Hi Thomas - Really good you mentioned your height - 1.86m, as this is a very important factor for tall people watching a review.- Great honest review of the back seats too. Well done, a very helpful review. Keep it up.
Watching this in 2024! You can get these in the UK for between £10k-£18k. The Diesels seem to be bulletproof and this car represents tremendous value! I'm getting one as my family car.
I was so happy when BMW brought back the 6 series I always liked the unique shape! I'm loving the new models the BMW 6 series convertible is my dream car hopefully one day I can get one thank you for your review
Dearest Thomas, LOVE that you remembered my comment on your review for the 2016 4 Convertible! I gather you agree the 4 is the superior choice to carry a rear passenger, unless of course the 6 rear passenger is a yoga master able to fold themselves into the non-existent seat space, LOL No jean-clad-boot-wearing Texan I know would attempt to make that work. (I being of that category) ; ) Thank you for reviewing that, um, non-feature. My custom convertible 4 M series arrives in 3 days, SO EXCITED! Side note--shared your reviews with my daughter, also a BMW fan, and she now has a crush on you! 💙 So there's that, LOL Cheers Thomas! Inga VW
Good review. Only want to say that the 6 cilinder of bmw is not a v6 but a 6 inline! More sophisticated technically. It runs smoother and sounds better. Even the diesel😃
Hey Thomas, did you think about making a little video montage of bloopers or behind the scenes peek? I really think it would come out awesome. Regards!
I think that the real competitor for the 6 Series is the upcoming S-Class cabrio, although it will be more expensive. Here in Spain, the 6 Series cabrio starts at 108,000€. I would rather pick a M4 with some equipment because the 6 series is ridiculously expensive (at least here in Spain)
Got a chance to rent it when I was in the U.S for a few weeks, IMHO: Benefits - Luxurious, sporty, beautiful, actually has good standard equipment, very very comfortable for a BMW.. Drawbacks - BACKSEAT..what the fuck?! so tiny. Overall drawbacks are PRACTICALLY...even for a convertible especially at this size and price range. Still, kids will fit OK in there and it's mostly for two people. use the back seat to carry stuff hahaa
wondering cut is awful. why not mount to the head rest points and keep rear seat access? diesel, yes but we need a convertible ghibli for the best..love the 6 series dash and interior tho
Just a small linguistic point: 'wind-cut' means nothing in English. However, a 'wind deflector' is precisely what BMW UK would sell you if you wish to reduce buffeting in the cabin....I know Tomasz is a 'detail man', so don't forget: it's a 'wind deflector'..... :-)
How would you compare the space in the back and trunk space compared to a4 cabrio or a5 or a mustang cabrio.. im looking on a a4 cabrio replacement and i want to use it as a family car aka baby car ..needs to be bigger that a4 ..
Im shocked thomas didnt put garbage bags over the leather seats in that 6 series ......also didn’t complain for once that it didnt have alternative materials for the seats.💩
+Autogefühl Grazie, Thomas! That's funny because I sent my comment before you said that in your review 😆 Your colour is very beautiful, you are correct. I like the rear buttresses is spite of the huge blind spot potential. Looks like a bat mobile - sort of... Big car - big €€€€€€€€€ ! I recall reading an article about Dr. Mario Thiessen, former head of BMW Motorsport during their F1 days, driving his 6er between Munich and the Sauber base in Switzerland several times a week. He said it was very nice to drive at high speeds over long distances. High speed on the German leg of the trip at least.
+Jared Berg I think he said BMW changed out the standard wheels for a winter wheel set-up. Probably impacted the ride quality as well. Diesel could work for the economy minded buyer, but let's be honest. Someone buying a 6 Series convertible doesn't care about economy. They want performance.
I did see that afterward. Still, who can afford this car but doesn't have a nice AWD for real winter driving? It's a big expensive luxury convertible, why drive it in the snow?
***** In Germany, all cars are required to have winter tires. Now if you have enough money and a garage to match, this could definitely be a three season car.
+Jared Berg Because that diesel will rip your face off from a red light around town. People going through a mid life crisis like having their face ripped off.
I really enjoyed your review on the BMW 4 hardtop, amazing stuff that in particular and I feel owning that car tick so many boxes because BMW genuinely have made the 1st '1 for all' car in the modern age. You did it full justice, thank. Now how do I afford? xDD
As it has no spare tire, nor any place to store one under the trunk floor, if you (like me) think a spare is necessary then you don't really have a trunk any longer (the spare fills the trunk). Manufacturers are cheating on gas mileage by no longer having spare tires and jacks, so they save the weight. What is completely unacceptable to me is that the have also removed the storage space under the trunk floor. There is no place to put the spare other than the trunk, which also does not have a good way to secure the spare from moving. In the convertible under review, I don't even see that you could get one in the trunk at all. I'm disgusted. I have always bought BMWs for their driving dynamics, now they have so compromised functionality I don't think I can anymore.
after test driving one of these two weeks ago, I bought a 328i. This 6-Series is too large, a tank to operate, heavy, poor gas mileage, just not elegant.
Nothing to say about the really bad quality BMW is offering for this price? Bad quality of plastics, bad buttons, the leather isn't as good as in other brands etc.... The 6series was overpriced. Cheap made, everything for shareholders....
+Autogefühl Too strong statement for Delta. I think if journalist can not recommend cars such as Lancia they shouldn't discourage people of buying them. I drove one couple of years ago and remember that as a great expedience. There is even one driving school in Croatia that has Deltas as fleet vehicles which is amazing as they are so distinctive and not made for average taste. I really think its a sacrilege to compare Lancia with any Seat or Skoda mentioned in the review.
You picked the convertible because you are going through a mid life crisis early? Perfect car for this. If you are going through a mid life crisis, I'd say go buy a M4 convertible (save a boatload of money) and stop pretending you want people driving in those ridiculous back seats. (You know you will be just driving around with your mistress.) I'd buy a v8 F type when I have my mid life attack

