The Tacoma is definitely challenged in this area. Of all the solutions available I do believe this is the best solution as it just looks better than the competition and the functionality is 100% on target. Great video!

Hey Chloe, found your channel and love it. I've had/been a Toyota truck and 4Runner (all 4x4, of course) owner since 1983. Toy trucks are the best, long lasting, fun to have and cool looking. I'll keep up with your channel for sure on new ideas. Currently, I have a 2013 Toyota Tacoma and a 2020 4Runner.

I have a similar set up. I actually used a Quadlock wireless charger for my dock and ran the wire into the dash and spliced into the volt adapter. Nice clean setup!

Thanks for this Chloe, I ordered one plus that phone mount after watching this vid. I wasnt having a lot of luck searching and nothing came up I liked. I'm not 100% sure this ticks all the boxes for me but I think it's 95% so going to give it a shot. I sure hope that phone holder will hold the phone in landscape!

Very nice Chloe but I have a question. What happened to the stinger radio kit you installed with the big screen
The expedition essentials 3tpam was what I went with and all though the price was a bit high the versatility of mounting things to the front and top of it as well as adding 2 more USB’s to the truck was well worth it. As far as cable management I just ran everything under the trim pieces and up and out one of the holes in the mount. Easy and clean.
I’m not a fan of drilling but I like what I see so i probably buying the dash and phone mount. Awesome video thanks ….

Before you install something like this, ensure you look up your local and traveled to location's vehicle codes. For example, in Chloe's home state of California, it's illegal to have ANYTHING that blocks the windshield. You can technically get a citation for the old-fashioned tree air fresheners. This gets even more complicated when you go to/through other states. You're technically required to comply with local laws. You get a local small-town deputy who doesn't like out-of-staters, this is an easy slam-dunk ticket for them.
In California, if Chloe gets pulled over for any reason with her Ipad and iphone in these mounts, she risks another citation for obscured front vision or the cop will just order her to remove the mounts with them present and watching.
Look like Very good product, very clean set up, I m gonna add this to my Tacoma set up , more clean and look tough enough for cell or action cam.

How come you got the TRD PRo vs TRD off road ? I’m trying to do research on these trucks and it’s more pointing to go with the Trd off road to save the extra money, yes lol I do want a sunroof the off road is the only one that offers it.

Hi Chloe thanks for the videos my name is Gilbert. I just bought a used Tacoma trd pro. I drove it last night but the LeD head lights seem to be lighting the other lane on the driver side and the passenger side is lighting the gutter/ part of the sidewalk. Ive been trying to search how to adjust it horizontally but could not find how. Do you happen to know how? Also the rigid fog lights seem to be to low how do you adjust it vertically? Thanks
You're lucky, i get stopped for having an one those air fresh trees that hangs on your review mirror. I got stopped for not signaling on a empty road at 3 AM, driving while brown i guess 🤷🏽♂️.
By the way, any of your gen 2 Tacoma owners has been having issues with your entune system! Mine keeps pressing buttons randomly. I believe it might be the humidity but it happened in Cali too so i don't know. I checked the Tacoma forums didn't see anything.

So I live in a really hot area during summer. Will this aluminum mount get hot enough that it might melt the plastic of the dash and/or bezel?
Everything in the car is the same temperature. Next time you bake a cake, open the door and put your hand in the oven when the cake is just about done. Then touch the cake. Then touch the pan. The pan burned you finger. But everything in the oven is 350 degrees. The air, the cake and the pan are all the same temperature. The metal pan just holds more heat. The aluminum phone mount will store enough heat to burn you if it's in the sun. But the plastic dash is the same temp assuming both are black.
What apps do you use on your devices that you’d need to mount all this stuff? I’m genuinely asking.

I get what you did here, but considering the high profile of these things in the vehicle, especially at night, I would be very worried about the police pulling me over as I am pretty sure these would be considered illegal. I would definitely check with at the very least, local police, but most importantly, CHP.

Where is the stinger radio?
A nice design, essentially a copycat of the Bulletpoint system. The flaw however is the Tacoma's bezel; simply isn't sturdy enough. @15:15 you'll see the bezel isn't the best foundation for multiple weighted items. I have Bulletpoint and I must be very careful when mounting anything that requires a spring loaded device mount to be spread open by hand. I wish there was a better way. I just don't see this mount as being any different despite that does appear to be well made.

JUst be careful mounting your Ipad that high. Visibility on the opposite side (passengers side) will be compromised. You might miss that kid crossing the street, that motorcycle merging onto the highway, etc.

Ya’ll need to think about blocking your window view not only for safety but also legally. As someone else said you could miss that kid in the cross walk but you’ll know pretty quickly (thump thump). If you go through a town with a bored police officer, this is a ticket waiting to happen. Blocking your view like in this video, is illegal almost everywhere. All it takes is 1 officer with nothing better to do and….

My only problem is having all these systems in front of you may cause distracted driving. Too much to look at.
I'm usually a big fan of Cali raised but this mount rattles. It is the most annoying thing. Save the money or shop around. It is not worth the functionality of holding the cord. I completely regret the purchase. The company did not care at all when I called.
Not sure how safe having an iPad sticking up above your dash is. Recently the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety points to the increasing popularity of larger vehicles as a possible factor in rising pedestrian deaths on U.S. roads, which are up 59% since 2009, per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The study's authors questioned whether wider pillars holding up roofs of the larger vehicles make it harder for drivers to spot people walking near the corners of vehicles. Adding an iPad to the dash will surely increase the possibility of not seeing a bike rider or pedestrian.

To everyone complaining about visibility… I’m 6’4… The rear view mirror blocks my vision out the passenger side way more than a iPad mini ever would for ME. You just have to adjust to it..I’ve had my truck for 5 years and haven’t turned anyone into a speed bump 🤷🏼♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I really cannot imagine how someone could drive safely, with a large-screen Double-Din stereo, a large screen cell-phone AND an iPad in their vehicle. According to the CDC website:
• In the United States, over 3,100 people were killed and about 424,000 were injured in crashes involving a distracted driver in 2019
• About 1 in 5 of the people who died in crashes involving a distracted driver in 2019 were not in vehicles―they were walking, riding their bikes, or otherwise outside a vehicle.
I appreciate upgrades and mods, but I think there are too many items being added to vehicles in general. What happened to just simply driving a vehicle? Please don’t take this the wrong way, I’m just pointing this out for the car industry as a whole. Why do we need all of this stuff to get from point A to point B…it seems like a lot of distraction. Can’t we just listen to the radio and drive? Just my .02 cents.
If you're going off roading in the forest or desert, just listening to the radio and drive is a great way to get lost and die. Unfortunately some mapping software like Avenza Maps which the US Forest Service uses for their maps aren't Android Auto or Apple Carplay compatible yet (it really should be made compatible), so you end up needing an iPad mount to use the maps.
