Again I have to throw alot of respect to Rob Zombie for how he defended them against a bunch of old, grumpy metalheads trying to talk down these girls. They and the band playing the music are all the real deal.
@@jackoblllllllll They are old enough to drink sake everywhere except the US (and any other countries where you have to be 21). Well Suzuka could even drink in the US but Moa isn't allowed to until the 4th of July next year, Yui isn't part of Babymetal anymore but for completeness sake she'd also have to wait until next year.
Agreed. My journey down the Foxhole occurred in April,2019. This group has been rocking their fans since like 2012. And here we are barely watching their videos from Years ago, and their music Still has an influence upon us newbies.
Kind of sad that it ended though. One of the guitar players died a while back and I heard there were some issues with one of the singers like she left or something.
@@AgentRedShirt yes. Mikio Fujioka was injured after falling from an astronomical observation platform.. and the former member Yui Mizuno, in October 2018, she left Babymetal due to an undisclosed illness, and will be possibly returning to the stage as a solo artist.
Ok so, confession: Besides loving Nightwish I also absolutely adore Babymetal, the first time I listened to Babymetal I was sold, I used to be a massive weeb and I've always been a metal fan so it literally was perfection to me, I joked and said 'I'll go to their liveshow if they ever come to Europe" and I travelled to Germany to see them live for the first time, I legit had the most fun ever at that concert. Not just them being utterly adorable & talented, but also THEIR BAND, THEIR GODDAMN BAND DUDE, kami band is AMAZING, their riffs and THAT DRUMMER....... My ears were literally in heaven and the entire crowd was either moshing away or dancing along w/ the girls while wearing weird ass suits, I will see them live again ON MY BIRTHDAY (hopefully) and the weekend after my bday next year at Graspop festival and I already can't fucking wait! :D
I saw them a while back here in the United States and they are one of the best and most energetic shows I've ever experienced. From seeing Dio, metallica and slayer in the 80's Babymetal they are every bit as amazing as the aforementioned american icons.
Agreed Denise. My two favorite bands right now. I can't wait to see his reaction to Road of Resistance and Headbanger. They were just in Philadelphia and I missed them :(. And as others have said, thank you for your translations of the Beste Zangers series. I did get to see them before they were pulled off. They were amazing.
First Reaction "WTF" Second Reaction "Not Bad, I Like It" Three Reaction "It's Amazing" I Get It, Nice Reaction, Next... Babymetal - Road Of Resistance (Live In Japan).
Most common words spoken when seeing this video as a BM first: That's really heavy. WTF is going on?!? How old are these girls?? That crowd is huge! How many people are there? I was not ready for that. That was really good, tell me another good one to watch!
Richard Blaylock agree with everthing you said wish I wore it try Headbangerrrrrrrrrr, or Road to Risistance and you will ask the same questions over again🤘
Some facts about them: BABYMETAL are around since 2010 when the three girls were 11 and 12 years old. They originally were part of the school-themed idol-project Sakura Gakuin (Cherry Blossom Academy) but they parted from SG in 2013 to become an independent act. Back then the band mainly consisted of three girls: Suzuka Nakamoto (aka. SU-METAL, lead vocals) Yui Mizuno (aka. YUIMETAL, backing vocals and dance) and Moa Kikuchi (aka. MOAMETAL, backing vocals and dance) complemented by a bunch of stellar musicians called Kami-Band (Band of Gods) at their live performances. They already have five albums out: *BABYMETAL*, rel. 2014 (studio album) *Live at Budokan - Red Night Apocalypse*, rel. 2014 (live album) *Metal Resistance*, rel. 2016 (studio album) *Live at Wembley*, rel. 2016 (live album) *Metal Galaxy*, rel. 2019 (studio album) They also have several live recorded shows out on DVD/Blu-Ray which is a good thing because, believe it or not, they are one of the best live bands out there (which earned them many best-live-act-awards). They also never get boring because of their diversity in music styles. Regardless they always manage to stay recognizable. Unfortunately, Mikio Fujioka 8their lead guitarist) died from an accident in January 2018 and Yui Mizuno left BABYMETAL in fall 2018 because of health reasons. But despite all that, the band is going strong and achieved, as first Asian act ever, a number one notation at the billboard rock charts with their recently released album "Metal Galaxy". My recommendations for the start are: *"Ijime, Dame, Zettai"* live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 in the UK ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html *"Karate"* live at Download Festival 2016 in the UK ruclips.net/video/qXF94RGYEmw/видео.html *"Rondo of Nightmare"* live at Nippon Budokan in 2014 ruclips.net/video/QxYAcIyk2Co/видео.html *"Road of Resistance"* live at Saitama Super Arena in 2015 ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html *"Shanti Shanti Shanti"* live at Glastonbury Festival 2019 in the UK ruclips.net/video/w5AlEavdipA/видео.html
I've been listening to metal for over 30 years. Spotify just broke down my listening for 2019 and my top 11 songs were all BabyMetal... Check out Road of Resistance, Live in Japan. Should have been first, but we can make it up now.
