Thank you for the very helpful video. With the diagnostic mode I was able to isolate and confirm that the buzzing sound we are hearing is what’s causing the middle drawer to freeze. Convertible drawer damper is faulty. Would it be possible for you to add to this video the complete diagnostic codes and test codes or provide a link to the pdf? Also, will you be doing any videos on repairs of this fridge? The convertible door damper seems to be a common problem.
I just replaced the ice maker and everything is fine now. Very disappointed such a high end and expensive refrigerator had a failure just shy of three years. I have never had to replace an ice maker on any other refrigerator, ever.
mine shows 0100. 01 d04. Freezer fan feedback missing when fan is running. (not making ice now) I tried testing fans got numbers on all the fans . Any idea what thte problem might be ?
Our middle tray is cooling as if its a freezer... its freezing all liquids even though we have selected the temp to refrigerator - beverages.... any clue what maybe prompting this issue... sigh..
I’m having the same issue. I ran test 45 and it sounds like my convertible drawer damper is grinding/ attempting to move but may be seized. I’ve only had the fridge for 5 months so I’m contacting the warranty department about it now… this is my assessment of it based on what I heard though but I’m having my drawer freeze too. Can’t have my Mountain Dews blowing up
Thanks for this informative video. My fridge GE model PVD28BYNBFS freezer will not freeze and is building up frost and ice. It hovers at around 30F. Checking the faults it's reading (0200). The tech service guide says check Freezer Evap Thermistor run test #0004. When I run test 0004 it shows "10". I'm pretty much lost after that. Hoping you can shed some insight as to what's wrong with the freezer section and how I might fix it? Fridge is cooling fine. Thanks!
What does NC mean on display when powering up? I believe my chain harness on the convertible drawer is bad. If I wiggle blue wire going to drawer face that display goes blank. If it is on it’s is just flashing 88. When unplugging fridge and plugging back it I get NC on the door display for 15 minutes. Ice make and water dispenser is not working. I think with the bad chain harness it thinks the drawer is open? Any help?
Any idea why my dispenser on the door has no power. It will go off and we can't dispense ice or water. It will stay off for hours and sometimes days and all of a sudden the panel is working again. What could be the problem and how may we repair this ourselves?
Thanks for the video. I have a new fridge just installed. Was not making ice. Found your channel. Original codes were (0304 and 0738) i reset everything and ran it another day. Received codes (0304 and 0313?) Freezer is at 49 degrees and fridge is at 40. In the process of checking continuity of the freezer fan. Batteries dies in my fluke meter so it will be later this evening. Is there anything else I should check? Thanks in advance.
Error Code Meanings: 0313: Convertible drawer temperature exceeded (setpoint + 20°F). 0304: Freezer temperature exceeded (setpoint + 20°F). 0738: AutoFill terminated by keypad before fill completed. Based on these codes, it seems like a Seal System Problem. It should ideally be covered under warranty. Hope this information helps you!
Thank you for this great video, I just bought one like this and I want to fix it myself as it's not getting cold after 8 hours I installed it. I would like to ask how likely it is that a freon leak happened on a new fridge? Everything looks good no damage. I ran tests and got this F 03 15 o 42 d 00 but I'm confused about which fault it is. then hit 01 and the fault didn't show up again. Hope you can help me. Also ran freezer test but no change in temperature.
Hello there, the error 0315 you're experiencing indicates that a 3-way valve cooling is not detected in your refrigerator's evaporator. Essentially, this means your compressor is not cooling. Could it be possible that the refrigerator was positioned on its side or back during delivery? This could be a potential cause of the issue you're facing. I hope this information is helpful to you!
@@onlineappliancetech I used a dolly and might got to a 45 angle position but not on a side.. is that something that can be fixed or the fridge has no solution? I can hear water movement on the back when it's turned on. Again thank you for answering and for that great video.
Hello after activate test 14 to force refrigerator/freezer defrost should it display on? I have the code 0202 my freezer defrost is not working I did all the tests and it seems like everything is good.what could it be? What else should I do? Thank you in advance I hope you can help me
Error 0202 indicates five consecutive abnormal defrosts in the freezer. Essentially, this means the thermistor is signaling the main control to initiate defrosting due to frost buildup. The cause could be a faulty thermistor or a door that's not closing properly, allowing heat to enter the refrigerator. This added heat makes the evaporator work harder to remove it, leading to quicker frost formation and more frequent defrost cycles. I recommend checking all door seals for any signs of frost, as this could indicate a seal that needs replacing. Also, ensure the condensers at the back are clean, as dirt can lead to increased temperatures along the refrigerator's back wall, forcing the evaporator to remove more heat. Lastly, check the temperature reading of the evaporator thermistor in test mode to see if it matches the actual freezer temperature. Hope this helps!
My Ge GE PVD28BYNFS was dispensing water and ice, dumb me i watched your video and pressed the 3 buttons, and started messing with it pressing buttons and looking for errors, and then all codes were erased, then I unplugged for 5 minutes display came back on but with the code "NC" water doesn't come out anymore and ice hear kind of doing something but then nothing happens, the ice bucket is full, just cant get back to the ice maker and water to come out nor the wifi comes out anymore when settings s pressed, please help!!

