I just watched like 15 videos on base locations to see if anyone else had the cathedral. There is a lot of obsidian and metal nodes just outside. Hidden walk in entrance into the cathedral through one of the creeks that you have to cut vines down to get access to. Right near where the wyverns are. I love that place. Never tried building inside it, I keep all my gathering dinos in there though, super protected from everything.
Hi that's awesome! Thanks for the info, that will be super helpful. I made this video a while ago as part of a super old lets play series, but turns out a lot of people are looking for base locations here. So I will hopefully soon do a new actual guide on Ragnarok. Keep an eye out for that :)
This is literally the most helpful video I’ve seen. Keep it up!
I'm so glad it helped you! I really enjoy helping people enjoy their Ark adventures, so I try to create helpful Ark guides and videos every couple days!
There is a huge pre made castle in the desert that is a great spot for a large base. It takes some building up but it's very cool. Can't remember the coordinates, but if you go to the river in the middle of the desert it's near the mouth of the river, can't miss it.
I recomend 69 42.0, there is a large underground cavern of sorts there, and it's right next to silica Pearl's, a bunch of metal, Crystal's obIndians etc, it is near almost every resources.
(Also nice coords)
Omg your content is so good 😊 I cant see how you don’t have more subs. Keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll blow up I’m sure of it
Thanks so much! Actually this channel is only a year old but I didn't really start getting serious until about 6 months ago. But it's grown almost 30% last month so it's really blowing up now :) My quality improved a LOT since this video too! ruclips.net/video/HRvFCGn6oiU/видео.html I'm glad to have you here and I hope you'll enjoy a lot more of my videos in the future! :)
Great video not only was the content good but you spoke out to the people that watched the video, almost every comment was answered by you good job mate.
All I'm saying is that it's great to see that you care for the viewers
Thanks so much, Jaron! I definitely try my best to get good content for all my videos. (The content is SO much better now that I have a good mic and video recording software though lol) And I try to eventually answer every comment, even though on busy weeks like this one where I'm swamped with comments, it may take me a little while lol Thanks so much for the support, I hope you enjoy the new videos coming even more :D
@@jaronmurdy5372 And thanks so much! I really do care for all of you :) Let me know if you ever have any questions about Ark and I'll do my best to help! :D
The Alpha Plateau next to the castle is one area I have found where I can get infinite wind power for the Wind Turbine. Great for PVE. Also great beaver dams are near and if you go to the largest waterfall connected to the beaver lakes if you build on top of the waterfalls edge you get another infinite wind area. It won't say 100% like on Scorched Earth but it has never failed having bases there. It is not hard to get oil but between wind power and cryo fridges you can take extended breaks from a server without your tames dying and energy running out. There is also a decent sized resource cave inside that waterfall as well great for Dino storage.
As for wood in the Highlands you can either get a decent quality chainsaw and you can overharvest trees getting way more wood than normal or make a resource raft with a decent amount of storage containers or if you have a PC, the RP visual storage mod is amazing since it has easy to make dedicated storage. Just sail to a wooded area and use a Thorny Dragon or Beaver and stock up on tons of wood.
26:23 - 26:25 May be strange but i swear i heard a damn minecraft zombie growl!?
Dev Easter egg?
Turn Your volume up! :)
ur righht
I need place for main base. Some large flat area. Anyone know good place? I dont like desert btw
Sadly, cant build in the cathedral....
I'm a cave dweller forsure. Everytime I play rag I always boiling in the highlands cave. When completely filled in it holds much more then it actually looks . Also love the bone cave next to viking bay. The pirate cave in jungle is my fav pve
The center of the map. No questions asked.
Try not to spend so long on your intros
Sorry about that, this video has an obnoxiously long intro because I was doing a special 100th episode anniversary and lots of announcements too. My current videos have much shorter intros :)
@@ArkSurvivalGuide No worries dude, I hope your channel succeeds!
Thanks! It's doing SO much better now that I got good recording equipment, and the Ark Switch guide is going really well :) I hope it helps you on your Ark adventures too! :)
Lat 10.5 long 24, underwater. Stunning cave.
hei dude!
im missing the ruins at the smaler island around 68/5.
build my base 2 times in this ruins. it tooks a bit of time for the first foundation to place it correct but its worth it!
maybe you've checked it in another video (or off-camera) idk but if not go check it out.