Babymetal- Road of Resistance Live in Japan. ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html Please react to this song! More of their early stuff: Babymetal- iine! or Babymetal- Headbanger! or Babymetal - Megitsune
Also check out their performance at the APMA's with Rob Halford as they covered two Priest classics, Painkiller and Breaking the Law WITH Rob. ruclips.net/video/TD85aM0VQ3o/видео.html
Top 3 songs people usually react to in order. 1- GIVE ME CHOCOLATE 2- KARATE 3- ROAD OF RESISTANCE and the feelings are usually pretty consistent with everybody. 1- WTF 2- OK IT'S GROWING ON ME 3- OK NOW I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO IT ( atleast it was what happened to me )
Like everyone is already saying: Babymetal - Road of Resistance (Live in Japan) and Karate. If You didn't know, Marty Friedman moved to Japan pretty much as soon as he left Megadeath and made significant influence to the development of Japanese metal. Rob Halford made live performances with this ladies as well - Judas is long time regular on visiting Japan for a tour and filming their shows in Tokyo for DVD's.
These girls are Su-Metal, Moa-Metal and Yui-Metal. Yui-Metal has since left the group but the other two are still going strong. Road of Resistance live in Japan is a must-watch. And after that check out Mischiefs of Gods to watch the instrument players show their stuff.
It's maximum yin (kawaii 'cute' girls in pigtails), and maximum yang (thrash(?) metal), = fast flow chi. = high energy goodness. It's good because each do their part very well. The band is excellent and the girls work their asses off.
All you need to know is that Rob Halford of Judas Priest called BABYMETAL "The future of Metal". These girls have and have always had an incredible amount of 'street cred' among traditional heavy metal bands and routinely play at festivals to huge enthusiastic crowds, either solo or in line-ups with the top metal bands today.
Yes! Babymetal is so incredible. For one of their best performances, you should check out Road of Resistance, Live in Japan. Absolute brain melting performance of high energy.
Gimmie Chocolate is one of their first songs, and it shows. The metal and pop elements are a lot less integrated and the song sort of bounces between them. Once you get to songs from their second album, or live performances of first album songs where they've updated them, the metal and pop mix a lot more harmoniously. Some good reactions tracks that really show off what they can do are: Road of Resistance ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html Rondo of Nightmare ruclips.net/video/QxYAcIyk2Co/видео.html Akatsuki ruclips.net/video/g2372C5PJLM/видео.html Headbanger ruclips.net/video/I2vuKOmd1js/видео.html Megitsune ruclips.net/video/mP4w2fCw5yw/видео.html
Babymetal videos are actually how I found out about Band Maid. There is a bit of crossover between the fans. This is one of their earliest songs. They’ve since experimented with different styles over the years including their latest album Metal Galaxy that came out a couple months ago. This is a song a lot of people are confused about when listening to them for the first time. They either like it, don’t like it, or don’t know what they’ve just seen. Glad to see you’ll do more since they have some really great songs. Some good choices to react to next are Road of Resistence and Headbanger. Their live stuff is great.
If you get over the inevitable WTF, you must check out their other performances, and you'll find that their unique sound has many variations, all metal, all catchy. Must sees are Road of resistance (Live in Japan), Rondo of nightmare with mischiefs of Gods intro, Karate (MV (or live at download) , Ijime dame zetai @ Sonisphere, Megitsune (MV) or more recent Pa Pa Ya of Shanti Shanti Shanti. You've found a new rabbithole ;-)
This was in 2013 for tbe lead singer's 16th birthday. The other 2 were 14 or 15. They created this style of genre. You aint seen nothing yet. It is a show. But typical reaction to see this song first. Next should be video for megitsune before you see some later stuff. Them live is where they shine.
I love watching peoples 1st time of reacting to Babymetal, the WTF look on thier faces as their brains tries to work out what they are watching. Any way, the next is a must for any metal head "Road of Resistance".
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🍫 💝️ The BABYMETAL members are very aware that "WTF?" is a common first reaction. That's one reason some of their early videos went viral. They look at this as a way of getting their foot in the door. They have other songs with more meaningful lyrics. This was just designed to be as catchy as possible. 'Gimme Chocolate!!' is their most popular music video (well over 100 million views). It's also the only song they've performed on US television (The Colbert Show). They have been joined on stage for this song by members of Korn, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and DragonForce. Not all at the same time though. : ) Let me recommended 'Karate': ruclips.net/video/GvD3CHA48pA/видео.html and 'Road of Resistance': ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html The 'Karate' video has great production values, and 'Road of Resistance' shows how they can command a huge crowd.
