenges for doomsday, all casino ones, hell even cayo. As someone whose been on since day one, you hit the nail on the head, I felt shitted on.

At 1182 legit Seeing that i needed to bring in 50 cars in perfect condition as if I haven't already brought in hundreds like that or having to get all the Collections again in Import Export is like them saying F*** Y** for playing the game so long.
Yeah, I've done like a quarter of these challenges already on PS3/PS4, but if they aren't going to count, I'm never completing these challenges.

About the pistol challenge, I think it is also worth mentioning that the phone hits also have the same problem. One of the bonus objectives that you may get is having to run over the target however, if you hit them with your car and they ragdoll THEN die, you fail the bonus.

@thuglife4k I could do that, or my vigilante works but the targets are usually spread out across the map and it takes longer, so I use my oppressor mk11. I boost into them but sometimes they don't die

Yeah, what _really_ grinds my gears with the new Career Rewards system is the absolutely lackluster "rewards" for completing them.
Each tier should have *_multiple_* rewards for each categories Tier Rewards such as path-related clothing like the Diamond Strike Vest (which I still regret missing out on), as well as the Tier 4 Rewards including massive payouts, non-timed discounts for websites, or even permanent buffs for heists like the Casino Heist or Cayo Perico where each tier completed earns you a permanent chance to possibly get Diamonds/Panther Statue for the respective Heists that gets higher with each Tier completed.
What grinds my gears is that alot of what I did over the years playing this game doesnt count. I don't want to go back and grind anything Ive made hundreds of millions of dollars from.

yeah, pistol only challenges aren't worth the trouble for doing... I agree that on the tier 4 rewards should've been 500k or a million, along with an actuallly rare car (Lost Slamvan, Spacedocker, etc) that would motivate me to actually try (even though I'm solo)
A million is still too little for this, you could could do a cayo perico, which is way easier, and bam, theres your reward, a better reward would be a random chance to get diamonds (diamond casino rewards) or the panther statue (cayo perico rewards), that way not only can you always get the limited time stuff that is otherwise impossible to get, you get a reward that you wont just spend in a single day, a reward that keeps on giving, or maybe for the other there could be a take increase for the respective businesses, like mc businesses, the agency, etc

You know how there are 2 versions of the Daemon, one that's been in the game since day one, one with more customization added with the Bikers DLC. I agree with one thing you said, for completing everything with the bikers update should be a lost slimvan as our tier 4 reward. I myself just like a lot of players want the lost slimvan without trying to win it from the lucky wheel in the casino since it’s very hard to win it. At least put the Lost Slimvan on Southern San Andreas to purchase and it wouldn’t matter to me if it was priced anywhere over 1 million dollars. I can’t imagine what we could get for the Christmas update and what rewards in the career progress will be if they aren’t enticing enough to grind for.
The clothing rewards are more enticing than the vehicles (except LD Organics Van and Speedo) since the clothes are unique and can't be purchase from shops.
At this point, I just get more enjoyment watching videos of Ghillie, GTAmen, Broughy, etc. playing the game more than I like playing the game myself. I just don’t have the patience for this bullsh*t game these days.

All my years of playing and doing things like the OG heist Elties challenges that I know have to do again to get a Kurma when the original reward is one of the most unique T shirts in the game. I love how they’ve not added the Doomsday MasterMind challenge to the career rewards because of how buggy it is and they still can’t be bothered to patch it 😂
Sometimes while playing the game, I just have this feeling that the dev team at Rockstar has been so stressed that they just didn't give a fck any more about making sure game logic works properly

Albeit, a little late, but cool. Until I actually saw what the challenges consisted of, and the reward you got for torturing yourself attempting it. I’m like NOPE! Don’t care enough. GTA isn’t even set up to do some of these challenges. At least without regretting that you ever heard of the game.

The nightclub Tier 4 reward is probably the worst, which is a Speedo Custom, the vehicle you start out with in the nightclub. I assume this one's a personal vehicle version, but it still makes no sense. At least make it the Pounder Custom.
I think you forgot that, if you get 50,000,000 from the heists, I doubt that you don't have enough for the armored karuma anyways.

