Buy the 6 series if you want to, I bought one and it had valve stem seal leaks, alternator bracket gasket leak, and a faulty catalytic converter. Which means I had engine out repairs. The labor + parts cost me $6,700. Then 4 new tires and wheel alignment for $1,000 and finally oil change, and air filter at the dealership was $400. That being said this car drops ladies panties. I've never had so many woman eyeing me down and wanting a ride. If you have even a lick of game you'll pull in this car like there is no tomorrow.

I love the fact that, on a £50,000 car, you would be expected to upgrade the plastic timing belt tensioners to metal, because someone designed an engine for a high performance sports car with a piece made of plastic that would wreck the engine if it should fail.

I actually really like and have owned each of these brands except the Porsche. I almost wanted to believe it when he said the BMW 6 series was the most reliable. Look today at the 6 series years like 06' to 10' and you'll be hard pressed to find anyone saying bullet proof and 6 series in the same sentence. Don't know when this was originally aired but the orices they quote are misleading.
Yes, you may find a 911 with huge mileage and no service history for around 10 k GBP - but it's silly to suggest that this could be a car to run on beer money.
Especially with these cars, the old adage applies: "There is nothing more expensive than a cheap car"...
Want a used convertible for under 10 k GBP to run on little money?
Get a well-maintained Mazda MX5! No offence meant - I'd have bought one myself if I fit in (alas, won't work at > 6'4")

snelmau5..... Cars are very cheap here in the uk because of our insurance system kills the car trade.......you get insurance rewards with driving experience and age......for example...if 50yrs old, you'll pay around £360 per year for any car.....18 yrs old insuring a 1.6 liter st Ford Fiesta will cost you around £5,000 and above, if you're lucky enough to get insured, that is ....hope this helps....

Correction. Its the rear main seal on the porsche that may leak oil. The intermediate shaft bearing can fail without warning, though still unlikely.

IceFish The prices I suppose are very regional dependent, the UK probably with the lowest of prices. A $50K to $5K drop, what does that tell you about the value of a second-hand Jaguar? Leave it to Jaguar to experiment with the Nickasil cylinder liners, to further solidify Jaguars legacy of unreliability...on an epic engineering scale.

Do not believe everything he says in this video. The prices they say are for the coupe versions, to find first cheaper cabriolet you have to double the price that they say

Ricardo Ellison...I've had many Jags....XK to XJ....never once have I had any engine problems with either one of them....as long as you service them regular using....."premium parts/oils"....being also why cars are so cheap here in the uk, because of our insurance system kills the car trade....here in the uk it's a buyer's market..... not a seller's market....other words....you get a lot of car for very little money!

I've owned BMW 630ci and it's the worst car ever. Full of Electronic problems. The cabriolet mechanism has its temper.. most of the time, it doesn't work. Ended in embarrassing moments as the cabriolet couldn't close in front of public. BMW gearbox are shit and soft. I've changed mine after the warranty has gone. Great timing, BMW! And the steering rack was a nightmare.