Let's do more Babymetal indeed :) I think, that you would especially enjoy Rondo of Nightmare (with the Mischief of Gods intro), Headbanger (the live version from Makuhari Messe) and Karate! And when you think, that you are ready, please watch their song called Babymetal Death - you are in for a show :)
How AWESOME is that!! So glad you liked this song because it has the most WTF reaction. You're gonna be blown away by their diversity. Everything is so wonderfully different. Van Halen, Boston, AC/DC, Heart, Pat Benatar, ect. & now Band-Maid & Babymetal on my list of favorite bands of all time. I live in Wisconsin & in September I flew to NYC to see both of Band-Maid's sold out shows, then drove to St Paul to see Babymetal in a 1200 capacity club & in October flew to LA for Babymetal's first ever USA arena show. All four worth every penny. Also caught Jinjer in October. Keep them all coming Mr. Rock n Roll. Great job as always.
i didn't expect that you'd like GC! at a first view :D but i adore the reaction! thank you so much for covering my favorite band ;D I've recommended Road of Resistance underneath your Dragonforce reactions, cause it's a collaboration between BABYMETAL and Dragonforce's Herman Li and Sam Totman (at least in studio, but you can tell at the first few notes)! Herman Li was also the person that sneakily got BM to play at Download back in the days(2015 i believe?) even tho the Download manager stated he'd never invite them. counting the Dragonforce collab on stage, they are now playing the 4th time at the festival next year! ;D Road of Resistance live in Japan: ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html cheers!
when i first got into babymetal i immediately ran to find reactions bc i couldn’t handle having my mind blown by myself 😭 we started listening to them around the same time and then last fall we both got to see them live for the first time! its almost like i discovered this band with a friend. thanks mr. rock n roll! ❤
Great first BABYMETAL reaction. 'Gimme Chocolate' as a first time seeing them can go either way, some people just hate it immediately and miss out on all the really good stuff, all very sad but it is their own loss. Happily you saw this was something new and unique (not so new now, they've been going for 9 years .... but they are still unique). BABYMETAL fuse metal (of all sorts - thrash, speed/power, black, death, prog, folk and more) with crystal clear vocals provided by Su-metal as lead singer, Yuimetal and Moametal on harmonies, leading chants, getting the crowd involved etc and non-stop, energetic choreography .... and then they'll throw other musical genres (pop, reggae, ska, rap, swing, EDM and who knows what else) into the mix to create a whole new sound all their own that nobody else can do. Every song is different, some (like 'Gimme Chocolate') are just fun and lean more towards their pop roots, others are far more 'metal' and have more meaningful lyrics and they do everything in between as well. The official videos are good but BABYMETAL are a live performance act, it is where they shine and they won awards for best live act a couple of years running for very good reason - they have won many other awards too. Su-metal will be 22 later this month, Moametal is 20. Sadly Yuimetal left the band over a year ago following a 12 month absence for undisclosed health reasons - as I said before, they've been together over 9 years now, you can do the maths to see how young they were when they started. 'Road of Resistance' (live in Japan) has been suggested for your next reaction. 'Headbanger' (live at Legend 1997), 'Megitsune' (live at Budokan Black Night), 'Ijime' Dame Zettai' (live at Sonisphere 2014), 'Rondo of Nightmare' with the Mischiefs of the Metal Gods intro, 'Akatsuki', 'PA PA YA' ... just a few more suggestions, but pretty much anything will be good for a reaction. There are no fillers, every song they've done is somebody's favourite - ask 10 BABYMETAL fans for their best song and you will get 20 different answers.
I'm a big fan of BABYMETAL, but I hate Gimme Chocolate and most of the stuff on their first album. I'd say the official Karate video is the best thing to show someone for the first time.
holy shit , man !! your first reaction to BABYMETAL is Gimme chocolate!! and you like it already ? if that the case , i can guarantee you that your journey to Babymetal Universe will be much fun.
The one BabyMetal video you absolutely must watch is Road of Resistance. You will experience the power of BabyMetal that is so awesome that fans repeatedly comment, "No, it is not a cult." And yet BabyMetal is something more than just a great group. BabyMetal is a state of mind, an unstoppable movement, and a force for good.
Road of Resistance, Live in Japan next! (And don't worry, the states you gone through this video are totally normal!) :D Welcome to the Babymetal Fanclub
A small selection I'd say would be good? Rondo of Nightmare (Mischiefs of God) Live at Budokan Black, Headbanger live at Budokan Black, Road of Resistance, Live in Japan, PA PA YA! And the one with Rob Halford would be good too!