Hi @TobiiLee thanks so much for the tip! I actually have spent very little time in the Southern half of Ragnarok, but I plan to explore more soon! I will definitely check that out and will probably add that to a future Ragnarok base locations guide :D Keep me posted if you have any other great locations to check out in the Southern half of Ragnarok and thanks again for the awesome tip! :)
clear out the castle clean up the rubble in said castle and the bats and spiders wont respawn then fortify as u please
Viking Bay is definitely one of the best areas to build for beginners. I created a main base near the stream on the far side of the bay, no regrets, still use it :) just don't block the stream on pve servers, kind of a dick move lol. guaranteed food, access to the ocean, plenty of metal, and rocks, and trees....you really need for nothing in that area.
Thanks for the video, love how you marked the location
Thanks for the compliment! :) I thought the markers would help a lot! I'm planning to do more guides on the best base locations on Ragnarok region by region. I'll probably start with the best base locations in the Ragnarok Highlands first. Be sure to subscribe and ring the bell for notifications so it tells you when my next Ragnarok base locations guide comes out :)
@@ArkSurvivalGuide that would be cool and helpful
@@schizoterry6978 Sounds good, I'll add it to my Ark videos to-do list :)
@@ArkSurvivalGuide awesome thanks for getting back to us and thanks for sharing the cords most other RUclipsrs don't share the cords and show you the terrain I've already started building in that Easter egg spot on PVP great spot
@@schizoterry6978 No problem, I always do my best to make all my Ark guides as helpful as possible. I will keep the helpful content coming, and plan to do lots more Ragnarok base locations guides too :) I'm so glad this helped you find a great base location to build on in Ragnarok :)
I believe the written names are the people who worked on that part of Ragnarok.
One of my favorite base locations is the large bridge just NW of the center of the map, great view and fairly center of everything
Thanks dude Im starting a new server with some friends and I was thinking about where to build and your last one in the museum I have never seen before and I know none of my friends have seen that either so when I start up that's where I'm headed
So after getting geared up and traveling to said location you can not build in this museum sadly I've tried to find work arounds it for hours today and have found nothing
I'm so glad this helped you find the best base location on Ragnarok for you :) Hardly anyone seems to know about this place on the Ragnarok map because it is so hard to find, but it should be a really great place for a base :) Let me know when you move in, I'd love to hear how it works for your base :)
@@ArkSurvivalGuide it didn't work so I moved under the water fall on the right what a difficult time that was 😂😂
Oh man! I'm so sorry to hear that!! That's really sad they block building in there >.< How close to it can you build? It might at least make a great dinosaur pen if you can build close by as I heard nothing spawns inside. Thanks for the information though! It will really help when I make a full dedicated guide on the best base locations on Ragnarok.
Oh man, :( I'm glad you at least got to build close to it though! I hope that works out well anyway :)
Love that lava cave!
I know I’m late in this but I just started on ragnarok and video help me a lot. There are so many to pick I can’t decide and also I sub and like because I think you did a very good job doing this info video👍
Thanks for the video i was in the cave base under the lighthouse but ran ouy of room now im at Ragnarok castle plus a sub
The base that you showed that looked like a church doesn't allow you to build in it
Yeah I’ve been trying to find a way around this. I really want to build in there
Me too, I just found it for the first time :(
👍 enjoyed the video
Thanks! SO glad you enjoyed it :) I'll make more Ragnarok base locations guides in the future that will focus on just the locations, without so many announcements :)
Hi, this vid helped me out with finding a new base location on the map. I also saw all the comments you liked and replied to and I think your channel is great!
I'm so glad this video helped you find your new base :D My goal with this channel is to help people have more fun on Ark, so I'm always so glad to hear when it helps someone! :) And thank YOU for the encouragement, it's what keeps me working hard on more Ark guides! Thanks for watching, there is always more coming every couple of days!
Damn this has helped me a year later
Ark Guide luv the video dude just trying to find the cathedral location
Hi, if its possible, (unless you already have done this) could you make a survival guide for the Primitive Plus? I have a really hard time finding one on youtube right now. Thank you so much, and keep up the good work!
Hi Nami, thanks for the encouragement! I'm still a pretty new channel so I'm slowly working my way through Ark starting with The Island and Ragnarok. I may get to Primitive Plus eventually but it may be a little while. At the moment, I'm focusing on helping all the new Ark Switch players who are still pretty new to Ark :)
23:08 my favourite
My base is in the first spot behind the waterfall I love it
Where is the green flat area with the water near the beginning at?
