I'm Japanese. Thank for your great reaction. BABYMETAL's members are famous star (acting in TV. CM. etc) in Japan from when a child. The agency they work for is the largest listed entertainment company in Japan and has many stars. It is very difficult to get into this office, and female applicants need to be exceptionally beautiful, first of all. Many stars have been with the company since childhood and take various lessons from leading instructors, such as dancing, singing, acting, etc., and usually become an actress. And among them, a small number of people with high singing ability (like the lead vocal of BABYMETAL : Suzuka Nakamoto) becomes a musician. This is because it is extremely rare for a person to have both a beautiful appearance like an actress and a high singing ability. We can see many videos of her singing song since when elementary school on RUclips. BABYMETAL was created to make use of her talent in 2010(When she was 13years old). Now she is often selected as one of the top rock singers in the world by famous music magazines in the United Kingdom and is called 'Queen' in the metal fandam. When Babymetal song is voted in popularity by Japanese, 'Akatsuki' usually comes in first place.😀
They've matured *a lot* since this, and have become some of the hardest working and most talented artists in the world. You've got a crazy journey ahead of you.
Uh oh now you've gone and done it. You've awakened the Kitsunes from their Sunday slumber. You can now expect a record of number of views, comments and subs with every BABYMETAL reaction . Welcome to the Foxhole and your BABYMETAL journey, you can now consider yourself to be one of the millions of Kitsunes worldwide 🦊🤘
Brilliant reaction - there is no other band quite like BABYMETAL and yes, they introduced choreographed dance into Metal ... but not dance as you may have seen it. Their choreo relates to the lyrics or meaning of the song, but it also leads the crowd and gets them involved. They have bespoke choreo for every song ... you have about 70 dances to learn. This was filmed December 2013 - the day after the lead singer's 16th birthday. The two younger girls were 14. This was 3 years after they started in 2010.
I think the difference between Kpop choreography and Japanese is that Japanese is more athletic and energetic. The Korean is more synchronized and meticulous but less athletic and physically demanding.
@@Dragon-Believer Quite possible. For me BABYMETAL's choreo is somehow different to both. Choreo in pop (K, J, Western etc) seems to be used mainly to fill the stage or to give you half dressed girls/boys to watch to take your mind off the music (I know I'm generalising, it may not all be like that, its just how it seems to me) whereas BABYMETAL's actually relates to and helps with interpreting the meaning of the song or a lyric and most importantly it involves and includes the audience. I'm no expert - all I really know is that BABYMETAL's choreo doesn't just annoy me the way most choreo does.
@Grington300 I didn't used to like half dressed girls. When I was younger and was full of testosterone. Now that I'm older I enjoy it. It's not so distracting. I still don't like pretty boys but that isn't aimed at me :)
Babymetal have grown and matured a lot in the past decade, just getting better. They're in their mid 20's now. And yeah, others have already mentioned 'Ratatata', the brand spanking new single with Electric Callboy. It's pure fun. For other Japanese metal bands, I heartily recommend LoveBites, and Nemophila. Most people start with 'Holy War' live at Zepp Divercity Tokyo for LoveBites. I think for Nemophila, I might start with 'Ama-Te-Ras'.
You just witnessed Japan's #1 International Group!! They have a #1 Album in the USA and in the UK back in 2019 and their latest Album, released last year, hit #3 in the UK also!! And have been turning the Heavy Metal World 'On its Ear' for 14 years now!! "RATATATA". A fun Summertime Co-lab!! I see you are already planning that reaction....we await the FUN!! More Babymetal Always!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey 🦊🤘🔥 I'm always glad to see more reactors getting into this amazing group. They were rocking out the whole World Tour 2023/2024 and everyone were having a blast with the setlist, the new songs from latest album and the classic hits, especially GC! either you hate or love it, is a song with crazy amount of views and they don't wanna leave behind in any of their setlist just like they did today and yesterday at FOX_FEST Festival, the best moment to be in Japan is definitely right now bc they also played the new collab song they just recently released along with Electric Callboy, so highly suggest you to check that out while is hot. Dance choreography and metal had never been seen before and they somehow managed to make it works creating their unique own genre called kawaii-metal, mixing Jpop and heavy metal along with many more sub genres and rhythms, you'll have so much fun going through this journey. This isn't actually live sound, is studio album version over a live performance which was partially live only on the vocals and choreography with backing track sound. They have their own band called Kami Band introduced later on that same show and after that Kami Band become regular at live performance but they're not official members, only these trio are the front women. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. *YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. This was in December 2013 at SuMetal 16th Birthday, the other girls had 14 yo and there was a big party you have seen nothing yet, wait for _"Babymetal Death"._ The backing band here are called "baby-bones", they don't actually play they're just mimicking air playing instrument, later on this same concert and after 2014 you'll see the girls performing with a real band called the Kami Band, more of them later. Not only they got a wide range in musical style but also when dancing, but if you wanna see a clear Para Para Dancing choreo you got songs such Iine! official MV (take note isn't Line, is iine with a capital i) Some recommendations for next songs like: - _"Road Of Resistance"_ live in Japan official. - _Megitsune_ official MV. - _Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!_ live at this same live performance Legend 1997 in Makuhari Messe Japan when SuMetal is celebrating her birthday becoming a metal goddess queen and leaving her idol jpop form (you can find one at Gans Tomas channel under "Head Bangya" title). You have more than 60 songs to discover. Amuse their label is very hard to deal so if you want to avoid copyright blocked you have "Babymetal Reactor Resource" channel you'll get full original clips of their best live performance with watermarked logo safe to react, look for "Future Plans" vid, follow instructions and you'll get all of them, upload the one with the logo for us and you can watch without it, don't worry for us we already saw all of them. I'm gonna try to leave in my next comment where to get safe clips to react if YT allows me to do it. See you next time! 🦊🤘🍫
Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions: - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast. ruclips.net/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/видео.html - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo. ruclips.net/video/g2372C5PJLM/видео.html - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014. ruclips.net/video/dU38CYkpBvI/видео.html - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997. ruclips.net/video/nwsinmxTxbo/видео.html - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one. ruclips.net/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/видео.html - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014. ruclips.net/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/видео.html - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do. ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs. ruclips.net/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/видео.html - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday). ruclips.net/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/видео.html - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live. ruclips.net/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/видео.html If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is. ruclips.net/video/ESzY9dL613Q/видео.html - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal. ruclips.net/video/1dT1ywYR5So/видео.html - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014. ruclips.net/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/видео.html - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro. ruclips.net/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/видео.html - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV, be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case. ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.htmlsi=BsVOSExS25Qndy1H - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts. ruclips.net/video/M8FKumvh-w8/видео.html Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo. - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song. ruclips.net/video/Hg0Rylcg8F0/видео.html This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list. ruclips.net/video/q40VmTHSh4c/видео.html And here's a BM guide (the long one). ruclips.net/video/aIb2xEthdSg/видео.htmlsi=EnEYU4nN3tuiY3WL There's a beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until last year unlike the other one with full updates till this year. ruclips.net/video/9X5vj1-Sg_4/видео.htmlsi=icqbG22Ysw0Pc-Ll 🦊🤘
Haha awesome, welcome to Babymetal! Don’t let their cutsie adorableness fool ya, these gals are now 14-year industry veterans, and they go hard at live shows. This video was the song’s live debut in Dec 2013 at “Legend 1997” show celebrating lead Su-metal’s 16th birthday, and her partners in crime are 14 then Suggestions for you to see their wide range: *Ratatata (Official MV):* Collab with Electric Callboy, just released 3 days ago! Party banger of the year. *Road of Resistance (Official MV):* An epic power metal battle anthem from Jan 2015. *Monochrome (Pia Arena MM, 2023):* beautifully melodic and emotional rocker. Look forward to more Babymetal!! 🤘🦊
So fun watching your reaction, look forward to more! Few things are more fun than watching a new fan discover BM for the first time. As you go through their catalog of performances, if you feel like it of course, check out some of their complete concerts. This (for example) was from "Legend 1997" celebrating Su-Metal's 16th birthday; the concert start to finish tells the story of Su-Metal's transformation from a jpop idol into a metal goddess. Most of their larger concerts have a story to them, and are super unique.
Welcome to the world of babymetal. I saw them at a festival in 2016. Rob zombie, slayer, and many others were there. They were on stage right before Alice cooper. Many of us older metal heads made our way to their stage at like 3 or 4 pm just to see if it was some random gimmick. The majority of us old heads ended up showing much appreciation to these little legends for the energy they put out. Rob zombie and Rob Halford put the metal stamp on them, and it’s much deserved. These little legends are metal. Had to follow them more after that show. They started as young teens, they are in their 20’s now. Su metal is our empress of metal. All hail Su🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Welcome to the Foxhole, buckle up and enjoy this wild musical ride. You should also check out their collaboration with Electric Callboy that dropped a few days ago 🦊🤘
This music video was the one back in the day where all RUclips reactors were watching, and American reactors loved it. It went so viral, so fast that the world could do nothing to stop BABYMETAL.. instead, we all just hung on for our lives. I saw them live in Austin. It felt like a different world.
What makes these young ladies even more amazing is how long they have been around, their story should be made into a film, I do miss Yui but they are still the best entertainers out there.
Welcome to the "Fox Hole". This group invented their own genre - kawaii metal. They have come a long way from this early video but have only become more powerful and interesting. They incorporate many styles into their diverse catalog. The lead singer, Su Metal, is a powerful singer. Their live performances are incredible and most of their videos are taken from their lives. Their newest song is a collab with Electric Callboy, "Ratatata", just dropped and is the song of the summer. You simply must check it out
Oh boy here we go into another rabbithole :D I've seen them as support for Sabaton last year and end of last year on Babymetals tour and they are rly fun live
Always love watching your reactions! I truly hope you will continue this journey of Baby Metal reactions. I am 58 years old and grew up listening to Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Pink Floyd etc. This is the first truly original band I have seen in many, many years and what a breath of fresh air. I saw them live in Pittsburgh last fall and was absolutely blown away. Su's live vocals may be the best I have ever heard and I have seen hundreds of bands live. In a world filled with mediocrity, Baby Metal stands out. The precision and the work ethic it takes to pull off one of their live shows is truly remarkable.
Yay! I have been looking forward to you reacting to Babymetal. These ladies are queens of a genre that they created. Kawaii metal fuses J-pop and metal. I would recommend Road of Resistance next. Also recommend some of their live videos, as they are actually better live. They just did a collaboration with Electric Callboy too. Love your reaction. Su-Metal, MOAMETAL, and YUIMETAL Rock.