Great reaction!. The next song should be Road of Resistance Live in Japan, it has an epic wall of death, awesome audience sing along, killer drums, killer solo what more could you ask for. Then Legend of 1997 Head Banger. Then Karate the official video which is their work of art These girls have sung Breaking the Law with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pain Killer with Rod Halford. The only Asian group to top Billboard's Top Rock Album chart. In 2017 Vogue magazine Japan named them Women of the Year Forgot to mention that Road of Resistance was co-written by Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce
This was a great reaction ! Immediately subbed so as not to miss your next BABYMETAL reactions because this is only the tip of the iceberg ! It's far from being the best song to react to from a metalhead perspective but you still nailed it and cut down my anguish in no time with your unadultered enjoyment of this ! You totally get it. With BABYMETAL it's simple : first you're like confused and WTF is this ?? Then you give them a second and a third try. By that time, you'll be damning yourself for not having listening to them long ago ! This band is going to be 10 years old already in 2020 (It was born in October 2010 when these adorable girls were 11, 11 & 12 years old. The lead singer is about 1.5 years older than the other two. If you want an easy mnemotechnique to memorize their ages on any given video, just remember Su was born in December 97 and the other two in June & July 99. The leadsinger Suzuka "Su-Metal" Nakamoto is turning 22 in a week ;). There's a LOT of history and background informations on this band but for now I will let it rest because it's a lot to process and there will be other video reactions for us to drop you some knowledge ! I'm definetly recommending one of these, preferably asap because I need my BABYMETAL fix nowadays : BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance Live in Japan BABYMETAL - Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God Intro Remember that BABYMETAL LIVE is always the best ! They've won multiple awards for Best Live Act over the years and that is totally deserved. Just avoid the recent Glastonburry 2019 footage because the BBC screwed up the sound mix (and well, it was a pop festival - their very first) Cheers and welcome to our family ! ;)
Your reactions are what got me started on Babymetal, and now that I've listened to pretty much their whole catalogue, bought the Legend Metal Galaxy concert bluray and watched that, I figured I'd come back to where it all started and leave a comment to say thanks, man. You introduced me to what is now one of my favourite bands.
You *have* to search for Rondo of Nightmare - It starts with their real backing band putting on an amazing show of their own. Insane shredding by the whole lot. Loved this reaction, BTW.
Hi Mr. Rock N Roll! Thanks for checking out my favorite band BABYMETAL! "Gimme Chocolate" is their straight up WTF song that went viral due to so many people sharing it around shocking people. It's one of their more poppy songs and actually not one I'd recommend for a first time listener as it tends to turn people off of the band, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! BABYMETAL focuses on their live shows and considers themselves more performing artists than recording artists, and as such I'd always recommend watching live performances for your reactions. They are one of the few bands these days that are better live! The skeleton instrument players in the background are affectionately called "Babybones" by the fans and are just miming, but since this time they've been backed by the Kami Band, who are absolute metal masters. If you want to continue down the fox hole, I'll recommend some videos: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" Live at Sonisphere UK 2014 - ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html - Title translates to "Bullying, No good, Absolutely". The last song of their first big set in the west. They booked a small side stage but the organizers bumped them to the main stage due to the buzz they were generating. The girls were scared how the notoriously rowdy UK metal heads would react to them. "Rondo of Nightmare" with the Mischiefs of the Metal Gods Intro - Budokan Black Night 2014 - ruclips.net/video/QxYAcIyk2Co/видео.html - This is a Su-Metal (lead singer) solo, but this really shows off the Kami Band. "Road of Resistance" Live in Japan - ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html - This is how BABYMETAL ends an arena show. BABYMETAL is metal that makes you smile. There's nothing in the world like them. I caught them on the US tour they just wrapped up and they were absolutely amazing. They just released a new album in October, "Metal Galaxy", and they were the first Asian group to debut at #1 on Billboards Top Rock Albums chart. Be careful with reacting to the newer stuff, their management company Amuse can be really heavy handed with the copyright strikes.
BABYMETAL are (sort of) Alt-Idol, other groups include : PASSCODE with Trace, Broken By The Scream (imagine babymetal get locked in a studio with Jinjer) KI RA I [live in Tokyo], Not Secured Loose Ends - Loud Asymmetry... welcome to the awesome world of Japanese women with metal bands
Greatest WTF video ever made!! Su-Metal, Moa-Metal and Yui-Metal have been performing since they are 6 yo. Their International break through was at the 2014 Sonisphere in England. Those metal-heads never knew what hit them. The audience (primarily men) were there expecting to see hairy men screaming at them with bands of varying ability. Then a very technically skilled band starts playing with 3 cute/pretty girls who begin to sing and dance. AND they are beyond GOOD. That audience never had a snowballs chance in hell, they were calling for more at the end of the set. My favorite early MV of theirs is "Megitsune", but it comes with a test question, when does Su say "Maidens are not to be underestimated". If you pay attention it's easy. Welcome to the Foxhole!! May the Fox God be with you.
Another awesome reaction man! Some quick suggestions. Gotta watch Rondo of nightmare with the mischief of the gods intro. Road to Resistance Live in japan version Karate BABYMETAL - Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse.
