Thank you for an exceptional review! I bought the weather tech cup phone for my 2020 Tacoma and it wobbled way too much in my cup holders. I’m definitely going with the pro clip. Side note, I watch A LOT of Tacoma videos that cover a wide range of customizing. Your quality of content and spot on reviews and walk arounds are among the best I’ve seen. Keep up the good work!!
I did the weather tech one and had the same problem. After a bit of trial and error ended up with a Course mount with the Magsafe option and got a Magsafe iPhone case. I can still charge it on my wireless charger and it sticks to the Taco Course mount like magic. Never spins or slips and it is my current favorite minimalist iPhone mount. Check it out.❤
Like the set up you done on the taco. Since I got mine taco done different stuff like pop a lock, remote start and front camera. Those tires aren't cheap! Those 4runner rims look awesome.
So far the only thing I’ve done to my 3rd gen sport is add a meso customs coin holder for the slot in my center console area as well as the chrome delete kit
2017 TRD sport 4x4..so for I’ve upgraded my wheels and tires. The interior I have Meso customs ultimate dome lights. I’ve also put on a Tonneau cover on it. Hoping to do a lot more though
Red the only negative I have is that it seems to hunt for gears from time to time. I know a lot of people have had success with going to 4.88 or 5.29 gears just sucks it doesn’t come from factory like that. Other than that I love it. It’s a great truck
2018 Cement Access cab 6speed manual, Have a TRD pro grille and skidplate (was installed on the truck when I bought it), new tires on stock rims. Grabbing a transfer case skidplate and looking at a few different options for canopies to make a camping setup in the bed. Also did a few other small mods like the AC drain which I highly recommend only cost me about $3.00, and building a mount for my high lift jack in the bed
2017 Barcelona Red SR5. No lift just yet (wanna pay it off first lol), but I plan on putting 2 inches on it. Also plan on blacking out the wheels and emblems. Only bought it last March but so far, its incredible. Pretty much my dream truck, it's everything I could want from a truck
Great review i like how you showed the functionality and how to put it on! I personally don't have 1 but now that i think about it I really need 1. While I'm driving i forget that my phone is in my pocket and i need to reach for it and its better just to mount it and have it right in front of you.
Recently purchased a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-road. Currently own a 2017 Toyota 4runner and we love that, so definitely wanted to add another Yota to the stable. I haven't had a chance to do any upgrades on the Taco yet, but the 4runner has been fun to mod. Have a Rhino Rack Roof Rack, a Tepui rooftop tent, after market running boards, and blacked out badges so far. For my Taco this phone mount would be the first upgrade 😆. Great channel for the passion of Toyotas keep up the good work!
I know this video is old but the pro clip is excellent and their specific phone mounts that have the holder for a charging cable is awesome. It makes it so you can just set you phone in the holder and boom it's charging. I've had the same phone holder on two different vehicle mounts and I love it.
I have a 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD- Off Road Premium 4x4 double cab, short bed in Super White. (I'm from Ontario, Canada). I added the TRD Pro grill to it, put in a subwoofer, added a bunch of decals inside and out of the truck, I put all LEDs inside the cab for the light to be better and crisper.
I have a 2018 TRD off road 4x4 in cement grey with long bed, ARE camper shell, trd pro wheels (wrapped in Falken wildpeaks), trd pro front grille, and some minor aesthetics.
I have a 2009 Tacoma I only have tinted window and a sub but in the process of a 4” lift with rims and tire, metal front and rear bumpers, side step, an exhaust, and repainting it
Great review! I always struggle with my phone. I have a 2019 Cement Gray TRD OR 4x4. I have Method wheels on Pro Comp 285/70R17. I am about to change the door speakers this weekend. Did the AC drain mod, put a clamp on the tailgate to deter thieves, and just changed the display on my stereo. Thank you again for your videos.
