They started out in the 1960's a Dallas TX Garage Band named The Warlocks, they had a 1 hit wonder that was on the Dallas rock n roll AM radio station KLIF who put out KLIF Classic albums & their 1 hit wonder went on 1 of them. I knew Phil Vickery he was part of The Warlocks & dropped out when he got married then the band became a 3 piece band a lil ole band from Texas named ZZ Top! Phil & Dusty were still good friends, Phil died in McKinney TX in 2008. Phil Vickery also discovered Stevie Nicks & produced her & Buckingham's 1st 45 in the late 1960's one side was "Do You Know Your Way To San Jose" the other side "What the World Needs Now". Phil was a cool dude so happy he shared his stories with me. 1 of his sister's husbands was a Thornton , yep like in Billy Bob Thornton + Dusty Hill used to beg her to marry him & she wouldn't😊 I also knew 1 of his Thornton nephews.
I thought Eric Clapton would join them on stage... Well, I misunderstood, he didn't join. Maybe I should take some french lessons... Anyway, thanks for posting.
I was at this concert in 2004. There was a thunderstorm that blew in while ZZ Top finally made it to the stage. It was running about an hour to an hour and a half over already. If I remember right it was already after midnight.
These boys wrote a whole chapter in the book of cool. There will never be another band like them. Rip Dusty!! Hope to see you on the other side.

They are so incredibly cool!!
I find it hilarious how serious Frank looks all the time. Then every once in a while he'll give that shit eatin grin. Reminds me of Cool Hand Luke.
When your Grandpa is miles cooler than you
Обожаю Zi Zi top. Говорю честно. Я вырос в то время.
R.I.P. Dusty ....ZZ Top always been one of my top favorite bands of all time
Dusty was having some beard issues, it looks like, but still held it down. I regret that it has taken me so long to appreciate these guys.