Funniest thing of all….GTA modded car creators/collectors already have all of the vehicles like the cliffford Barrage and the LD organics van….so R* just incentivized people to do glitches to get them easier
And players who did OTF genderswap have all the clothing unlocks as well (btw…..you have NO idea how old some of the clothing in the Career path thing are….some of them were in the game for over 3 years unreleased). These players also have all unreleased clothing and previous GTA+ exclusive clothing
And, R* made the Lost Slamvan not the unlock for the MC missions was because they know that half of the community already has one from the ridiculously easy GCTF glitches from the past 4 years…..and that’s why they finally started fixing GCTF glitches regularly starting this update….just bc of this Career progress thing 😂
Oh, and all the exclusive liveries are accessible to everyone with a merge glitch…if you know what # livery it is on that vehicle (and while LSCM merge is fully patched, 2Console merge with NetCut remains still after all these years)
I can’t believe it’s been 6 years since I played gta online consistently and one of the biggest gripes i had was how lock on the ai was with shooting and how they tore thru the heaviest body armor like nothing and killed u so quick come to find out on a random gta video at present time THEY STILL HAVEN’T FIXED THAT

Having enemies constantly spawning on my ass doesn't make the mission more fucking fun and engaging.

With the Cayo Perico Winky, FUCKING EXACTLY! I have been DYING for a pv Vetir since before the update even dropped. Was so excited when I saw the truck with a livery in the teaser, and just knew I would drive that for years to come. But because it's a fucking PEGASUS VEHICLE, I haven't driven it in like two. A pv Vetir would have been amazing. If they can make a pv of the Speedo Custom, they can do this.

2020: Rockstar begins losing the key players who were, shock of shocks, part of the 'boys club.'
2021: Rockstar begins ending overtime (because people think it's a war crime now), because the people they hired, don't like overtime and aren't even that into games.
2022: Interviews at Rockstar reveal a demoralized staff who can't work the hours they need to, can't make non-PC jokes and aren't sure about the future.
2019-2023: Take Two's influence also increase radically during this time, pushing for more and more way to monetize the game using it as an expendable test bed for GTA 6.
And that's pretty much what I blame for this. And I do need to qualify on the hiring thing, they did brought on a ton of entry level people who really have no interest in the game industry and merely had degrees in relevant skills, largely to meet quotas (a harsh but accurate truth). They don't want to make games. They don't want to work overtime. They want a 9-to-5 perk filled desk job and to brag about where they work on social media.
Let me tell you one objective thing that will always be true: Any game designer who does not want to work overtime and thinks that working long hours is cruel and unusual punishment has no business in this industry. Period. They have had a huge hand in ruining it - it shows the difference in the entire mindset. All the best games, all the best designers they worked - and were PROUD to work - like 60+ hour weeks. They were PROUD to pull a week straight at the office to really make the best possible game. It was their passion. It went beyond a product.
..it's the passion the people dragging every AAA company down lack. It's why small indie studios that aren't forced to hire a ton of whining people straight out of college with an basic degree in computer graphics to keep up appearances are the only only studios still being truly creative and passionate.
Nobody's making the guy who made Binding of Isaac or Barotrauma work 40 hour weeks with paid vacation. They've put in 100+ hour weeks because it's their passion. AAA studios have lost that.

I took a look at some of these the first day they dropped, and pretty much immediately accepted that I don't have the patience to do the apartment heists challenges, nor the casino penthouse story missions challenge, ulp missions, project overthrow missions with a pistol, without having snacks (just to name a few). And now after watching this video and seeing how much can go wrong and how easy it is to fail a challenge (from how you explained it) I can confirm that 95% of those challenges I'm not even going to attempt, especially after realizing and now confirmed that none of my previous efforts have gone towards the progress... my opinion on leveling after 150 is that every level gets you 100k
On tier 3 of the gun enthusiasts challenges theres one challenge that has a chance of glitching an resetting your progress for it, basically you need to visit the gun van once a day for ten days and on day six of progression when you go to claim day seven it won't count that you visited the van and even restarting your game can't fix it and I experienced this glitch twice everytime I got to day six.

