You're a man of your word, sir. Hope you enjoyed reacting to it as much as I enjoyed watching your reaction. Just another example on how music is the universal language. You had no clue what they were saying, but it didn't matter. You couldn't help but nod your head to the beat. Good luck trying to get that hook out of your head now. It's super catchy in any language!
On a side note, what you say about mental health at the end of your videos might get overlooked, but for someone going through it, it might make all the difference in the world. Good on you for that.
Had a great time golfing, and it was my pleasure meeting you. Genuinely good guy. Best of luck in all future endeavors.

@@CliffBeatsOfficial Music is the ultimate driver of our emotions and feelings, and can take us everywhere we wanna go. BabyMetal is one those rare groups many people called "happy-metal", these girls got the power to pump your mood up and literally had saved many people's life, especially during the lockdown, now i know this is a risky topic but just wanted to give another usual pov many people have over this special group and why we love them so much, you got the best of both worlds with them, the metal and the happy lyrics.
You'll probably have blocked issues when keep diving into their songs so i left in my comment a couple of suggestions, try one of these if you need it, of course there will be more suggestions in comments from all time fans, but the thing is around this time when they're releasing new material the usually safe to react versions gets blocked either way, you have some luck with this one and the heavy filters so hopefully will stay that way.🙏
Thanks again Jordan for giving this suggestions and spreading BM love.🦊🤘

They basically invented this genre combining J-Pop with heavy metal. (K-Pop is Korean, J-Pop is Japanese) First performing in 2010 when the lead singer was 12 and the other two were 11. This performance was 3-1/2 years later when Su was 16 and the others were 14. Next try "Road of Resistance, Live in Japan"

BABYMETAL - Splitting brains into halves since 2010!
    > "I apologize if it's not K-Pop..."
Well... Since they are Japanese, it would be J-Pop...
    > "How old are they?"
In the footage (from December 2013) you've seen: Suzuka Nakamoto (aka. SU-METAL, lead singer) was barely 16 and Yui Mizuno/Moa Kikuchi (aka. YUIMETAL/MOAMETAL, backing vocals and dance) were 14 years old. Now they are 24/23.
More to check out: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (note: the first Letter is a capital i, not an l) live at the Sonisphere Festival in the UK in 2014 ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html

The fact that you've heard Babymetal for the first time and you've been talking about it for so long is proof that you're already into Fox hole. I’m Japanese and I've heard good things about Babymetal, but I thought they were an "idol group" and had no interest at all. But one of their early songs called 'Doki Doki Morning' got me hooked momentarily to the present day. The first time I heard it, I almost laughed out loud and I don't know why but I also cried. Please listen to "Syncopation" as well. But all songs are great. And the three of them, "Suzuka Nakamoto", "Moa Kikuchi" and "Yui Mizuno", are different from other singers who took dance and singing lessons since they were around 4 years old. Once I get worried about Babymetal, I start looking into their past activities, and then I get hooked again. Please check out "Sakura Gakuin". Make your life more enjoyable every day.

    ⚡ 💀 💕 / 🍫 💝
The BABYMETAL members are very aware that "WTF?" is a common first reaction.
That's one reason their early videos went viral. They look at this as a way of getting a foot in the door.
'Gimme Chocolate!!' is their most popular music video (over 165 million views).
They have been joined on stage for this song by members of Korn, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and DragonForce.
Not all at the same time though. : )
That was the world debut for this song, although the music video uses the studio audio, rather than the live concert audio.
The actual live 'Legend 1997' concert (named for the lead singer's birth year) sounds great on blu-ray with the live sound.
Lead singer Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) had just turned sixteen the day before this December 2013 concert.
Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) were both fourteen.
The whole thing, on paper, doesn't seem like it should work. It just does.
Probably because they don't half-ass it.
The songwriting, the choreography, the singing, and the music are all executed at the highest level.
However, I think you might wonder if you're hearing the same group when you check out a much newer song like 'BxMxC', or the latest, 'Divine Attack - Shingeki'.

Old school Thrash Metal. Combinations of Metallica "Fight Fire With Fire" and Slayer "Raining Blood". Heaviest, Brutal song about Chocolate. React to the song on late night show with Stephen Colbert. Old school metalheads can appreciate the metal, younger audience can appreciate the J Pop.

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal Galaxy 🦊🤘
You arriving to a special time since they recently released their new single starting a new era we've never seen before, enjoy your journey a little more before reaching this, don't worry, somehow everything will make sense lol
Dance choreography and metal had never been seen before and they somehow managed to make it works creating their unique own genre called kawaii-metal, mixing Jpop (not kpop) and heavy metal along with many more sub genres and rhythms, you'll have so much fun going through this journey.
However this isn't actually live version, is studio album version over a live performance which was partially live only on the vocals and choreography with backing track sound. They have their own band called Kami Band introduced later on that same show and after that Kami Band become regular at live performance.
    (Continue...)

BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute), mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms, They are:
      - SuMetal (lead vocals).
      - MoaMetal (scream and dance)
      - YuiMetal (scream and dance, former member since 2018)
      None of them are related.
This was in December 2013 at SuMetal 16th Birthday, the other girls had 14 yo and there was a big party you have seen nothing yet, wait for "Babymetal Death".
Some recommendations for next songs like:
      - Catch Me If You Can live at Budokan 2014 (you got a safe to react version with subtitles at GuilhermeCait) or...
      - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at this same live performance Legend 1997 in Makuhari Messe Japan when SuMetal is celebrating her birthday becoming a metal goddess queen and leaving her idol jpop form (you can find one at Gans Tomas under "Head Bangya" title).
You have more than 50 songs and still more to come. Amuse their label is very hard to deal so if you want to avoid copyright blocked you have "Babymetal Reactor Resource" you'll get full original clips of their best live performance with watermarked logo safe to react, look for "Future Plans" vid, follow instructions and you'll get all of them, upload the one with the logo for us and you can watch without it, don't worry for us we already saw all of them.
That was a fun story about how you stumble across this group, really thanks to that guy who recommended you this.

I was like okay I'll bite and was taken by them.
I researched them and their background and the band had major heavy metal cred musician's and were being fronted by these girl band singers.
The question at the time to me was could this band go global?
Anyway, I turned them on to a fellow worker and Baby Metal was being played all around my work.
to this day I have a heartfelt feeling for them the same as the first time listening to; Black Sabbath, Judas Preist. AC DC. Deep Purple and more, (look up 1970 heavy metal)

I remember watching this for the first time and feeling like my brain was broken (in a good way). Two genres of music you'd never think would go together and they kill it. I think I stared at the screen for a good 10 minutes without moving afterwards just trying to figure out what I just watched.

Nice reaction. Welcome to the foxhole. Babymetal have been around for over 10 years now. Lots to talk about here. Let's take it slow. Focus on this song. A combination of Jpop and Metal musically. The lyrics start off with Yui and Moa doing what amounts to the sound kids in Japan make for guns. And they're holding their hands in gun positions. which means they're not just saying give me chocolate. They're demanding chocolate in a kid friendly Kawaii sort of way. The kawaii means cute in Japanese but it is also a whole vibe there as well. And that is a big part of Babymetal. The Baby comes from the creation of a new music style. Kawaii Metal. Like a newborn baby. They came out with a new style of metal. The lyrics then go on talking about wanting chocolate. But then they hold off eating it because they're worried about their weight. By adding choreography to metal they don't have worry about that any time soon. They burn those calories fast. Next, they eat the chocolate and become so happy about it they trumpet about it. This is reflected in the music as well as in the choreography. A simple song but one many can relate to. I've seen folks with chocolate cravings. It can get ugly. lol. Babymetal are the fun happy side of metal. Also, they don't just look young. They are young. Just kids when they started. I always suggest starting with their early material so you can grow with the band. Literally since they were 12 and 10 when they first got together. For more early stuff check out. Megitsune (their most performed song), iine (which due to font problems on youtube looks like line) a musical tour de force of how many music genres can we do in one song. For Babymetal it's a warmup. They were just getting started with the blends. It becomes signature musical style for them. For now, we have their first song Doki Doki Morning. Babymetal blends everything. Making then very entertaining. And it's not just the music but in their dancing as well. Overall, Babymetal is one of the world's most unique bands. They've done everything their own way. Enjoy the ride down the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music.

If this is your first experience with Japanese rock n metal, you are in for a BIG SURPRISE!!!
There are all guy bands, guys n girls, and the best all female bands EVER. They shred like you will not believe.
But Babymetal was my first experience close to 4.5 years ago.
Me: an old headbanger, now retired an 68 on Saturday.
I was cleaning garage. CD player died. S.D. CA radio sucks-mostly.
Daughter home from work said give me your phone got me into RUclips and she loaded a video of Babymetal. Mind blown. WOW!!!! Ran my battery down on my phone watching Babymetal videos for hours some three four five times. My musical soul had been healed. Also I found all my favorite bands led Zeppelin Judas Priest Linda Ronstadt their music was all here The videos were all here. 7th heaven I thought.
But these three young ladies led me to heaven of rock, hard rock and metal from Japan.
    Band-Maid
    Lovebites
    Aldious
    Mary's Blood
    Doll$boxx
    Show-Ya (playing since the 80's)!!!
    Bridear
    Hagane
    NEMOPHILA
    Hanabie
...all female...all play their own instruments. Mind blown repeatedly.
    Male n female members:
    Unlucky Morpheus
    Wagakki band
    But Babymetal was first.

