- Making dinosaur ammo? 3rd video in a 3 part video series about making subsonic 880 gr. ammo for my 50 Alaskan Encore. This video shows the "unloading" of the ammo as well as a short unscientific experiment with half frozen water filled milk jugs.
Equipment Used:
-Thompson Center Encore SBR (registered short barreled rifle)
-Bowers VERS50 .50 cal suppressor (love that thing!)
-Vortex Sparc II red dot sight (Vortex warranty... you know, in case I rattle my optics to pieces--I'm covered)
-Google Pixel XL and Iphone6?
-And........... Cabelas fleece lined jeans, you know, for those cold days when you still want to go out to the mountains to shoot.

Could you shoot at a soft target at 100 yards twice and put the camera down at the target for the first shot?
For the second shot you could place the camera at 50 yards, right next to the line of fire, but this time have the camera facing you, so we can see and hear the bullet flying by? Just don't shoot the camera ;)
I wonder if the camera will pick up the sound of the bullet whizzing by.
Load a 750 gr 50 BMG bullet in it and see if you can shoot a 2" circle at 200 m
i could see the trench it made on that last shot, bet it was just under where that last jug was, i have a 1985stp in 50 Alaskan so i am in love with the cartridge, now i need that Encore, you once again are not helping with my addiction, actually started a reloaders anonymous group on mewe lol

+TRUMP 2020 yes, I've shot some jacketed BMG pointy bullets out of it.

awesome! what twist rate is that barrel? i believe 1:20 is standard.
+duffys gunsmithing I chose to go with a 14 twist for that barrel. It stabilizes those bullets fine at the speeds I wanted.
yep thats perfect! for one of the .458 socom bolt gun builds i went with a 1:10 .do you know who's barrel was used on your rifle?
MGM, Match Grade Machine down in southern utah made my barrel.
how is the 338 spectre bolt action project going?
barrel is turned need to thread it and i made a custom barrel nut so far .working on my h&R .500 SW mannlicher carbine also .i need to get started on my .577 express rifle one day too!
