This is one of the all time best recorded song performances. Everything hits here. The editing, the staging, the lighing, the audience, and the band are all note-perfect. A brilliant moment captured.
Definitely one of the best ever. That crowd control and stage presence reminded me on another group and it is so funny to me because today I found out that Stacy reacted to them last week - Queen at Live Aid and single song "Somebody to Love" live in Montreal. And to be compared to these performances should be seen as a huge huge compliment.
@@Nickyc77777 Not trying to shit on the OP, but I agree. This show is insane, and BABYMETAL are good live, but they aren't a fraction of Queen at Live Aid. Not even close.
BABYMETAL's manager knew that they had to be the best at dancing, singing, and have the best band behind them to make sure people took them seriously and not just as some type of gimmick or comedy band who were caricatures of musicians in any way. This was the exact same approach that Weird Al Yankovic took when he started out. He knew that he was doing parodies and that they would get some traction, but wouldn't necessarily be taken serious if he just had some guys who knew how to play instruments behind him. He needed THE BEST possible musicians and he sought them out and got them. Yes, he is known for being comedic, but his songs and reputation as a musician are legendary and new musicians say they know they made it when he parodies their stuff. That's why BABYMETAL is on point with everything, including production. They are serious performers who want their fans to have the best possible experience and to be taken seriously by the music community at-large. There are still some people who will say they suck, Su doesn't have a good voice, and other things that are completely false and hateful, just because they aren't willing to open themselves up to new things and think all metal music HAS TO BE the way it was 40 years ago: completely angst-ridden and no fun. However, the girls have been accepted in the metal community and in music in general because they ARE that good! They are the group that started this metal renaissance in Japan. Before them, metal performances were very sparsely attended, usually in very small clubs or "underground" venues not many people knew of or went to. Now, because of BABYMETAL, you have so many metal groups coming out of Japan, especially female metal groups. It's amazing and because they ran with it when they had the chance. They've performed with some of the biggest names in metal and music, opening for the likes of Korn, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Lady Gaga. They've collaborated with Tom Morello, Bring Me The Horizon, of course ECB most recently, DragonForce, and so many others. Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Rob Zombie, the guys in Metallica, etc. have all embraced them because they know talent when they see it. They have seen the commitment the girls put into everything they do. It's amazing how far they've come, yet if you mention them to most people in the U.S. you will still get "who?" as a response, showing how far they can still go!
Great reaction - so many comments, you must have been told all about this performance (last song of a 90 minute concert, same energy and quality start to finish, over 20k people, Su 17, Yui and Moa still only 15, who was playing in the Kami Band that night etc etc). Interesting fact, it was 2 years after BABYMETAL started that the Kami Band made their first appearance, it was another 18 months after that (in March 2014) when they became their full time support for all live shows. The girls had to prove themselves and they had to find an audience nobody knew or even believed would exist for what they were doing before they got the funding for a live band, so yes the live band has legitimised what they do, but BABYMETAL is the girls - they put in the hard work and passion to make it all happen in the first place. Good luck getting tickets to see them in Oklahoma - if you can go you will have the very best time. 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. Herman Li and Sam Totman from the British power/speed metal band DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version.
Love when reactors do realize how hard working are these girls and the entire team, of course the Kami Band (Japanese) was a huge boost and we will always remember their magnificent job, right now they got another set of Western musicians and they're awesome too. 🦊🤘🔥
Last year I saw Babymetal live last year for the first time. It was like seeing the Beatles live for the first time! A truly fun and memorable experience. And, let me say, up close, live, they are all incredibly beautiful to look at!!
I’m also in Texas, but I’m flying to Hollywood, Florida to see their show. I saw them in Vegas last year and it was phenomenal. I can’t wait to see them again. Welcome to the Foxhole fellow kitsune! 🤘🦊🤘😊
I used a presale code and was able to snag VIP first entry tickets to Babymetal's show in Cincinnati. Remember the heart-shaped sunglasses Moa wears for a moment in the "RATATATA" video? I have a pair of those and I'm going to throw them on when they play that song. Who knows, maybe she'll notice and -take me back to Japan with her- borrow the sunglasses for the song. I'm also eager to see who the opening act will be. Babymetal is the third of three concerts I have left to go this year with Lindsey Stirling happening in August (now _that's_ who I want to see collab with Babymetal) and then KMFDM is coming to Columbus in October.
It true that show out of Japan aren't exaclty the same. Not the same, they do not have the same budget (of course) but the spirit is still there and they ALWAYS gives their all in every performance. That's That's what makes them so special and loved. In December I was able to go to a concert in Madrid and it was the best of my life. Watching everybody screaming and dancing, moshing and having fun. I need more.