Hey C.K. just crossed over from my 2015 Ford Focus ST to a 2020 Tacoma Trd Off Road. It was the reason of where I was to where i am now. I was living in Austin, Texas (traffic is Terrible), to living in a rural area in south Texas coastal area. I miss my little hatch every now and again, but I love my truck for reason of fishing etc..and potholes can kiss my butt. Watch alot of people with Taco's to see what kinds of mods look good. Thanks for the information on this product; happy trails!
2018 Trd off road, so far I added a roof rack and plan on getting my lift, tires and wheels done pretty soon! Love the videos, hopefully you get to do more mods soon and do more reviews!
I have a 2019 Tacoma Waialua edition in cement which is specific for HAWAII. It’s still stock but will be adding a lift and bigger wheel in the future.
Awesome review! also love the look on your Tacoma. My Tacoma: 2020 TRD Off-Road in Cement gray, no major mods except small cosmetic work and interior lighting. Wanting to upgrade wheels with KO2s soon to begin with more of the major mods. I have had the truck since November and honestly I just love it, best decision i've made
I have an army green 2020 TRD Pro which I love... I have done more than a couple of things; mounted a KC M Rack with 4 side flood lights and a Pro6 light bar, C4 Fab rock sliders, raptor grille lights, SPOD Bantam 2.0 with touchscreen, side mirrors black sequential signal lights, hard folding tonneau cover and a bunch of other minor mods both outside and inside the truck. I want to say I love your channel and your badass Taco! Please keep making videos they’re awesome!
I use the Magic Mount by Scosche. It attaches to your dash via 3M adhevise mount pads. Then you stick one of the varied-sized metal plates onto your phone/case and attach it to the mount. I delivered food part time for almost 3 years and never had a problem with it. I no longer have that part time job but if i’m in my truck, my phone is always mounted.
I have a 2017 tacoma trd sport with a prisnu roof rack C4 hybrid high clearance bumper and and McNeil racing 3” bulge front and back fenders going for a new wrap this summer
Another great Taco Vid 👍 Mine is a 16’ SR5 DCSB Silver Sky Metallic -Michelin Defenders -Sport Chrome Grill -Pop Lock Automatic Tailgate lock -Electronic Compass Rearview Mirror -Hardwired Vantrue N2 Pro dashcam -MESO Customs LED Interior lights -JDM ASTAR LED Headlights -Tyger Soft Top T3 Tri Fold bed cover -Fumoto Engine Oil Drain Valve -mud flaps -various Tacoma emblems, door sill guards, bed mat, seat covers, etc. :)
Nice comparison. Just FYI for viewers, you can use a ProClip mount with a X-Grip holder together. That's what I'm doing to get the best of both worlds. I didn't like the fact that ProClip charges a lot for their phone specific holders and appreciate the X-Grip "universal" fit better. I also don't know if I'll have my current phone for all that long (or as long as my vehicle) so it made sense to mix the two products. ProClip's mounting solution to each specific vehicle is unmatched but they have cheaper options to get phone holders so I went with RAM.
Sweet video, I’ve been thinking about an X-grip and this vid helped me a lot. Just got a new 2020 TRD off road, so I haven’t done too much. I put in a new grill because the stock one is horrible, and I put some ecoological bumper shells on those rear chrome bumpers. Just got a tonneau cover too! It’s gonna be sick to slowly add more and more onto her.
New 3rd Gen Tacoma SR5, so far only blacked out the chrome, added dividers for inside storage compartments, toolbox in the back, and tinted the windows. Hoping for a lot more changes in the future. Thanks!
Love your gear reviews Chloe.....🙂 I have the Ram X Mount....with a suction cup for the windshield. I’m a pilot so I use different Ram mounts in the plane and helicopter, depending on what I’m flying that day. I like the suction cup attachment ‘cause it’s easy to take from my Jeep to my Ram 1500 to the aircraft. Thanks for your videos....looking forward 👀 to more...!
