I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. My only complaint is that there should have been more screen time with Gorr. We should have had at least 1 or 2 more scenes of Gorr hunting and killings gods. The film didn't convey how much of a threat Gorr could be. The film needed those extra scenes with the villain.

I think it's so sweet that Gorr's whole reasoning for becoming God Butcher is that a god failed to protect his daughter and therefore he thought Gods cannot be trusted to protect. At the end of the film be trusts a god (thor) to protect his daughter

Actually gor didn't trust the gods to do their duties but as he saw with his eyes that thor is different. As we shown at one point Gor reads the minds of Thor... He went to omnipotence city to rally the gods against gor but he failed but yet thor didn't want to leave the people (children gor abducted) who needed thor to save them. Thor stood his ground against all odds to save those children... That's what made Gor to change his view /opinion on Thor. Besides there's no other option for him 😂 😂 😂 thor is the only other person there is 🤣

He missed 2 parallels. First, when Thor was in the vault of eternity, him getting saved by a thrown mjolnir from Jane was just like in endgame when cap threw mjolnir to save him (both times almost getting stabbed thru chest). Second, instead of raising storm breaker like Thor does to summon the bifrost, Axel places it on the ground like a staff, just like how heimdall placed the sword in the slot of the machine bifrost.

Some symbolism that I appreciated was the markings on gorr’s and his daughters body. When we saw his world’s god, he also had the same sort of markings on his face. Gorr purposefully cut and mutilated his own body, symbolizing his great anguish, as well as his hatred and rejection of all gods.

He knows Thor not just enjoy himself but also use the act to hild his hurt, but he also knows Thor delivers and he does care (hence the talk). You watch their interactions (direct and indirect), you can see Quill learned to read right past all of that. It is a particular type of just accepting how the other is, including their superficial kinks one might perosnally not enjoy, which I find very pleasant to see.

I feel the numerous disney references are starting to take alot away from the mcu specifically. They really should have given the movie a more serious tone lightly undercut with some humour instead of humour lightly undercut with a bit of seriousness. I think they can keep making disney references aslong as they are on earth and it makes more sense since disney can exist on the earth but when u put it into the wider universe just for a gag it just feels like they taking liberties with the mcu which really undercuts the immersion that i was hoping for. Not to mention how they represented zues, they really should have tried to make him a more serious character but still incredibly dismissive of "lower" lifeforms. I loved it. People complain about how overly funny it was, and not serious enough, but it gives a story of how to smile through pain, and laugh through it. I understand why some don’t understand, but its okay to me because not all marvel movies have to be balanced. We just got multiverse of madness which was dark and this brings balance to the films this year

    • @GoddoDoggo

Yes, and people seem to miss the point that the jokes and wackiness are the ways that these characters cope and heal from what they've been through, and how they continue to find joy in life.
The characters that let their joy die become depressed and angry and vengeful and they suffer more for it.
Anyone who says "This film should be more serious and dark" is missing the point.

I agree with this and I loved the movie, but joking *all the time* is not necessarily a healthy way of coping with trauma. I really need an explanation...when I saw eternity, I didn't think it was actually him, I thought it was just like a presence symbolising him and that presence was like a tool for anyone to have their wish granted... Was it actually eternity? Why wasn't it more of a big deal? How come it is that easy to come in contact with a cosmic being of his rank? Like I'm so confused, if it's actually him, why would he resurrect someone? I don't read the comics and my knowledge of Marvel universe isn't that great so...sorry for the long text.
