Blackbolt's death is definitely the most brutal death scene I've ever seen on any PG-13 film
I thought Mr. Fantastic's death was worse, actually. Considering how difficult he is to damage given his elasticity but still being ripped apart was horrifying
Reminded me of the end of episode one in Invincible
Was more like The Boys than MCU! Graphic
@@Richie_Godsil I think both of their deaths felt that way. Also, when Mr. Fantastic told Wanda about his wife and kids, I felt like he was talking about Pam, Cece, and Phillip from The Office, probably just because I know John Krasinski so well for his role as Jim in The Office.
13 year olds are getting tougher
Honestly that sequence of Wanda tried to possess another Wanda the first time and the first person perspective creeping on Wanda is just 👌
I also liked the side eye turn that Wanda gave to the camera right after
@@iCyberDev that subtle fourth wall breaking
Total Evil Dead move
I feel it was a nod to The Craft, where photos also moved and storms raged in pages of a book
is just ok?
All this drama could have been avoided if Strange had called Hawkeye to give a little lecture to Wanda
You mean the mow-hawked archer
@photag216 we think alike)
@@Tutt318 100%, lol
That'd be a poor movie
Well, when Hawkeye lost his kids he went a little buggo
Dr. Strange’s “I’ve buried worse” line could be a reference to him and his family having to bury his sister.
Mmmmm, naw, I don't think anyone would refer to saying "I've buried worse" when speaking of a loved one. When people say something like that it's more like a more atrocious individual or secret or something.
Maybe by the phrase "I've buried worth" maybe he's referencing the fact that he gave up on his chance to fix his hands
@@a.mp.m7340 but some people also use humor in some form to deal with pain.
@@dadjokesenpai Yes, that I know, but in the case of Dr.Strange, and going off how he told the story of his sister, where he sheded a tear. I don't believe he would use his sisters death in a humorous way.
@@a.mp.m7340 that could be attributed to the fact that he was talking to his variant which held more emotional weight
I saw Strange bowing to Wong in the end as a way of saying that Strange accepts that he doesn't have to be the one always "holding the knife" anymore and that he can come to terms with the power and responsibility being in someone else's hands.
He's just acknowledging Wong as the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth-616
I just liked that scene..showed that Benedict C. has no ego problems eventhough its his movie.
@@qwerttzizzi he definitely has ego problems, and big ones too. He's just accepting that he can't always let them get in the way
@@qwerttzizzi or hault his progression
@@yoyomayne how do you know that,
I think when Strange says “I’ve buried worse” he isn’t necessarily referring to a scarier foe or villain, but rather his younger sister who died at a young age. “Worse” implies that he still hurts about it even till today.
Or, hear me out, could just be a joke
@@redfortuneAgo Yeah, a joke about something he's buried, which we still have zero context of which makes it seem out of place.
@@redfortuneAgo strange has dark humor, but hes also very truthful. Even his lies have truth. He literaly has burried worse, just wants to seem like its nothing
or probably some hospital joke.
Remember that Strange doesn't talk about his sister probably because it's traumatizing for him, so talking about it in the way "buried worse" doesn't seem right
31:38 I don't think Vision existed in 838 considering that Ultron didn't go rogue and worked as planned.
wait why did ultron go rogue
@@adversity9664 he concluded that humanity needed to go
I mean this universes vision could just be human and lived a perfectly normal life. Not every version of everyone are gonna have the same story or same life y'know what I mean
@@hashirama1005 how would an alternate version of a robot be a human
@@anungunrama8882 how could an alternate version of Loki be an alligator?
Mysterio’s use of 616 was not a coincidence, it’s highly likely Guterman did research about the possibility of multiple universes and came across Erik Selvig’s hypothesis (which was written on his blackboard in Thor the Dark World).
I remember it being on his blackboard, but couldn't remember which Thor movie it was in.