I went with proclip, I attached a ball and siliconed a Magic Mount pro XL magnet, it’s sooooo much better attaching your phone/iPad to a magnet. It’s super solid and won’t come off when off-roading
2017 grey Toyota Tacoma off road 4x4 double cab. Got a pro comp 6” basic lift with fuel chrome 20x10 triton rims on bfgoodrich a/t tires 285/65r20. Viper alarm 1 way. Rust proofed by zibart. 4 led rock lights and 4 led strip interior lights. Weather tech rain guards. Upgraded ground cables and power cable to alternator. Also did a audio control lc2 in-line converter that goes into my amp (alpine 700 watt) that’s pushing my p3 DVC 2 ohm sub. Have a small kicker key 4 channel amp that’s powering 2 1” tweeters 2 3/4” tweeters that was custom mounted on the snail pillars. I have kicker coaxial 6x9 for the front and 6x5.5 in the back. Soft top bed cover. 6 inch drop hitch. Leds all around but turn signals (because I hate hyper flash and not comfortable with how much heat it makes). Opt7 40” tailgate light bar hard wired to the tail light harness. Also door Jam insert (so it doesn’t scratch) reused my off-road OEM skit plate (which took time and trimming). Also windows used to be 5% all around but wind shield but got a warning from a cop and now fronts are 35%. And a 24 inch light bar
Love your videos! I have a 2018 TRD off road Tacoma, I swapped the stock tires and rims out for ProComp blacked out rims and 34inch all terrain tires with a 3inch lift. I really love my Tacoma!
I have had my 2019 cement trd off road long bed for about a year now. I've done led bulbs from deautoled.com, and rci off road bed rack, roam vagabond roof top tent, baja designs amber ditch lights, avs window visors, pro grill with raptor lights, and bed stiffiners from total chaos fabrication. Wheels and tires are next.
My rig is a 92 Toyota pickup 2wd with a fab tech mid travel kit and a rear add a leaf 31in KO2s on raw aluminum anerican Racing wheels 3 inch front fiberglass and regeared stock engine with 330k on the dash I’m picking up a brand new Tacoma OR DCSB with the manual trans in December your videos are great and entertaining during this quarantine
You can actually mount the ram mount to the Proclip USA base, you'll need 1 or 2 more components depending on your setup. I use the RAM Mount/Proclip combo on on my 5th gen 4runner.
If u want more mounting options later on check out the dashtop multi mount from the taco garage. Ive had it for a few months now and am really happy with it.
I know its not on this video but im jealous of your wheel and tire setup. Keep up the awesome work. I want to see you take this beast off roading one day.
3rd gen double cab SR5 4x2 bone stock. I’m saving up to get a 4x4 again. My 1995 V-6 Xtracab 5-speed manual i got from my dad died right before I started getting into Overlanding. So that was a $27k hit to my savings. I’m almost back to where I can get a 4x4. At least I can sell the 4x2 fairly easily here in Hawai’i. I do miss the compact size of my first gen.
I have a '16 Tacoma and just recently bought a Hondo Garage mount. I don't know why I waited so long. It's a great mount! I'm also using the X-Grip. it's cumbersome to get the phone in and out, but it does hold tight.
Great review video. My 2016 Tacoma is a DCSB blue limited. It’s pretty loaded already. But I added 275/65/18 oversized tires. Blacked out badges. 9500ix radar detector, Weathertech mats, Tint, TRD Pro skid plate and shift knob, metal oil filter housing, and 2.5 inch toytec lift kit. I use a clip on type mount from Amazon but it rattles all the time. Would not recommend. I’d like to try the ram mount. Thanks for reading
X grip is not the best mount for off road unless you use rubber bands or something to secure the corners. the quick grip is FAR more secure. The only non enclosed phone mount I trust on a motorcycle.. Keep up the excellent content.
I actually bought a 2020 Tacoma Off-Road because if your review. So far, I did no invasive mods, such as black vinyl on the trims, swapped the tail lights from 20' to 18', blacked out the emblems. Now that I have a kid on the way, that phone holder will be an amazing addition for us. We've always had a hard time figuring where to put our phone but just plopping it down easily will make our journeys efficient. Thanks for the giveaway, and keep making videos. Btw, you rocked that boxing match...do you think that other girl was an challenging match?