This was a really joyous, enthusiastic, thoughtful reaction. You really get what an effort goes into a Babymetal performance. Singing, choreography, intruments, pyro, lighting all down to the second. I personally really appreciate when a reactor like yourself is getting the whole picture like that. Su has said that to this day this remains perhaps her favorite vocal performance. Believe me when I tell you that Babymetal fans completely appreciate the incredible instrumentals from the original Kami Band here and their current touring band Kami Band West (both iterations with incredible drummers, beasts really). Moa the girl predominately on the left was asked once what her fitness routine was. She said, "Being in Babymetal IS my fitness routine." Kinda says it all. Oh in this performance Su was 17 and Yui and Moa were both 15.
I'm fairly new to babymetal as well. About a year ago I saw the MV for "Gimme Chocolate". After the initial WTF moment, I was sold. It was brilliant. Then down the foxhole I went. Yes, the Kami band is made up of brilliant musicians and they do get the occasional spotlight. I saw BM in Los Angeles last year at a 6000 seat hall and, while not having the elaborate staging seen in the Japanese concerts, it was still an amazing show. Recommended.
My most favorite song from Babymetal is the rendition of “No rain, No rainbow” in Hiroshima from the legend - S - Baptism XX in 2017 . SueMetal is from Hiroshima and she is almost in tears at the end of that balad rendition. Better than all the other version because of her emotion state in that particular song, location and time.
If you want to see the original Kami band featured, one of their best (IMO) songs is a Su solo song but with a Kami Band intro: "BABYMETAL | Rondo of Nightmare (w/ Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro)"
I am going to the Hollywood, FL show for my second live experience. I am totally with you about wanting to learn the choreography, if only for their song "Headbanger". I love to dance, and have held a little grudge ever since school dances, and then through adulthood, when girls/women did not consider rock music danceable! Upon discovery, Babymetal reminded me that there is so much fun to be had in the rock realm!
First off, thanks for making these reaction videos! Secondly, this live performance is, IMO, one of the best live musical performances of all time. Let me explain... The premise of this song; this was Babymetal's "victory anthem". It was their celebration of becoming a full fledged musical group, no longer a sub-group under the shadow of a larger entity. They accomplished this in spite of a lot of doubters and negative comments that they had to endure in their early days. When they spike the flags at the beginning, it symbolizes a triumphant combatant declaring victory by planting their flag. The background and symbolism aside, here are a few more reasons this performance demands so much respect. I. Energy, you commented on it because it is so clear. However, what is not immediately known is that this was the final song of a 16 song setlist and they had been going nonstop like this for over 90 minutes. Not only the girls, but the band too. Imagine that drummer's fatigue! II. Command of the crowd. Sumetal has been compared to Freddy Mercury in her ability to direct 25,000+ people with simple hand motions. BUT, in this performance she was just barely SEVENTEEN years old (Yui and Moa were only 15). To have this much charisma, poise, and professionalism, not to mention pure talent at such a young age! Speaking of the crowd... III. Possibly the most striking part of this entire performance is that this was only the THIRD time this song was performed live in front of a crowd! They mad it look like they had done this performance live 100 times! The first performance of this song was a few months prior in ENGLAND (there is a whole backstory/lore to that) and the crowd was like 4,000 people (like the small venues in the US you were talking about). The second time this song was performed was in Japan, but it was more or less a private show with 3,000 or so "Babymetal Apocalypse" members there. The Satima Super Arena (where this video was recorded) has a max capacity of over 36,000 and every report indicates that there were over 22,000 in the main arena that night (SSA is the third largest indoor arena in the world). Here is the mind bending part of all of this. How did 20k+ people act like they had heard the song live dozens of times??? It is very easy to surmise that most of the crowd heard the song for the first time that night. The album that this song first appeared on would not be released for more than a year after this show. The song was not on iTiunes yet, it was 2015, so no fancams on RUclips or Instagram. The only official way to have gotten your hands on this song prior to this show was, if you bought a limited edition of a Live album (Live at Budokan: Red Night) you got a card with a code that allowed you to download this song. However, that live album came out just THREE days before this show. I said all of that to drive home why this performance is so impactful to me. A 17 yr old with two 15 yr olds, who many in the music world dismissed as a gimmick side act, are who you saw here controlling that crowd, even at the end of a 90+ minute performance, and they were leading them through a song that, I believe, most in attendance had no way of hearing before that night. It is truly something special!
Babymetal's shows in the U.S and Europe are just practice sessions for their Japanese arena concerts 😅, Japan is really where you see the girls go out and give the best energy, well it is their home.
Love this reaction, can't watch baby metal without smiling 😊. I love how you give props to the bands skill. Because of that, you should really look into catch me if you can live, I think they have a treat for you there :)
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I hope you can get the ticket to Oklahoma concert on Nov.29. The crowd involvement (circle pit, call & response, chant etc.) occurs wherever they go on this planet. This anthemic song was played in almost every show (either in their headline or in huge festival) The audience reaction is always similar to it in this video. You said the audience was organized. I believe we are tamed and trained by the young girls 🤣. In your video, Su shouted some words at 10:24 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She has shouted it occasionally since then and when she does, it is with her friendly smile and matured mild voice that I love 😄
i went to their show in Amsterdam last week and let me tell u, even though the venue’s a little smaller they sure dont disappoint 😂 best night of my life 🙏🔥
Never thought I'd see them live. But last year (2023) saw them with DETHKLOK and it wasn't just a concert, it was a total experience. The girls, the band, the fans. Such a fun positive experience.