The magical powers of heavy metal surpass genre boundaries. That's why I love it so much. It's one of the few genres that isn't necessarily specific to any culture, or region or ethnic group. The backbone of metal of course came from rock and blues both stemming from African American culture but then you also combine the virtuosity of classical music, you have bands that approach it from their own cultural perspective such as Moonsorrow- who write a very evocative style of folk metal based in Finnish folk music and mythology. Same with Norway and Sweden, they have thriving metal scenes that are very much influenced from Norse mythology and culture. And again this very example. That's why I don't get it that some old school metalheads want to gatekeep and say which genres are ok and not ok to mix with metal. But metal is inherently subversive, to confront topics that are considered taboo to engage with. But also metal is nerdy as fuck. You got all kind of bands that do concept albums about LOTR, people that dress in corpse paint and spike gauntlets and make evil theatrical music videos of them in the middle of a blizzard screeching about demons and winter and shit. Any kind of cultural theme, genre or influence you could imagine most likely has at least one metal band that contains it. Literally to the point that people just start calling things "experimental" or "avant garde" because they have so many different genre influences. Projects like this are why I continue to identify as a metalhead even tho there are some disappointingly big pockets of the community that are toxic AS FUCK. More often than not we're a very welcoming and accepting community

Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Galaxy (or the Fox Hole ... that will be explained the more you see and hear). They are Japanese, so what they do is fuse JPop (not KPop - that would make them Korean) with Metal ... but they do so much more than that.
'Gimme Chocolate' is a simple song and one of their fun ones - they just want a piece of chocolate but are a bit worried about their weight. But it is chocolate, it would be so nice and would make them happy, so can they just have a piece of chocolate please?
This was the video that went viral in 2014 and got them noticed internationally - mainly for the WTF reactions it got (a bit like you were confused, so was everybody else), but there is so much more to them than this one song.
I hope you react to more BABYMETAL songs, some are fun like this one, others are deeper and more meaningful but all of them (they have about 50 now) are different. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will also mix in many other musical styles and genres - they will surprise you every time.
Some songs are good hard metal others lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between.
The original trio were Su-metal, Yuimetal and Moametal. Su-metal is the lead vocalist (the whole idea was formed and developed around her and her vocal talents), Yuimetal and Moametal provided backing vocals and harmonies, but their main function is involving and leading the audience with the choreo, so they are a very important part of what makes BABYMETAL different and unique.
They started in 2010 as a sub-unit of the Idol group Sakura Gakuin. Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. In 2013 they separated from Sakura Gakuin to become an independent band in their own right.
Sadly Yuimetal left the band in October 2018 after a 12 month absence for undisclosed health reasons. Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo - in live shows since Yui left they have been supported by 3 dancers who would take turns to dance in the third spot - they were known as the Avengers, Riho, Kano and Momoko.
This video was filmed in December 2013 at the Legend 1997 concert - Su-metal was born in 1997, this concert was celebrating her 16th birthday (which was the day before). Yuimetal and Moametal are 18 months younger than Su and they were both 14.
As it was the official video the audio was dubbed on from the studio recording ... which is a shame as BABYMETAL are one of those rare bands who sound much better live - not least because you will get Su-metal's natural voice without all the over-processing and compression of the studio recordings - and she is an exceptional vocalist, but you also get the Kami Band, their backing band for live concerts, playing live.
Their backing band, the Kami Band, were phased in gradually from October 2012 playing festivals and encores in some shows. They became the full time backing band early in 2014.
If the musicians in a video (like they were in this video) are wearing skeleton suits that is not the Kami Band, that is the Babybones and they were miming the instruments to a backing track - they were there for show in the early days before BABYMETAL had the budget for a live band (no pretence was made otherwise, everybody knew what they were doing). The Kami Band are the ones in traditional white burial robes and white corpse face paint (more recently in black robes and now wearing masks ... nobody likes the masks).
The Kami Band are among Japan's very best session musicians and can play anything. They do swap out members now and then as they all have their own bands and projects, but they have had a hard core of about 6 or 7 who have played the vast majority of BABYMETAL's concerts.
For the 2019 and 2020 US and European tours the Kami Band of the West (American musicians from Galactic Empire on guitars and bass, Anthony Barone on drums) were introduced.
Generally if you hear growls or screams in a BABYMETAL song it will be on the backing track which includes any additional instruments (piano, synth etc and some harmonies) - everything else is always live.
Can I suggest the Legend 1997 live performance of 'Headbanger' (look on the abr metal channel for that video) for your next reaction. Same show as this, but the Kami Band are on stage for that one and the audio is all live.

Death metal fused with Kpop is a pretty accurate description. Except that the K in Kpop is Korea and they are Japanese. It's a fusion of Japanese Idol music and Metal. Japanese Idols are similar to Kpop. But better. It isn't just about music. Japanese Idols are supposed to be a good example for society. The exact opposite of American Idols.
