"Gimme Chocolate" is a fun song about the girls wanting to eat chocolate but being a little worried about their weight. But it's also brutally metal and that juxtaposition was totally intended to produce the biggest WTF reaction possible. So it seems that... mission accomplished! 😁

Great reaction. This was the video that went viral in 2014 and got them noticed ... and it still gets the same shocked reactions 9 years later. I'm glad you enjoyed it, this can go either way and so many people have only ever heard this one song assuming every other song will be the same and that BABYMETAL have nothing else to offer ... they are so wrong!
This video has the studio audio - you really need to hear live versions to appreciate what a gifted and special vocalist Su-metal really is.
You have several excellent suggestions for songs that do show off her voice: 'Amore', 'Akatsuki', 'Rondo of Nightmare' and 'No Rain, No Rainbow' are the obvious ones as they are her solo songs. 'Monochrome' piano version from The First Take channel is on everybody's mind being the most recent (and it is beautiful).
I don't see it mentioned yet so I will add 'The One' to the list - that is effectively their love letter to the fans.

This was filmed at the Legend 1997 concert held to celebrate the 15th birthday of Su-metal in December 2013, and it has gone on to become probably their most famous performance, as this song is the one that went viral in 2014 and made them famous around the world. Being their most iconic track, they play it at almost all of their live shows to this day.
Although it’s their most famous song by virtue of being a more extreme example of the wild juxtaposition of the cuteness of J-pop with the heaviness of thrash metal, it’s not really a great example of their capabilities. It has the wtf factor to get attention, but it doesn’t allow Su-metal’s vocals to really stand out like they do in songs like Megitsune or Road of Resistance.
Monochrome - First Take is a good video for listening to how she sounds now. Akatsuki or Rondo of Nightmare from Budokan Black Knight 2014 are great songs to hear her singing when she was younger.

There are a few Su solo songs that naturally put more emphasis on the vocals. In a full Metal band context, you might want to check out „Rondo of Nightmare“. If you’d like to hear a ballad, „No Rain, no Rainbow“ would be a good choice (especially the version from „Legend S“). But the best and clearest vocal delivery you‘ll get from „Monochrome“ on the RUclips channel „The First Take“. It’s just vocals and piano, and Su is outstanding.
Always expect the unexpected with BM, they just want chocolate and they will make sure to get some. This one is super fun and got top views in the channel for a reason, and that's why fans are enjoying this song each one of the recent concerts at Sabaton's Europe Tour, the girls love this one too and they like to make shenanigans in between dance moves, same thing with "Megitsune" which is another fans favorite and my next suggestion since you want to appreciate SuMetal vocals, either official MV or live at Budokan 2014 with the original trio will not let you down, trust me.

Nice reaction and you should check out Su (lead vocalist) doing more solo-type songs. Grington300 300 is normally a good reference. He's pretty much a walking encyclopedia of Babymetal (even though he says he isn't). One thing I would add to his list is in reference to the song Akutsuki. There are 2 version of that song. I'd recommend both of them. There's the one he recommended which was ... well... Akatuski. Then there's also the Akatsuki Unfinished version which is a beautiful song as well which she sang when she was 16. She only sang that version once live in concert as far as I know. But you get to see just how much talent she had even at the age of 16. Anyhow, was fun watching your reaction. Love the giggles lol

Your 3rd song in so I'm late, but welcome to Babymetal! When I first heard this song, I was...confused. LOL. I liked it, but I wasn't sure I should like it. LOL. I bought the CD and dang, it's amazing. My favorite song from them to this day is still Megitsune, from the same initial release. I highly, highly recommend checking out that track. For music lovers like ourselves, certain songs just evoke memories. Megitsune is basically my song of 2016. A couple years after it was released, but it was rocking my car non stop in 2016. As always, love the channel!
You should 100% do Kingslayer by Bring Me the Horizon and Babymetal! Such an amazing display of their talent and they sing a good bit in English which is quite unique too!

Babymetal is uh...an aquired taste, like many things Japanese for western folks. If you wanna hear more of the lead singer their song Monochrome is a good one for that, she has a few solo parts in it that shows a bit of her shine.
Dig deeper into the past 20 years or so of Japenese Idol culture - im sure plenty of summary vids on YT. You'll understand how such a blessed monster that is Babymetal was concieved :)

I've watched quite a few reactions to that song, and everyone mentions the low volume for the lead singer in that video.
They're obviously loved in the states now and have enough notoriety, but I remember when they did one of their first shows here they (bigger US bands) were nervous about how we'd respond to them. I might have the band names wrong but I think it was Judas Priest (or Metallica) that went on stage with them to help them get a more positive reaction.