Great reaction. 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻 and I can confirm from experience that smaller more intimate shows truly have their own qualities. You're closer to the girls and can more easily see all the choreo and the girls smiles and interactions with the crowd 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
better buy them fast. they are selling out everywhere. they had to add 2 more shows in CA and added another show in NYC. last i looked at it, out of the 18 shows, 11 are already sold out so maybe you can get reselling tickets. just remember they were 17 and 15 years old in this video. yes you have to see them live and experience it for yourself. i saw them 2019 at The Forum in LA. last year they did like 95 shows and are already having the same thing this year.
What I love about this performance is the professionalism at such a young age. And they've never strayed away from it. I mean I'm the same age as Su-metal and there's no way I'd ever think of getting on stage to a crowd that big when I was at the age of 15 😂 Their crowd control is insane. To have the chanting going to fast (8:57) only to have Su-chan correct them and bring them back on tempo for the band to come back in on. They work so damn hard on everything and metal "gatekeepers" love to ignore that because at face value all they see is 3 cute girls dancing to metal and think it's a gimmick. It's no gimmick if they've been doing this for close to 15 years now and are a massive global phenomenon.
They seem to prepare even for each walking steps. In this song two dancer girls start to wave the flags on the sing-along without seeing each other and that must be prepared when and how you do.
I'm in Texas. I'm going to the OKC show. Venue is kinda small. Hope to see you there. I saw them in Houston last year. Im on the 2nd level. General admission is going to be stuffed. See you.🦊
Houston was my first ever show last year! Dallas the day afterwards was my second 😂 Sad I have to miss them this year, worst timing possible with the OKC show.. but it's ok, with how they're blowing up I have no worries about them coming back ❤
What surprises me most positively is that the girls in BabyMetal are still only teenagers in that video. But a wild control of the stage and the audience. And Su ? her voice has evolved wildly since. 👍🏽
Perfect response (Jan 10 2015) to the metal gatekeepers who dismissed their 2014 feats (Sonisphere UK, viral 'Gimme Choco' MV) as gimmicky. This particular performance would also earn BM a lot of defenders among vet rock musicians, & left many jaded RUclips reactors in tears during the second half of last decade. Crazier thing is RoR itself wasn't even officially released yet at that time. But the 20,000 crowd somehow worked out how to participate en masse after watching fancams of its live debut (under the provisional song title 'The One'; RUclips has the clip) in London about two months earlier, & the audio track dropping as a limited downloadable bonus a few days before the Saitama gig. The concert itself ('Legend 2015'), with RoR as the finale, was basically lightning in a bottle. BM had switched to a live band (the brilliant Kami Band East) in mid-2013, started playing bigger gigs (1k-2k) instead of showcases (300-700), culminating in a sold-out 10,000 show at the start of 2014. They then audaciously took on the big bad world of heavy metal overseas (50k at Sonisphere UK, 40k at HeavyMTL Canada, 20k during the Lady Gaga tour), met with harsh blowback (the BM girls were only 15-17 years old) while diligently honing their stagecraft, & finally countered with their stunning homecoming gig at Saitama. For many netizens, this was the first glimpse of the optimal 'Team Babymetal' live spectacle: Su's vocals & uncharted showmanship; Moa/Yui exhilaratingly working the crowd; the BM trio's energy & stamina; the Kamis' dazzling musicianship; Mikikometal's vibrant choreography; Kobametal & his team's musical explorations (RoR was the bridge between the more juvenile-themed debut album & the kawaii metal-consolidating second album); Hidefumi Usami's live sound engineering; along most crucially with (& something overseas gigs like even Sonisphere UK didn't have): tens of thousands of Japanese attendees actively involving in the many call-&-response, crowd-participation parts. The only thing lacking was English subtitles, since RoR's lyrics (& most of BM's repertoire) are very positive & uplifting. Check out the Budokan 2021 or PIA Arena 2023 versions to understand what the song is about. Best thing is BM kept getting better, literally gig after gig, during this classic era (2014-2016). Look up the full 7-song daytime set at 'MetRock 2015' on Dailymotion, which took place a few months after this Saitama gig, for how manical they were (BM, Kamis, crowd). As for truly special, jawdropping BM highlights, I recommend 'Moabanger 2019' (the earlier & later 'Headbanger' birthday versions with Su, Yui & Momo are also impressive, but Moa's take is an absolute delight) or 'Monochrome 2023' (all 3 versions, namely lyric video, First Take piano take, & PIA Arena live, each deeply resonating in its own way) next.
