So you've done Babymetal Gimme Chocolate. That's most people's first sample. Andiroo was talking crowd. Want to blow your mind? Watch Babymetal Road of Resistance Live. Remember that at the time, these girls were all well under 20. Great stage performance. If you do more Babymetal I'll toss more suggestions out there.
Make sure to pick the one with ~35M views - it's a better live action view, there's another one but with less views - the cameras aren't as favorable to the live action - trust me. Also do headbanger live later - it is epic too
Great first reaction ... and yes this was a live concert, the crowd are not choreographed (although their crowds do know what to do when in most of their songs since BABYMETAL want them to be part of the performance) - but they do follow the lead the girls give them (this was the song's debut, the crowd had never heard it before). No the audio was not live, this is the official video so the audio is from the studio recording ... they sound better live! This was recorded over 10 years ago in December 2013. We have watched them grow up to become one of the very best live bands on the planet. They formed in 2010, Su-metal the lead singer was 12 and the whole concept was formed around her vocal talents and stage presence. Her two younger friends Yuimetal (up to October 2017, she left in October 2018 because of poor health) and Moametal (and since April last year Momometal) provide backing vocals, harmonies and most importantly they get the crowd involved with their choreo - Yui and Moa were both 11 in 2010. 'Gimme Chocolate' is one of their fun songs, this is the video that got them noticed before they started touring the world in 2014 ... it is not one of their deepest or best songs (by a long way), but it is often the first thing people hear from them. Sadly it is the often only thing a lot of people hear and they judge them on this one song. They have missed out on the best musical entertainment I've found in many decades of listening to and enjoying all sorts of music (mainly but not exclusively rock and metal). BABYMETAL have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last - some are good hard metal, some (like this) lean towards their pop roots, they do everything in between and they will also mix and blend in so many other musical styles and genres with the metal ... and as I said, the whole thing was formed and developed around the lead singer's vocal talents - this song really doesn't even begin to show how incredibly versatile and talented she is.
Babymetal is 'surprisingly' good... it's WAY better than it should be. This is one of their 'cute' songs that is just all about the hook..... but their serious songs have a strange poignancy and relevance. Their song "Road of Resistance' is straight up a must listen. It has the musical feel of some of the best arena guitar rock from the 70's and 80's... which fits why someone like the lead singer of Judas Priest would duet with them LOL..
Best way to describe. Everything about it tells you "I shouldn't like this. This should be too cheesy, to much fluff....." and can't help it, love it every time.
BabyMetal!!! Many metal heads don't like them, but I think that they're very young and very talented, and the beats are heavy. They're very popular around the world and I suggest listening to more of them. They're very good live and their crowds are usually insyc with the band. I suggest "Headbanger" or the song "BxMxC" has hiphop elements in it that you might enjoy next. Thanks for the content
They sound just as good if not better live, to be honest, Su Metal (the lead girl) has a VOICE on her! You need to watch both Karate and Pa Pa Ya (which features a Thai rapper, if you ever wanted to see idol dancing set to rapping over hardcore metal), the live versions As well as the Bringe Me The Horizon x Babymetal "Kingslayer" Live version. As far as the audience goes, Japanese idol groups "train" their audiences, there's something of an expectation of what to do during each song, and thats just part of how the fan/group interactions are
This is the studio version of the song overlaying their live performance. The legit live performance you need to see is "Road of Resistance" - and keep in mind that that performance was over an hour into a show where they are basically doing this high energy choreography - and it's just...wow.
Loved your reaction to this. Been a Babymetal fan for over a decade - they are an incredible band, and are absolutely insane to watch live. The lead singer Su Metal has an incredible voice, and just got better as she got older. Headbanger, Karate, Road to Resistance - there are so many great songs of theirs to react to.
To be fair, it's not only about chocolate. The Japanese lyrics translate to: "Can I have a bit of chocolate / But my weight worries me a bit these days". Same thing with Papaya, they're contrasting the sweet and spicy mix of papaya-pok-pok with the struggles of adult life: "Life is like a Chocolate Box Box / Mix and mash up like Papaya-Pok-Pok / Knock, knock, knock, struggling / Pound our lives with some happiness and sadness." They're not the most complicated lyrics ever, but neither are the rock of the 60s & 70s. This is fun dance music for teens with lyrics that touch on the stresses and worries of young people.
