When I saw Billy Joel in Boston at Fenway he brought out Peter Wolf (of J. Giles fame) who had played the night before and later Joe Elliot of Def Leppard who was playing the next night. Such a great surprise.
Although I have never experienced it, I know people who have. Billy Gibbons rolls around Houston just like a normal guy. I know folks who have run into him at gas stations and grocery stores and they say he just acts like one of us. Many props to a Texas legend.
I hear you. I saw ZZTOP In a 3000 seat venue (Celebrity Theater, PHX,AZ) before they hit it big, which was only a few months later when I saw them headline a five band outdoor show. I’ve seen them many times throughout their career. They kicked ass every show. God Rest Mr. Dusty Hill.
Lol that’s one of my pet peeves too. Vertical is fine for short sound bites or an instagram story, but an actual performance should always be horizontal!
That’s the John Lee Hooker modality. ZZ fashioned la Grange sound after the Boogie mans song “ Boogie Chillin”. He would use a propulsive drone in open G ruclips.net/video/VSUeOvmkjM8/видео.html
It was a great viewing this video that brought me back memories of ZZTOP and Bill Joel live shows back in the day. Since my friend grew up with Billy in Texas, we got to socialize with him in the backstage and found him to be a real gentleman. No wonder everyone wanted to play with him!
@@kenrangen this was taken with my iPhone 14 Pro. I was in the front row of section A so that certainty helped with the quality of the video (the people you see in front of me are in the small “upgrade pod” of seats on the very side/edge of the stage).
Excellent performance. And, high praise to the steady-handed videographer for clear and smooth camera work. Still trying to translate the background voices.
Very true Dusty is gone way too early in life. This is one of the greatest bands of all time nothing today can even light a candle to what ZZ TOP has produced in 40 + years that might be wrong I think it more on the line of 50+ years
Incredible two "Billy"!! Billy Joel is my most favorite singer-songwriter and pianist. Billy Gibbons is one of my favorite American Blues and Boogie guitarist. it's awesome and gorgeous!!
One of my favorite bands, and also my dad favorite band, dad I hope your listening talking to ole dusty up there !, also the guy that sang tush is phenomenal!
Imagine writing a tune so pure and so simple that everybody knows it, recognizes it, loves it and is able to jam or solo to it. Doesn't matter if it's a guitar, a bass, a sax or a piano. La Grange is brilliant in its sheer simplicity, yet hard to match or master.

Heres to two legends killing it always on stage. The vocals singing Tush sounds freaking awesome. I think Billy would not sing the vocals of that song out of respect for his buddy Dusty. RIP Dusty. We all miss you.
Wow at 73 he really is still active, performing everywhere including now at Madison Square Garden with Billy Joel. Note Joel did not sing this one with the guest, but enjoyed Gibbon's performance. I always thought Billy Joel's band was top quality and this proves it. The style is so different from Joel's but they keep up and play it really well. Wish I was there. Still plan to see Joel before he ends his run. I like the band member who said, "Let's do another one!" Maybe planned but the crowd loved it.
No matter when, where or under what circumstances you see Billy Gibbons pop up the man is ready to rock and roll. Always sharp.
Yes Billy is a Master A Coolest GAY ❤️🥇🎉🎉

I love the ‘Holy Shit It’s Billy Gibbons’ 🤣👏👏👏 Brilliant
This is why Billy is one of the GOATs! He knows he's the star in this guest spot, but always gracious in encouraging the others to take a solo!
Class act, humble, doesn't need to prove anything anymore
When I saw Billy Joel in Boston at Fenway he brought out Peter Wolf (of J. Giles fame) who had played the night before and later Joe Elliot of Def Leppard who was playing the next night. Such a great surprise.
Whoever is singing Tush is killing it. Awesome voice!
@2v_5r Thanks!
I'm sure Dusty Hill would give his seal of approval.
Absolutely nailed it 💯

Billy Gibbons is just the coolest. Every move polished and professional. Leads the band like he has been part of it for decades. Fantastic!

T,
Billy Gibbons Is One Cool Cat.
Met Him Once, Seen Him Play Many Times.
A True Troubadour.
I’ve spoken with him multiple times at the Dallas Guitar Show and he is really nice. There is cool and then there’s “BFG” cool! 😂
Billy and Billy... I never would have imagined it. But that was really cool.
Two Rock 'n Roll legends on stage killing it with an awesome band behind them.
This made me happy ;)
I went to the Jeff Beck tribute concert in London. Of all the stars there Billy Gibbons got the biggest cheer. And deservedly so!
I've been lucky to see ZZ Top and Billy Joel at MSG a few times, and I'm glad this crowd got a real treat. Very well made video !

@@reydavidbarriga3212 saw ZZ five times between 1982 and 2002. always on fire every show and probably at their best in '91 on the Recycler tour.
Two great Billys that ive seen in person, and never in my wildest dreams though id see them together.
Billy Gibbons is an American institution, so talented and generous.
Thank you for this, and for shooting horizontally and not vertically...great job, well done!

Had a great time at this concert. Very happy to see different views of it showing up on RUclips.
To any aspiring shredder, study Billy Gibbons. As few notes as possible, but make every one of them count.
Sustain and pauses with big beautiful bends are awesome. Taste and pace wins the race.
As we often know. Less is more.
Absolutely. He plays so smoothly and with such attitude at the same time. It's not how many notes you play, its how you play the notes that you do.
That’s the hardest thing to do , way more than speed and shredding

One of the greatest pickers with that little old band from Texas. Rock on Billie Gibbons. Looking for you in Knoxville TN in March 2024🎉🎉🎉❤❤
Billy twice! Is like a fortune roll of a dice! Rock'n'roll, ladies and gents!
It’s amazing the amount of people Billy Joel has gotten to play with him over the years, or who have wanted to play with Billy.
Probably because he is the ‘Mozart’ of our time, a songwriter, musician, and human being extraordinaire!
😳😳😳😳😳😳
WTF… waowwww!
What the what the what now!!!???
So Fng GREAT!!!!👍🏻👏👊

It’s not surprising, it’s a very incestuous Business.
Well let's see, do I want to do a song or two at a sold out MSG? No brainer for guests...
One of the most talented punks to ever come outta long island.

If you had a list of the top 10 coolest people ever. He would be on it twice!
It took eight people at least to create the sound that three boys from Texas did on their own. My My My.
Holy shit, talk about a crystal clear picture. I want to see the entire show like that!
