UPDATE: The director of the series, Ali Selim, confirmed the gown & walking struggles means Rhodey was a Skrull since Civil War: “A lot of people have asked about, ‘Definitively, when did Rhodey...?’ I think his legs not working in the end of episode six and him being in the hospital gown points to ‘Captain America: Civil War’." Look, I don't like the decision either, but we can't deny the decision happened. I agree, lots of Rhodey's behavior in Infinity War and Endgame don't line up with him being a Skrull, and clearly that wasn't the intent of Don Cheadle, the Russo Brothers, and Markus and McFeely. The best we can hope for is a multiverse reset at this point.
Wow. Just finished rewatching Infinity War and End Game. This decision doesn’t line up at all and makes no sense for the character. Bad call by the director, IMO.
I mean, he was instructed by Marvel Studios not to read the actual Secret Invasion comics, so I guess the only point of reference he got of Rhodes legs injury was probably that ending scene in Civil War. When in fact, we know for sure this probably isn't the case
He can't have been a Skrull since Civil War because Gravik only started kidnapping people after he turned against Fury. Which should have happened after Endgame since we know that Gravik was the leader of the Harvest Collectors then and was still working with Fury. Wearing a hospital gown doesn't prove anything. He could've been taken during a visit to the hospital after his injuries in Endgame
Possibly he could have been getting some updates to implants when he was taken post Endgame. I don't think Marvel would retcon over 7 years of film involving Rhodey.
It’s not jus the hospital gown, You fools. It’s the context clues! He can’t walk all of a sudden? Why would he need help out if he’s been healed since I’m guess end of Endgame or Falcon and Winter Soldier, not to mention the constant dialogue of “How long we been here?” By Ross or Giah stating “You been hostage for a long time.” It’s like y’all are ignorantly choosing to ignore these facts.
@@WhiteGW-fq8pn Well it’s been nice knowing you Marvel! Well done at absolutely killing your franchise. Like the writers must have been on something cause you never ever ever pull something like that when writing. Like who in their right mind would do that? They just completely destroyed like 4 movies. What the heck?! Well, I consider them an official dead franchise.
@@The_Falcon27bro your going to watch whatever they dropped and you know it stop the cap. And understand every comic gets rewrote and revised which gives us the multiverses. This is a separate universe from the comics. You're too deep in, to just stop. But it's never too late to grow up.
Killing Maria Hill was pointless. Making G'iah that powerful (besides to win the obvious fight) was pointless, which makes Talos' death pointless. And if they retcon Rhodey THAT far, this series is just a punch in the gut to the true fans. 😭 I hope there's at least correlation with the leg braces, which would make the replacement much more recent. With Rhodey's connection to Tony, and Tony's death, they're messing with people's emotions too deep. 😅
I just won't accept the idea that rhody was a skrull through the whole infinity war/end game period. It would be so wrong how could rava get attached to Tony and be emotional about his death. There must be a better explanation about when he was swapped it might be a little later to the events of end game I believe that rhodey was swapped somewhere during or after the events of falcon and the winter soldier
Everyone is saying it's been since civil war based on him being in a gown when he is saved. My question is couldn't it just has easily been after endgame. He still needed his machine legs and suit to walk in endgame if I am not mistaken. Yet in Secret Invasion he can walk without it. Indicating he had surgery to correct his spinal cord damage. He could have easily been swapped during this surgery to fix his legs instead of after civil war. The reason he tries to walk out of the skrulls containment thing is because for a moment he thinks he is waking up after his surgery to fix his legs.
Ross' blood was red in S1 as was the skrull that was tortured in E2. The blood only reverts back to purple upon death, or amputation in the case of the tortured skrull.
@@cornixregina We don’t know when Ross was swapped, and I don’t believe the “blood only turns purple on death or dismemberment “ at all. Also, none of that explains Rhodey having to crawl from the rubble, or still wearing the leg braces at Starks funeral and also in FATWS.
Yeah because you wear a hospital gown for any number of things and I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a check up mri or something which would require taking his braces off and could explain why he expected to be able to walk but couldn’t
I think a better tell of when Rava and Rhodey switched would be if you watch when he is wearing his leg braces. Rhodey wears them from Civil War up until Endgame then when we see him again in Falcon and Winter Solider he suddenly doesn't have them anymore. I think it would make the most sense for the swap to occur then as there is a visual clue to the audience that something is wrong.
Rhodey was taken after endgame, the skrull pretending to be him wouldn’t pretend to be paralyzed, to drag it’s self through water in the middle of a battle, when completely alone, it would just get up and walk.
If you mean the moment when the compound was destroyed he absolutely would continue faking because 1. Skrull invaders are trained to never break character, it’s like method acting, and 2. He would keep faking because he was in the same room as the rest of the avengers when he the explosion happened, him suddenly walking when he knows the others are a most a few feet away wouldn’t be smart. A bigger point tho is that in that scene he’s bleeding red so it’s more likely he was taken after Endgame, maybe went to the hospital to get his leg braces back
As other comments have said: - Rhodey bled in End Game and that was red - It is logical to get a check up after being in a huge ass fight, whilst suffering a spinal injury I also think that the surprise about being hurt is just because he doesn't have the braces on, and he'd probably expect to have them added back by the time he came too, also radiation has been a big key throughout the series, do we think that area was fully shielded from the effect?