Love this band, and yep anyone who likes anime is going to feel the full kawaii/moe force, like standing in the sun after a hundred years underground. One of the best things I can remember hearing about this band was at one of the UK premiere metal festivals early in their touring career. They were due to play on the B stage but one of the A stage bands had to postpone. Babymetal took the challenge to fill in the gap and absolutely crushed it!
Saw them last year. These performers have cardio for days. They are very fun live. Seeing the translation for this song puts a very different spin on the song.
When I first heard Gimme Chocolate about 10 years ago I was hooked instantly, just like you. A decade later I haven't found anything else that makes me as happy as when listening to Babymetal. They release a new song just a few days ago called Ratatata featuring Electric Callboy and it's one of the catchiest songs you will ever hear.
I've... seen things.. you people wouldn't _believe_ - the fox hole runs deep, you have a universe of amazement to experience - it'll be quite a ride! 🦊
6 months later they were in England performing on the main stage at the Sonisphere Festival in Great Britain. In 30 minutes they up-ended the Metal music world. Their Band merchandise out sold all the other bands at the festival. Sumetal turned 16 the day before the concert and Yui-metal and Moa-metal were 14 yo. Next - "Monochrome"
Really happy to see this pop up. Subbed during your Pink Floyd trip. About to watch the reaction but had to comment. Baby Metal has an amazing story, from creating their own genre of music to breaking through the gate keeping of "Metal Purists" to be recognized by some of the giants in the industry. In my opinion Gimme Chocolate isn't the best "First Song" so I do hope you check out more. Ratatata with Electric Callboy is just pure energetic musical fun, so definitely check that out. Okay now to the video lol.
Only the fox god knows !!!!!!!!!! You'll understand the deeper down the fox hole you go, these girls are brilliant with so many great tracks. Babymetal is a Japanese kawaii metal band consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal", Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal" and Momoko Okazaki as "Momometal". The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency. Their vocals are backed by heavy metal instrumentation, performed by a group of session musicians known as the "Kami Band" at performances. The band was formed in 2010, with the original line up of Su-metal (vocal and dance), Moa-metal (scream and dance), and Yui Mizuno as "Yui-metal" (scream and dance), with the concept of creating a fusion of the heavy metal and Japanese idol genres. Originally a sub-unit of the Japanese idol group Sakura Gakuin, Babymetal became an independent act in 2013, following Nakamoto's departure from Sakura Gakuin. Babymetal have released four studio albums since their inception: the first, Babymetal, came out in February 2014. Their second album Metal Resistance was released in April 2016. The group released their third album Metal Galaxy in October 2019. Their fourth album, The Other One, was released in March 2023. Babymetal has embarked on several tours, with a majority of their tour dates taking place outside of Asia. In October 2018, Babymetal announced that Yui Mizuno had decided to leave the band due to poor health, following her absence from live performances since December 2017. After her departure, the band performed with one or more backup dancers at live performances. One of those dancers, Momoko Okazaki (a former member of Sakura Gakuin), joined Babymetal as the third core member in April 2023, under the stage name Momo-metal.
Excellent reaction. I have been a metalhead since my son introduced me to Manowar around 2002 and I admit (hangs head in shame) that I enjoy Baby Metal as a departure from what I usually listen to (metal songs that tell tales of sacrifice and adventure). I enjoy the heavy instrumentals behind the kawaii vocals, the choreography, and the professionalism of the performers. I doubt I would ever listen to this as just audio, bit the videos are a wonderful distraction and incredible fun. However, I do tend to prefer their heavier songs. BTW, the "musicians" in the skeleton outfits are actors and the instrumentals are a backing track. They began to use a real band for festivals, originally the Kami band (consisting of session musicians) but now I believe they have two different backing bands depending on where the concert is.
Ruin your BABYMETAL experience going from when they were 12 years old to 26 years old and miss all the in between, well not miss but you know. I appear to be the minority here but .... yeah watch the old stuff first.
@@jerryhinkle3786 If she did the whole thing as a reaction marathon in... maybe a week, I would even agree with you, but we all know that she will most likely never get to the new songs if she follows your suggestion.
@@multiversalsounds1590 she has entered the Fox hole at a much later date than most but she would not be the first reactor to dedicate themselves to such an endeavor. personally I got the pleasure of taking the chronologic journey but I dont do reactions. If I was in her position, I would use her Patreon community to pole the popular opinions of her paying customers.
@@jerryhinkle3786 Personally, I don't really care about the order. I just think it's important that all aspects are covered. (Japan live show, festival, old and new songs and preferably a Su-solo and a Black Babymetal)
When my dad first showed me Baby Metal I was kind-of shocked and unsure if it was my thing then I saw a live concert and I was hooked. They are a breath of fresh air, energetic, cute and their band rock's
@@jerryhinkle3786 You do know that on average over all the reactors the average number BABYMETAL reaction per reactor is just sitting over 1, not even 2. You rarely get 2, and even more rarely get more than 2, and it just exponentially goes down after that.
that song just works. Eskimo Callboy as they were called then were playing a side stage at wacken 2016, i was so confused as to what sort of bizarre domestic artists germans like.