Another thing I love the most about the ending is how Strange used his hands to repair his watch rather than use his magic like how he did in the beginning with his tie. Amazing character development!
i have a question about that though. i always thought that his hands were messed up after the accident and he never recovered from it (as shown by how he used magic to tie his tie in the beginning of the movie). so why are his hands okay here?
@isa most likely, why not use magic for mundane tasks?
yess he is a surgeon again (kinda)
His hands were repaired but a surgeon need precise hand control which strange lost . So he could still use his hands for all these tasks . But surgery needs complete nerver control which strange doesn't have anymore
I didnt pick up on that, thats cool.
Hilarious how everyone was so hyped up for the cameos and then Wanda folds the whole squad in 2 minutes.
It was always going to happen
I had a feeling which is why my expectations were low. It made the scene so much more awesome. My theater which was filled with kids weren't happy about it.
@@mattraczkowski6519 exactly idk why people thought they were gonna live lmao
Being a fan and Knowing the power they held, made the massacre was even cooler. Such a shocker
Ish was wild
Things I thought of while watching Multiverse Of Madness was how the yellow light of the Ultron sentries could mean the mind stone is their power source and when Mr.Fantastic portals in the portal looks like the tesseract which did hold the space stone so maybe they're incorporating the energy of the space stone with some teleportation technology
Interesting!
Seeing how strong strange has progressed each film he’s in is incredible
The Illuminati death scene actually got me excited cause this might mean that they might do full on r-rated movies like blade, ghost rider, punisher, and deadpool
They might since Disney plus has rated r shoes like punisher
I think Disney is starting to experiment with this to be sure. Multiverse of Madness is really one of the first horror films they've done that is actually intended to be a horror film.
OR it'll be the opposite, and this is Disney's way of trying to justify future movies being PG-13 while skirting the line of an R rated film.
Punisher might be the only character that if done without an R rating, I might not watch.
@@peterhernandez7817 but Deadpool without blood is like Eminem without offending someone
I haven’t seen anyone mention how Wanda’s motivation is that of a mother. It released Mother’s Day weekend and even Multiverse of Madness is M.o.M abbreviated
WOAHHH thats gotta be intentional. so subtle. nice find
holy crap! this!
The original release date for MOM was supposed to be immediately after Wandavison aired and was pushed back due to COVID/reshoots but cool find nonetheless.
Wow
EUGHH THATS FIRE 🔥🔥🔥
Strange isn't a hypocrite, his sacrifices are out of necessity while Wanda's is out of pure desire. The big deference is that fact that strange is always the defender while Wanda is the aggressor and really doesn't need to be doing any of this
The sheer power of the Scarlett Witch was amazingly brutal.
Ultimately undefeated against some of the most powerful beings across multiple universes.
Except vs infinity ultron
Dr. Strange's line, "Didn't you chart in the 60s?" is more likely referencing a musical group called the Fantastic Four that did chart in the 60s, which is a nod to the 2016 Doctor Strange when he was able to name a song, its band, and the year it charted while performing surgery.
Good catch 👍🏾
Wow I did not know that. That’s makes that line make sense now lol.
Woah... I didn't recognize the connection. Thanks
Not a Reference to the Fab Four The Beatles?
@@dcluvspie5777 tbh, I think "Fantastic Four" just fits better considering who he's saying it to. But these are all speculation anyway. Lol.
The Illuminati’s death scene reminded me a lot of the Guardians dying in Invincible. Such cool characters all gone in such short brutal moments. Was done super well from Marvels end.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that lol it was brutal
Yeah it reminded me of em! Seeing them all die really upset me 🥲
Same. Loved it haha
Agree
That sequence gave me The Boys vibes, but I totally understand your perspective.
Fun fact a 60's Soul group from Detroit called "Fantastic Four" they had a hit called "The Whole World is a Stage" in 1967 peaking at number 6 on the US Billboard R&B chart in 1967. It also charted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 63.
That scene where he used to those ghosts to fly over was craziest scene in the movie! Especially when he also used those ghosts to seal wanda.
