This was Disney.. in the early 2000s! When in the years before, they were touted as being "super child friendly"... and then they release this! It blew everyone's mind that Disney would release a PG-13 movie (this was their first PG-13 movie, as i recall) and i honestly think that fact alone drew some people in to watch it. It was a pretty big milestone at the time, and it was fun to watch in theaters.

True, it was the first of their movies officially labeled PG-13, but they have older movies labeled PG that would be PG-13 by today's standards.
