When I played Ragnarok for the first time, I went to almost all these locations

Worst part about joining a new PvP server: Going to all of these locations and getting imidiently shot down by turrets on your low level Pteranodon.

26:29 it’s great as a starter base while you prepare to go to somewhere like the basalt sea cavern, but the gigas stomping around above you will get quite scary after a while

@@hiroisabot9944 you really want to find somewhere off the beaten path if you are solo in PvP. Most of these base locations are very popular these days. There's a few exceptions but I'd say the best idea is having multiple ways to get restarted stashed away somewhere. Good luck.

The beach is only good for levels. Get a raft and set it up with basic stuff and find a good spot then slowly move inland

Ive used a small temp base at beach to get myself setup with a pteranodon and metal/big walls and then i begin a bigger base elsewhere

As an added bonus worth mentioning with the West side of viking bay bases, there's a pond/lake there with 3 large redwood trees you can build platforms on and tap for sap. Beats flying all the way to the east or south for redwood areas.
I had a base on the place at 21:00. One of my tribe mates old enemies followed us and tried to raid us. We had 3 turret towers on each entrance and about 20 wyverns lined up on The Wall. As soon as the raiders blew the first gate (we had 2 behemoth gates on each entrance) of the lower entrance, the turrets lit them up and all the wyverns went after em. Once the turrets were drained (it’s really boosted server so health was crazy), all the wyverns were taking care of their griff while the turrets on our actual main building were shooting at them. I ran outside and started shooting them with my shotgun. It was a 5v1. I killed 3 inside, 1 ran away, and when the last one tried to run, he parachuted out of the waterfall and I sniped him mid air. My tribe mate got on and our main building was untouched and there was just a dead griffin on the floor. Took about 20 minutes to get all the wyverns down to where I could mount them and land them. Honestly, that was the hardest part.

I hate that spot i was flying on my pteranodon nek minute a lightning wyvern appears out of nowhere and knocks me out and i fall,but the unlucky part is i fall in a water full of sharks and piranhas like brUh

Base at Lat:20 Lon:80. Nothing spawns there, is a really cool cave, has its own little access to water (nothing spawns in that), great amount of room. If looking out for it, it is inside a waterfall turning into a little stream. If found it, hope it turns out good!
P.S There are also Gigas nearby lol

My main PVE base on Ragnarok is in Pirate Cave (at 4:02) and it's such a great building spot. Only fish and otters spawn in there so you can have water tames roaming to feed themselves (I have some stationary anglerfish serving as extra lighting and have the other water tames follow them so I don't lose them) Metal ocean platforms also fit really nicely in there for extra space. I grow crops on them. Also have cliff platforms up the waterfall for even more dino storage! Stick gatherers up there so I can just walk them to the mainland easily.
Edit: Forgot to mention there is obsidian and crystal in the water.

@@hunterwhitney7456 That's the bad part about Ark. Official is constantly wiped, offline raid protection official people build in spots or by caves and never come back except to refresh the decay timer, and unofficial it is hard to find good, active ones.
Steve, did you notice that in the ice cave at 10:50, you can break open a waterfall and there is an artifact cave in it
I hate it when I want to build a huge garage for my dinos and foundation cant be placed because it's not flat. That's why I need flat location.

3:48 probably a very handy base when it comes to:
1. Protection
2. Storing water, air and land creatures
3. It just looks f*****g cool with the waterfall

Parker Ruth we just got raided at that location... the cave damage is a real pain. Held them off for 4 hours.... as no dinos can get in! Raided ended as we electric prodded and caged their leader. He yielded to us!!!! Base was destroyed but we WON!!!!

you should’ve included that island off of green obelisk, it’s really far so you have to have a flyer or a boat to get their, their is a really big cave under the island too to big a base and lots of herbivore dinos

Being a solo player, I like to have smaller bases in each corner of the map and one large one in the center of it. That being said, I Closed off the openings in the lighthouse in the NE corner and also built a small workshop outside of it.

Just got back into ark. Haven't played this map yet and before I go to an official server I'll go into a solo session and build a base in the suggested areas to see if I'll like it and stuff. I place teleporters in the places suggested so I can just teleport to each one, the first one I named the teleporter "ribcave" 😅

Yeah if you play on official servers all of these locations will be pillar blocked by the same people.
PvP tribes that already run the PvP servers with duped clone armies and 200 people spread around often like to make PvE characters just to place structures to block building in all decent places because "It is fun 2 c PvE fhaggets crai"

You want a good ragnarok base location? Go to the green obelisk. Its in the left side of the map, if your near the green obelisk you will see a massive space for tames and a massive base. It has a river nearby and you have a big wall there so you can make a turret tower. You get an occasional Rex or Carno. But at that point of the game where you can big a really big base. I'm pretty sure you can handle it

Thanks so much for this vid - I am already in a cave which was mentioned in the vid but I feel that it was the worst mistake I've ever made - I am now flying around looking for an outside place to build that will suite my needs - I'll leave the caves to the bats and spiders

Hi Hi, the first cave takes increased damage, fixed in last weeks patch to x6, but its a pain to seal off, third cabe seems to have 2 entrances, but it has 3, wait, not sure now since lots of the map got changed and havent checked it again.... . Building on the ice Plato is setting you as target, since its the penguin spawn and best oil place, also the only 2 spots for oilextractor
You missed a couple of super-hidden caves which start off with the entrances covered in rock which needs to be mined to open up the way in.
With those you could use refertiliser to close up the entrance any time you went offline so your base is fully camouflaged. You could also do this during a raid to keep respawning your natural defences.
One is at the base of a cliff facing the swamp islands, another is one I have a base in so I'd rather not say where it is.

The odds of someone knowing which server you are on is very little plus now that you say it they may just look it up on another yt vid
James Bradwell is say where his base is as he probably switched to extinction or quit playing. The place he built in is the one by lighthouse there is a little ravine where a ruin bridge is located under the bridge there is a rock you have to crawl through or break through and no medium nor big dinos fit there. i will give the coords when i get home

The second location (cave overhang) is so good! I settled there and would lure big ass dinos down the waterfall, then climb up and shoot them with a crossbow. Really good way to cheese any enemies nearby. Not much metal around that area tho besides the lake nearby. But still a great base location.
