That is very true, indeed! I have a 2015 640i Convertible. Its fin hood with retractable rear window makes the car draft-free using it as a Coupe with retracted side windows. This I`m missing at the 8 series! Besides all, the cars sideline looks much more elegant and noble that the 8 series.
It's true that BMW makes great sixes but their V8s, while being great performers, lack durability and will cost subsequent owners to spend on a grand scale. If you watch the Scotty Kilmer channel he, a day or two ago, talked about the non-recall (IE it's not an official recall so they don't contact you) BMW has on the N "something" V8 where they are failing between 60K & 80K miles but they will fix it if you explicitly complain about it. Best stick to the BMW sixes, or like me have a car with the Mercedes M112 engine. Bulletproof.

The on off button works perfectly and you have to push it only once to turn off the engine, everything else shuts off when you leave the car and lock it
This is exactly how I’m going to be when I get older haha, just leave me the hell alone haha, beautiful car, considering this car, never paid attention to 6 series, but looking nice.
This car ticks all the right box`s if you want this set up without having to empty your wallet on a daily basis. That would become boring very soon. This 6 cylinder engine has all the power you need with that electric top and a back seat that can actually accommadate 2 in back makes this a great car to live with if you get a lot of sunshine!

Tony Rappa bmws i6 engines are not expensive and pretty reliable. So good that Toyota now sources their 3.0L I6 haha. Also for bmws a certain site gives you LIFETIME FREE REPLACEMENTS on all bmw parts. I’ve bought brakes, filters, etc once in my entire life and diy most maintenance... can’t beat that. $3000 in maintenance basically for 6 years... haha it’s great
THIS car is pointless - in addition to being woefully underpowered it doesn't beat the SL400 on comfort it doesnt beat the Carrera (or even the M235 for that matter) on performance why would anyone buy this thing? it doesn't do any one thing very well