It was the horror elements that made this film great for me. So refreshing, so unlike other marvel films. Hats off to the director.
You know what? I usually tend to really dislike and try to avoid horror movies, but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and I totally agree with you.
It was like the horror elements enhanced everything and made the movie much better than it would have been if those elements hadn’t been done so well.
I’m definitely impressed with the MCUs “first horror movie”
It was cool in this movie, but The Ring clip creeped me out.
It has the same vibe as Evil Dead movies (same director), which was iconic horror movies.
I can't agree more!! Enjoyed all the elements they used for this movie to make it different than the other marvel movies.
I definitely jumped at the scenes that were supposed to be jumpscares lmfao
I loved the fact that Wanda completely wrecked the Illuminati, it was the first time a villain brutally murdered a bunch of hero’s in such a unique ways. It really felt like something you’d read in a comic. The evil dead styled B-rated horror elements and comedy really made this movie fantastic!
Just posted this was very Deadpool 2. Just so deflating and also brings the movie back to the characters that were important to the movie at the same time
I wish it was just a bit harder. Lol I mean come on they’re the Illuminati. To me it felt rush. I love that they introduced multiple universes but it also feels like the deaths don’t really mean anything anymore
Similar to the boys and invincible
It reminded me of the start of the 2021 suicide squad where everyone was built up to be interesting characters, and then they just killed all of them in horrific ways
I’ll go further Tarantino style just brutal kills offscreen.
Another excellent performance by Olsen. Kudos to Raimi and to all the cast and crew of MOM. MCU remarkably made another marvelous film.
Some things I would like to put out there is that the empty seat might be for Dr Strange before he died.
Blackbolt probably didnt know his power still worked even after losing his mouth which made him scream at a small chance of breaking the skin or something.
Also Vision probably wasnt in 838 since Ultron was successfull and that their kid would have to be made with magic if he was made.
Also Mysterio's script writer could have dreamt about it which would somewhat make sense but it was obviously overlooked by the scriptwriters.
Or it 616 was just an easter egg. Like it is here
there were times where i genuinely was scared or creeped out by wanda’s powers, and those jump scares really did get me haha. i thought this movie was a fun watch! and i’m glad recent movies have been like that
I agree 100%
It felt like a Holloween movie
I usually avoid horror movies bcs of the jumpscares. However, luckily those jumpscares in mom didnt get me at all😂. I dunno maybe i watched it as a superhero movie n not a horror movie. So i was excited n full of curiosity most of the time during the movie lol
Definitely never jumped or got scared in this movie. Although I've never gotten scared or jumpy from actual horror movies. This was so tame compared to some of those so it never came off as horror to me. Still loved the movie though.
Wuss
I swear, "I love you in every universe" hits me harder than "I love you 3,000"
As cheesy as it is, I also loved the line.
Ummm no
@@TheEASTSIDECHICANO . Say yess it's better than endgame Dialogue
Glad I'm not alone, wasn't expecting that kind of romance bomb to drop.
It was not cheesy at all, it was tragically beautiful. The fact that they didn't kiss, hits home the tragedy of it.
Is funny how Dr. Strange ask wanda about the Multiverse when he has his own key or gate to any multiverse, in the first Dr. Strange movie, Mordo told Strange in Karma Taj during training "Mastery of the sling ring is essential to the mystic arts. They allow us to travel throughout the Multiverse" knowing how curious Strange is why he didn't visit or do any research.
Strange and his storyline is gradually becoming my favorite.
The scene with three-eyed Strange where he admitted any falling-off-a-building-dream any Strange had was his doing was such a small detail but it was super chilling and interesting. He was literally universe-hopping, killing Stranges across universes at an effort for “prevention” (stopping more incursions)
that's me whenever I get the dreams
One of the best moments.
Then it was him falling from the building
That is just petty af
23:43 bova these nuts
Gotta say, for an acting range playground, Elizabeth Olsen must be loving playing Wanda lately. The whole character is like a demo reel.