They introduced me to my all female Japanese rock and heavy metal journey! This is a massive rabbit hole I've been exploring since 2015. From Canada, Peace Out!
During this concert that big bridge that's in the middle is not there for parts of the show, it flies in and out from the ceiling by chain motors depending on the song.
If you thought this was great. You should see when they opened with this song at Tokyo Dome - Red Night. A circular stage and another stage on top, about 100-ft above. Along with three catwalk coming out, shaped like coffins. Then during the Chant, the late guitarist Mikio Fujioka (not in the video) played the Chant with harmonics while the crowd replied chanting back. The use of the Kami band did definitely help with the popularity of Babymetal, especially overseas. Unfortunately the management and the J-pop Factory that runs Babymetal didn't think as much. At the end of 2017, (which were the first shows without Yui "glove right hand" and the last with Mikio) they took away solo intros address them in Black in 2019 they put mask on them to kind of hide their identities. Then they started using American players from the Star Wars band - Galactic Empire and a drummer who changes bands more than he changes underwear. The East Kamis would come back and play up until January 2023. Where in the released DVD, there is not one direct shot of a band member.. Since then it's been the West Kami band, who are not a bad band, but they're definitely not as tight as the original East Kami band. Shows now are not the same.
at the moment of this show they already has 5 years performing experience. They were WAY younger, when they started. Look at this video - "BABYMETAL-Doki Doki Morning Rehearsals HD"
It's so great seeing you discovering the greatness that is Babymetal! I live in Japan, and STILL haven't been able to see them live😭 Please get that ticket and go watch them! You're going to have an awesome time!!!
Babymetal only do these massive spectaculars in Japan. If you want to see them perform in their element, you have to make the trip to Japan to see them on home turf. Experiencing Babymetal in Japan in front of the home crowd who all know exactly what to do and know all the songs is the best way to see them. I've been to Japan four times to see them live, and it's been amazing each and every time. This performance was at "Legend 2015 - The New Year's Fox Festival" in January 2015, so Su would have been 17, and Yui and Moa would have been 15. The concert was at Saitama Super Arena with a crowd of 20,000 people. Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but the Kami Band aren't considered to be part of Babymetal. Only the three young ladies up front are Babymetal. The Kami Band are session musicians that only play with Babymetal at live shows; they don't play on the albums. They are all amazing musicians, and you are right that they definitely contributed to Babymetal gaining legitimacy in the west, and the fans love them almost as much as we love Babymetal. The fans are often frustrated that the Kami Band are constantly put in the background, but Kobametal has, by his actions, made it very clear that he wants all attention to be on the girls and not on the band.
This performance hooked me on them years ago, they are such a great group, fantastic every time. I hope you eventually get to see them live in Japan some day.
You REALLY need to watch their performance of "Tales of the Destinies live Tokyo Dome 2016" It's the only time they have performed it live because it's so complicated! It's absolutely insane!!!
@@jcdenton4911 It's honestly one of the only live performances that I've seen them break a sweat, the choreography is off the chart and Su is singing live throughout the whole thing! I can defo see why they have only done it live once!!
Yes, in this song she always order a Wall of Death. And it is always a Test that Moa and Momo worked correctly. Under normal circumstances the audience eats out of Sus Hand. And if she orders Sing, they will do it as good as they can and as loud as they can. No. Under the current conditions it is pretty expensive. So at the moment they tour through Europe as Showrunners 250.000 Euro extra per Show.
(There is another version of this performance where they go to the other bridges and thank the crowd- I think the official version cuts out that part for time.) You are becoming the One! My friend has the band scores, the bass drum in a lot of songs are just 16th notes (really fast!) Headbanger is another iconic song, many versions. (East) Kami band are spectacular, they now use the West Kami band ( wear masks).
The live performance, as seen on the Blu-ray is nearly twice as long as the "we are - BABYMETAL" part is done in at least 4 different areas of the stage. The Official video only shows two, and they are cut down from the original length as well.
As a 38 yr old lifelong metal head I can't get enough of Babymetal!! I went down the foxhole a little over a year ago and now I feel like a proud papa when I see their success. I saw them in Dallas and I'll be making the trip to OKC for Babymetal!!
Nothing but respect and admiration for these young ladies. They have performed this song countless times live and always give it 200%%% (albeit a shorter version since reaching their 20's) They truly love their fans and give them the best show possible. SuMetal is a SU-perstar!!!!!!!
