Where I see players coming from about glitters: plating doesn't buff toughness, some colors rely on damage removal, glitters is stronger for those match-ups, but plating is just better overall.

Pauper should have more aggro decks. The format is basically mid range and control, the only exception being mono red can not be healthy for a format. Where are the Elves? Where are the Mono Green Stompy?
Aggro decks died with all the mass removal in red/black that is available now.
There's no way to fix this, because they printed to many of those as common.
@@malte54 Printing more 3 toughness creatures would help a lot. To be fair, the new green and white dog that released in MH3 lighted a spark of hope in me.

True, but as long as those 3 toughness creatures aren't 1,2 mana value, it's probably still better to go for a midrange strategy with 3+ mana spells.
Can't agree on that when around here quite about everyone plays red in some capacity. Mono red, Rakdos Madness, Boros Synthesizer, Ponza, .... red is set up really well in pauper and is by no means bad just because swiftspear got banned and dragon breath exists (which is also red). Pretty sure this is a meta thing around your area.

Ponza and Boris Synth aren't aggro at all.
Bouncing Inspectors and Synthesizers all day long is the opposite of aggro. Destroying your opponents lands does not really sound aggro either.
They said a lot of times that banning either cycle of artifact lands would mean that affinity was still surprisingly strong so please ban the untapped ones over the tapped ones, as an jeskai ephemerate player, I want to keep doing the cleansing wildfire ramp combo, don't make us pay the price of the crimes from affinity
Currently, I don't think Affinity or Mono Red are egregious in play rate or winning percentage, but are polarizing because people don't like playing against those types of decks. As Gavin brought up multiple times in this video and the All that Glitters video.
So it's frustrating that they targeting top tier Aggro decks as unfun to help justify the bannings of All the Glitters and Cranial Ram, and bring up the Artifact lands as a possible ban target. Eventhough the win rates and play rates weren't really out line compared to other formats or compared to other metas in Pauper's history.
Aggro decks have always been polarizing to players, especially Mono Red. Just look at Standard, even when Mono Red was bad, people complained about it. Hence why we are seeing a lot of Midrange soup formats.
However, I do realize Pauper is community driven format and I appreciate the transparency from the Pauper Format Panel.
I think the problem with super aggressive decks in pauper is that there aren't as many good answers to them as there are in other formats. Dying to removal doesn't mean much if the opponent can just alpha strike you from out of nowhere because you tapped out to play something, meaning you're constantly behind in tempo. Other formats have ways to battle that with free spells or cheaper interaction that keeps those kind of cards in check. Cranial ram would mean you have to answer the ram otherwise you have to deal with every single creature the opponent plays. Both All that Glitters and Ram are cards that snowball out of hand way too quickly for a format that doesn't have a ton of diverse answers.
4:39 Your missing the point on hydroblast and blue elemental blast. They are pieces of both removal and interaction against red decks in the side deck, Cranial ram being red DOES MATTER ALOT in this case.
I think the decision to ban ram is sound too; I personally don’t see any issue w the artifact lands, and for the love of god leave my mono red alone! It’s one of the reasons I moved to this format!
I am very interesting in basking broodscale and evolution witness, though, and wonder what kind of deck techs will come with them. I’d love to see Turbo Fog, One Land Spy, but most importantly, Golgari Dredge!
Sneaky Snacker can be really good even in decks like Madness even without brain-storm. You have Demand Answer and faithless looting, deadline disputes, bolos tokens and s rap mutts to discard it and draw 3 cards (on your turn). It’s a pretty soldi card!!
Sneaky snacker is card I build around bitterblossom and psycho frog. I will try play this deck in modern, but I really dislike an art on this card so I wont play it in pauper.😢

I'm ok with the ban decision, I think they made their point quite clear and I respect that, it makes sense, moreover I wouldn't have liked that card, even if I am an affinity player. Given that, if the really gonna ban artifact land, i'm gonna leave the game. There are too many answers for artifacts (instant artifact ban or even split second now?), they are balanced. Not gonna lie... I bought rams to play in pauper as I wanted to keep my streak of playing every broken version of affinity, but alas, these guys were unto us. Time to see if this works in modern.

I think if it didn't have Living weapon it wouldn't be NEARLY as bad. In colors that can give haste so easy at that.
if you have a problem with the untapped artifact lands getting banned, just get good, there will be another decks to play, they are a part of the "identity of the format" whatever that means, as much as the next card because it is a constantly changing format and that is good because it is boring if it's the same all the time. Plus, as Gavin said, clearly those lands create some amount of trouble just because of how many cards they had to ban over the years because of those lands(even before the bridges).
I mean, there weren't too many cards being banned before there were bridges. It's just plating really.
lol, Finally banned. It never even got to be played. They should have let it be played for a bit and see how the meta goes. I know there are some big money pauper tournaments coming up very soon so this probably was a big reason for them to preban it.

@@williamdrum9899 At least Lurrus got to be played. Vintage is supposed to be about playing everything together. Players always wambulance when the deck they had for years is no longer the best. Let it play for a bit and see what happens.
They really need to not plan important events after a major set release. Like I get why that do it to promote new cards but well a meta game is shaken up is the WORST to show off any format especially an under represented one like pauper
the pauper panel should put one month aside where they ban all the artifact lands and legalize all the artifact payoffs just to see what happens!!
They should of just let it rock and warp the format. This was an extremely poor decision on their part. Pre-Banning cards is insane. They should of just printed the card at uncommon.

Pauper being "not as big and cared about" is kind of funny to me. While not as big, Pauper is the only 60 card format WotC actually gives a crap about
It's the opposite, they care so little that they let Gavin, and by extension the PFP he created, do whatever they want. It might as well be his pet format for all they care.

Imo I will always hate pre-ban. WotC knew what they were doing this card. They really wanted to reset the meta like they for modern. But the banning of All that Glitters threw that off. Thank you to the pauper community for sounding off.
Whilst I’m not for pre-bans always cranial plating in no way was made ‘for pauper’. The cards in sets are not made for every format and predominantly the commons and uncommons are made for balancing the draft and limited environment.
There is literally no such thing as “made for Pauper”

Ram had to go no doubt. TBH I will probably bounce out of the format if they start banning lands. The bridges add much more to the format than they take away by potentially overpowering affinity decks. If affinity is the problem then ban myr enforcer. The bridges are used heavily in so many decks in the format in perfectly fair ways and are the only reason why jeskai ephemorate is even a deck.
Sneaky snacker is a really cool card that I have been messing around with. So far I have struggled to build anything with it that wasn't just shoehorning it in an existing deck. I haven't found a super unfair way to use it outside of just brainstorm. Refurbished familiar is going to be good in affinity, but it is going to be insane with the glinthawk/kor skyfisher shell. WB blades is going to be sick now.
The people that are saying it should have been given a chance and that this prebanning is bad are so detached from reality, it's laughable

What makes it so powerful it needs banned? I genuinely don't know. Haven't played since original Kamigawa and I am just getting back into it.

It's not about being "detached from reality". It's about not knowing if the meta could handly it.
It's just stupid to ban cards, if no one even got a chance to play them. What's the problem (especially in pauper) with giving it a couple of weeks?
Just because of Paupergeddon? That's a week point, since you - again - wouldn't know how the meta evolves.