with different wheels this car would be completely stunning

Love your attention to detail, a wunderbar review!

cool !
Same. I'm looking at a convertible and there's just something about the 6 series I've always loved which isn't in any other convertible.
I just bought a 2017 coupe with fairly low mileage can’t believe these cars were 70k+ and it still feels special and not aged
I'm considering one in 2025. How are you getting on with your 640d? Would you recommend it?
@@booter654 100%.
Very good. The best review ever!!!!
🙏👌

thank you for your review
thanks m8 keep supporting us!
nice video! very in depth, watched the whole thing. One minor critique thou - its not a V but a R6 petrol engine :)
thanks! ye u are right :)

Great video. Just discovered your channel as I've just agreed a deal on buying a 2018 convertible. Thanks
thanks, please subscribe if you haven't done so far =)
Subscribed! Thank you
Superb review Thomas! I agree about the rear of the first generation 6 Series, it was hideous. The infamous "Bangle-Butt" almost ruined BMW IMO.
Had to go back and relive this car. I miss it so much LOL. Thomas Blau, too!
=)
Good review. Only want to say that the 6 cilinder of bmw is not a v6 but a 6 inline! More sophisticated technically. It runs smoother and sounds better. Even the diesel😃

Hey Thomas, did you think about making a little video montage of bloopers or behind the scenes peek? I really think it would come out awesome. Regards!
+1212121 21 Indeed we have been working on an extensive making of that also includes that :)
Hey Thomas, thx for your report, it makes my decision for the 640d easy! Greets!
+M. S. glad we could help !
Considering the M6 Grand Coupe as a bridge to my first supercar
One day it will be mine , I want the 650i for the V8 sound :)
2012 model years are starting to get to a good price. Just bought one myself for under $30k