Nice reaction. welcome to the foxhole. Babymetal is the premier Metal band from Japan. Opened the doors for many to follow. All by taking the Road of Resistance. They had a lot of resistance when they started for daring to do Kawaii metal. Enjoy this journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music. They've traveled the world and started incorporating the music they heard into their own. Babymetal is a fantastic mix of Jpop vocals over a metal base with just about everything in between. Now about the song. Total fun especially if you like chocolate. Then you can relate to this. They're not just asking for chocolate at the start of the song. The sound they're making is the sound kids make for guns in Japan and if you watch again, you'll notice they're holding they hands in a gun shape. Which means they're not just asking for chocolate. They're demanding it at gun point. All in a kid kawaii manor. They have kept that kawaii aspect to their performance to this day. And even in their heaviest songs they find a way to still be Kawaii. Su-metal is the lead singer and for good reason. The group was built around her voice and an amazing voice it is. Moametal and Yuimetal are her Angels of hype and dance and sing. Have compatible voices to hers. As you watch more of them, you'll get to hear more of them singing. Sadly, Yuimetal left the group officially in 2018 due to health issues and actually stopped performing with them in 2017 because of it. No one and I mean NO ONE knows what the health issue was. From 2018 until 2023 Babymetal went on as a duo of Su-metal and Moametal. They used backup dancer to fill her spot. One of them in 2023 was promoted to official member in March of 2023. Now back to a trio again Babymetal set out to take the world and did 97 concerts last year world wide. Now they have been releasing singles since then. Babymetal, the foxhole is deep and full of surprises. See You.
Headbanger, pa pa ya are awesome. The Kami band is one of the best backup bands ever. They have a tradition where when one of the younger girls becomes 20 years old they play headbanger and the birthday girl get handed the mike as an honor and puts their stamp on the songs. I love that.
I'm 57 and have seen everyone in 40 years of going to concerts and I've seen Babymetal 4 times - it's an experience, not just a concert!! I have so many songs to recommend but I'm sure you'll get through them! Loads of dance routines to learn. Take care of yourself 😊
Welcome to the foxhole. You have stumble upon the best kwaii metal band in the world. Som much to look forward to. Great reaction. Love from sweden ❤❤❤
This song was released in 2014. There is a brand new release with Electrical Callboy. However 2023 PIA arena has many of there older songs as well as there new songs. Original member YUI left in 2018 and now Momoko is a permanent member. The performers go by AKA Su-Metal, Moametal, Momometal. The lead singer Su-Metal (Suzuka) is now 26. In gimme chocolate she is 15-16.
Ironically, Babymetal really is not much of a “weeb” thing, at least if we are talking about anime culture in the west, and critics constantly lob fans of the band into the same camp which often rubs a lot of us the wrong way. Nothing wrong with being a weeb and anime fan, I still have that part of myself. It’s just a lot of BM fans are either just metalheads who fell in love with the band like me or outsiders of the genre that just stumbled upon them and fell down the fox hole. Babymetal is another pop culture phenomenon that serves as a gateway into a different part of Japanese culture that many people here in the west are not familiar with. Either way, good to see you liked this. My first time seeing this video was back in 2014 when they blew up the internet, I didn’t like it at the time but I also didn’t think it was an actual thing either. I was a new metalhead and the anime I enjoyed at the time like Naruto and Bleach (my gateways into anime) hardly used cutesy j pop so that was a genre I was not open to having with my metal. Years later, I started getting more plugged into the metal scene when a friend of mine pushed me to buy tickets to a metal festival and Babymetal was one of the big acts. I was actually pleasantly surprised to see that name as an actual band headlining the festival. So I decided to give them another shot after I got hooked on Electric Callboy and became an instant fan. Like others here, I do recommend you check out the latest collab between these two bands, Ratatata!
Your choice it seems most of your fan base want you to skip over all the earlier BABYMETAL stuff and get right to today, But I recommend the long road start at the beginning with ruclips.net/video/cirhQ8iLdbw/видео.html and work your way up to the present.
@@jerryhinkle3786 Does it really matter if she reacts to them in chronological order or not? Gimme Choco already isn't the beginning of babymetal so who cares if she jumps into the new song and then comes back to the older stuff later?
@@Tyyppl You know I am on the fence as for how one should view BM imo as a fan and if you proclaim to be a fan then definitely as much chronilogically as possible but as a reactor which I am not I understand the sense to go with the community so I wont judge anyone who is trying to appease their paying customers or just riding the wave of popular opinion.
This is actually the video that went viral and put them on the map worldwide. It is also one of their most divisive songs because some people absolutely love it, such as yourself, but others have this be their first experience with BABYMETAL and hate it, making it difficult to get them to come back to listening to anything else of theirs. Then there are some that are able to witness it and are made curious about seeing more because they want to know if this is all they are, or do they have other sounds. And oh boy, let me tell you, do they have other sounds! They are such an incredible band and act, you will LOVE seeing them live! It is so much fun and energy...you will be exhausted by the end, as well. I saw them in Boston last September when they were touring and it was amazing. Plus their crowds are SO diverse: old metalheads, little kids and families, weebs, overall music fans...absolutely everyone goes to their shows and never have I heard anyone be disappointed with their experience. Looking forward to your upcoming reactions to them. If you love them this much with just one song, I can't wait to see what happens as you uncover all their discography and see them at the various stages of their time as a group, from being super young, to current day where they are in their mid-20's and still killing it!