I was getting Fault Code "0601", and I bought a new ice maker, but I am still getting the same fault code. Here are my tests: Prior to replacing ice maker: Manually filled tray with 3 oz water, it froze, it dumped, it filled water tray, froze, ice melted and evaporated. Had to repeat entire process, and always the same. After replacing Ice Maker: Manually filled tray with 3 oz water, it froze, it dumped, it DID NOT fill water tray, and threw same code (and possibly kept working but had no water/ice). Had to repeat entire process, and always the same. Any ideas what to test to try to make it work again?
@@evanwittig3976 Ha - I did not, BUT... I ordered a "new" ice maker from Ebay (but it was not new and it did not work). I sent it back. I ordered a new ice maker from GE, and IT WORKED. The funny thing is that I went almost 2 years buying ice before finally fixing the ice maker. We were selling our home, and our realtor did not tell the buyers that the ice maker did not work, so I went ahead and bought the new one. Then I only got to use it for about 3-4 weeks before moving. LOL.
Any updates to this? Same issues more or less. Force water fill to ice maker, pump runs but won’t fill. Manually poured water, won’t freeze. Ran rake test, nothing at all. Seem to be having multiple issues, pretty cool for a just under 4K fridge
Anyone else find the compressor on this model to be noisy? I'm going crazy here. Noise started after owning for 2 years. My previous fix for when I reached my breaking point was unplugging the fridge, let it sit for 15-30 mins, then plug it back in. A repairman said I shouldn't do this because I could hurt electronics inside. With this video, I discovered I can get the compressor to quiet down for awhile by entering diagnostic mode, then exiting it. What a piece of garbage this new "technology" is. GE should publish the operational decibel rating on the Chinese parts they use and up sell us on special soundproofing or upgraded quieter compressors. NOISE LEVEL IS A FEATURE GE.
Thank you so much for this video. My ice machine has not been making ice for a while now. Any suggestions on what I should try next? I also ran test 99, and it looks like the water is still not coming out into the ice maker. Not sure where to go from here.

Did you figure this out? Mine is basically doing same thing and think I narrowed it down to the chain harness being bad on the convertible drawer
Can anyone help me with replacing the evaporator fan motor on a GE refrigerator, model number PVD28BYNBFS?
Found that my Part # CF02C04 L 0 0 06 F 04 Ebraco Refrigerator Electronic Control Unit
What is the problem you are having with your refrigerator?
I just had mine installed today. My display numbers will not fully display.
It should be covered under warranty if it was just installed
How do I get out of test code?
If necessary, unplug the unit and then plug it back in.
i have e5 can you help
Mine says nc and no buttons seem to work. Any ideas?

If power is reaching the main control but you're experiencing no lights and no functionality, it seems the main control itself may be the problem.