These guys are too good. Good job going through the stress of doing all this research 🧐 ⭐️
That was a really cool video, concise yet explorative. Just like the film. Thank you!
When Strange said “Didn’t you guys chart in the 60s”, he was talking about an actual band called The Fantastic Four who were around in the 60s and did chart.
That’s a band name? I thought maybe the fantastic 4 has been around since the 60s and they been trapped in the quantum real or negative zone.
That makes sense since Dr. Strange knows a lot about bands from the 60s and 70s as shown in the first film!
wow its true cool fact
They were called fabulous four which was kinda the derivative for the fantastic four anyway i believe
Wow!
In the first Dr Strange movie, after The Ancient One shows him magic, he asks "what did you put in that tea?" implying he's been drugged and was hallucinating. In this movie, Mordo did put something in the tea to drug him
Loved that callback! "It's just tea...with a little honey."

Thats because Dr Strange doesnt learn from his mistakes unlike ironman
Just watched doctor strange two days ago, and it was so much better than I thought
Absolutely loved this movie, the performances, the horror elements I hope the MCU will keep moving forward, this was THE Marvel movie for me, but what is going on with Benedict Wong's wigs darlings? The one thing about this movie I did not enjoy were the abrupt close-ups of faces that seemed to break the pace, yet they exposed that he's rocking the usual grown-out buzzcut in one scene, and a Monet X Change got2be pussycat wig in another? Am I missing something? Y'all saw that too, or am I in my own Multiverse of Madness?
reshooting is the answer
Many Marvel movies have villains who were "good" and had a tragic origin story making them turn heel.
The only difference with Wanda was we were there along for the ride, so it hits a lot harder than a character that has only just been introduced.
Love that wrestling terminology.
Turn heel?
Total agree!!!!
@@miguelsalamera9386 it’s a wrestling term. Heel = villain, face = hero. A heel turn or a face turn is where someone switches to either hero or villain from what they were before
@@achievementbird2641 ya Acknowledged That.
I don't know if this counts but I remember Sinister Strange mentioning how he killed his variants, by falling off a tall building. Yet later, he was met with the same fate of falling from the Sanctum Sanctorum (even though the spear killed him but still).
Thought the same thing when it happened!
Yes! And I wonder if having the 3rd eye, he could have easily seen his own death coming, and yet, his own arrogance killed him by never peering into this scene, and irony killed him since he was killing off all his other selves throwing them to their deaths and later he gets his own.
@@JD-bq2hl Ohh true that's so interesting!
So now as our Dr just became evil so is he gonna continue this.

Watched it today! Definitely a fast paced movie I like, but I hope the 3rd movie that’s coming is better than this one.
The fact that Charles was announced with the 97 cartoon theme and in his iconic yellow chair was THE highlight for me in this entire movie. THAT was my childhood right there. I know it's probably not meant to be that exact Charles but I choose to think it was the same as the one I grew up with in the 90's. I'm still internally crying about that.
It could be that one. Because in 90's Spiderman, there's a crossover episode (Secret Wars I think?) where Storm, FF4, and Spiderman get sent to another planet. Spiderman also had a X-men centric crossover. The problem though is that universe had Captain America, Captain Carter did not exist
@@zgeiselh6797 if anything, it was chosen because Marvel is planning to continue the 97 X-Men series. So this was hyping that up.

might not technically count as an easter egg, however Sara’s death reminded/reflected Darwin’s in Xmen First Class
One thing I’d say about the plot is that Wong sees Strange as reckless, yet when Wanda threatens the lives of a few sorcerers Wong give up the location when it could potentially destroy the multiverse. I couldn’t see Strange or the Ancient One doing the same thing. It would’ve made more sense for Wanda to enchant him or extract it from his mind.
That moment reminded me of the dilemmas Thanos presented our heroes with in Infinity War. Self-sacrifice is key to a superhero’s job, but they were all unwilling to sacrifice someone else, which led to reality-warping tragedy.

