@@WtTw-x2l The only thing I can think of if it’s not screwed on, there has to be a latch (latches) somewhere that hold it in place. Unless it’s glued on. Your best bet would be to search for a manual for your particular model to see how the assembly is held in place. Good luck!

Thanks for the clear cut video w/fix! My garage fridge was exactly how you showed it would be! The electrical panel that I removed had the ice buildup. The hole in the back of the fridge was clogged w/debris. After clearing the obstruction w/a round brush, and squirting water in the hole to make sure there wasn't an obstruction further down in the line I put it back together and plugged it in. Thanks again!

Thanks for the great video. I had some food particles that lodged further down the drain tube and I was unable to clean it out with a wire because the drain tube is not straight and narrows as it travels to the bottom. I was also unable to clean the tube from their bottom. What I did to clear the drain hose was to squirt liquid bleach into the top drain hole with a turkey baster and let it set until it cleared the blockage. I then rinsed it with plain water until the blockage was completely gone.

worked great I looked at a couple different videos but this was the exact model but what I did as well was take a shop vac and take off that piece of cardboard in the back on the bottom of the fredge and if you look you will see a black hose . slide that off and put the shop vac on it and if you go inside the fredge see if it has suction on the tube hole. that way you make sure its all unclogged. also but removing that cardboard and doing this you can clean out all the dust it builds up alot.

I use an air compressor and blow out the hole in the back wall as well. If you pull out the fridge from the wall and have wife or kid check to see if the air blows out the tube in the back of the fridge into the catch tray. Some models may have a piece of cardboard across the bottom in the back where the compressor, etc. is. You may need to remove it so they can check the tube for air flow when you blow out the drain tube.

I got to feeling bad about selling a leaky fridge but so glad I found your video, which gave me (66 y/o grandma) the confidence to fix it! Turned out the bio-slime plug was lodge way down-inside the channel running inside the body of the fridge, so I snaked it out with some flexible wire, ran hot water through it using a long flexible funnel. Now I can sell this old fridge and not worry about it being someone else's problem.

It's pretty painless. Take out the four screws, unplug the tray from the nipple in the back. I put a nylon over the hose of a vacuum cleaner, and sucked goop out of the drain hose in the back. With the nylon to catch it, I could see exactly what was in there. You can do this in less time than it would take to call the landlord.

The only thing I can think of is condensate. I would check if the door(s)seal properly when closed.

@@weekendwarrior3814 I had come to the same conclusion and that there has to be a comtainer or reseptavle for condensation under or near the compressor and coling loops that handles off-run when thee is high humidity and relatively cool ambient air is thrown in the mix. Guessing the receptable is overflowing before it gets the chance to evaporate.

Hi! I have this exact rfridge. I did what you said and there wasn't any blockage. I still have water collecting in bottom under crisper bins. Any other ideas?
    I appreciate your help!

Hi, the only thing I can think of is the drain hole from the freezer may be misaligned with the tray and water spilling out and finding its way to the bottom. Not a 100% but work checking. Good luck.

I'm still experiencing dripping as well even though I cleared the drain hole and even made sure the hole it connects to is free of debris. So, it didn't work for me, either. ~ 😞

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have the exact same fridge shown in your video and have been having water pooling at the bottom for years. I’d just been mopping up the water every other week with a towel! Lol. Now it’s fixed and it was amazing to see ice in the tray and a lot of gunk in the ‘nipple’. You just saved me an expensive repair bill. Merry Christmas! 🎅🏻

Thanks! We did the fix but couldn't figure out how to flush water down the tube, we didn't have a syringe. We are keeping our fingers crossed that cleaning out the channel in the tray will do the trick. Thanks for the video! My husband was ready to go get a new fridge!

This was incredibly helpful. I followed instructions -- a snap, if you have a 1/4 socket driver -- and it all worked exactly as described. I found some slimy goo in the nipple and in the tray, and cleaned them both out. I suppose it's possible that there's a blockage somewhere in the drain line, causing it to back up, but if that had been the case, I'd have expected to find water in the drain line, and I didn't. So, I think this solved the problem. If not, I'll try to snake it, perhaps with a bit of coax cable, since I've found that to be an ideal snake for certain plumbing applications. At any rate, thanks for this. In their wisdom the Frigidaire folks don't seem to have any online information on how to do simple repairs like this, and the manual doesn't even mention that there's a drain line back there. The word "nipple" doesn't come up either, but there might be something else going on there!

Man. I was searching Maytag manuals, videos, and forums for this exact problem, but didn’t trust my luck removing anything. Thanks for this video - it’s compatible with Maytag model MTB2193AR! Fished out a whole lot of yuck from the clogged drain!

Thank you for the explanation and demonstration: this is extremely useful information. I cannot believe how much water pools at the bottom of the fridge due to this problem. Frigidaire in general is not as reliable in terms of longevity as it used to be (minus this problem). God bless you!

This worked for me. A side note: Consider then flushing the lines with a diluted mix of bleach, especially if your contaminants were bacterial. Mine was mostly mineral, rust colored.

This must be the procedure for my Maytag fridge. I watched another video, where the drain hole is down just above the crisper drawers on that model, but my fridge doesn't have a drain opening in that location.