Gun Van challenge and the gun van itself are bugged. Day 10 was supposed to be this Monday but instead it reset to 0/10 cause it didn’t gave me day 9 on sunday despite going to the gun van twice that day.
i feel like the gun van has had the same exact weapons for 2 weeks now but maybe that’s just me
I learned my lesson from switching my character over only to have them revert that change this update, I'm just gonna wait till the next update when all my tier 4's are filled automatically as they should be given all I've already done in this back when this game was popular.
also use the double action revolver for the pistol challenges, its suprisingly way more fun, it was something I did for the people who used to shortchange me on the first doomsday heist

Exactly, the majority of the Tier 4 challenges aren't even worth the effort & rewards, even for me who likes to earn freebies as much as possible. The only unique Tier 4 reward that's anywhere reasonably completable for me is the Weapon Specialist for the PV Speedo Custom.
I agree and I have been playing GTA Online since 2013. I got so frustrated trying a few of the tier 4 contact mission challenges that I had to cut the game off and go to bed early or I was going to rage-destroy a controller. The take less than 50% damage challenge is BS because even if you use snacks to keep your health above 50%, if the total damage taken exceeds 50% of your health then you fail. My pistol challenge was voided on "Casino - Cashing Out" for entering the Menacer spawned as part of the mission that automatically puts passengers on the turret. Seriously WTFing hell. Not to mention the cut scenes that automatically switch your guns and spawn you in the missile of 20 hostile NPCs on "Casino - Strong Arm Tactics" then expecting you also protect Cheng and his translator. I can't even play the Low Rider missions because some of them require 4 players. So even if I have a friend willing to help I can't even start them without hoping randoms will join that will not void any challenge I am going for and the entire point of playing them. It's such shit. Original Hiests, Doomsday, Low Riders, and Casino are mission impossible. I didn't think it was possible to hate old content more but Rockstar managed to do it.
The higher ups cant think of good rewards because they dont even play their game. They just wear a suit and say, "we need people spending infinite anounts of money on our game. Make it happen" so rewards are low tier, and they give no fucks about fun, they care about engagement.

It's quite clear that the A-team is not working on GTA5 at the moment. Considering how many people play this game solo I don't think Rock* understand how difficult these challenges are and how low the incentive is to complete them. Less than 1% of all the people who have played GTA have completed the DDH. In nearly 6000 hours of online play I have only once seen a player with the T-shirt for completing all the OG heists on elite

My starting year is from 2014. An I did the criminal mastermind challenge on the ps3 Heists. An tons of other things that just didn't count... so I feel you ghillie
I'm a rank 900 who has been playing since day one, but one thing I've been doing for fun this last year is I have started another character where I do my best to complete missions without killing people, only incapacitating them as much as necessary to get the job done. I also don't sell drugs or commit any violent crimes. So all this deaf and failure that you're talking about in the missions, I'm used to it. It's still frustrating to see that rock star doesn't care about the game anymore. And it's quite concerning considering that we're all awaiting GTA 6, they expect us to believe that while they slack off with their biggest moneymaker, that the same thing won't happen with GTA 6? Anyway, love the upload, keep up the great work.
This is why i started the Casino challenge then immediately stopped. The reward was worse than just completing the casino missions on normal with no hassle. They could’ve put that livery on the armored version of that car. But no, just no, this wasn’t thought out at all. I went through this pain on the Madrazo challenge after 4 attempts when i realized i couldn’t use a rifle in the police station cause it tanked accuracy. I did all that for a hoodie with a reticle on it 😒
It's also stupid that these are only an option for next gen systems.

There’s one challenge I really wish you could show an easy way to do. It is the coordinated platinum award for one of the eight awards you need for nightclub

Looking at the og heists was all i needed to know for these. Needing to do criminal mastermind, the elite challenge for each heist AND earn 50mil from these heists. All just for a 500k car, which most will get anyways.
Not even say a special variant of said car with something like missile jammers or something else it shouldnt normally have. I mean im not saying the vehicle rewards should be exclusive to the challenges, if they are going to be stuff we can get anyways it should atleast have a reason for us to go for it. While i dont think we should get the most expensive stuff from each update for free, like say getting a hydra for og heists. But how is a 500k car anywhere near worth grinding for 50mil.
If the challenges were turned down to something reasonable. So for T4 og heists, 15 plat awards, 10mil earned, perhaps doing some of the elite challenges and doing all the heists with just pistols. Then maybe it wouldnt be so bad. But they truely expect us to earn hundreds of millions just to be given something worth around 1% of what we earn which we could have easily got anyways miles before we even get close to coming near these T4 targets.
This doesnt even include the fact as you said about how the weapons challenges are extremely bad and barely functional.
Something that annoys me, is I've already done all the tier 4 challenges for cayo. Even getting 50 million dollars. And I don't really get why Rockstar didn't check it off. It's not like they can't tell that I've done it. They have all the data to prove it.