BABYMETAL is the most unique metal experience in the world right now coming from Japan 🇯🇵. Not only their appearances, their style, and everything that surrounds them visually but they’re an incredible band as well supporting them and they’re so passionate about metal but music in general they know everything about the metal music discography and they’ve created a very special feeling, and experience within the entire metal community. They work extremely hard to create something unique for every community ranging from the young to old. Babymetal may not be everyone's metier but if you don't like fine. Babymetal paves the way for other Japanese 🇯🇵 bands to be recognized worldwide. You may not like them but respect them. This is the original trio Suzuka Sakamoto aka Su-Metal, Moa Kikuchi aka Moametal and Yui Mizuno aka Yuimetal. Yui left BABYMETAL in 2018 cited health issues. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult.
Kawaii Metal... Their costumes are part Anime Armor. The lead singer is very good, she started out as an Anime Singer, did Acting and Music School, and BabyMetal was her 4th band at age 12. I read they taught Metallica the Gimme Chocolate dance backstage.
Welcome to the Foxhole, they have just released a collab with Electric Callboy that is currently breaking the internet, RATATATA. This is from Su-metals 16th birthday show on Dec 21st 2013, Yui and Moe were 14. I get so much joy from this band but when you get into them you realise that Su is one of the most talented vocalists of any genre. I recommend the new song first then Monochrome from the PIA 2023 and go from there with either Headbanger or Road of Resistance if you want to see a BM mosh pit, Live 2015 also shows you the complete control Su has over a crowd of 20000 when she was just 17 but then by that age she did have 11 years experience behind her, live is always best as they have huge stage productions and full choreography for every song and they were born to perform. 🤘🤘🤘🦊🦊🦊. Ps loved your Pink Floyd reactions,
I've been following them for years. I think the most amazing video, and knowing how the band evolved, is Headbanger when they finally let MoaMetal take over. Watch the crowd. It's INSANE!! Seen them several times but a bucket list item is to see them in Japan. The band themselves are amazing live. Then you add the ladies and your head explodes. Look up the MoaMetal version of the song.
Welcome to the foxhole 😊 🤘🦊🤘 Funny u mentioned electric calboy. . . Babymetal are big fans of EC and collab dropped 2 days ago. . . Ratatata! Its at 2mil already I think. Gr8 reaction! Subscribed! 😂
Can confirm, saw them open for Sabaton's latest tour and they go so hard! Such a great group and they have worked so hard for their worldwide popularity. For an all female Japanese metal band, I highly recommend LOVEBITES, Glory to the World.
I saw them in Vegas at the Sick New World Festival back in april. What made that performance all the more epic. Was later in the night on Bring Me The Horizon set. Babymetal appeared on state with Oli to perform Kingslayer. This was actually a collaboration going back 3 years. However, no one expected they would ever perform it live. Oli has this on his RUclips page. When they performed it at Next_Fest in Japan last year. I was at Fox_Fest just recently as well. Electric Callboy and Babymetal performed RATATATA live & it was even more epic!! Momoko also has a growl, which she exchanges with Kevin during the performance, which just kinda blew my mind. Love still seeing earlier reactions back when they were just teenagers. 🤘🦊🔥
Yes choreo teacher Mikio is famous for her work, she also does EDM girl trio Perfume, peformance art at its best. For Babymetal, Headbanger live - Legend 1997 (singers birther year) tour version best. Also the epic Road Of Resistance Official live. I saw these girls live in Sydney Australia. When they hit the stage it was like the air was on fire. Huge vibe for them hear. Sold 7,600 venue with next to no advertising.
Babymetal are followers of the Fox God.. You can notice the little hand movements depicting a fox.. They do what the Fox God tells them.. One of my Fav Babymetal songs.. Greetings from Electronic80s / Soundz80s, Blue Mountains, Sydney, Australia xxx
Seen Babymetal twice now! Once in concert and once at a festival. Sadly Australia never knows what they have and put them on tiny stages! Still BM can work a small or big stage and own the whole venue 🖤🖤 ‘Road of Resistance’ is the big reaction song you need to cover! Moa (one of the secondary singers) takes lead occasionally and I adore her vocals. Check out ‘Moametal Headbanger’ And lastly, since you’re checking out Japanese genre-bending metal, ‘Osaki Ni Shitsurei Shimasu (Pardon Me I Have To Leave)’ by Hanabie is an absolute must!!
Interestingly enough, now that they're older, their harmonics actually match a lot better with the overall music, making them just a genuinely good metal band.
seriously, there is so much great music from BM. Prepare to be bombed (in a good way) with suggestions. I'm recommending "The One - Tokyo Dome 2016" welcome to the fox hole 🤘 🦊 🤘
Oh you have no idea what you’ve gotten yourself into, welcome to the crazy world of Babymetal! These girls (and the band) are so damn talented. And remember, live shows are always best!
This is a good song to get you introduced to the concept. But wait until you get to some of the songs that really showcases Su-metal's vocals and they get a real band on stage (these early days the musicians were just actors but the band later on is really good)
Old video, they were soooooooooooooo young! Now they are adult women but they still have so much fun on stage when they sing this song... 😍😍😍🥰 Ok i'm a fan 😍
I love that you had so much fun with Babymetal. That is what they are all about. Any song from Babymetal will be a good choice but I will recommend one called Catch Me if You Can. It is essential you find a live version of any song you listen to. They have a couple of music videos that are quite good but even then the live is always better. Their stage productions and crowd control is unmatched. As you have obviously seen, they just released a new song and folks are still peeing themselves over it so maybe you should watch it before there is a mutiny. :)
Note Reactors rarely react to the same song twice but BM can do the same song so differently that you should at least see if not react to the same song over the years at different concerts for example Akatsuki and Akatsuki unfinished, Akatsuki is one of Su-metals solo songs and it should be performed at every concert. I recommend seeing them all.