Not only that... we have seen Talos needing to fight turning back when he was severly injured. Rhodey literally got a building dropped onto him and nearly drowned... so no way Rhodey wouldn't have turned back. They also need to adress why Gravik wouldn't just copy to samples he got from the Harvest before returning it to Fury. They also need to adress they Ravaa didn't knock out Nebula after they got the Power Stone and give it to Gravik. Gravik didn't turn until after Endgame.
@@matthewwest6039 Yeah. People don't realize that exactly because of his legs not working after Endgame due to the building that fell on him, he needed to do a hospital check-up and due to the severity, probably meant he needed to stay overnight, hence the hospital gown.
When we found out Rhodey was a skrull impersonator all I could think about was his fall in Civil War. It’s going to be sad to see his reaction to finding out that Tony passed away if Rhodey has been a Skrull this entire time. But maybe Rhodey be taken out of the pod is having trouble walking because the Skrulls removed the Stark tech that continued to help him walk through all the movies because the laceration to his spine was incurable to an extent.
I think for shock value they’re inference is he was taken right after Civil War, but to your point about Rhodes being of a certain age and he could have been wearing the hospital gown for any number of reasons when he was taken by the Skrulls. But the most logical conclusion he needed help walking was because he didn’t have the leg braces with him. The Skrulls could have taken the braces to complete their disguise because it could not be easily replicated.
We don't know exactly why Rhodey seems confused walking out. EVERYONE who was replaced seemed disoriented coming out of the building. I suppose Marvel could later compensate for the memory lapses by saying the machine works both ways: retrieving memories and implanting them.
@@emilyk5168 it still looks like he tries to walk. Also they wouldn't put him in the gown of it was after civil war. It was done purpesly so we could connect the dots and realize just how long he has been gone.
Also I feel like he still needs help from his brace which is why he can’t walk. Also it can be a combination of that and some muscle wasting from being in sleep mode for a bit. I still believe he must have been taken after End Game maybe during a routine follow up visit for his injuries.
I don't think Rhodey has been a Skrull for long considering Gravik was part of the team of Skrulls Fury sent into the aftermath of the Battle of Earth to collect samples. So, since Gravik and Fury were still cordial then, there would be no reason for a Skrull aligned with Gravik to impersonate Rhodey. Possible shortly after this, Gravik broke ties with Fury and Talos, and had someone close in the facility able to subdue and impersonate Rhodey.
Gravik is implied to only turned after Endgame, but Talos says there is a million skrulls and unknown number on Earth, Gravik's set up looks primitive compared to the one shown at the end, so entirely possible though he took charge during Secret Wars who knows how long there have been skrulls working against Fury...
I think Rhodey being a Skrull started after the events of Endgame, as he was still wearing the leg braces, evidenced by the funeral scene. Plus, Fury also sent Gravik and a couple other Skrulls to obtain the blood after the Battle of Earth, so at the time Gravik was still working with Fury. It would only be by 2025-26 that Gravik stopped working with him.
I think it's safe to assume that whenever he appears post-civil war with that robotic legs, that is the real Rhodey. The only appearances where he didn't wear those are TFATWS and Secret Invasion. And also it just don't make sense for Gravik to go rogue and snatching people before the snap. Gravik also mentioned that the idea of Skrull's invasion begin recently after he saw Fury's coming back to life and he went straight to S.A.B.E.R., abandoning the Skrulls on earth.
The Rhodey who loved the "Tony Stank" line was definitely the original. That points to him being Skrull'd sometime after Civil War. Also, maybe he got so used to Stark's robot legs that he hasn't tried to use his own legs in awhile, hence his confusion at them not working right.
To my mind, Skrhodey’s first canonical appearance is F&WS. Rhodey goes in for additional spinal treatments post-Endgame and the Skrulls snatch him up in recovery. Rhodey’s legs would still be atrophied, hence the trouble walking in SI and Skrhodey has the excuse not to wear the leg braces.
Rhodes was NOT a Skrull all that time! Maybe after End Game the skulls thought he'd be the easiest to take because he has no real power, but influential enough to corrupt the government. His limping can easily be explain from years of lack of movement and muscle deterioration
Indeed. Rhodey was among the few actual humans without superpowers. Those are easier to replicate. Pretty much the reason why the rebel Skrulls didn't impersonate the other Avengers.
Skrulls' blood being red vs purple, especially prior to Secret Invasion, has been inconsistent. Even in Secret Invasion, the Skrull who was tortured in Episode 2 in the butcher shop bled RED blood from his nose and face until Falsworth severed his finger, and the blood reverted to purple. It requires a more serious injury than a simple laceration to bleed purple.
That wouldn’t make sense cause if he was taken after endgame why does he have a hospital gown on? And why is he still limping like he just got injured instead of walking normally like the skrull was?