Nice reaction! The most impressive performance of this song, IMHO. Su-Metal does the "Split!" just in case, nowadays. Most of the time the Wall of Death is ready to go already! And even if it´s a small venue, the Wall of Death is HUGE 😄You said "squeeze their cheeks"? You had Yuimetal in mind while saying this, right? 🤣 Yep, that stage and the crowd were breathtaking! Everybody wants to see such a concert (me too!), I know. BUT... if you get to the front rows, you´ll get something, the Japanese crowd won´t ever get... possibly personal interaction! I still dream about being at a concert in Japan, but I saw them last year in Cologne, Germany, 4k people venue... it was AMAZING! No Hedoban battle with Moametal for me, but they were just a few meters away! It feels unreal for the first few minutes, but they are damn real and they are damn amazing! Get your ticket ASAP! 😉 P.S.: Su-Metal was still 17 years old at that performance, Yuimetal and Moametal were still 15.
"...I should bow at the same time". Watch Babymetal Headbanger Live at Makuhari 2023 and you'll see just that 😉 Trust me, you haven't seen anything like this before.
Excellent reaction, thanks! Yes, they are extremely organized. This is from January 2015 Su-metal just turned 17 three weeks before while Yui and Moa were 15 at the time. And yes, they already were seasoned professionals. Everyone that has worked with them (and is able to talk about it) says that they are incredible pros. Moa mentioned that they train "only" six days a week. 😁 But we also enjoy when they show their real nature acting silly and goofy on stage, something they don't usually do on large format shows that go into a Blu-ray (like this one). So, sometimes smaller venues are better to see this little details (and you can also be closer to the stage). But yes, the larger productions are something else and fans travel to Japan to see them. They have performed only two arena-sized solo shows outside Japan: Wembley Arena in London (2016) and The Forum in LA (2019). 🤘🦊
Same here! Shame they aren't coming to texas this time around but I managed to convince some friends who know little to nothing about them to come with me followed by a weekend camping trip. Hoping to convert them lol
These guys are awesome live, obviously everything is planned to the tiniest degree but it is also executed impeccably. I believe this song was written by a member of Dragon Force.
Nice reaction to the incredible musical experience know as BabyMetal. You should definitely go to see them in Oklahoma City. I have seen them three times, including at Fox Fest 2024 in Japan last month, where they first performed “Ratatata” live with Nico & Kevin, and I am going to see them in Albuquerque on November 30. They are always a joy to behold. While the venues they play in the states are not as grand as the ones in Japan, you will still experience their talent and energy; and the quality of their performance is the same. They give their all at every show for every crowd, large or small. At this 2015 performance in the Saitama Super Arena, Suzuka had just turned 17, while Moa and Yui were 15½. I hope you will continue with your BabyMetal reaction journey. To see them attack & conquer 65K metalheads at a metal festival in the UK, you should definitely react to “Ijime, Dame, Zettai, Live at Sonisphere 2014.” For a more recent example of BabyMetal magic, check out “Monochrome (PIA Arena 2023 Live).”
and, as you saw, Su was up front, and Yui and Moa behind her. They hooked arms, stepped away from each other just far enough, and Su backed up between them without ever looking. That shows faith in them to get it right.
Hi from Ireland, great reaction Stacy, enjoying your babymetal reactions, they were so young to control such an epic crowd, that guy must be famous now for his off key moment 😊 definitely do monochrome live at pua, it's up to date 2023 performance, megitsune at pia also great, if you're interested in an interesting comparison to this performance, road of resistance live at pia, shows them today doing another epic performance, keep up the great reactions 😊
As a fan living in Japan, I envy you for you can see them at a smaller venue! (In terms of choreography, you should check their MVs, such as "Shanti Shanti Shanti", "Metali!" and "Elevator Girl")
With the recent metal bands i have listened to and listening to BABYMETAL for a while, i like the critisism and speaking of hardships in life and very heavy focused sound of some western bands. But the positivity of BABYMETAL songs has helped me to get through my issues more than any metal songs that i really identified with the lyrics, and thats without even understanding BABMYMETAL lyrics themselves (only after looking at the translation). The positivity with metal imo is one of the reasons ppl have love/hate issues with BABYMETAL, metal should be more positive, its nice to confront a problem but even more to know how to move on and overcome it. For some ppl Metal is still about hate, critisism, rebelion, anti-___, we need some more positivity in life, i mean in metal lol :) Also the old kami band had a tone i love more than the western (both slap hard but i like the former better).
You need to do their "Headbanger Legend of 1997 Live" video. It was Su's birthday (she was born in 1997) and the song and performance are NUTS! Definitely check it out.
Your Babymetal reactions are rapidly becoming my favorite on your channel. The Kami band truly does slap on this track. Babymetal is truly better live every time. You'll find that the further down the " foxhole " you go, the more you will find that Babymetal is like a box of chocolate. Every song is unique. Kitsunes up.
Thank you for your great reaction! If you do not mind encountering another musical awe, it is worth while visiting Rondo of Nightmare with Mischief of Metal Gods intro.