As I've always been into Japaense culture and a metal fan, I got into Babymetal since their inception. The subgenre they represent is known a 'Kawaii' metal and you are actually spot on when you say that they're 'cute' as that is what Kawaii pretty much means. The sub-culture of Kawaii (not Kawaii metal) originated in Japan in the 1970s. You'll tend to find that it is highly prominent in a lot of manga or anime character designs too.
I hope you react to more of Babymetal's catalog! They mix a ton of genres with metal, no two songs are really in the same style. Their bread and butter are their live stage performances, in most cases you get a better idea of what they do with the live show video over the studio filmed music videos.
Great first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘 Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Download, Sonisphere, Glastonbury, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they released a new amazing album last year and they just finished a world tour where they had many shows here in the US. They also recently released a new music video for their song called "Metali" that features Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello, and a few days ago they released the music video for "RATATATA" which is a collab with Electric Callboy!🤘🦊🤘
I think you can find the English translation to the lyrics that will make the title and choreography more relevant. Note: Baby Metal with Electric Callboy, brand new!
I have to tell you that this was recorded in 2015, that is 9 years ago. Those little girls are grown ups now. So, you cannot see "them". They are still active though, even if one member now is not the original one. They are still cute, but the oldest is 25, so different kind of cute. They just released a banger with another fantastic band, Electric Callboy, called Ratatata. Its a bit different genre than their normal. They are normally Cute Metal. The collaboration with Electric Callboy is more Party Core, kind of mix of Euro dance and metal. I would say that this song is the best thing that has happened in 2024. Hundreds of reactors are reacting to it. It is totally blowing up! If you go the Ratatata way you then have two bands you have to follow 😀
You realize that this was over a decade ago. They are now in their twenties and all grown up; but still dancing and singing amazing songs. The have collaborated with rappers, metal gods, and others. Their band is anonymous and world class.
In fact, "Gimmi Choko" was their 6th (domestic) single release: 1. "Doki Doki Morning" (2011) 2. "Kimi to Anime ga Mitai" (2012, collab single with Kiba of Akiba) 3. "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" (2012) 4. "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (2013) 5. "Megitsune" (2013) 6. "Gimme Chocolate" (2014)
god i love babymetal! saw them last year in NY. Tickets just went on sale for the new tour, see them if you can! you should react to their song doki doki morning for extra cute over load!!
It is impossible to watch this performance and not smile, though the first time I saw this my jaw dropped because i was so confused, but then I could not stop smiling. They toured America last year. I saw them live. They have matured a great deal since this performance, but they are just as good, if not better. This genre is called Kawai Metal. They started it. Thanks to them, we get to enjoy about a dozen more female rock and metal bands that are amazing from Japan . They have a couple of songs that they rap in as well
I'm in Tokyo right now for FOX_FEST which is a festival Babymetal hosted featuring Electric Callboy and Polyphia. They played Gimme Choko on both days and it went super hard as always.
Babymetal has many different sounds. So do not be fooled into thinking every song is so cutesy like this one. They recently had a MomoMetal version of Headbanger, and I encourage you to watch it, as Momo is the newest member of the group. And she brings a new vocal dynamic that BM didn’t have before. And she is the sweetest gal. (Well they all are.)
9:30 "I Don't Know How Young They Are, But Look Really Young" At the time of this video's release, Su-Metal,.the lead vocalist, was 16 and Moa-Metal and Yui-Metal were 14
I've seen Babymetal live 1 time and they were great ... I still remember my initial reaction being 1 of confusion, because I couldn't tell if I liked it or not, in the end though it was too fun to not enjoy. After this I highly recommend "Ladybaby - Nippon Manju" it's similar, only the main vocalist is an Australian that lives in Japan and is a wrestler by the name of Ladybeard
FYI, I lived in Japan for 2 years when I was stationed on the Misawa Airforce Base and I had to go to Cultural classes for the first two months when I first arrived. A bit of advice, if your going to stay in japan for more than a month, the culture shock will hit you hard. There are cultural rules that you'll need to learn. 1. You can't go outside without your shirt or blouse having a collar, "No T- shirts outside". 2. If you get anything to eat or drink from either a restaurant or vending machine, you can't eat or drink it while walking down the street, you'll have to sit down on the sidewalk to do so. 3. There are cultural rule to eating with chopsticks that have to do with their burial rites, first you can't hold them straight up and down but only at an angle and secondly you can't use chopsticks to transfer food from one plate to another. 4. Do Not Tip anyone, because the'll take it as an Insult, especially Cab Drivers. Another bit of information is that the legal drinking age in Japan is 20, also they have vending machines for everything - Beer - Cigarettes - Hot and Cold Drinks labeled with Red and Blue Buttons - And lastly, Adult Toys.