Haha, that was fun! I take it you enjoyed it then? :-) Great to see your face go from WTF to full on smile a few seconds into the chorus. „I have never heard anything like this“ is one of the greatest compliments I can think of in music, particularly in Metal. If the fusion with Pop doesn‘t throw you off, and it looked like it doesn‘t, you are in for heaps of fun with this band. Metal doesn‘t get more fun than BABYMETAL! I predict you’ll have this song in your head for two full days and then be back for more. If you watch a real live performance next and experience their full potential, I‘m sure you‘ll be stoked. I second the suggestion of „Road of Resistance - live in Japan“ already given. It‘s less confusing than this one, but pretty much a perfect performance. ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html
Awwwww, he's only beginning the Babymetal adventure. We'll talk more after u do the next, maybe 10 reactions to them :) You know you will. Best way to describe Babymetal is like u said it: something not seen before. Long time metal heads of all ages love this band, rock gods like Slipknot, Judas Priests, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Kiss, Queen, Marilyn Manson and hundreds more artists love and support the band. The girls put an incredible amount of energy and effort on the stage, Kami band (the instrumental part) is made of top tier performers from Japan and the crowds love them. Despite their age (the project started when the girls were 11-11-13 years old) they really know how to get a crowd going. At this show the girls were 13-13-15, the singer being the "oldest". Like many of us you'll fall inlove with their songs, the atmosphere, the energy, the modesty of the girls, Moa's smile, Yui's cuteness and Suzuka's voice. How do u tell the girls apart ?! Well, Suzuka is the singer so that's pretty obvious, Moa is ALWAYS smiling and Yui is just melting you with cute. If you thought the Nightwish fan base is huge, wait till you see the Babymetal army. BABYMETAL - CATCH ME IF YOU CAN - Live (Makuhari Messe) HD
Quick correction - Su was not quite 13 for their first performance towards the end of 2010. The performance in this video was held on the day after Suzuka's 16th (held 21st December 2013), at the Legend 1997 show to celebrate her 16th birthday. Yui and Moa were around 14.5 at that time.
I started listening to BabyMetal before l’d heard of BAND-MAID. They are not really comparable. Although, I love them both. This is from a very early concert. The lead singer, Su Metal, turned 16 the day before. Her wing girls, Yui and Moa were only 14. That they were so young, yet in such command of the 9500ish crowd is something that carries through to this day. I saw BabyMetal last October in Seattle. It was an awesome show. So, seeing as you’re starting close to the beginning, stick with this concert. This is the Legend of 1997. The five song encore will have you bouncing around the room. It’s a great place to start.
Not every one gets Babymetal, but their music it's actually pretty awesome, the band playing it's just incredible, and most of the songs are super catchy. Check out "Road of resistance (Live in Japan)", "Headbanger (LIVE AT BUDOKAN)", "Shanti Shanti Shanti".
My first reaction was "I don't know how I should feel about this". But after watching their first video I spent a few hours binging their other videos. I was hooked. Yes, more Baby Metal. Especially the live stuff.
It gets SOOO much better! BABYMETAL - ROAD OF RESISTANCE, Live in Japan. Oh, and btw, I am a 55 year old metal musician and this is my favorite band ever.
Great first reaction - that look you had when the girls start singing is priceless, but then it dawns on you that the music is really metal. This was a concert called "1997" from 2014 in Japan to a sold out crowd of 20K fans. The girls are: lead singer Su-metal (just turned 16 - she was born in Dec. 1997 and the show was for her 16 birthday) and the other two girls are Moameal and Yuimeal (has left due to health issues in 2018) both 14. Their music is a mixture of metal (many types of metal) and kawaii (means cute in Japanese) pop. No two songs are the same and the music is designed to be a show/performance live. Think of them as a long running Broadway show where it's best viewed live. Most of their live shows have a live backing band called the Kami" (god) or in very early shows a stage band miming playing (they wear a bones costume). Most will recommend that the next song should be "Road of Resistance" at this same show "1997" - ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html Then "Rondo Of Nightmare (With Mischiefs of God Intro)" - ruclips.net/video/QxYAcIyk2Co/видео.html
@glen kelley That's mostly good info. 'Legend 1997' (full title: LEGEND "1997" SU-METAL Seitansai) was in 2013, not 2014. The event venue was Makuhari Messe Event Hall, which holds around 9,000 people. Likewise 'Road of Resistance' was not performed at that concert. You're thinking of Saitama Super Arena, which does hold 20,000. BABYMETAL have performed there many times.
😂 You're face! Pretty much everyone looks like that the first time they see Babymetal. Karate and Megitsune are really great and you should check out the Kami band, the guys that back them up, they're amazing.
Welcome to Babymetal welcome to the one you're in for a wild ride No 2 songs are alike name a genre of music and they probably done a song and that style if you have questions to ask someone below will be able to answer them please check out road of resistance life in Japan or something newer PA PA YA from Babymetal maybe check out death legend 1997
Did you even notice how many views that video has? haha The music video for Karate is one of my faves. But yeah, Road of Resistance live in Japan is EPIC!!! Seeing them live is tops on my bucket list, even without YuiMetal *sigh* Kitsune up!
I'd recommend trying "Iine" next before the others songs people are suggesting, your gonna have a blast for sure. It's super fun and makes you feel the hype for the other unknown songs waiting for you.
YES!!!! I was wondering when you were gonna do BABYMETAL. Same first impression I had when I heard their music for the first time. Check out Megitsune, that's my favorite Babymetal song.