What a performance! The amount of energy these girls bring to audience is unmatched, especially Su-metal, damn! To be the front woman at her age with full crowd control, stage presence and singing while dancing flawlessly is very admirable, no wonder their producer build the entire concept of Babymetal around her. And the Kami Band of course, these guys are top notch musicians, they're very well known as the best musicians in Japan. For following this one, i recommended you to check another their earlier hits, titled: "Headbanger (Live at Legend 1997)"
_Pizza time! And Justice Forever!)_ 🦊🤘🍕 This is the best live version to follow your BM journey and you definitely gonna witness this if you got the chance to see them live at Oklahoma. Next suggestion: - Megitsune official MV. - Headbanger!! live at Legend 1997 (2013). Keep enjoying more BM songs.🦊🤘❤️
If this one made you happy they've got songs that are going to make you grin so hard they'll make your face hurt. (iine, catch me if you can,...)🙂 and songs that will hit you in the feels (monochrome, light and darkness,...) wander where you will, you may find it hard to find a bad song.
I really wish the album version was the same. At 9:09 I love the drumming. They do it twice and then move into some double bass. In the album they only do it once.
I have seen them in big venues and small. I personally prefer the smaller venues as it seems much more personal and you can see the ladies smiles with your own eyes.
Im going to the Show in Charlotte! i saw them in SF last month and they put on an amazing show theyre my fav band and its not close. one thing i have to say is that The Band behind them The Kami Band is a group of session Musicians, they are absolutley amazing at what they do! there are now 2 different bands the Eastern and Western Kamis (the Western is newer and has done most of the touring with them recently) if you want some good songs to show off the Kamis Catch me if you Can (With Kami Intro) Rondo of Nightmare with mischifs of metal gods intro those are 2 really good ones but really anything that says with intro will show them off a bit more!
Great reaction! These ladies (and their entire team) work tireless to deliver amazing performances to so many around the world. For reference, they did an intense world tour last year, from Apr to Dec 2023, doing almost 100 shows in 200 days in Asia, Australia, EU, US, and back to the EU. That's just insane, especially considering that they go hard every song on every setlist, which is typically ~10 - 15 songs. This specific show is Jan 2015, and Su-metal just turned 17, while Moa and original 3rd member Yui were 15. This is also the live debut of Road of Resistance in Japan. The original live debut was end of 2014 in London at the O2 Academy Brixton. Their band here is the Kami Band East, who has supported Babymetal for encores since 2012, fully since 2014. Their new band is Kami West, who has supported them since 2019 due to increased touring, and took over as sole backing band starting Apr 2023. Every one of them in both bands are incredible musicians in their own right. And the band also gets featured as well via solos and various intros throughout a concert. I hope you get a chance to see them live this year!! 🤘🦊
This is an epic performance. Great reaction. As far as i k ö. They only do these big shows in Japan. Anyhow they are great even in small venues. I saw them live in Stockholm Sweden last year. Amazing ❤❤❤
"Road OF Resistance", not Road TO Resistance. A common mistake and for two reasons: first, people tend to understand that roads lead TO somewhere so they subconsciously substitute the preposition "of" with the preposition "to", and they do that for the second reason: they are reading what they want it to say, not what it does say - in short, they're not paying attention. 😁 But you did get it right the second time, and the thumbnail title is spot on! 👍 Keep rockin’ BABYMETAL!!! We are . . . BABYMETAL!!! KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘 See you!!!
Already bought my ticket for the OKC show. I haven't stopped vibrating since. XD The Criterion is tiny, but I'm just hoping that means I get close enough to see Moa's dimples. (Honestly, I'm disabled and all the balcony seats were sold out, so if I don't get to the front to lean on the gate, they might have to carry me out on a stretcher. I'd rather be killed by this concert than to miss it, tho.) 🤘🦊🤘
At the Roundhouse in London, they had a section just to side for anyone with difficulties standing walking, etc . Su at one point came over and interacted with the people their then Moa and MoMo . Hopefully, they will do something similar so you dont miss out. Have a great time 😁🤘🏼🦊
@JudgementalElitist I am sure the adrenaline will ķick in big time as it gets nearer going 😁 have a great time. I am sure you will and hopefully see Moa's dimples up close ❤️😁 🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Great reaction! Another metal you might like given your reaction t0 the Queen audience at Live Aid is this one - this one estimated at way over 1 million people - it will take your breath away - "Metallica - Enter Sandman Live Moscow 1991 HD" The first few minutes are Escasy of Gold by Ennio Morricone - Italian composer who wrote the piece for a famous Western Movie (to hear and see the best rendition though - Danish National Symphony Orchestra doing The Good, The Bad, The Ugly/Ecsatcy of Gold)
I didn't know the song before either, but from what I hear, you can see very clearly: I think the german Blind Guardian invented this Japanese metal genre about 25-30 years ago... Blind Guardian were/are also very successful in Japan and they developed it really well...