Ah you discovered Kawaii metal, better late than never! So, i have to give an anecdote,I'm 47, discovered them late 2022, blew through their entire history and catalogue, and late last year my wife and I saw them back to back in Houston and Dallas and oh my god! I built them up too much in my head and I knew it, but was i didn't expect was the emotional shock i got when they took the stage! They are larger than life, and now in their mid 20s still almost sickeningly adorable, and have even MORE relentless energy somehow! Their stage presence is un matched by any live artist I've seen in my life, they have such a crazy work ethic and bring 200% to their performance each show! Oh, in Dallas we were VERY close to the stage and the amount of personal crowd interacting they did is insane! My wife made me a pair of shiny shoulder armor similar to their current outfits, and Moa (one of the flanking dancers) noticed and gave me a giggle and wave. They make me laugh and smile and feel young again. Their messaging is VERY inspiring too as youll see ..some songs are silly and about wanting chocolate .. then there's others about bullying and its negative effects on everyone, and another song is very meta, about paving your own way through hard work. Jealous you get a fresh journey, but honestly now is a GREAT time to discover them! They did their biggest world tour of their career last year and have been releasing insanely awesome collabs with fun artists! I hope you enjoy! I'll throw my two cents in and say you should react to Road of Resistance at PIA arena from 2023, epic performance!
Babymetal showed me a whole other realm of music that I have totally given myself to. Female led Asian rock/metal/pop/jazz-fusion is SO GOOD!!! I have seen Babymetal, Band-Maid, Hanabie, and Otoboke Beaver in the last year, and all were SO MUCH FUN!!! This September I get to see my favorite, LOVEBITES in Atlanta!!
saw them live in Toronto, Canada a few years ago when they looked like that. The musicians who are a band on their own, wore white robes (which represents the dead?) instead of skeleton outfits. I think that some of the girls have changed since then.
Absolutely making sense that you first check some songs of BM before reaction their collab with Electric Callboy. And so happy you loved it. If you think the drummer is working then watch "Road of resistance live in Japan" and you will understand that here he was pretty relaxed. BTW this video is a MUST!!!! For me the climax of BM. There is even a 12min version I think at Budokan, where the last 5min is only BM walking around and greeting the fans. Yet the drummer is busy :-)
It never get old. A reactor throw like a cannonball at the door of the Fox hole. I suggest a time travel to present time ( this MV is 10 years old ) They just release Ra Ta Ta Ta with Electric Callboy 🤘🦊
Congratulations! You found BabyMetal and now your quality of life is going to take a boost! :)
🤘 🦊 🤘
Made me choke on my drink reading that.
@@Dragon-Believer Haha its not the half dressed girls that annoy me, its the mincing about for no apparent reason.
I'm excited to see your Electric Callboy feat. Babymetal reaction, I love their nee song!
I second that
@@derwolf9670 thirded...the new song slaps hard
Babymetal feat. Electric Callboy 😁
@@Omar-Metal And a 4th,
imo bouncing from the early BabYMETAL to the most recent will lessen your overall BABYMETAL experience. work your way up to this.
Po!
Karate is my favourite Babymetal Song. The new Ratatata with Electric Callboy is very good, too!
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey 🦊🤘🔥
I'm always glad to see more reactors getting into this amazing group.
They are:
*SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
This was in December 2013 at SuMetal 16th Birthday, the other girls had 14 yo and there was a big party you have seen nothing yet, wait for _"Babymetal Death"._
The backing band here are called "baby-bones", they don't actually play they're just mimicking air playing instrument, later on this same concert and after 2014 you'll see the girls performing with a real band called the Kami Band, more of them later.
Not only they got a wide range in musical style but also when dancing, but if you wanna see a clear Para Para Dancing choreo you got songs such Iine! official MV (take note isn't Line, is iine with a capital i)
Some recommendations for next songs like:
- _"Road Of Resistance"_ live in Japan official.
Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
- Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.
ruclips.net/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/видео.html
- Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
ruclips.net/video/g2372C5PJLM/видео.html
- Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014.

- Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997.

ruclips.net/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/видео.html
- Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do.

ruclips.net/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/видео.html
- Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday).
ruclips.net/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/видео.html
- Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.

If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is.

- Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal.

- Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014.

- Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro.
ruclips.net/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/видео.html
- Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV, be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.htmlsi=BsVOSExS25Qndy1H
- Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.

Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.
- GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song.

This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list.

And here's a BM guide (the long one).
ruclips.net/video/aIb2xEthdSg/видео.htmlsi=EnEYU4nN3tuiY3WL
There's a beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until last year unlike the other one with full updates till this year.

BABYMETAL is a HAPPY METAL that brings smiles and energy to people!
Haha awesome, welcome to Babymetal! Don’t let their cutsie adorableness fool ya, these gals are now 14-year industry veterans, and they go hard at live shows.
This video was the song’s live debut in Dec 2013 at “Legend 1997” show celebrating lead Su-metal’s 16th birthday, and her partners in crime are 14 then
Suggestions for you to see their wide range:
*Ratatata (Official MV):* Collab with Electric Callboy, just released 3 days ago! Party banger of the year.
*Road of Resistance (Official MV):* An epic power metal battle anthem from Jan 2015.
*Monochrome (Pia Arena MM, 2023):* beautifully melodic and emotional rocker.
Look forward to more Babymetal!! 🤘🦊
Babymetal PaPaya would be a great second song as it is a summer hit for them
Another Japanese female rock band to check out is Band Maid. They play their own instruments and are serious rockers.
Yeap what he said^ the band of maids
You simply must check it out
On paper, this should not work. But it absolutely does. These girls have so much presence. Its just awesome.
I saw them 6 times when they toured the US last year,my only regret is that I couldn't go to more shows 😝🦊🤘
There is nothing else regrettable than that!