Regarding the red lines in the streets of Sinister Strange's universe, I think there's a simpler explanation. I believe Vision can’t technically exist without an Evil Ultron having also existed (seeking evolution) so it stands to reason that there is no Vision in Earth 838 if Ultron was successfully implemented by Stark/Pym/Banner/Richards/whatever genius it was.
Exactly!
Unless Reed built Vision. I mean he cracked teleportation and successfully made safe ultron robots.
This video was amazing! I just watched it withy partner and we both loved it! Thanks for all the insight.
Just got home from the movie and this just came out. Love this universe.
Snap!

Someone mentioned Strange has a photographic memory and that got me thinking...maybe he has that third eye as Darkhold was destroyed in all Dimensions and his Mind is the only repository left where it exists. Maybe the 3rd eye is Cthon's remaining influence?
Also interesting, 616 Strange still uses 'forbidden/Dark' magic like the others but where the others use it for personal gain (albeit for "Greater Good"), Strange has consistently used it to help others (not personal gain).
I think that's what makes Strange different from his counterparts but nobody brings it up. 616 Strange will not sacrifice friends for the greater good, he'd rather find another way or take the trouble head on
Guess who else had a photographic memory? Sherlock.
One fun fact is that there’s a lot of debate on whether the number of the beast is 666 or 616.
Those are just copies. The original darkhold is indestructible.
The portion of the moon seen aka visibly lit from our viewpoint on Earth is not related to a shadow caused by Earth but the angle of the Sun and Moon. The Sun lights the side facing it and appears at an angle which appears at times as a crescent. The only time a shadow from the Earth is involved would be an eclipse.
Just a thought with the tie and watch.
I don't think his hands are still too damaged because they have to do complex movements when doing magic. I think that it shows how he uses magic for simple tasks like with the tie but by the end he uses nothing but his bare hands to fix the watch which is more technical and intricate.
Some kind of character growth.
When Wanda looked at the camera I got chillssss, maybe because I saw it in 3D but still. Chills. (Elizabeth Olsen REALLY deserves an acting award.)
Gonna whine and try to defend these facts snowflake? I’ll have a bottle and pacifier waiting for ya 😘🤣. This movie was rushed on and a whole bunch of random nonsense that didn’t make any sense only to get a quick pay day but only the uneducated/delusional marvel fans will defend garbage🤣🤣🤣
I saw it without 3d and was terrified lol
@@b.b.2684 I would 100% recommend watching it in 3D, it was SO good!
In this film, we did not get the "No more mutants" line, but essentially, we got the "No more Dark Hold".
And basically no more illuminati, as short lived as they were
No more mutants could be coming
the first doctor strange movie was better
That was just one universes version of the Illuminati
@@L0rd0fTh3N3rdz nope, the Dark Hold from Sinister Strange's universe also got destroyed.
Just say the movie and i wanted to point out that i really like how the sour chord that's played to start the fight is also the same chord that wakes up Wong, eluding to the connection between the sacred temple and universes through the multiverse.
I NOTICED THAT TOO IT WAS AWESOME
Anyone else love how strange does the devil horns when using the dark hold 🤘🏼
The tech Mr. Fantastic uses when he appears could be a precursor to the travel tech TVA agents use in Loki. Knowing Reed's and Kang's connection, it's a possibility
nice catch!
omg yeah, how did they not connect that
Actual good catch. 👍
Mordo spiking the tea is a nod to Dr Strange 1 where Strange asks "what's in the tea" after the ancient one shows him the cosmos.
Can't believe you missed that one.
THANK GOD I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE THAT NOTICED THAT
They missed a lot. I'm hoping they'll bring it all up when the DVD comes out.
secret wars is one of the only comics i own, and i got so hyped when u mentioned it :)
Wanda absolutely slaughtering the Illuminati is kind of horrifying
In the Doctor Strange Multiverse, the major disappointment to me was the way they portrayed Wanda and the nod to hørrør genre. This is a superhero multiverse, not a hørrør multiverse, if they want that, go do an Evíl Dead multiverse movie (but don’t mix it up here in our superhero verse).