Guy looks like a computer science major named James Bond
Moin, does it give this review auch in German?😂
How does this compare to the Mercedes E class convertible?
u mention a v6 petrol engine? with BMW? in line 6 only! thank god!!!
This rims make it look like renault
Very good review, I have a 428i Hard top convertible, I feel the soft top provides more room in the trunk yes?
+Jack Wang in the trunk yes - but still not that much as for the size of the car could be offered imho
Im shocked thomas didnt put garbage bags over the leather seats in that 6 series
......also didn’t complain for once that it didnt have alternative materials for the seats.💩
Good idea! 😉
BMW, Thomas blue convertible und Thomas M.! 👍🏻
Bravissimo
+Mario Dalla Riva I said that for you =)

High speed on the German leg of the trip at least.
that one youre not sure about is the ashtray,
In fact.hard top is better..
But 6 series luxury...
It hard to choose
For those that don't know the 6 series is a very powerful special car, its gotta be a rag top for me.
Great color combo, but the wheels are a bit small and I don't understand this car with a diesel.
+Jared Berg I think he said BMW changed out the standard wheels for a winter wheel set-up. Probably impacted the ride quality as well. Diesel could work for the economy minded buyer, but let's be honest. Someone buying a 6 Series convertible doesn't care about economy. They want performance.

+gbriank1 indeed!
46:30 Mercedes GT Coupe :)
How about the interior room and height to the roof for a 1.87 m (73.62 in) tall person?
I am 1.86
@@autogefuehl
Ok but is it comfortable enough (enough roof space without feeling claustrophobic)?
well this vehicle does not have the best offering of space indeed
should be good. Tried it and I am 1 90m
So thats what Autogefühl means :):)
+Mario Dodik =)
What year is the vehicle?
Thomas, can you do a review the new bmw 7 series? Thank you
+Andre H.K hey, i ll try to arrange that for next year
+Autogefühl nice one!
Yeah will do next year!
+Autogefühl that seemed answered twice. :>
Roof up, hot weather aircon on simples
i don't think there are any v6 engines built by bmw. i guess you meant inline six.
+juefis thats right, thanks
19:45
Like it, but agree that the 4 Series is nearly as good. That rear seat is worthless, unless you have someone with no legs back there.
alxactly And in German luxury style!
And don't forget to fill up your car with Total fuels! www.totaltankstelle.de/2015/10/23/eure-fragen-mit-autoblogger-thomas-majchrzak/
+gbriank1 LOL =) Its not an advertisement video btw, its answering some facebook fan questions :)
***** Thought was worth sharing!
It's almost perfect but still too ridiculously little space in the rear for 100000 euros,, crazy!
you are right!
I really enjoyed your review on the BMW 4 hardtop, amazing stuff that in particular and I feel owning that car tick so many boxes because BMW genuinely have made the 1st '1 for all' car in the modern age.

heh good question =)
Hey Thomas, you're videos are getting long, is it possible to stick to some kind of limit? I don't have 51 mins to salivate over this 6 series
+Rizwan Murtaza You should have :) We differ from car to car, depends on how much there is to say about the car. Full HD, Fullscreen - and relax!
If you insist :). Absolutely love your reviews, you're up there with the best! Keep up the good work!
What is a facelift?
updated model, not entirely new
+Autogefühl thanks
Who thinks the older model is better ??
wind not wondering. .auto correct .
How can I feel good about a car that has a rickety door handle and a door that rattles when it closes? No thanks, I would rather go for a Mercedes.

The rear seats are just wasting of leather. If it's natural leather than one cow die just for hamburgers.
+bonustraka 23 yeah

these are a dime a dozen...
The roof looks great, but I'm not a fan of the weirdly long and low shape. Looks like a boat on wheels.
question - what's the worst car you've ever reviewed?
+Francoberry :-) the latest Lancia Delta www.autogefuehl.de/2014/06/21/lancia-delta-im-test/
Poor Lancia - Now a mere shadow of what that name used to stand for :(
+Francoberry yeah ..
+Autogefühl Too strong statement for Delta. I think if journalist can not recommend cars such as Lancia they shouldn't discourage people of buying them.
