My MOS was 63S in the ARMY, The Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) was my specialty for 10 years. This truck is so scale and detailed like the real deal! If i had the cash it would be mine!
Loved the video. You sure know what you are doing. I liked the video of upgrading the transmitter. I would like to see that again. want to upgrade my HG 802 transmitter.
Thanks for the review. Your review was a big factor for me to purchase one. Am very happy with my purchase. Hope you make a comparative review with the CROSS US Mamoth and CROSS US MC 8C units.
I want one bad!!!! But, that will never happen, as those are too rich for my blood, lol... Heck, I was struggling to afford the Aeromax & Knight Hauler and everything to make'em tick.... Couple brand later, all in efforts so I could chop them both up to make a HEMTT, and then, I see this, lol.. My soul is broken now, as I could have safe allot of money on just getting this unit, on well, that is how things go. I really like it though!!!, Thank you for showing this
Thasnk you for posting this informative unboxing; this does look like a convincing attempt at producing a truly hobby-grade model. I´ll be interested in your opinion once you´ve put some (scale) miles under its wheels. Meanwhile, thumbs up : )
i am having alot of trouble deciding on one of these hg p 802 or buying the cross rc bc8 mammoth vs the cross mc8 the hemtt seems to be very stiff however it is a us military rig ..the other 2 look much more flexible for off roading
I agree with your assessment. The P-801/2 is a great very scale looking US Military rig. Very capable but does not have the suspension travel of the Cross. I
Quite awesome - but it's probably priced way more than the HG P402 I have, and WAY more than I can afford. 😱😞 I'd love to have one, but I don't see it happening. DEFINITELY their best offering yet!
Ha! A long time ago I learned a lesson. Guys would come into the store and ask why the Traxxas Rustler was $100 more than the Tyco car at Toys R Us. So we would throw it 6' in the air and it would land perfectly. Then we would take the body off - throw it again and tell them to watch if it would bounce (it didn't - stuck like glue). Then we would take the body off and stand full weight on the chassis. Seems like after that they couldn't get the money out fast enough. We sold thousands of Rustlers.
I work at a depot that Resets these trucks..that is an M983A2 not an A4.The A4 has a Cat engine and these older A2s have Detroit Diesels among many other differences
I am going to build one using Tamiya trailer parts. If you look at my video installing lights on the Hemtt you can see some drawings of what I will be building.
In all these video's, this chap likes to throw items down on his workbench. slap it down, yeehar, you can bet your boots on that partner. Very good tips on building especially on painting.
I hope they release it as a kit, I am more if a builder. What is the quality of the hardware used? Are the wheels a beadlock type? Are the driveshafts pretty stout under a heavy load or are they Twizzlers?
Driveshafts are very heavy duty and the wheels are beadlocks. I like kits too but seems now days the RTR's are a better deal especially when the come with radio and esc.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC Sound good, altho $800 this may wipe out my RC Fun Funds for 2019, Ha Ha!!! I purchased the HG-P407 Bruiser Clone last year. It won't compete with a Axial or equivalent purpose built crawler truck. But as a scale triail truck with leaf springs it's not too shabby. I swapped in a few on hand parts and mods I had on hand to make it more capable.
I also have the P-407 and will be doing a video soon on upgrades on a budget. Both scale items and some running improvements. Hopefully will get it up in a few weeks.

V-block in those??? Detail you say? They don't have V-block engines in those. Inline engine came in those trucks. Used to work on them all the time in the Army. LOL like the "Transmission Hump" cuz the trans always sits in front of the engine right? And 5 transfer cases?... WOW
Actually my references show the HEMTT used a Detroit 8V92TA engine (at least the newer ones). Here is a link to a you tube video: ruclips.net/video/gN9dZb_wYnc/видео.html The engine in the HG looks just like this.
What an amazing looking truck the detail of it is outstanding. Thanks for the video showing the truck.

I just bought one for $37 online,today....score one for me, awesome video and truck. ;)
I think you bought 6x6 plastic one. This is 13kg metal monster that goes around $600. But, I do think the small one is fun too ;)
If you did that would be amazing, but there is a much smaller "toy" vesion that I suspect is what you purchased.
Thanks for the review. Your review was a big factor for me to purchase one. Am very happy with my purchase. Hope you make a comparative review with the CROSS US Mamoth and CROSS US MC 8C units.
That is a M983A2 not an A4. That model truck is usually used for the movement of the Patriot Missile system.
Nice model you have there. Great unboxing. P.S..please don't handle anyone's new born. :-) cheers!
Drop test masked as unboxing...

I see the look on ur face.. ur jus a big kid.. jus like me wen I got the HG-P408 hummer lol 😂
Nice Vid about. Explains why this model is so expensive, but really if I had that money right now, I would buy this in a heart beat.
very good p802 i love
I drove the 1120 LHS in Iraq in '03,too bad they don't have the LHS but beautiful truck nonetheless, love it.