I want it!!! I have a 19 Tacoma and I added led interior and exterior lights, wheel spacers, predator steps, hard cover, rain guards, and dark tints! It looks pretty bad ass now lol
I ended up going with the Iottie cup holder mount. I don't typically use my cup holders for cups, cause I don't like beverages in my vehicles, so it made sense for me. It is adjustable so it fits securely in my cup holder. The only thing I don't like about it is that the Tacoma has those little spring loaded flaps to kinda hold a cup in place, and finding just the right spot to expand the fittings so as not to damage those flaps was a bit of a pain. It puts too much stress on the clip if placed directly on it. I also like that it keeps my phone out of my line of vision, making it far less likely that I might become distracted looking at the screen. The last bit I did was run my power cable from inside the center console down the underside of the E-brake area, and out of the side so there is very little wire showing. I love cable management. 🥰
I personally prefer the iOttie one touch 4 phone mount. Mounts either on the windshield or on the dash. Never really been a huge fan of vent mounted phone holders. Keeps the dash clean and doesn’t block any buttons you’d normally use for the radio etc. Also, keep in mind that during colder months when you have the heat on it’ll blast that hot air directly onto your phone.
Glad I found your channel, good information, I have been looking for a good mount for my phone...2017 Sport 4x4...I have done a lot of stuff..haha..Lift and tires, Prinsu Rack, partial rear wrap, rock sliders, New Grill, Scoop light bar, lower light bar, just purchased new Sequential Headlights and New fogs that I need to install
Hi Chloe, Awesome demo .. 👍 I noticed you already mentioned in your video that the heat from the vent will make your phone hotter while you're using your phone mount, and especially during the winter when you're using the heat then it will definitely hinder the performance of your phone, and sometimes your phone might turn off suddenly of excessive heat, so you definitely want to close the vent, or redirect the heat flow to the bottom of your dashboard instead to keep your phone from becoming hot... Is your Toyota a TRD sport off Road premium trim package?
Great vid. I’ve been looking into and trying to decide which of these phone mounts to get for my Tacoma. I have a 2019 SR 4x4 with the TSS off-road package added. So far all that I have done is add a Meso Customs Coin Holder, Pedal Commander, and removed the front air dam. I have videos showing all of these on my channel. Also just purchased an intermittent wiper switch since the SR doesn’t come with it. Will have a video of that next week once part arrives.
Purchased a wall phone mount ( comes with two $9) from Amazon didn’t use the adhesive tape that comes with it but used Velcro and mounted it by the emergency brake. The phone is out of the way, easy to see who is calling because of the Bluetooth connection, and with the Apple play I’m good.
I just wanted to say you really motivated me to get my first Tacoma truck. I’m 26 and not really a hands-on type of truck dude, but watching your videos gave me sooo much confidence. I hope you know the impact your videos have even long after you upload them 🙂. Appreciate you!
Had a dark red 99 Tacoma sr5 xcab 4x4 v6 5spd, tan interior. Lifted with helper springs and front spacers. Flex sealed the bottom 8" or so. Should never have sold it. Silver 2007 Tacoma Prerunner base access cab rwd 4cyl 5spd. Didn't like the 4cyl lack of power. Silver 2007 Tacoma Prerunner base double cab rwd v6 auto, lifted with blocks and spacers, Window tint, debadged, Helo rims and a 2 piece kayak rack. Flex sealed the bottom of this one too. Had to sell to get a 4x4 when I moved back north. I drive a 19 Jetta now but someday I'll get another Taco, I just know it!
Thank you!!
Check it out.❤
2017 Barcelona Red trd sport blackout chrome grill and emblems with plastic drip. Upgrade rims and tires.Led lights under seats.
Like the set up you done on the taco. Since I got mine taco done different stuff like pop a lock, remote start and front camera. Those tires aren't cheap! Those 4runner rims look awesome.