Gravik was implied to have turned after Endgame, so I don’t think Rhodey was a Skrull until after that. Remember that Fury had Gravik get at least some of the blood samples for the Harvest, meaning he’d needed to have trusted Gravik at that point with 100% certainty. Personally, I think Rhodey was captured right after Endgame because the only other time he had issues walking was at the destruction the Avengers facility. It was more likely during that where he got switched. Otherwise why would he have issues if he was a Skrull
I think the spinal cord damage on Rhodey is permanent, which means he always needs the leg braces to walk. Obviously sometimes time after end game he went to the hospital for a checkup, took off the braces and got kidnapped.
I truly hope that Rhodes was not a Skrull this whole time. It would be horrific for them to have ruined the moment of Rhodes being there for all of Infinity War and Endgame.
@@heem8232 Yes but the Rhodeys behavior during Infinity war and Endgame don't really feel like he was an skrull, also I know Skrulls are really good at pretending to act like someone else but still the chemistry Rhodey has with the other Avengers really feels like they are all non skrull friends that have known each other their for a long time. I still hope Rhodey Wasnt a skrull during Infinity War and Endgame because he began to be a fan favorite during those two movies with his personality.
Until it specifically stated, in a future marvel title, I think he was himself all the way through endgame. I believe he was taken between the events of endgame and falcon and the Winter soldier. Up until that point, we saw him bleed real blood, needing a brace to walk, and or wearing the war machine suit. We did not see him walk on his own until falcon and the Winter soldier which tells me that is when he became a scrull. The reason why he couldn’t walk when he was rescued at the end of secret invasion is because he has spinal injuries. This is a very permanent injury, and probably will need aid to walk for the rest of his life.
I think the fact we very pointedly didn't get an answer to the question at the end of this episode is _because_ the writers wanted to see fan reaction/speculation before they made any decisions about how far back this change was made. The fact they had the question asked in-episode and made a point of showing it without an answer stands out to me.
but they legit cant go any further back then endgame. gravik was still on furys side collecting the dna from the battle it wasnt until fury was blipped back then left agian and didnt return that gravik turned against him
@@lkangarooThat is definitely true, but he wouldn’t have done anything until after the Blip, but with the DNA collection, he thought it be something he could have done should it come to it
Really? His behavior changed in secret invasion, not before . And the best of it all......Gravik went rogue AFTER Endgame.... So....yeah, there was no need to take Rhodes, because Gravik's plan didnt exist yet
It would make sense if he had gone to a hospital for injuries after endgame since a building fell on him. He couldve been one of the first peolel to be replaced and his walking issue would make sense if hed been there for a few years and his legs are still weak
I believe Rhodey's replacement occurred after Endgame. I think the technology that the War Machine suit possesses (Stark technology) could easily have identified whoever was inside the suit as a Skrull or "non-human".
That I don't really know. Skrulls replicate at the molecular level, and as far as we know Tony had no reason to think that Skrulls would be a thing or that they would be a threat.
My opinion....just my thoughts. Rhodes didnt get grabbed until after End Game. The reason he could walk once released from the pod is because he no longer had the Stark Legs on. That was probably removed once he was subdued. But as they say....more will ve revealed once Armor Wars comes out
I believe you’re wrong on this, he became a Skrull when he’s no longer wearing leg braces in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In endgame, he was still wearing leg braces so not a skrull
I truly think that Rhodes was switched sometime after Tony’s funeral before the captain America series. And the reason he was surprised that he couldn’t walk is because either he said that because he realizes he doesn’t have his braces on or he was in the hospital to get some type of corrective surgery
I think Rhodes would've been captured after endgame, after the funeral since it's the start of the skull rebellion, the time they're harvesting DNA. He might've been doing a therapy when he was replaced. The reason that he was trying to walk without realizing he didn't have his leg support is because he thought he had it on
I think he struggled to walk after being awoken NOT because he had been swapped out so long ago but, because he wasn't wearing the tech that assisted him in doing so. I'm surprised that wasn't brought up. Just because he was wearing a hospital gown doesn't mean he was swapped out right after his spine injury. But, if that's the case, I'm curious to see where this goes.
In endgame when the Avengers headquarters is detroyed, you see Rhodey actually crawling and is unable to move his legs much. Having him be a skrull after civil war makes very little to no sense. God the MCU has gone to shit.
I feel like they only put Rhodey in that hospital gown so that there are arguments to be made for Rhodey being a Skrull for longer than two years at most lol. They *want* us to theorize about it, because if he *wasn't* in that hospital gown I think there would legit be no reason to even suspect him being taken before Endgame
yeah, there is. the dialogue of both ross and g’iah calls specific attention to how long RHODEY, and rhodey only, has been in the pod / kept captive by the skrulls. plus, he’s the only one who appears to have trouble walking or functioning, and he also appears most disoriented.
@@aspen34 If Rhodey was in the pod for 2 years, that's probably still longer than most other people who were kept captive. Obviously he has trouble walking because his legs are paralyzed and he doesn't have the leg braces. I'll give you the disorientation thing though
I think it was after Endgame that he got switched, maybe by Falcon & the Winter Soldier but not before. His struggle to walk could be him not having the exo-legs he was used to having and may have been wearing during or right before getting snatched.