Finally Baby Metal!!! I went deep into the rabbit hole in 2023 and I think they are really great. This song is an oldie and although very popular it's not among my faves. I wish you could react to such epic songs like Divine Attack (live) or Monochrome (live at PIA Arena). Another super banger and the longest due reaction on the channel would surely be Bring Me The Horizon - 'Kingslayer' ft. BABYMETAL (Live In Tokyo).
Babymetal are honestly one of the best bands to see live, they are phenomenal. Definitely need to watch some of their other stuff, Pa pa ya, headbanger, monochrome.
Babymetal is a wicked Foxhole to go down, I have been a fan of theirs since 2015, they were formed in 2010, there is quite a story behind their creation and the whole lore behind them, also once you’ve listened to a few more songs check out the Guide to Babymetal by cryptic misery the 40+ min long video it will answer many questions for you
These girls were in their early teens in this video. They are in their 20's now and are one of the top metal acts in the world today. They'll be hosting a festival in Japan this May and Electric Callboy is one of the invited band's to be playing there🦊🤘
Babymetal is Japan's #1 International Group. With #1 Albums in the UK and in the USA on Billboard's "Top Rock Album" chart, Babymetal has been turning the World Metal Scene on its Ear for more than a decade!! More Babymetal Always!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Tom Morello did a song with them called METALI!!, he tuned his guitar to sound classical Japanese. There’s a few collab’s with other metal bands, Kingslayer w/ Bring Me The Horizon is one of my favourites.
Koba has said multiple times that the name had nothing to do with their ages. He was intent on creating a new genre, and the name was a reference to it being a "baby" genre of music, a newborn genre. It was also a play on words because one of the Japanese words for "heavy" is "bebi," which is pronounced almost the same as "baby," so "bebi metaru" literally means "heavy metal." At the time he conceived the name, he didn't even know who was going to be in the group.
@garykeeling2275 I think he may have said that because the girls were sensitive to being called babies. I have seen interviews when they were young and yui and moa were both pretty sensitive about being thought of as small.
Some live performances id suggest from babymetal: "Megitsune Live at PIA arena (eng subs)" "Headbanger!! Live at budokan (eng subs)" "Monochrome live at PIA arena (eng subs)" Hope you enjoy what you hear if you come back to it 🤘🦊
I'm Japanese. Thank for your reaction. BABYMETAL is not metal band but 'METAL DANCE UNIT'(in official).😁 And they are already adults now. The vocalist is always selected as one of the top rock singers in the world by famous music magazines in the United Kingdom and is called 'Queen' in the metal world. So I recommend their latest official MV, for example 'Mirror mirror', 'Metal kingdom' on You Tube.😀
About time xD Dude I've followed your journey with Rammstein and it is my firm belief BABYMETAL is the only other band that compares to Rammstein in terms of live show production. I'm excited and hyped for your journey ahead. And don't worry, their liveshows are fire. It's not choreographed or faked. BABYMETAL is one of the most interesting and unique bands on the planet with some of the most epic live shows with the most epic and wild crowds. I'm ready for more.
Babymetal liveshows is just crazy.. im not really putting it on playlists and listen to it, but the liveshows is out of this world still, and something not seen this way before.. so i watch those for sure..
Gimme Chocolate is not a meme song as some people think tho, it may look like that but it has actual cultural meaning. So makes sense some people would miss it as they don't usually interpret the lyrics with BABYMETAL but Japanese people I'm sure they are able to get the context of it.
@@BeccaVineszIt still isn't that great of a song to introduce someone to, since there isn't much there. It's pretty much a tiny verse and tiny chorus, repeated a couple times.
Been a BM fan for over 6 years. And as the years go by, you start appreciating Gimme Choco more and more. And it's a banger live, whatever people think of it.
When you see the skeleton band they are singing to a track. Their actual band is called the Kami Band and it is made up of some of the best metal players in Japan. You need to watch Road of Resistance and Papaya. They’ve opened for Judas Priest and other legendary bands. They are extremely popular and their crowds are real.