2020 TRD Off Road. So far...tube steps, LED headlights, a black exhaust tip! Might not sound like much, but we'll get there!
Appreciate your videos!
2019 cement tacoma. so far i’ve upgraded the grill to a PRO grill and also i’m in the process of getting a lift and new tires and wheels.
So far the only thing I’ve done to my 3rd gen sport is add a meso customs coin holder for the slot in my center console area as well as the chrome delete kit
2019 SR5 Taco Off-road 4x4. It’s stock right now but the possibilities are endless! Great video! 👍🏻
One year later, any upgrades?
2019 SR5 Access Cab 6ft Bed. I have put on a trailer hitch for a recovery point in the rear and a soft roll up Tonneau Cover.
I like the look of that RAM mount
2018 Cal Blue TRD Pro. I haven’t done anything to it beside mud and dirt on the paint.
I got a 1998 2wd Tacoma ext cab 2rzfe 2.4l with a mild lowered suspension. 18" advan wheels and alot of mods. Its fun and I enjoy it very much.
2019 TRD Offroad DC Calvary Blue, Enkei RPT1 16x8, TRD skid plate & shift knob, TRD stop/start button, Weathertech window defectors, Anytime front & rear camera, auto locking tailgate, Mesocustoms chrome delete kit, Redline hood struts, LED headlight & foglight bulbs, LED interior bulbs, glove box & center console organizers, Desert does it seat Jackers & multi mount panel. Future plans: front & rear suspension, re gearing to 4.88s maybe new speakers.

Just ordered the Proclip based on your recommendation! Thank you Chloe, keep up the great reviews and “how to’s”!
I know this video is old but the pro clip is excellent and their specific phone mounts that have the holder for a charging cable is awesome. It makes it so you can just set you phone in the holder and boom it's charging. I've had the same phone holder on two different vehicle mounts and I love it.
Very simple. You do a great job describing the mount(ProClip). Just purchased one for my 2nd gen Tacoma.
Check out dash top multi mount from taco garage. More sleek hidden look when not in use
I have a 2018 TRD off road 4x4 in cement grey with long bed, ARE camper shell, trd pro wheels (wrapped in Falken wildpeaks), trd pro front grille, and some minor aesthetics.
Straight to the point review. Good job.
Thanks Chloe I went with the X ram because it works with my phone case that has a pop socket on it
I have a 2009 Tacoma I only have tinted window and a sub but in the process of a 4” lift with rims and tire, metal front and rear bumpers, side step, an exhaust, and repainting it
I haven’t followed someone new for a very long time, nor do i even comment, but you’re doing an awesome job! Keep it up!!
I appreciate that! 😊
I found putting things near the driver side vent, it gets in the way of the wiper control
Robert Torres did you learn the ac drain mod from Regular Car Reviews?
Nicholas Bradley it was from another RUclipsr

2018 Trd off road, so far I added a roof rack and plan on getting my lift, tires and wheels done pretty soon! Love the videos, hopefully you get to do more mods soon and do more reviews!
If it starts sliding around, build up the backing with strips of gaffers tape.
I have a 2019 Tacoma Waialua edition in cement which is specific for HAWAII. It’s still stock but will be adding a lift and bigger wheel in the future.
Kody Tamashiro ho braddah no forget da gold chain ahh 🤙🏻

with the ProClips USA, you can buy extensions to raise the phone so in horizontal mode, it doesn't cover the infotainment display.
Another great Taco Vid 👍

You made the right choice with the pro clip. It looks sleek and not super gadgety like the other one. Great review and install on the two mounts.

2020 Tacoma TRD Pro no mods yet. Haven’t even driven it much yet. Had it over a month and only have 200 miles on it.
I like the way the ram x grip can move in multiple directions
Been looking for one to use in my ‘20 Taco, thanks for the info! So far I’ve upgraded wheels and tires (well they’re ordered at least).