I can't accept that. And it shows the director hasn't given it much thought either from his comments... Sure he went under to mend his severed spinal cord. But he still needed the braces and LOTS of physical therapy to walk again. If Rhodey was snatched right after surgery and put in a pod then when giah and the others helped him out they'd need to be fully carrying him, not just giving him a shoulder to lean on... This would be a Rhodey that had surgery on a spinal cord and then got strapped to a board for 9 years, no chance he's walking after that. It makes most sense he was snatched at a check up or something after Endgame and the reason he's struggling is because he's been propped up for a couple years when he wasn't yet fully mended.
Unless they ret-con it, Rhodey was bleeding red (not purple) when Thanos blew up the Avengers compound and was trying to help rocket. So he must must have been swapped after the battle. That would still give a couple of years of him being absent. Everett Ross on the other hand, who knows. Maybe after Wakanda announced their vibranium, because when he was being treated by Shuri he should've reverted back to true self.
@@gaventovar5820 That is my hope. It makes sense with the timeline of Skrulls breaking away. But it could have been before WF and Skrull Ross unintentionally contributed to his divorce (he had a wedding ring in BP1). Don't have much to go on since Freeman doesn't have a lot of MCU appearances. We don't even know if he was blipped or not.
Rhodey’s always been unable to walk without his braces. He could’ve just been disoriented. And Gravik’s invasion started AFTER Endgame. It’s impossible for Rhodey to have been a Skrull since Civil War. A hospital gown means nothing.
I think Rhodey being in hospital was just the best and most vulnerable time for him to be grabbed which could have easily happened after endgame. If it happens any other way it will not be good
He is a skrull after civil war, since the plot of armor wars will be rhodey retrieving and stoping everybody acquiring tonys tech. And since he just learned tonys death, he will pursue those people or group. If he was the real deal after end game, will he allowede these people to have his bestfriends tech? I dont think so.
Rhodey being gone since Civil War, not realizing how things have changed so much, including the death of his best friend will make his story in Armor Wars amazing. I can’t wait to see it now!
@@MarkAdams-m2f it is, unless they want to contradict their own writing. They've implied its not possible because gravik was still working WITH fury in endgame collecting the harvest meaning they didnt staty kidnapping and swapping anyone yet.
I guess we could assume that maybe Rhodey went into a surgery to potentially fix his paralysis and he got snatched after they prepped him so he’s surprised that the surgery didn’t happen. That way we keep pre Endgame the real Rhodes and we can place the taking of Rhodey any time after that.
Rewatch the movies people, end game he bleed red. Civil war he got back messed up. All the movies after that he had the braces Tony made for him. Falcon and the Winter soldier no leg braces, So he was snatched after Endgame in my opinion. All the characters development Rhoddy went thru would be all for nothing. I don’t think the writers would let happen. At most Rhoddy has been a Skrull for two years. Which is still a long time ! Like G’iah said.
I wonder if Marvel let A.I. make this timeline decision. Because during Endgame, when Rhodey ejects from his suit underground, he has human blood on his face.
Surely the biggest problem with Rhodey being taken from the hospital is that if he’d had any surgical procedure done on him it would have revealed that he wasn’t human. Also, any blood tests would have given the lab cause for concern (even if red from a conscious Skrull, shapeshifter blood will be pretty noticeably different from human blood under a microscope).
Something happened in-between End Game and this. My guess is that the switch was made when whatever gave him his legs back again, (maybe a surgery?) and he went in for something and got swapped out. The Skrulls would have no reason especially since they were on team Fury during end game. ScRhodey was likely planted once Fury abandoned earth on the ship. It’s the motive that it happened that early that doesn’t make sense.
So rhody saw a planet available when they killed thanos in "the garden" and never thought to mention it as an option for the skrulls to live in?? It doesnt make sense
not every planet is habitable for skrulls. that’s the whole point. plus, this one was occupied. by thanos. and we don’t know for sure that there isn’t anything else there, too.
@@aspen34 cap marvel said in endgame there were no life forms and thanos died and rhody was there and he is a skrull at that point so it must be habitable
They need a planet that is safe from the Kree, not just habitable. They could go there now with Giah being a massively OP Super Skrull to protect the planet from the Kree.
I wish I had that much trust in the current batch of writers. It’s starting to feel too much like the end of GoT where continuity just didn’t matter anymore.
I dont see this happening. No way Rhodey was a skrull since Civil War especially since even after Endgame, the Skrulls were still on Fury's side so why would they have needed to replace Rhodey since then? Even Fury said in Episode 5 of Secret Invasion that Gravick was still on his side and was in charge of the collection of DNA for the Harvest. Plus him being a skrull since then would undermine so many moments since civil war up until Endgame. I personally believe Rhodey was replaced sometime during FATWS.
We didn’t see Rhodey’s legs as he was helped out of the compound so it’s only speculative at this point. However the bigger clue is that Rhodey gave intel on Ronin/Hawkeye’s murderous rampage, which pays off Talos’s line to Fury re: how Skrulls were the backbone of his pivotal spy network. Hope more of this gets fleshed out in Armor Wars.