I desperately wish people wouldn’t recommend Gimme Chocolate first. They do it for shock value but BabyMetal have so many better songs and have collabed with half the metal industry. Pleasepleaseplease give them a second listen with Road of Resistance, Live in Japan.
That's how Japanese concerts are. They really do come across as almost choreographed at times. There are JPop concerts where everyone has a glowstick up in the air and they are all in sync.
It's still crazy to me that people haven't heard this song. It's only been out 10+ years. But it's also great that new people are discovering Babymetal for the first time. I would highly recommend checking out the newest song (it's a collab between F.hero and Bodyslam) called "Leave it all Behind" just for a comparison between then and now.
In a recent interview, the interviewer said that the girls probably practice their choreo everyday, and Moametal (the girl usually on the right side of the video) basically said "No, just 6 days a week.". WTF! That's why you don't see them winded or tired, and they can sing while jumping/dancing around! 🤘🦊🤘
This is all live and filmed in concert in Japan, the audio is from the studio for the video version. You can watch the actual live performance, there really isn't much difference
FYI: The audience is NOT choreographed🤣🤣🤣 This WAS a live show, but this particular video is studio song over live video unfortunately. There are plenty of ACTUAL live videos to choose from. Babymetal is specifically made for live shows.
Nkotb but in Japan. They were put together like a boy band, but I like this . Check out them playing with Rob Halford of Judas Priest. Check out CMFT by Corey Taylor. Lot of cameos, like Baby metal.
Tbis is an absolutely live performance. As far as the audience goes, japanese audiences ARE group oriented just as their socieety is as a whole. This video was from about 10 uears ago when the lead singer was 17 and the other 2 were 15 though they all had been trained for this for childhood.
I think you'd enjoy Papaya as the next Babymetal reaction. It's got rap in it too and is BADASS. Edit - Also, that's a Japanese audience, so it may look like it's orchestrated but that's how Japanese audiences rock.
The shows in Japan are wild! Yes, that is what a live concert actually looks like, and if you want to see something even wilder, catch the 'Road to Redemption' show - with mosh pit! If you ever get to Japan, and have a chance to go to about any 'idol' concert, you'll see they're like a giant fan club, that sync up like they're choreographed.
Welcome to the foxhole! You definitely need to react to more of their stuff! They’re amazing! The vocalist is Su Metal and the other two dancing around Su are Moa Metal and Yui Metal. Yui Metal sadly left the band in 2018 and eventually a new member by the name of Momo Metal joined in 2023. They’ve been around since 2010 so they have a lots of years in the industry. They’re are the founders of the genre known as Kawaii Metal or cute metal, which is the blend of heavy metal and the vocal sounds of JPop. They have a huge dedicated fanbase like me known as The One which stem from many different parts of the world, but their biggest supporters are back home in Japan. And to answer the question about the audience being staged, it’s not. The fanbase at the Japanese shows are just like that. Plus all their shows are always sold out because that’s how amazing and popular they really are. If you don’t believe me then you should definitely check out more of their live performances. I would suggest checking out ForTheFoxGod channel on RUclips he has very hd quality videos of their performances. But I would definitely suggest Road of Reistance next along with Megitsune and headbanger. And if you want to check out their recent stuff I would suggest monochrome live at pia arena 2023 which is on their official yt. Along with Metali ft Tom Morello from RATM. And kingslayer with bring me the horizon. And if you want some hip hop vibes check out BxMxC and PaPaYa. Looking forward to see you react to more of their stuff! Anyways keep up the good job! I really enjoy your videos! Really good stuff! Anyways enjoy and again welcome to the foxhole! Kitsunes up! 🤘🏽🦊🤘🏽
I’m sure they do do some cardio but when this was shot they were I believe 14x2 and 16. They still had TONS of youthful energy. You regret your “I got your chocolate” comment yet? LOL
You are wrong on the choreographed audience. Their fans are crazy... watch other videos, you will see. Nevermind, I don`t think Gimme Chocolate is a good first hit to Babymetal... Go with Headbanger, Papaya, Monochrome @PIA or Kingslayer with Beyond the horizon. Those are showing their real potential.