I use the Mob Armor mobnetic pro. I like the minimalism of it. The ram and proclip are also great though. Good video.
Love your videos! I have a 2018 TRD off road Tacoma, I swapped the stock tires and rims out for ProComp blacked out rims and 34inch all terrain tires with a 3inch lift. I really love my Tacoma!

You can actually mount the ram mount to the Proclip USA base, you'll need 1 or 2 more components depending on your setup. I use the RAM Mount/Proclip combo on on my 5th gen 4runner.
Hi can I install a Pro clip on my Tundra? 🤔
If u want more mounting options later on check out the dashtop multi mount from the taco garage. Ive had it for a few months now and am really happy with it.
My heart skipped a beat when you popped that dash out 😂😂😮💨
I don't have a Tacoma i am a Tundra owner but i am here only to see you .You are Stunning
I know its not on this video but im jealous of your wheel and tire setup. Keep up the awesome work. I want to see you take this beast off roading one day.
2018 Taco with 31” Falken Wildpeak AT3 and a muffler delete
Perhaps but a little bit of lock tight on the screws. Should definitely help them from not coming loose.
Dang! I missed this vid...I been wanting the Ram for my 3rd gen...good video
I bought the pro clip due this review and love it!! Now they need to release the holder for the new iphone 12 pro max . Great video!!
I could use the ram x mount. the vents are able to close and rotate too? I sometime rotate the vents for my co-pilot aka my puppers.
Amazing videos Chloe LOVE THEM SO MUCH!
My taco is a 2017 SR5
Haven’t done anything to it but looking forward to starting a build soon!
I like the Ram better👍
Great job with your videos.
2020 O/R cement gray. Stock for now but getting a lift very soon!
I want it!!! I have a 19 Tacoma and I added led interior and exterior lights, wheel spacers, predator steps, hard cover, rain guards, and dark tints! It looks pretty bad ass now lol
You are so smart and I love your taco reviews
You are a natural making RUclips videos 👍. I have a 2020 TRD OR with sliders and vent shades. Thank you for the video.
I have a 2012 and just shove it in the cup holder. Its angled perfectly towards me 😂
Haha!
2014 Tacoma here. I do the same thing. Lol 😆😆
Checking in late for a 2017 I do the exact same thing lol
Late but I do the same for an 18
Late but I do the same in my 22
Hi Chloe, Awesome demo .. 👍
I noticed you already mentioned in your video that the heat from the vent will make your phone hotter while you're using your phone mount, and especially during the winter when you're using the heat then it will definitely hinder the performance of your phone, and sometimes your phone might turn off suddenly of excessive heat, so you definitely want to close the vent, or redirect the heat flow to the bottom of your dashboard instead to keep your phone from becoming hot...
Just checked your videos out, truck looks great!
Thank you!!
2017 Trd Offroad Tacoma 4WD
-3inch lift
-BF Goodrich KO’2 (285/75/r16)
-Bronze Methods Rims
-Rigid Industries Pod Lights
-Tinted Windows & More!!.....
Just completed my purchase for RAM grip. Can't wait to install it.
Hi just asking if you do put undercoat in your Tacoma?
1997 Tacoma. 300K miles on it. I’ve owned it for 18 years now.
2019 Tacoma TRD Off-Road.. let see TRD grill, bilstein 6112 & 5160, 285s KO2, Baja Rack, Sumo 🤷🏻♂️ can use a Ram Mount tho 😅
Niceeeeeeeee. I find using the Taco Garage Dashtop Multi-Mount is the best and easy install.
2020 taco and I powered coated the rims and put bigger tires
I just wanted to say you really motivated me to get my first Tacoma truck. I’m 26 and not really a hands-on type of truck dude, but watching your videos gave me sooo much confidence. I hope you know the impact your videos have even long after you upload them 🙂. Appreciate you!
Loved the video. I don't have a Tacoma yet, but seriously thinking about getting one soon.
Have the pro clip in my 4R and it’s great
Hope im not late