I feel that Rhodey would have been captured after the big battle with Thanos. We've seen the chaos of half of earth coming back randomly in WandaVision. He could've easily been captured in a hospital checkup with so many people returning unexpectedly
Not so sure what issue is if it wasn’t Rody who got made into skrull what other character does it make sense for other than him within the history of the mcu
I think he got taken after endgame, during endgame when he had to eject himself from the suit he wasn’t able to walk and had to drag his legs behind him to free rocket. Probably went to the doctor after endgame to check on injuries and got taken
Rhodes can’t have been a skrull since civil war. Fury confirmed he sent Gravic after endgame to collect samples of the battle after the blip. Rhodes was human during Infinity war and endgame cuz he couldn’t walk. He could have been abducted after the battle when he was getting medical care. After all he is human and partially disabled. Gravics motivation was because Fury blipped and came back but didn’t stay on earth to fulfill his promise. Could never have been civil war.
I think it could have been after Endgame. Maybe he had to go back for another surgery, and they grabbed him then. Or at least grabbed him after the snap in the 5 years gap. Or even after the battle in Endgame, he had to be in the hospital for an injury and they grabbed him there, so the funeral scene could Skrhody
Honestly at this point just wipe the slate clean and do a reset. Marvel hasnt felt the same since endgame and the shows have done nothing but convolute the timeline and destroy the stories we thought we knew. Lets just wipe the slate clean.
8:45 I think we got to see how it worked when Fury took the kid hostage at the Navel Officers house. The kid was likely human, but the Skrull father honestly cared for the kid and surrendered to save him.
I think it was deliberate choice by Marvel to get us interested in Armour Wars. I believe it was a check up after endgame maybe he was even getting it fixed before getting snatched. It may be uncomfortable to thing about but it has got me more interested in armour wars👀
Secret invasion is yrs after these movies so it's no writing to actually connect Rhodey to a skrull at any point it's just whenever the writers say he was
Yo I just thought of this. Didn't Rhody get hurt in every movie after civil war. I never saw him bleed purple also wouldn't the doctors that worked on him would've noticed he isn't human 👀👀
I hope this is the story they go with. It would just be far more interesting for both characters, the skrull and Rhodey. It means the Skrull was loyal to humanity and Tony but became jaded or radicalized. It also means Rhodey is due for a LOT of trauma when he finds out all that happened since civil war.
Another possibility is that Rhodey has been played by more than one Skrull. The earlier imposter was more emphatic and was replaced by a more aggressive Skrull for Secret Invasion .
Because someone betray fury before because we see a scene wirh sonya and giah that more People is been replaced with skrulls and this is something giah dident now about. People also belive the president is either a kree or the skrull empire
Yh icl everything after endgame aint cannon. Aint no way urr gonna tell me rodey was a skrull in infinity war and endgame. Bunch of bs if u ask me. If it was after endgame it's plausible but if it is after civil war it ain't cannon to me
I think it would be really bold for rhodey to be confirmed a skrull since civil war, but i doubt it will be like that because of all the emotions during endgame. I do really hope he was a skrull since then, though. It shows the gravity of the situation and lets you know that the skrulls mean business.

This is beyond messed up if they really did that to Rhodey. We’re all invested to that Rhodey and they’ll just kill him off like that and telling us he’s a skrull all this time. That’s messed up. They better streamline this plothole.
In infinity war when thanos ship shoots rockets at the avengers base and they go underground rhodys blood is red not purple so during infinity war so he couldn’t have been a skrull since his blood wasn’t purple
well you could also say Rhodey didn’t realize his exo-legs were removed. (not to mention just being disoriented from the machines like everyone else) last he remembers, they were on. now he’s waking up in a weird place and they’re gone (also went half his life with working legs, still probably weird for him) i just think it’s a big jump from a little detail
What about the likely event that a scrull impersonating a person was snapped while the person wasn't, and vice versa. I know it probably wouldn't change much, but surely that would have caused some sort of problems.
False The director didn’t confirm any actual time for the switch. Just an estimated time line. Also Rhodes couldn’t have been trapped since Civil War for a few reasons. During the EndGame battle Rhodes was definitely bleeding red. Also Gravik wouldn’t have commissioned the secret skrull swap at that time. He was still working WITH Fury to harvest the DNA.
I just saw another video that discussed this same topic, and they pointed out that Rhodey was bleeding from his forehead in Endgame when he got out of his suit under the rubble, and they noticed the blood was red not purple. Just a small detail but is it possible that he was swapped after that when he maybe needed medical attention after the big fight?
I remember in the comics when we learn of the skulls that replaced Avengers, I had the same icky feeling about losing established story lines. So, it’s pretty accurate to the effect the comic had
It does make sense that he would sign the wakanda accords if he was a scrull they were trying to collect samples from super-powered individuals they would literally have a catalog at that point to go back to
Also during endgame nebula says to Rhodey “I wasn’t always like this” and he responds by saying “me neither, but we work with what we got right” implying that he was a skrull and wasn’t always rhodey
UPDATE: The director of the series, Ali Selim, confirmed the gown & walking struggles means Rhodey was a Skrull since Civil War:
“A lot of people have asked about, ‘Definitively, when did Rhodey...?’ I think his legs not working in the end of episode six and him being in the hospital gown points to ‘Captain America: Civil War’."