They are the pure joy of metal.. there's something about them. It shouldn't work but it does and its beilliant
They are absolutely awesome and concert had so much fun in Phily with them❤
Su-Metal, MOAMETAL, and YUIMETAL Rock.
they're now legendary; you're right about the drummer, he's a hero, as it also can be seen and heard in Road of Resistance (recommandation)
BABYMETAL are the Godzilla of the Japanese female metal genre, crushing every obstacle in their path to worldwide fame 🦊🤘
"Mom can i go start a metal band?"
"yes but you have to take your sisters too"
Really happy to see this pop up.
Obviously, you have to do ratatata next.... but the next pure babymetal song you SHOULD do is megitsune!! It's the song that really made me love them
Ruin your BABYMETAL experience going from when they were 12 years old to 26 years old and miss all the in between, well not miss but you know. I appear to be the minority here but .... yeah watch the old stuff first.

They are a breath of fresh air, energetic, cute and their band rock's
Just remember when you watch a more recent performance of Headbanger in Japan, it's not a cult.... but... 🙂

that song just works.
See You.
The whole of the first album is just absolute genius in every way. I remember just non-stop massive grin the entire time.
Headbanger, pa pa ya are awesome. The Kami band is one of the best backup bands ever. They have a tradition where when one of the younger girls becomes 20 years old they play headbanger and the birthday girl get handed the mike as an honor and puts their stamp on the songs. I love that.
Babymetal is the best live act I have ever seen and I am 52. I have been to so many gigs, but nothing gets close to the energy at a Babymetal concert.
Same, 56 here and I watched them live last year. Best concert I ever attended. So much fun, they got me in the mosh pit - lol
Babymetal brings me pure joy😂❤❤
Me too!!!
And may I be the first to recommend Babymetal x Electric Callboy - RATATATA .. their newest single
I concur
Your choice it seems most of your fan base want you to skip over all the earlier BABYMETAL stuff and get right to today, But I recommend the long road start at the beginning with ruclips.net/video/cirhQ8iLdbw/видео.html and work your way up to the present.
@@jerryhinkle3786 Does it really matter if she reacts to them in chronological order or not? Gimme Choco already isn't the beginning of babymetal so who cares if she jumps into the new song and then comes back to the older stuff later?
@@Tyyppl These people often disguise their hatred of Momo and the new BM this way.
There choreographer is Mikiko. She is amazing.
Welcome to the foxhole 😊 🤘🦊🤘
Funny u mentioned electric calboy. .
I saw Babymetal in the title, and clicked so hard I broke my mouse!!!
My 1st memory of seeing "Baby Metal" was on the The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. They sang, Give Me Chocolate. I've been a fan ever since.
I love these girls this was the first song I heard from them once I heard it I was hooked 🤘💥💥🤘
Seen Babymetal twice now! Once in concert and once at a festival.
Sadly Australia never knows what they have and put them on tiny stages! Still BM can work a small or big stage and own the whole venue 🖤🖤
‘Road of Resistance’ is the big reaction song you need to cover!
Moa (one of the secondary singers) takes lead occasionally and I adore her vocals. Check out ‘Moametal Headbanger’
And lastly, since you’re checking out Japanese genre-bending metal, ‘Osaki Ni Shitsurei Shimasu (Pardon Me I Have To Leave)’ by Hanabie is an absolute must!!
Interestingly enough, now that they're older, their harmonics actually match a lot better with the overall music, making them just a genuinely good metal band.
seriously, there is so much great music from BM. Prepare to be bombed (in a good way) with suggestions. I'm recommending "The One - Tokyo Dome 2016"
welcome to the fox hole
🤘 🦊 🤘
As an active athlete, I bet you like their intense choreo. Their ages at this point are 16 and 14
im a 38 year old canadian metal head and babymetal is my favorite band. They make you feel some type of way.
Agreed Catch me If You Can with the Kami band intro is awesome!!
1st saw Babymetal in 2014. Its fair to say i have seen them several times since. Musically awesome and vocally great too
I hope you react to more of Babymetal's catalog!
You should check out Monochrome on the first take piano version
You realize that this was over a decade ago. They are now in their twenties and all grown up; but still dancing and singing amazing songs. The have collaborated with rappers, metal gods, and others. Their band is anonymous and world class.
This was babymetals first single ever! I believe the two backup singers(yui and moa) were 12 at the time and the lead singer(su) was 14
NOT their first single - Doki Doki was first.
@Dave_Marks oh really? Damn, I look like an ass now hahaha it was their second then maybe? Lol
This was, however, their first "viral" international hit.
Tecnicamente es como su sexto single
In fact, "Gimmi Choko" was their 6th (domestic) single release:
1. "Doki Doki Morning" (2011)
2. "Kimi to Anime ga Mitai" (2012, collab single with Kiba of Akiba)
3. "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" (2012)
4. "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (2013)
5. "Megitsune" (2013)
They have a couple of songs that they rap in as well
So glad to see you vibe with BABYMETAL from the get go.
Kitsune dao!
Pretty sure she should react to normal headbanger first before doing Momobanger. You know to get why that version is special:D

"I Don't Know How Young They Are, But Look Really Young"
At the time of this video's release, Su-Metal,.the lead vocalist, was 16 and Moa-Metal and Yui-Metal were 14
I've seen Babymetal live 1 time and they were great ...
I suggest a time travel to present time ( this MV is 10 years old ) They just release Ra Ta Ta Ta with Electric Callboy
🤘🦊