"This ain't heavy metal; welcome to the world of Babymetal" - Su-metal Babymetal is all about dualities in music and appearance, light&dark, pop&metal, adorable&punch you in the face. They are fun and original. Check out Road of Resistance, Live in Japan to get a better idea.
I loved it when you paused over Yui's face where you thought she said I got you. This is her soul stealing face, so don't look in her eyes or she will trap your soul forever :) She is famous for stealing souls, and Moa is notorious for stealing hearts. Su is just the Goddess. 🦊💕⚡ 💀🍫
I found your channel when I was searching for sabaton reactions a few months ago and I really enjoyed what I saw. Now I’m even more excited because now you’re reacting to babymetal, another of my favorite bands. Awesome!
He had the exact same reaction as me, I’ve never really listened to rock because I’ve always thought of it as screaming etc but after listening to BABYMETAL it has changed my idea and image of rock. #babymetal 🖤
I myself found Babymetal a few months ago and now I’m a huge fan, my favourite songs are PA PA YA, karate and gimme chocolate. It was really fun to see your reaction to this song!
In October I saw them live and there was a lot more moshing than I expected... I loved every minute, enjoy the tumble down this rabbit hole... or... fox hole... keep watching you’ll understand
THIS is why Gimme Chocolate always has to be the first song everyone reacts to. I mean Rondo of Nightmare is a fine song but it won't get amazing reactions like this one.
I absolutely love watching metal lovers listen to Babymetal for the first time...and witness how they try to wrap their heads around what they just heard! lol It brings me back to when I first discovered them in late 2014 while I was reading travel blogs before my first trip to Japan. Man, I had to watch this video several times straight just to figure out what I just saw! To this day, I love these adorable (now) young women and their band!
This the stuff my brother likes, he’s even seen them live. Welcome to Kawaii Metal. You should’ve seen when they shared a stage with Rob Halford. Was kinda surreal.
Finally you got to BABYMETAL. Watched a dozen or so of your vids and loved them - this one got me to subscribe. Gimme Choco is kinda popish and is the usual intro for people cuz they did it on The Colbert Show - it is not truly representative of their varied styles. Usually people see one and go "What did I just see?" see the second and "Think this is kinda good". See the 3rd and you're "Down the Fox Hole". Road of Resistance is a good next one or BABYMETAL DEATH Legend 1997 (Complete). The albums and official MV's are great but the live performances are where they shine because half of the concept is the performance/choreo. The choreo is arranged by a top choreographer in Japan MIKIKO who arranges a big pop group Perfume amongst others and she arranged the presentation at the last Olympic games as leading to the 2020 games in Japan. I have seen them twice in Seattle and I will never forget those experiences. Please do more.
Most people will tell you to jump right to Road of Resistance, but I'd recommend getting a few more in first. I would go next with Karate, official video. They're probably the greatest live band going, but the official video for Karate will really pull you in deeper. The lead singer, Su-metal, really showcases her amazing vocals. That said, when you do Road of Resistance, make sure its Live in Japan (Official). And I'm probably your Dad's age 😄

The entire world: "Three cute little asian girls can't be metal"
Babymetal: "....hold my sake...."
Again I have to throw alot of respect to Rob Zombie for how he defended them against a bunch of old, grumpy metalheads trying to talk down these girls. They and the band playing the music are all the real deal.
hold my chocolato
Im not sure if they are old enough to drink sake.

Careful. The Babymetal foxhole is insanely deep and twisty.
Agreed. My journey down the Foxhole occurred in April,2019. This group has been rocking their fans since like 2012. And here we are barely watching their videos from Years ago, and their music Still has an influence upon us newbies.
Foxhole...I see what you did there. :P

So true
Dude, your face was so classic when the first vocals started. 😂
The shock slowly turned into realization then into acceptance. We were all seeing Mr. RnR's mind slowly being blown with a nuclear bomb. 👍

The deep state of confusion and amazement was great. I love it
Ok so, confession: Besides loving Nightwish I also absolutely adore Babymetal, the first time I listened to Babymetal I was sold, I used to be a massive weeb and I've always been a metal fan so it literally was perfection to me, I joked and said 'I'll go to their liveshow if they ever come to Europe" and I travelled to Germany to see them live for the first time, I legit had the most fun ever at that concert. :D
BTW!!!!!!! check out BABYMETAL - CATCH ME IF YOU CAN (Live Makuhari Messe) to get a good impression of babymetal crowds!!! :D
Hey Denise thanks again for your awesome work translating Zangers! Sucks that they burned you but we still appreciate it!
Nice!!!!!

That crowd is huge! How many people are there?