Decided I'm gonna rewatch this video everyday until another babymetal reaction comes out😂❤ because I just can't stand not having black pegasus and babymetal together in a day😊❤
Can we start to go fund me for black pegasus so we can get him to a babymetal concert😂 I think that would be fantastic to see as a reaction live concert footage with black pegasus❤
I am forever watching your videos, your interviews and your reactions. I was recently over the pandemic introduced to babymetal and after seeing your reaction I too was left skeptical, but I followed it down the rabbithole and saw the crowds they pulled in saw the fanbase they had and listened to many More songs becoming evermore infected by their sounds and siren song. I prepared a list you might enjoy reacting too and hope others agree so I can see your real reaction by the end. Thank you for your time. You NEEEEED to react to more love performances of babymetal, the crowd is in no way choreographed, they just respect babymetal so much🤘🤘 their live performances are always better than the studio versions, welcome to the fox hole guys 🦊🤘
This is recorded at a live concert in 2013 - the crowd isn't choreographed intentionally, but Japanese shows derived from the "idol culture" can appear that way even though it is spontaneous, as fans literally memorize both songs and the idol's choreography! It is worth noting that the trio were 15 and 16 at the time - and all had already been performing professionally for a minimum of 3 years. That phrase you were searching for - it's "Nibble, nibble, nibble!"
You should react to more of their music, they have a great library of songs out there. With that out of the way, you should also just check out more Japanes music. We've been kinda ignoring JP's music industry for so long but they've had some AMAZING artist that should have been bigger globally than they are/were
The music is from the studio version on top of the pictures of a live concert. The crowd is real, not coreographed but completely controlled by these 3 little girls. The leadsinger is a stage general and whenever her 2 supporters push up the crowd thousands of fans loose it.
Best part is that the lyrics are literally teenaged girls talking about how they want and enjoy chocolate. That's it. At the time of the video they were (I believe) between 13-16.
So you've done Babymetal Gimme Chocolate. That's most people's first sample. Andiroo was talking crowd. Want to blow your mind? Watch Babymetal Road of Resistance Live. Upvote for Road of Resistance! That song sounds like DragonForce wrote an Anime soundtrack!
YESSSSSSS Her crowd control is amazing in that the pit and the drum solo omg! 🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊
The girls were 16/15/15. Legendary crowd control and epic performance!!
Headbanger is the one you wan to watch. The one titled "BABYMETAL - Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse"
Great first reaction ... and yes this was a live concert, the crowd are not choreographed (although their crowds do know what to do when in most of their songs since BABYMETAL want them to be part of the performance) - but they do follow the lead the girls give them (this was the song's debut, the crowd had never heard it before).

'Gimme Chocolate' is one of their fun songs, this is the video that got them noticed before they started touring the world in 2014 ... it is not one of their deepest or best songs (by a long way), but it is often the first thing people hear from them. What they said😊
Babymetal is 'surprisingly' good... it's WAY better than it should be.
Agreed. Gimme Chocolate is just a fun song but some of their other work is also incredible. Props to the band too. The band is fantastic.
Best way to describe. Everything about it tells you "I shouldn't like this. This should be too cheesy, to much fluff....." and can't help it, love it every time.

As well as the Bringe Me The Horizon x Babymetal "Kingslayer" Live version.
As far as the audience goes, Japanese idol groups "train" their audiences, there's something of an expectation of what to do during each song, and thats just part of how the fan/group interactions are
Got us westerners trained as well . Do as Su tells you 😂🤘🏼🦊
This is the studio version of the song overlaying their live performance.
The legit live performance you need to see is "Road of Resistance" - and keep in mind that that performance was over an hour into a show where they are basically doing this high energy choreography - and it's just...wow.

The girls are killin it on a song about chocolate. For real check out their song about fruit salad called Papaya.