Look, I don't like the decision either, but we can't deny the decision happened.
I'm not a fan of this at all. It cheapens everything that happened with Rhodey after Civil War.
the decision doesn't matter. marvel made changes with their characters plenty of times before it sold to disney. smh
Nope
People who have spinal injuries visit the hospital all the time. He fought an invasion during Endgame, went for a check-up and got taken imo.
Exactly
Yes I hope that makes sense
I literally said the same thing yesterday to my friend
yes!
nah that’s a stretch
He can't have been a Skrull since Civil War because Gravik only started kidnapping people after he turned against Fury. Which should have happened after Endgame since we know that Gravik was the leader of the Harvest Collectors then and was still working with Fury. Wearing a hospital gown doesn't prove anything. He could've been taken during a visit to the hospital after his injuries in Endgame
🙌🙌🙌
Possibly he could have been getting some updates to implants when he was taken post Endgame. I don't think Marvel would retcon over 7 years of film involving Rhodey.
It’s not jus the hospital gown, You fools. It’s the context clues!
He can’t walk all of a sudden? Why would he need help out if he’s been healed since I’m guess end of Endgame or Falcon and Winter Soldier, not to mention the constant dialogue of “How long we been here?” By Ross or Giah stating “You been hostage for a long time.”

I just won't accept the idea that rhody was a skrull through the whole infinity war/end game period. It would be so wrong how could rava get attached to Tony and be emotional about his death. There must be a better explanation about when he was swapped it might be a little later to the events of end game
I believe that rhodey was swapped somewhere during or after the events of falcon and the winter soldier
Rava would still have his memories so would feel the connection rhodey had with Tony.
@@MammothMoralshaving memories does'nt mean you automatically have a connection
Skrulls definitely form emotional attachments to humans, so it could have been a genuine connection.
Its called pretending buddy. U should know your mom pretends to love u HA
Not possible. He got hurt under the rubble in End Game and had to crawl out because of his paralysis. He also bled red in that same scene.
Ohhhh! Good point

He crawled in end game.
I am with you. Men (and women) go to hospitals all the time. Maybe he was at a hospital getting a check up for his injuries
Yeah because you wear a hospital gown for any number of things and I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a check up mri or something which would require taking his braces off and could explain why he expected to be able to walk but couldn’t

Yeah
I really hope Armor Wars takes place immediately after Secret Invasion so we can see his reaction to everything and we don’t just skip over it
It got cancelled apparently
I think a better tell of when Rava and Rhodey switched would be if you watch when he is wearing his leg braces. Rhodey wears them from Civil War up until Endgame then when we see him again in Falcon and Winter Solider he suddenly doesn't have them anymore. I think it would make the most sense for the swap to occur then as there is a visual clue to the audience that something is wrong.
Rhodey was taken after endgame, the skrull pretending to be him wouldn’t pretend to be paralyzed, to drag it’s self through water in the middle of a battle, when completely alone, it would just get up and walk.
Exactly!!
@@iVengeancee I’m using simple logic to point out an obvious fact, if that upsets you, that says more about you then it does my argument
A bigger point tho is that in that scene he’s bleeding red so it’s more likely he was taken after Endgame, maybe went to the hospital to get his leg braces back
And his forehead was bleeding RED
😂 You assume marvel have thought it through
I think the blood and the leg 🦵 braces let us know that he’s been the real War Machine until Falcon and the Winter Soldier
That’s the most logical way to look at it tbh
Yes that's how I see it too.
I agree and I think his reaction to not being able to walk was just him realizing or suddenly remembering that he didn't have his leg braces on
Exactly !
@@gaventovar5820That’s strong head canon.
As other comments have said:
- Rhodey bled in End Game and that was red
- It is logical to get a check up after being in a huge ass fight, whilst suffering a spinal injury
I also think that the surprise about being hurt is just because he doesn't have the braces on, and he'd probably expect to have them added back by the time he came too, also radiation has been a big key throughout the series, do we think that area was fully shielded from the effect?
Not only that... we have seen Talos needing to fight turning back when he was severly injured. Rhodey literally got a building dropped onto him and nearly drowned... so no way Rhodey wouldn't have turned back.
They also need to adress why Gravik wouldn't just copy to samples he got from the Harvest before returning it to Fury.
They also need to adress they Ravaa didn't knock out Nebula after they got the Power Stone and give it to Gravik.
Gravik didn't turn until after Endgame.
Also, in Endgame when that building fell on him, and he showered “Canopy! Canopy!” And then crawled out, his legs weren’t working…
@@matthewwest6039 Yeah. People don't realize that exactly because of his legs not working after Endgame due to the building that fell on him, he needed to do a hospital check-up and due to the severity, probably meant he needed to stay overnight, hence the hospital gown.