My first reaction was *confused headbanging*
I just found out today that Su is 22 years old I am shocked
PAPAYA 100%
They already have five albums out:
*BABYMETAL*, rel. 2014 (studio album)
*Live at Budokan - Red Night Apocalypse*, rel. 2014 (live album)
*Metal Resistance*, rel. 2016 (studio album)
*Live at Wembley*, rel. 2016 (live album)
*Metal Galaxy*, rel. 2019 (studio album)
They also have several live recorded shows out on DVD/Blu-Ray which is a good thing because, believe it or not, they are one of the best live bands out there (which earned them many best-live-act-awards).

You don't over-think Babymetal - just go along with it. Resistance is futile! 🤘🔥🦊
Babymetal - Karate. 🦊
@Steven Basarowich Only Su gets a hyphen in her name though.
That indicates the "u" is a long vowel.
@@rickwagner- Ah. Good to know
It's maximum yin (kawaii 'cute' girls in pigtails), and maximum yang (thrash(?) metal), = fast flow chi. = high energy goodness. It's good because each do their part very well. The band is excellent and the girls work their asses off.
I've known Babymetal for about 5 years now, and I've never come across anything similar 😂
Qrowe tales of destinies
Gimmie Chocolate is one of their first songs, and it shows. The metal and pop elements are a lot less integrated and the song sort of bounces between them. Once you get to songs from their second album, or live performances of first album songs where they've updated them, the metal and pop mix a lot more harmoniously.
Some good reactions tracks that really show off what they can do are:

Babymetal videos are actually how I found out about Band Maid. There is a bit of crossover between the fans. This is one of their earliest songs. They’ve since experimented with different styles over the years including their latest album Metal Galaxy that came out a couple months ago. This is a song a lot of people are confused about when listening to them for the first time. They either like it, don’t like it, or don’t know what they’ve just seen. Glad to see you’ll do more since they have some really great songs. Some good choices to react to next are Road of Resistence and Headbanger. Their live stuff is great.
I would love to see a collaboration between them. Love Kami Band, but seeing a Band-MaidxBabyMetal show would just be...ugh! >.
I love Babymetal! If you want to react to them more I recommend:
iine (いいね)
KARATE
THE ONE
Especially with the Dragon Force influence. IMO, "Headbangeeeer!!" is another must.
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🍫 💝️
The BABYMETAL members are very aware that "WTF?" is a common first reaction.
Let me recommended 'Karate': ruclips.net/video/GvD3CHA48pA/видео.html
and 'Road of Resistance': ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html
The 'Karate' video has great production values, and 'Road of Resistance' shows how they can command a huge crowd.
Let's do more Babymetal indeed :)
I think, that you would especially enjoy Rondo of Nightmare (with the Mischief of Gods intro), Headbanger (the live version from Makuhari Messe) and Karate!
Great job as always.
i didn't expect that you'd like GC! at a first view :D but i adore the reaction! thank you so much for covering my favorite band ;D
I've recommended Road of Resistance underneath your Dragonforce reactions, cause it's a collaboration between BABYMETAL and Dragonforce's Herman Li and Sam Totman (at least in studio, but you can tell at the first few notes)!
Herman Li was also the person that sneakily got BM to play at Download back in the days(2015 i believe?) even tho the Download manager stated he'd never invite them.
counting the Dragonforce collab on stage, they are now playing the 4th time at the festival next year! ;D

cheers!
That combo of metal and super happy pop is just... Joyous! I'd recommend listening to "Karate" I get literal tears of joy welling up from that song!
Babymetal are a great band, music is so well written
when i first got into babymetal i immediately ran to find reactions bc i couldn’t handle having my mind blown by myself 😭 we started listening to them around the same time and then last fall we both got to see them live for the first time! its almost like i discovered this band with a friend. thanks mr. rock n roll! ❤
YOU DID MY FRIEND🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Grington300 300 Japanese Ska-Metal. Yava!!!
sana9489 absolutely right!
Tied with Megitsune as my favorite.
And Syncopation.
And headbanger.
Damn, it’s too hard to pick a favorite.
I feel like Megitsune is good to watch with the mv tho! (And Karate too)
I'm a big fan of BABYMETAL, but I hate Gimme Chocolate and most of the stuff on their first album. I'd say the official Karate video is the best thing to show someone for the first time.
yeah still miss moa-metal:')
holy shit , man !! your first reaction to BABYMETAL is Gimme chocolate!! and you like it already ? if that the case , i can guarantee you that your journey to Babymetal Universe will be much fun.

BABYMETAL - メギツネ - MEGITSUNE (OFFICIAL) or BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL)
A small selection I'd say would be good?
Rondo of Nightmare (Mischiefs of God) Live at Budokan Black,
Headbanger live at Budokan Black,
Road of Resistance, Live in Japan,
PA PA YA!
And the one with Rob Halford would be good too!
Syncopation is my favourite
your first reaction was EXACTLY like my first reaction to them, "wtf" mixed with "interesting" is a good way to describe it
Great reaction!. The next song should be Road of Resistance Live in Japan, it has an epic wall of death, awesome audience sing along, killer drums, killer solo what more could you ask for. Then Legend of 1997 Head Banger. Then Karate the official video which is their work of art
These girls have sung Breaking the Law with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pain Killer with Rod Halford.