I think that would be the Highlands on Ragnarok which are found from around 15,70 to 17-85. The whole NorthEast area of Ragnarok is covered in the huge Highlands area. It's a really awesome place and the huge grasslands are a new biome on Ark found only in Ragnarok.
I found a good one it’s a base actually there’s three at that one spot in ragnarok it’s where you should see 3 waterfalls
19:15 me and my friend kive here!!
Very good place
Feel bad for the lack of subs you have for how much you upload
No worries, it takes time to build up subs and this channel is only a few months old. The views are pouring in nicely though :) Hope you enjoy the videos anyway!
@@ArkSurvivalGuide Very useful video. On gaining more subs: I'd urge you to use a different mic, having suspect sound quality generally means people simply assume suspect content and simply won't bother much.
Thanks for the tip! I was actually trying to get a good mic for a while, and one of my best friends who is a professional audio guy just gave me an awesome new mic for my birthday! How does this sound? ruclips.net/video/8XBT2Y-MAb8/видео.html&lc=UgxWTtdzblvAwCkMlFt4AaABAg I appreciate the support for this channel, it's finally starting to grow :)
On my server which is Ragnarok on Xbox I would like to be able to build at the Waterfall Palace anyone know how to ini config allow this?
Is it audio or your voice or my phone cause the audio is messed up
Lol don't worry it's my audio. The mic I was using was not exactly professional grade. I just got a really good mic for my birthday though so the audio quality should improve drastically very soon :)
thers also an area at about lat 57.5 lon 19.3
Thanks for the tip!! I'll have to check that out. I'm making more Ragnarok tour videos at MUCH better quality, so I may feature that spot in one of them :)
Been watching this in 2021
U deserve so much more subs, I wish ark was a bigger game to others, don’t understand how some don’t like it.
Thanks @Mako Haworth I really appreciate the encouragement :) This channel is actually still pretty new, but it has doubled in subs since February so it's growing pretty well :) And Ark isn't for everyone, probably mostly because it's really hard to learn at first. But I dedicate this channel to helping people learn to enjoy Ark to its fullest, so hopefully that helps :)
I spent 1800 on a good PC but Ark is poorly optimized and I frequently crash in the Blue Obelisk area on Rag and on Aberration map. I just wish I could have a good time like everyone else :(
What is the location of the base in 2min22 ????
0:30 what are the coordinates
Pleas
First place beeing showed
Me right now:JURRASIC PARKKKKKK
That is SOO true! lol I think about Jurassic Park so much when I play this game. Every time a Raptor gets me I hear in my head, "Clever Girl!"... also when a Raptor chases me off a cliff or stands in a campfire until it almost dies... lol. It happens way more often than it should!
Where is that flooded Statue tunnel at the start at?
Jump to 23:06 (or click this link) and it will bring you to that section where I explain how to find this place. It's very hard to find if you don't know where to look lol. I'll drop a map and coordinates at the end of this section as well. Hope you enjoy visiting this awesome spot :)
Pretty sure you can't build there
Oh man, sorry to hear that! I haven't actually tried building there, but I'm pretty sure you can build structures attached to the front or back entrance at least. It makes a great vacation home courtyard for a bigger base attached to it if nothing else :) Thanks for the heads up!
you sound like the nicest guy
Lat:45 lon: 31 under waterfall
Thanks so much :) I'll eventually get back to doing an actually good base locations guide for Ragnarok, and I'll check this out for when I do that. I have a MUCH better recording setup now too lol
U should use a gos in your vids
Here’s an insane base for anyone! Coordinates: 24.5 28.3 Map: ragnarok
That first Viking bay base is terrible for pvp, you can access it via raft from.ocean, so wood rafts, thatch building and c4 cam really mess it up easy
Thanks for the tip! :) I don't play PVP Ark myself but I figured the solid rock walls all around would give pretty good cover as the main gate would be the only spot to defend. I can see where the C4 raft trick would be a real problem though.
What's your favorite base location on Ragnarok?
There are three good bases on rag for pvp, that's carn caverns in swamp, a cave in desert island where you can fit anything big inside to soak, and the cave between green and canyon, has two entrances and one is basically useless to try to raid
Great advice thanks! I need to research PVP more so I can make my next Ragnarok base locations guide more useful for PVP players, but I'll be much better prepared thanks to you :)
How get ragnarock on switch
I liked the video, but im trying to get away from viking bay. It keeps crashing my game on xbox. My base is currently in the large carvern by the broken bridge. At first i thought the space was too big, but now i absolutely love it. I built large ramps to get from the top platform (where my main base is) to the ground entrance and bottom.