@@matthewwest6039 Very good spot!
It's totally possible that face is a "where the heck am I?" face. He looks up and not down at his legs.
@@emilyk5168 it still looks like he tries to walk. Also they wouldn't put him in the gown of it was after civil war. It was done purpesly so we could connect the dots and realize just how long he has been gone.
Yeah sure and they were also 100% exposed to crazy amounts of radiation the whoooole time.
@@nathanbinford5715 That'll do it. 🤢
This is the most clear explanation I've read, makes alot of sense
Bingo!
"SKRhodey," HA! 😂 Good One.
6:49 the glowy bit on the outside of his thigh tells us he's wearing a brace
This honestly makes the most sense. But I guess they didn’t want it to make sense.
This is how it should be.
All the other people were walking just fine.
I don't believe he's been a skrull since civil war, I believe he was taken after endgame, he had red blood on him in infinity war and endgame
Exactly good catch buddy
Skrulls' blood being red vs purple, especially prior to Secret Invasion, has been inconsistent. Even in Secret Invasion, the Skrull who was tortured in Episode 2 in the butcher shop bled RED blood from his nose and face until Falsworth severed his finger, and the blood reverted to purple. It requires a more serious injury than a simple laceration to bleed purple.
That wouldn’t make sense cause if he was taken after endgame why does he have a hospital gown on? And why is he still limping like he just got injured instead of walking normally like the skrull was?
I don’t believe he gets taken until after endgame as well, only because it would make more sense timing wise (in my opinion)
@@NewRockstars Gravik went rogue AFTER Endgame. After the DNA was taken.
Why would Rhodes be taken around civil war?
Sorry but if that is the case that’s not them (writers) ruining that moment, if that’s the case it would be perfectly in line with Skrull stories

I like that they shook things up with something so simple as Rhodey being a Skrull and altering how we look back at a bunch of moments
I think the fact we very pointedly didn't get an answer to the question at the end of this episode is _because_ the writers wanted to see fan reaction/speculation before they made any decisions about how far back this change was made. The fact they had the question asked in-episode and made a point of showing it without an answer stands out to me.

@@SomeRandomJackAss Vision would have 100% noticed though, especially since he monitored Rhodey's surgery.
But I’m just thinking that because it undermines everything with his story arc with tony
I feel so so bad for Rhodes. All those events he didn’t know. Sets up a great plot for armor wars
Gravik went rogue after Endgame.....who would take Rhodes then?......nobody.
Exactly
I think Rhodes would've been captured after endgame, after the funeral since it's the start of the skull rebellion, the time they're harvesting DNA. He might've been doing a therapy when he was replaced. The reason that he was trying to walk without realizing he didn't have his leg support is because he thought he had it on
That’s what I’ve been thinking, like think about it, the Skrulls turned roughly *after* the Battle of Earth, so why kidnap people before?? 🤔
I think it's great. It'll make for a great story in armor wars when it comes out
In endgame when the Avengers headquarters is detroyed, you see Rhodey actually crawling and is unable to move his legs much. Having him be a skrull after civil war makes very little to no sense. God the MCU has gone to shit.
I think he was there in endgame. I think he was just getting a check up at the hospital

I think Ross was kidnapped after the events of Wakanda Forever, he was on the run and defenseless, so he would have been an easy target to catch.

Rhodey being a scrull since Civil War is going to make Armor Wars a super emotional movie.

Rhodey was bleeding red in Endgame. So he was swapped after EG before TFATWS
I wish I had that much trust in the current batch of writers. It’s starting to feel too much like the end of GoT where continuity just didn’t matter anymore.
Clever
I dont see this happening. No way Rhodey was a skrull since Civil War especially since even after Endgame, the Skrulls were still on Fury's side so why would they have needed to replace Rhodey since then? Even Fury said in Episode 5 of Secret Invasion that Gravick was still on his side and was in charge of the collection of DNA for the Harvest. Plus him being a skrull since then would undermine so many moments since civil war up until Endgame. I personally believe Rhodey was replaced sometime during FATWS.
you make great points, but marvel might've just shat the bed on this
We didn’t see Rhodey’s legs as he was helped out of the compound so it’s only speculative at this point. However the bigger clue is that Rhodey gave intel on Ronin/Hawkeye’s murderous rampage, which pays off Talos’s line to Fury re: how Skrulls were the backbone of his pivotal spy network. Hope more of this gets fleshed out in Armor Wars.
I think it's after Endgame. Yes, he's surprised he can't walk, but that doesn't mean he didn't know he had a limp...
Stop talking BS, Rhodes was a Skrull after Endgame, not before. Seriously stop with this BS theories

it's been two steps forward four steps back lately... so i'm iffy
I feel that Rhodey would have been captured after the big battle with Thanos. We've seen the chaos of half of earth coming back randomly in WandaVision. He could've easily been captured in a hospital checkup with so many people returning unexpectedly
Rhodey bled during Endgame though when he was underground saving Rocket. They mightve fucked the continuity by claiming its been since civil war

Saddest part is he doesn't know his best friend was died to save the World. 😢
Things that dont exist:
Game of Thrones season 8
Marvel phase 4, 5
Indiana Jones 4 and 5
What about Sharron Carter also being a skrull? Haven't thought about that. Trying to make super soldiers
Making these movies and shows interconnected is starting to become a mess for Marvel
Why would the Skrulls kidnap Rhodey after Civil War if they went against Fury after Endgame?