The only Asian group to top Billboard's Top Rock Album chart.
In 2017 Vogue magazine Japan named them Women of the Year
Forgot to mention that Road of Resistance was co-written by Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce
The phases of babymetal reactions:
1.- The "WTF is this" face.
2.- The little smile.
3.- The headbang.
4.- The "I need more" face.
I'm definetly recommending one of these, preferably asap because I need my BABYMETAL fix nowadays :
BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance Live in Japan
BABYMETAL - Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God Intro
Remember that BABYMETAL LIVE is always the best ! They've won multiple awards for Best Live Act over the years and that is totally deserved. Just avoid the recent Glastonburry 2019 footage because the BBC screwed up the sound mix (and well, it was a pop festival - their very first)
Cheers and welcome to our family ! ;)
dem0n Babymetal playing live is absolute perfection. They execute their performances with a precision that is amazing.
If you want to continue down the fox hole, I'll recommend some videos:
"Ijime, Dame, Zettai" Live at Sonisphere UK 2014 - ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html - Title translates to "Bullying, No good, Absolutely".
"We need to do more Baby Metal". Ummm, yes. Yes you do! ;-)
Karate?
Both video and live Download 2016 are great.
Another awesome reaction man!
Some quick suggestions.
Gotta watch Rondo of nightmare with the mischief of the gods intro.
Road to Resistance Live in japan version
Karate
BABYMETAL - Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse.
They have to be experienced live. No other way to explain BabyMetal. Have to see them live.
Babymetal - "Road of Resistance Live in Japan" and can't wait to see your jaw on the floor
I have been following baby metal for over a year and You deserve a like for your reaction.
We'll talk more after u do the next, maybe 10 reactions to them :)
You know you will.
Most will recommend that the next song should be "Road of Resistance" at this same show "1997" - ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html
Then "Rondo Of Nightmare (With Mischiefs of God Intro)" - ruclips.net/video/QxYAcIyk2Co/видео.html
@@rickwagner- Thanks, I do get some info confused at time, brain melt
That smile that rose from first Deep shoking moments.... Priceless
React Baby Metal_Road of Resistance, Live in Japan and Karate
Road of Resistance should always be first if you're trying to create a new fan.
@@mariomariolemieux982 I think he got it, he's hooked now, chocolate is additive
@@mariomariolemieux982 not neccesarily. Gimme Chocolate was my first and I've been addicted ever since.
Enzo Mezquita The Karate MV is a work of art. Over 50 million views.
Yup, pretty crazy for sure.
Welcome to the real madness of Baby Metal!!
😂 You're face! Pretty much everyone looks like that the first time they see Babymetal. Karate and Megitsune are really great and you should check out the Kami band, the guys that back them up, they're amazing.
I suggest "karate" or "megitsune". Both was very good (has 50m+ views each)
The look on your face when they first started singing just made my day with a good laugh, Same reaction first time I heard this band lol
Exactly like my 1st reaction- Just WOW and they just make you smile. Mix of cuteness and heavy metal. Awesome coreography!
Yes, the video is back !!!
Had the exact same reaction. I love Babymetal so much!
"This ain't heavy metal; welcome to the world of Babymetal" - Su-metal
Babymetal is all about dualities in music and appearance, light&dark, pop&metal, adorable&punch you in the face. They are fun and original. Check out Road of Resistance, Live in Japan to get a better idea.
Did Su-metal ever really say that? Her English is quite good by now, but I cannot imagine her ever saying "ain't."
@@Subjectivity13 it's from the lyrics to Future Metal
My kids are into this and I got them tickets to go see them in philly, blew me away! If you can accept different and have an open mind.
Awesome!
Road of Resistance had made people cry. It's kinda their anthem.
He had the exact same reaction as me, I’ve never really listened to rock because I’ve always thought of it as screaming etc but after listening to BABYMETAL it has changed my idea and image of rock. #babymetal 🖤
please react to all of their live videos :D you wont be disappointed
If you get shocked with that song...you HAVE to listen and watch "Road to resistance" now, go for it! Love Babymetal, never seen nothing like it
どこの国の人もだいたいギミチョコほぼ一発で中毒になるよね
こんな意味不明で可愛らしくてキャッチーな曲なかなかないでしょ?w
これがみんなが言うJapaneseのcrazyでCuteなBABYMETALだよね
I myself found Babymetal a few months ago and now I’m a huge fan, my favourite songs are PA PA YA, karate and gimme chocolate. It was really fun to see your reaction to this song!
GIM-ME-A CHOC-O-LATA Yes, the YUIMETAL face attracts all.
i like how open minded you are about them, love the reaction!!!! definitely a fan of your reactions
In October I saw them live and there was a lot more moshing than I expected... I loved every minute, enjoy the tumble down this rabbit hole... or... fox hole... keep watching you’ll understand
You had the exact same reaction i did to them. Now I'm addicted to the entire Metal Resistance Album haha