If u need help /admincheat destroywilddinos makes the job
Video is great, sound is terrible.
Yo it doesn't tell me where I am at the map how do I know where to go it doesn't tell me where I am on the map I can make a PIN to where I want to go but it doesn't show me specifically
there is a setting
Can't build in/near 23:08
Thanks for the feedback, Zerk! You can build pretty close to that building but not inside. Still it can be almost attached to a base, and it's an awesome place to visit and store dinos. That's why it is just a runner-up for great bases, it's not really practical to live in, but cool to live near :)

No hate but a new mic would be nice
LOL I get that a lot on my older videos, and thanks for the no hate. That's better than a lot of the internet :) I actually got a new mic for my birthday from my friend who's a professional sound guy :D How does that sound? ruclips.net/video/MIJwJnBVvFc/видео.html&lc=Ugw76x1qZiJU_bX7QHR4AaABAg
Playback speed 1.25
Thank me later
Haha actually that really does help ;) I second that idea. I'm making MUCH more concise videos and guides now, and I'm working on a series of Ragnarok guides that will cover specific regions so keep an eye out for more, greatly improved Ragnarok map tours!
God bless you
@Melissa Ruiz LOL sorry for the super slow intro, I actually meant this video as mostly an announcement for subscribers, but it seems like the Ragnarok map tour portion got pretty popular. I'm working on a much better quality Ragnarok tour series, and I have a lot of much better Ark guides coming, so keep an eye out :)
Hi
You’re mic??
I can't build in the cathedral 25:00 plz help
Dunno if you've already found out but the Cathedral is hard coded to be unbuildable. It's a monument to all the Patrons who helped make the map and as such the creators made it impossible to build in. No settings can be changed either to under that
Dont take this offensively but if you got a better mic your vids would be way better cause you kinda sound like a robot
LOL thanks for the feedback and you're totally right. I used to record these through my phone because I didn't have a mic lol My newer videos are with a pretty decent audio setup, see what you think: ruclips.net/video/iDnQP2uoZCE/видео.html :)
Any1 on ps4 official?
I hope to play online someday, but won't have the availability for it for a while. If you post a comment on one of the newest videos, some of my subscribers play online on PS4 :) I hope you find some good people to play with!
Takes waaaaay too long to get to the point
Sorry Hoi, the main point of this video was actually to make some announcements on this series, and talk a bit about where some of the best base locations on Ragnarok are, because I was going to take a break from my Ark Ragnarok series for a while and get feedback on where to build my main base on Ragnarok when I got back to it. But with all the changes and improvements we have had to Ark, I don't think I will be back to Ragnarok for a little while. I will probably make a real "the best base locations on Ark Ragnarok" guide sometime soon-ish though :)
@@ArkSurvivalGuide no problem mate, do you by any chance know when the next serverwipe is happening on ARKpocolypse? No one is willing to tell me and wild card or the official ark twitter aren't responding
I'm afraid I actually don't play Ark online so I'm pretty out of the loop on Ark Online news. Wildcard is unfortunately extremely bad at communicating on Ark news so I can't find any info either :(
20 40
26:06
No hate but get a better mic and make the intro shorter
LOL so true! I should have made my announcements video separate from my Ragnarok base locations video. I actually didn't expect this to take off as a Ragnarok base location guide, but I hope it helps people anyway. And they mic was really bad lol. I had to start somewhere so I was using a $20 mic recorded on my phone for this video ;) I have a good mic now, and I'm playing with some pretty cool video formats: ruclips.net/video/hYr9eLIcLM8/видео.html
U
Sounds like you stabbed your mic with a fork.
Lol it's worse than that, back when I recorded this I was using my phone to record audio! I have a real mic now and I plan to remake this Best Ragnarok Bases guide soon with good audio :)
Also I like your profile image :) My wife is in love with penguins.
Rrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Get a better mic
Thanks for your feedback :) I actually finally got a much better mic, which you can hear in my more recent videos. How does that sound? ruclips.net/video/8XBT2Y-MAb8/видео.html This channel is still very new so I'm still improving my audio/video quality. I hope at least the info in my older videos is helpful :)
Much better, thanks
LOL thank you :) It's been on my to-do list for a while but if you see some of my earlier videos, getting HD video quality was top priority because it was really blurry at first lol. Keep an eye out for better quality guides in the future :)