I just won't accept the idea that Rhody was a Skrull through the whole infinity war/end game period. It would be so wrong how could rava get attached to Tony and be emotional about his death. There must be a better explanation about when he was swapped it might be a little later to the events of the end game I believe that Rhodey was swapped somewhere during or after the events of Falcon and the winter soldier He can't have been a Skrull since Civil War because Gravik only started kidnapping people after he turned against Fury. This should have happened after Endgame since we know that Gravik was the leader of the Harvest Collectors then and was still working with Fury. Wearing a hospital gown doesn't prove anything. He could've been taken during a visit to the hospital after his injuries in Endgame Another possibility is that Rhodey has been played by more than one Skrull. The earlier imposter was more emphatic and was replaced by a more aggressive Skrull for Secret Invasion. I believe Rhodey's replacement occurred after Endgame. I think the technology that the War Machine suit possesses (Stark technology) could easily have identified whoever was inside the suit as a Skrull or "non-human". Possible shortly after this, Gravik broke ties with Fury and Talos and had someone close in the facility able to subdue and impersonate Rhodey. I would say he was abducted after End Game. It’s reasonable to assume almost all of them needed medical attention afterward. The plan to take over didn’t start until after Fury was snapped
I think Rhodes would've been captured after the endgame, after the funeral since it's the start of the skull rebellion, the time they're harvesting DNA. He might've been doing therapy when he was replaced. The reason that he was trying to walk without realizing he didn't have his leg support is because he thought he had it on
I feel that Rhodey would have been captured after the big battle with Thanos. We've seen the chaos of half of Earth coming back randomly in WandaVision. He could've easily been captured in a hospital checkup with so many people returning unexpectedly As other comments have said: - Rhodey bled in End Game and that was red - It is logical to get a check-up after being in a huge ass fight, whilst suffering a spinal injury I also think that the surprise about being hurt is just because he doesn't have the braces on, and he'd probably expect to have them added back by the time he came too, also radiation has been a big key throughout the series, do we think that area was fully shielded from the effect? I guess we could assume that maybe Rhodey went into surgery to potentially fix his paralysis and he got snatched after they prepped him so he’s surprised that the surgery didn’t happen. That way we keep pre Endgame the real Rhodes and we can place the taking of Rhodey any time after that.
This is beyond messed up if they really did that to Rhodey. We’re all invested to that Rhodey and they’ll just kill him off like that and telling us he’s a skrull all this time. That’s messed up. They better streamline this plothole.
Hopefully rhodey makes it in cap America 4
So happy that morgan was with happy at the end of endgame and not with "rhodey"
In infinity war when thanos ship shoots rockets at the avengers base and they go underground rhodys blood is red not purple so during infinity war so he couldn’t have been a skrull since his blood wasn’t purple
well you could also say Rhodey didn’t realize his exo-legs were removed. (not to mention just being disoriented from the machines like everyone else) last he remembers, they were on. now he’s waking up in a weird place and they’re gone (also went half his life with working legs, still probably weird for him)
i just think it’s a big jump from a little detail
What about the likely event that a scrull impersonating a person was snapped while the person wasn't, and vice versa. I know it probably wouldn't change much, but surely that would have caused some sort of problems.
False The director didn’t confirm any actual time for the switch. Just an estimated time line. Also Rhodes couldn’t have been trapped since Civil War for a few reasons. During the EndGame battle Rhodes was definitely bleeding red. Also Gravik wouldn’t have commissioned the secret skrull swap at that time. He was still working WITH Fury to harvest the DNA.
I’ve ALWAYS wondered what that little “good luck” from Danvers meant. That’s crazy!!!!
He definitely WASN'T a skrull in Endgame because his blood was RED in the end battle
Thet only bleed purple when they’re about to die.
@@ashleywright1949cap when they are amputated or pierced they bleed purple cuz 💯✊🏽blood shit bruh he not a skrull
I remember in the comics when we learn of the skulls that replaced Avengers, I had the same icky feeling about losing established story lines. So, it’s pretty accurate to the effect the comic had
This gives Rodi a really cool twist now. I'm excited to find it out later
I definitely think Rhodes was a Skrull when he came up with the idea of snapping baby Thanos's neck 🤣🤣🤣
It does make sense that he would sign the wakanda accords if he was a scrull they were trying to collect samples from super-powered individuals they would literally have a catalog at that point to go back to
“Colonel Rhodes, you’ve been in a Skrull bunker since 2016.”
“Oh boy, I can’t wait to go see my best friend, Tony Stark!”
Also during endgame nebula says to Rhodey “I wasn’t always like this” and he responds by saying “me neither, but we work with what we got right” implying that he was a skrull and wasn’t always rhodey