To be fair, it's not only about chocolate. The Japanese lyrics translate to: "Can I have a bit of chocolate / But my weight worries me a bit these days". Same thing with Papaya, they're contrasting the sweet and spicy mix of papaya-pok-pok with the struggles of adult life: "Life is like a Chocolate Box Box / Mix and mash up like Papaya-Pok-Pok / Knock, knock, knock, struggling / Pound our lives with some happiness and sadness."

I saw them in Japan when they first started. They were were called BabyMetal because the lead singer (Su) was only 12 and the other two were only 11.
It’s also a play on the Japanese pronunciation of Heavy Metal alongside the age thing
Who is the white shirt guy? I am obsessed to find out.
Koba has said multiple times that the name had nothing to do with their ages. He was intent on creating a new genre, and the name was a reference to it being a "baby" genre of music, a newborn genre. This concert was the day after Su-metal's 16th birthday. Yui and Moa were 14½.
Electric Callboy and Babymetal will tour together this year
No es un tour solo que electric callboy está invitado al Fox Fest organizado por Babymetal que se celebra en Japón
Please please please listen to " Road to resistance " - Baby Metal.
Tell me you aren't a slight fan after that
I think you'd enjoy Papaya as the next Babymetal reaction. It's got rap in it too and is BADASS.
Edit - Also, that's a Japanese audience, so it may look like it's orchestrated but that's how Japanese audiences rock.
If you ever get the chance to see Babymetal live, you need to. They are phenomenal live.
No we're just a crazy crowd and we know the choreography❤
We want more Babymetal 🤘🏻🦊
Hot topic ‼️🪀😊
Y'all need to do a babymetal deep dive! They are even better live!
6:58 THATS WHAT I THOUGHT ALSO WHEN I FIRST LISTEN TO IT TOO IN 2014 ✌️😁😁✌️
LOVE BABYMETAL 🤘😁🤘❤️
Why do you like it? Because those girls are phenomenally talented and put in a huge amount of work for their shows.
LOL
The looks, LOL! "This is so hard"!! Oh yes, good call! Great reaction and well worth taking a listen to some more songs. Babymetal is straight FIRE!
One of the best live bands this Gen Xr has EVER seen. The HU opened for them. Was an epic night for sure
Saw them live. Before Muse. The crowd is real, trust me. 😅
They rule live!
Your daughter can respect these lyrics 😊
I have read that they sometimes train singing while running on a treadmill...
MORE BABYMETAL!!!!!!!!!
Perfect song to start your reaction with babymetal❤
Definitely have to do Babymetal - Rondo of Nightmare. Always recommend the live versions, the energy is of the charts.
All live... you won't believe it. This is LIVE. They're legit and the Japanese crowd is incredible.
I was recently over the pandemic introduced to babymetal and after seeing your reaction I too was left skeptical, but I followed it down the rabbithole and saw the crowds they pulled in saw the fanbase they had and listened to many
More songs becoming evermore infected by their sounds and siren song.

That phrase you were searching for - it's "Nibble, nibble, nibble!"
absolutely amazing please more Babymetal 💜💜🥺🥺
I knew he's gonna hear it lol!
If you liked that song you are in for a surprise.
I'm not a big fan of Baby Metal, but I cannot deny that these girls give it their all. They deserve all the fame and success they get.
yall most definitely got to check out some more babymetal
You should react to more of their music, they have a great library of songs out there. With that out of the way, you should also just check out more Japanes music. We've been kinda ignoring JP's music industry for so long but they've had some AMAZING artist that should have been bigger globally than they are/were
Headbanger is a awesome Track as well
We need more Babymetal reactions, especially live versions lol
❤❤❤
The music is from the studio version on top of the pictures of a live concert. The crowd is real, not coreographed but completely controlled by these 3 little girls. The leadsinger is a stage general and whenever her 2 supporters push up the crowd thousands of fans loose it.
Please don’t stop and I promise you’ll be a huge fan!
Best part is that the lyrics are literally teenaged girls talking about how they want and enjoy chocolate. That's it. At the time of the video they were (I believe) between 13-16.
Saw them live in concert back in fall of 2019. Was a banger show
The band actually do some really good music
Please do more, especially live! The crowd is not fake, they will shock you :)
the band has a whole mythology behind the music. and the Japanese work ethic is brutal.