To all you hørrør fans out there, let me put it to you this way. How would you like Captain Marvel showing up out of nowhere in your favorite hørrør flick and throwing Jason or Freddie into the sun? You know you’d be píssed, well now you know how I feel about what they did to my Superhero movie.
@@GhostSal this, however, is an action movie with horror elements
I loved that Charles was the reasonable one on the Illuminati just like he was in the comics, and that hint of the 90s animated theme behind him was a straight shot to the nostalgia center of my brain.
Wasn’t Charles in the comics a selfish asshole? Lol
His death was shocking
Truly delightful
He just read Strange's mind and saw his true intentions
The amount of details and callbacks movies like this has is unreal
I think it should be 'have', 'has' sounds weird.
@@steson 'has' is proper grammar, 'have' would not be proper unless 'is' was changed to 'are'

@@shanmango no, it’s have. “Movies like this” is the actor here, which is plural and therefore requires “have.”
36:55 - there are white streaks as well. It seemed pretty clear to me that those streaks were ghostly car head- and taillights.
That Bruce cambell cameo tho!! ♥ Gotta love raimi 😂
I wouldn’t say this is technically the best MCU, but it’s most certainly my favorite. It has a sympathetic villian, keeps you guessing throughout, some creepy horror elements, great character moments, and just some great action throughout. It’s most certainly my favorite.

And some unexpected plot twists
What mcu movie is the best in your opinion, no way home?🤣
Keeps you guessing? Yeah okay, after I had learned of America being in the firm after I had watched Wandavision, I literally guessed this movies whole plot 🤣
theres no way people actually thought it was good 💀its seriously absolutely ass. i genuinely cannot believe that marvel made this movie, like im mind blown. me and my sister were laughing at the majority of the scenes.
I dont agree that Strange is a hypocrite. Breaking the rules to save the world and breaking them to get your sons and kill their original mothers are very different.
my thoughts exactly
Yeah I literally had to pause the video. Pretty sure I lost a couple brain cells after he said that 😂
ikr
@@danieltorresjr.698 Me too! 😆
I agree with you. Breaking the rules for selfish reasons vs breaking the rules in the service of others.
This one really showed how powerful Wanda is. And Dr Strange. They both have become powerful and seem to be more capable of handling Thanos now than in the past.
I loved the horror movie tropes like everyone else and the layered occult symbolism, but my inner choir nerd also noticed “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring” by JS Bach playing during the wedding scene in the church. It’s usually performed in Christmas performances due to the obvious Jesus reference. Nice touch along with him turning water to wine which I somehow missed. I’ll definitely be rewatching on Disney+ in couple weeks!!!
Dr Stranges line about "in the grand calculus of the multiverse..." also reminds me of Kisielius saying "Tiny momentary specks within an indifferent universe" to defend his killing of innocent people.
Lucky Kaecilius got to return to the Tibetan/Nepali temple in Secrets of Dumbeldore

Thanks for this detailed recap! I think the 7th chair in the illuminati scene was empty because it belonged to the dead Dr. Strange from that universe and they kept it as a memorial because they were sorry about having to kill him.
Everyone brings up Ironman but it makes alot more sense that it was Strange's to be honest.
@@PlusOne2Crit well if you think about it mordo probably wasn’t part of the Illuminati before they had to kill their dr strange meaning there would still be one chair open for whoever
I disagree - Mordo took over Strange's role so probably also his chair

Wow mind blown….
The one dimension you couldn't really give a name to , I think, was the one called "The Crossroads". It came up when Strange sent the Hulk into it to get him away from everyone because Hulk had went full-on savage. I have the issue, but I can't remember which one it is, number-wise.
I feel like the two red streaks are car tail lights from vehicles in the other universe. As the two universes collided some things would transfer over. These tail lights represent the other universe that is not destroyed. A reminder especially since the cars in this universe now all float and are useless.