Great video step by step good job
Great videos. Awesome truck!!
That’s what I’m talking about. Already ensembled
That's what she said about the Box LOL vid thanks for putting it out there👍
Funny how the box is marked « fragile » everywhere and how he just throws it on the table and drops everything instead of putting them down slowly
Ha! Yep, an old habit of mine. I just want to make sure it can stand the heat!!
He doesn't always slam things down, but when he does, it's every time.
7:05 I saw/read somewhere that the cable steering does the job robustly, perhaps surprisingly so.
Yes, it really works well.
Nice... just needs a trailer now... 1/16th scale would be cooler tho to fit it to all the Rc tanks! Still pretty nice!
I don't know what I like more. The truck, or watching him get his butt kicked trying to get it out of the box.
Ha! Yes, learned a lesson from my first video - do a test unboxing first!!!
Every time he slams the box down, the harder it is to get the truck out of the foam - ;)
tks mate nice 👍 rig must buy !!!
11:30 I suggest you want weight over the rear axles for this particular vehicle.

I need one in 1/6 scale!!!!
Nice review, but! what is the center deck w/ladder about!!! What is it for!!! You flew by it!!@
ordered 1 yesterday off ebay. Can you recommend a battery for it?
nice
I got too get me one of these wow!
hop to see some trailers for it
They will be making a trailer from my understanding. I plan to make a custom flatbed for it in a future video.
Thank for the video nice truck what the price of this truck
Oh, are the 4 diff's lockable?
I'm just waiting for Casey & Finnigan to show up.
Why you need to smash everything around? Take it easy dude.

Agreed, drove one a lot during “ Desert Storm”
Ought to be a drinking game...take a shot every time he slams it down.
I said the same thing
I think he was a butcher in a earlier life.
When are the trailers for these trucks supposed to come out
I do not know.
Question, do you use the electric box? I have a hobbywing 1080 with internal beck... so i think to get it out?
All the banging around. Dropping things. Just generally really hard on things. Very annoying on the speakers
I work at a depot that Resets these trucks..that is an M983A2 not an A4.The A4 has a Cat engine and these older A2s have Detroit Diesels among many other differences
Yes that is correct. On my install lights video on this truck I show close ups of the engine with the cover off so you an see it better.
Just like the truck I drive. To bad to see it doesnt have a preinstalled winch cable
Any thoughts on a flatbed or Lowboy rtf trailer?....I'm struggling to find one in that scale.
I am going to build one using Tamiya trailer parts. If you look at my video installing lights on the Hemtt you can see some drawings of what I will be building.
pronounced "hemit" most awesome truck!!!!
Saw your other video. I have a question. Can u use a 11.1 volt battery 2200mah in the truck?
Not with the stock motor or ESC. No advantage on this truck anyway, a 2 cell works great.
How does this truck compare to the Mammoth BC8 by Cross RC?
Nt sure but it is a scale HEMTT and that is the best part
Great Video! You mention a trailer from HG. I can't seem to find it. Do you have a link?
It is not out yet as far as I know. There is a drawing of it in the manual.
What's the best battery to run this model on
I have just been using some 2000 NIMH packs I had laying around. I do plan on eventually going to 5000mah 2 cell Lipo's.
Awesome review of the truck. I was wondering if you know the width of the trucks cab?
Tee cab and bed are 8" wide. Overall length is 29" Thanks!

I want one but I have over 200 on amazon balance and they want 150 shipping cost.
I hope they release it as a kit, I am more if a builder. What is the quality of the hardware used? Are the wheels a beadlock type? Are the driveshafts pretty stout under a heavy load or are they Twizzlers?

I can't find any information on the Amewi truck.

do you think think this thing could haul a 50lb bag of corn in 5th wheel trailer?
Now that sounds like an idea for an upcoming video!

is there a site for HG models? can't seem to find one.
I can't find a company site - just dealers.

it be nice to put a link to the truck from where u get it from
NICK'S SHOP. It’s for sale on Banggood at the moment with 7% off plus you should be able to add some coupons to reduce it further.
I purchased off eBay, several sellers have it. I did wait until eBay had a 15% off sale....
Hi nice Army truck were can I get one and how much it cost ? Thanks nice video 👍🏻
Greensmodels uk
I just bought one from geekbuyers and only £320 instead of £700 off ebay.
Does it have aftermarket parts?
The one in the review is bone stock. Some parts are coming out like lights and sound which I will do an install video soon.

The engine in the HG looks just like this.

It's a 475-580bhp L6
I guess it all depends on model and year of manufacture.

No, I think it sounds like most big RC trucks. Still I am looking fwd to the sound system.

forward to 6:00 mark, thank me later
I have no idea what you are talking about but glad you are watching closely!
That's a lot of scale detail for the dollar compared to some of the major brands.
