    I drove an m977 a1 during my deployment in Iraq 03-04. Only thing missing is the crane mounted on the rear. Logged 25,000 miles in 13 months over there. Very Impressive machine. I now operate the m1120 a4 model. Oshkosh all the way! That rc is very well detailed to the real thing btw

    Just popping in here now to say that after a year of owning one myself (bought second hand) the front shocks softened up a lot, giving it a nose down attitude which annoyed me. BUT... my fix for that was to dismantle the shock and, to my surprise and joy, my harder springs form a set of Boomracing internal spring shocks fit around the original spring, so I rebuilt the front four shocks, with those springs added and it sits great again. And doesn;t seem to have lost any flex, since both springs are moving freely past eachother. Beyond that, NEVER put a 3s battery in. It can take it, but it's -too- fast and you will shred drive shafts. But as a trail truck, it's great. One of my favs in my military lineup. (Only surpassed by the RocHobby MB1941)

    • @scalebuildersguild
      @scalebuildersguild  5 лет назад +2

      There's a few votes for snow camo. In most cases, they paint them white with a really crappy paint, so over time the green shows through. Could look cool!

    As a paint job idea, perhaps giving it a patina look? Like it’s been sitting outside in the motor pool for an extended amount of time, giving it that lite barn find feel when the GIs have to go out and do an inventory and find it with some surface rust and a layer of dirt and dust on certain parts? Or another idea could be that the truck once belonged to a tyrannical military and was stolen by rebel forces and given its own impromptu rattle can style repaint in the colors of the rebels trying to liberate the people from said tyrannical military. (Last idea was probably from playing too much Just Cause games and Mercenaries 2)

    @mikeymike3240 5 лет назад +1

    Another awesome video man, it's a great piece of kit, maybe I'll get one if they become a bit cheaper.
    I got my SBG baseball cap, it's a superb addition to my baseball cap collection. I had a sphincter moment when I got hit with a tax bill of 15 dollars Canadian, sooo it was a very expensive baseball cap in the end. I still like it though.
    What about a futuristic, post apocalyptic type of truck, i think it would lend itself nicely to that type of build, and a SBG builder will do it justice. 😀👍👍👍

    It is a great looking truck I love the detail but I do not like the fact that it does not come in kit form! I also do not like the fact that it comes with leaf springs, this is what I like about the cross RC is it’s a coil over and link suspension very good articulation! Maybe for scale enthusiast this might be more up your alley but for something that is functional I would prefer the coil over suspension! The RC4wd beast is a nice truck as well but the suspension is lacking! The cross rc is right in the middle & comes in kit form & different levels(A,B,C) so you can save a little bit of money depending on what your desire to build is!

Then painting it will require a lot of disassembly/reassembly, as well. Other than that, the visible battery is my only concern. Since you seem to reply to nearly every comment, and I can’t find an answer anywhere about this.... I am new to the “drivable model” part of RC, in fact, this would be my first. Bang good has a version without the cargo box, this is for use with a crane and a lowboy trailer; in the version you have (801) could the cargo box be removed effectively making the 802 variant? I’d really like to have both option available to me and the 802 I would have to paint since it only comes in “yellow”; basically does it have the 5th wheel? Was super excited when you were showing the rear of the vehicle and I thought I could see a 5th when, but then you moved on. Anyway, my research and enthusiasm led me here and I have been binge watching all of your content, learning a great deal, and now I am subscribed. Thank you for the great content!

    500.00-800.00 is not to far fetched if replacement parts are available.

    The only way it could be more scale is if it barely gets out of its own way and squeaks/rattles constantly while going down even a smooth road. Military trucks look cool, but their performance is really disappointing. At least an RC version will be fun.

      Sadly no, I lost interest in this build and sold it to a friend. He's done a lot with it though! Check out GCMRacing!

    The body is hard plastic or metal? What parts of the truck is plastic?

    • @scalebuildersguild
      @scalebuildersguild  5 лет назад

      A combo of both, but mostly plastic. Axles, chassis, most mechanicals are metal as well.

    Any time you're interested in anything Cross RC just contact us. Email address is on our site crossrcus.com. We have both versions of the HG on display. They hold their own in the detail department when compared to the Cross trucks, but I'm sure you know there is something about building the truck, that you don't get when you buy it.