I've seen Babymetal in the States three times in three different cities I can tell you even without all the bells and whistles you get from a show in Japan they still put on a great show without all of that I live in Lynchburg Virginia so I've had to travel to see them each time once in Charlotte North Carolina once in DC and once in Philadelphia this past last year last summer
👍👍👍Agree with every point x 💯!!! "Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational BABYMETAL!" 🦊🦊🦊 🖖❤
@@IAMisLove ..."As they continuously fire off banger after banger at the audience, like a machine gun of fun, going RATATATA" 🤣
Legend has it the crowd is still, to this very day, "woahing" in full throat!

The little “see you” at the end breaks the adorable scale.
"When Su-Metal goes on stage, she is the tallest 5'1" person in the world"
Last year I saw Babymetal live last year for the first time.
I saw them at "The Forum Show" in 2019 with the moving stage! I have the Blu-ray from the concert.
I'm in SE Asia currently, I saw them last year in Bangkok, I want to try and see them in Madison, WI in November. But, I don't like cold weather. 😂😂😂
The original Kami band were guitarists Hiroki Arai and Shiren, bassist RYO and drummer SHIN, none of which were on either of these performances.
They are sooooo worth the trip no matter how small the stage is.
I'm goin to bed at their Orlando show Nov 5th at the Hard Rock! Can't wait to see their live performance, actually live!
i went to their show in Amsterdam last week and let me tell u, even though the venue’s a little smaller they sure dont disappoint 😂 best night of my life 🙏🔥
Glad to see you give the band credit. They are amazing musicians!
Don’t worry about the venue size! They still give it 100% and in the smaller venues you get to see them better.
Never thought I'd see them live. But last year (2023) saw them with DETHKLOK and it wasn't just a concert, it was a total experience. The girls, the band, the fans. Such a fun positive experience.
"Maybe I should bow"...time for Headbanger!
She hasn’t done Headbanger yet? Ummm YEAHHHH

The off-key guy always cracks me up. I love this performance so much. Absolutely legendary
Well, he'll know it's him every time he watches the video. 🤣
WoahhwAhOah what a dude
better buy them fast. they are selling out everywhere. they had to add 2 more shows in CA and added another show in NYC. last i looked at it, out of the 18 shows, 11 are already sold out so maybe you can get reselling tickets. just remember they were 17 and 15 years old in this video. yes you have to see them live and experience it for yourself. i saw them 2019 at The Forum in LA. last year they did like 95 shows and are already having the same thing this year.
What I love about this performance is the professionalism at such a young age. And they've never strayed away from it. I mean I'm the same age as Su-metal and there's no way I'd ever think of getting on stage to a crowd that big when I was at the age of 15 😂
Their crowd control is insane.
Thanks for the great reaction! RoR is a Wonderful song!🤘🦊🎸
Dallas the day afterwards was my second 😂
Sad I have to miss them this year, worst timing possible with the OKC show.. but it's ok, with how they're blowing up I have no worries about them coming back ❤
What surprises me most positively is that the girls in BabyMetal are still only teenagers in that video.
Saw them in Atlanta last year, and I've got tickets for the upcoming show in Charlotte, NC.
During this concert that big bridge that's in the middle is not there for parts of the show, it flies in and out from the ceiling by chain motors depending on the song.
They were in Houston not that long ago and had a great set. You really need to see them live ❤
Agreed, it's such a good performance
EDIT: The time signature changes in that song are absolutely nuts too!
@@jcdenton4911 It's honestly one of the only live performances that I've seen them break a sweat, the choreography is off the chart and Su is singing live throughout the whole thing! I can defo see why they have only done it live once!!
Great reaction and I fully agree with all you’ve said👊🏽⚡️🤘🏾🦊
Yes, in this song she always order a Wall of Death.
My friend has the band scores, the bass drum in a lot of songs are just 16th notes (really fast!)
Headbanger is another iconic song, many versions.
If you want to focus on Su's voice, check out Monochrome one take performance. It's exceptional.
*First Take
As a 38 yr old lifelong metal head I can't get enough of Babymetal!!

P.S.: Su-Metal was still 17 years old at that performance, Yuimetal and Moametal were still 15.
thx 4 the react! love this performance, legendary!!
🤘🦊
Texan here! Going to the Oklahoma City show. It's only a 3 hour drive to see the metal goddesses perform!
To see the band do some individual soloing before the song kicks in check out "Catch Me If You Can" Great live performance!
Ronda of Nightmare ( with gods of mischief intro) if you want to see more of the band members….plus Su singing solo in a very intense song
and, as you saw, Su was up front, and Yui and Moa behind her.
For some ppl Metal is still about hate, critisism, rebelion, anti-___, we need some more positivity in life, i mean in metal lol :)
Also the old kami band had a tone i love more than the western (both slap hard but i like the former better).
I saw them last year in Louisville at Louder Than Life festival. They were terrific.
You need to do their "Headbanger Legend of 1997 Live" video. It was Su's birthday (she was born in 1997) and the song and performance are NUTS! Definitely check it out.
Best version of ROR 3 teens commanding 20.000 fans .
❤❤❤😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Your Babymetal reactions are rapidly becoming my favorite on your channel. The Kami band truly does slap on this track. Babymetal is truly better live every time. You'll find that the further down the " foxhole " you go, the more you will find that Babymetal is like a box of chocolate. Every song is unique. Kitsunes up.
That's how you produce and close a show!
Thank you for your great reaction! If you do not mind encountering another musical awe, it is worth while visiting Rondo of Nightmare with Mischief of Metal Gods intro.
November 29th in OKC. Usually the Japanese bands hit Texas. LoveBites is playing Dallas soon.
Great reaction, welcome to The One. I missed them here in Houston and Dallas last August.... hopefully you get to make it at OKC. Happy birthday! 🤘🦊🤘
_Pizza time! And Justice Forever!)_ 🦊🤘🍕
This is the best live version to follow your BM journey and you definitely gonna witness this if you got the chance to see them live at Oklahoma.
Next suggestion:
- Megitsune official MV.
- Headbanger!! live at Legend 1997 (2013).
Keep enjoying more BM songs.🦊🤘❤️
So glad you're going to a show! I'm going to 2! DC and Richmond! I can't wait
Im going to the Show in Charlotte! i saw them in SF last month and they put on an amazing show theyre my fav band and its not close.
one thing i have to say is that The Band behind them The Kami Band is a group of session Musicians, they are absolutley amazing at what they do! there are now 2 different bands the Eastern and Western Kamis (the Western is newer and has done most of the touring with them recently)
if you want some good songs to show off the Kamis
Catch me if you Can (With Kami Intro)
Rondo of Nightmare with mischifs of metal gods intro
those are 2 really good ones but really anything that says with intro will show them off a bit more!
This song is a colab with hermann li from dragonforce by the way ❤
Not just Herman Li but Sam Totman from Dragonforce aswell
This is an epic performance. Great reaction. As far as i k ö. They only do these big shows in Japan. Anyhow they are great even in small venues. I saw them live in Stockholm Sweden last year. Amazing ❤❤❤
You just have to see Babymetal at Sonisphere 2014 Before anything. That's where the miracle happened between them and 60.000{!) metal fans.
i saw babymetal a few days ago and they really know how to give a incredible show the show was amazing and they sound really good live
Her vocals are really highlighted in the First Take "Monochrome" version
Behind it is CATMETAL 😸😸😸😂😂
By the way, if you like Japanese Metal, I recommend X Japan, Luna Sea, Jupiter, it's really interesting
I'm going to the OKC show. You should totally come see them. They are so good live, even in the smaller venues. Hope you can make it.
Even the out of key guy was epic 😁🤘🦊
Awesome 👍 !
" Baby MetaL ...
_ D.E.A.T.H
_ Gimme Chocolate
_ Catch me if you Can
_ Road of Resistance
_ Head Banger
_ Megitsune
😉🤘💜🦊 Very GOOD Crowd !
Keep rockin’ BABYMETAL!!!
We are . .
Will you survive? Only the Fox God knows!
At the Roundhouse in London, they had a section just to side for anyone with difficulties standing walking, etc . Su at one point came over and interacted with the people their then Moa and MoMo . Hopefully, they will do something similar so you dont miss out. Have a great time 😁🤘🏼🦊
@@martinmetal7481 RUclips didn't tell me about this comment. Thank you! I'm hoping the adrenaline will keep me afloat regardless. XD
@JudgementalElitist I am sure the adrenaline will ķick in big time as it gets nearer going 😁 have a great time. I am sure you will and hopefully see Moa's dimples up close ❤️😁
🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Great reaction!
Another metal you might like given your reaction t0 the Queen audience at Live Aid is this one - this one estimated at way over 1 million people - it will take your breath away - "Metallica - Enter Sandman Live Moscow 1991 HD" The first few minutes are Escasy of Gold by Ennio Morricone - Italian composer who wrote the piece for a famous Western Movie (to hear and see the best rendition though - Danish National Symphony Orchestra doing The Good, The Bad, The Ugly/Ecsatcy of Gold)
Simply and abosluely amazing performance! No more words. As always, great Megitsune. See you!🤟🦊🇯🇵🔥🔥🔥
I didn't know the song before either, but from what I hear, you can see very clearly: I think the german Blind Guardian invented this Japanese metal genre about 25-30 years ago... Blind Guardian were/are also very successful in Japan and they developed it really well...
I’m in the DFW and am planning on hitting the OKC show since they aren’t coming down here to Texas. I’ll look for you in the pit 😂
Already got tickets to see them in DC on my birthday :)
Going to their show in Charlotte, NC and it will be my first time seeing them. I've been following these girls since like 2014 and I'm so excited.
The Raleigh show is a 1400 seat theater, which is going to be up close in personal. I can’t wait.!!
Still having this energy after a full show, they're fantastic.
