They certainly are awesome, I nearly bought the 801 yesterday, but I need a few other bits first, so maybe in the summer! I'm hoping they release the trailers and the Radar unit!
Wow that is a Beast Phil 😱 that is one steep hill, it was like the hill of hamburger hill the film, think the sound kit was fine mate , the servo sounds abit high pitched but that might be because it's carrying 10 lb in weight 😱 fantastic maiden Run and a magnificent video 👍😎👍
Cheers Tony...it was very steep! I struggle to get my old legs up there haha. It has dual steering servos and cable linkage for steering, so pretty heavy and loud! Maybe a little grease will help. 👍
Cracking video, Grommit! Nice one Phil - this one sure is a beast - very nice looking truck, and capable as you have shown. It was great fun watching you trying it out on that steep hill and clinging onto the trees, sure I would have ended up on my arse!! :D
😁😁👍 It is cool as hell!! Only think that bugs me about it is the loud noise when you turn it reminds me of the cheapo wpl fayee little trucks kind of annoying.
How are your rigs holding up? I saw another video of the truck, were a guy said it had very weak axels and broke easily? Is it something you have experiencing? Thanks im advance.
Mate....I was not sure who was going to fall first...me or the truck! The place is called 'Hubbards Hill' in Lincolnshire.....so many nice spots, and shallow water. Certainly be going back!
Haha nice one fella. Rigs like this are a very different driving experience and can climb like mofos. That muddy hill looked an all day challenge. Really good vid.
I've got to have one of these, Awsome fun, Excellent quality of build & features 👌, Excellent value for what you get, this is a great boys toy for sure.:)
Man, that's such a cool truck. I was waiting for this video, very curiously, to see what it could do. In fact I'd even like to have one myself, but realistically I wouldn't use it very much. So I'm glad you have one, Phil. Enjoy your upgrade & aging. (Of the rig, not you hehe)
Cheers Al....it's a really nice rig, although carrying 10kgs to find somewhere to run it was a chore lol! If I'd known the Lipo was going to last for so long, I'd have driven it all the way haha. Looking forward to adding my own little touches. Cheers for watching 😎
Phil, I have just received the P803a with tipper and lights and sound already factory fitted, but the headlights only come on when the truck is rolling forwards, how did you get yours to be on all the time ?? and how did you disable the indicator and reverse sounds as they are Darn awful on mine.?
On the control board there are 2 empty spaces, I think in the instructions it says 'fog lights'... I plugged the headlights in to there. As for the indicators, just unplug them. Not sure on the reverse though lol
Hello. How does it fare against the Mammoth of Cross Rc US in terms of build and performance? Price wise, you can get the HG P801/802 half the price of the Mammoth.
Do you still drive this beast? How do you handle switching batteries during a drive? With the screws and all? I just ordered the 801 and am already thinking about printing a case that holds 2 or more batteries and reroute the lead in to the chassis.
It is limited, but far less than some other models, it's angled with the metal plate to allow you to push past some of the restriction... good fun all the same 👍
hi mate, am waiting for mine to turn up.. a week away though. Can you tell me if the one you had, had got spools on the back axles? seems some have, some haven't. Also, how would you think it would climb with some really chunky tyres on it? cheers.
@@TomleyRC hi, apparently some come locked from the factory! hope mine does. I liked your test ground, that hill climb was excellent. Probably one of the reasons I ordered one for myself. Have a virtual pint on me.
@@danielm978 First impression is wow, and then I started noticing stuff that I needed to change. The materials quality is excellent, the drivability is good. The build quality is mixed - some stuff done up way too tight on the suspension, some stuff too loose. Simple things to put right, front springs too soft, rear springs too hard. Suspension travel is limited by this, and the bushings in the link to the tops of the diffs. Tyre foams too hard. I have altered all of these, which wasn't too difficult, and I like the truck even more. For me it is a "project" truck that was never going to be left standard. So yeah, I like it a *lot*. You could leave it standard and have a great truck, or make it your own with some modifications. I'm going to be doing a video of mine off-road soon. From what I've seen the stuff I've done will make it better than factory, for not much money.
Love it!!! I notice it’s been a year since posting this video are you still happy with it? I want to buy one and get the trailer so I can Tow my RC Tank
I have been looking at buying one of these HEMTT’s, is it worth the cost? And I find it sad that the engine sounds like trash and not like the 8v92ta 😢 my fire department has an 8v92ta and 6v92ta and I took the mufflers off 😚 ooooooooo they sound good!!!!! And that Jake Braaaaaaaaaaah!!!! I love it
Your sound unit is terrible.....all of the videos that I have watched, the sound units have a completely different engine sound then yours.....I would ask for a replacement sound box
that thing is a monster the sound kit is sooooo realistic
It actually sounds good on the video....it's not as good in real life, although not really bad, just not as good as it could have been 👍
What a monster , beautiful truck.
It certainly is a monster! Lots of fun!
@@TomleyRC chevron on the door is nice touch..for those who know.
ThatsMyRC also has one..I think it's the same..BEAST!!!
Great video big thumbs up 👍🏻
That’s one serious capable truck 🚗💨💨
It's pretty unstoppable I must say!
It's such a majestic beast of a vehicle you should totally do more military model rc vechicals. :)
Very nice. Looks amazing. Sounds amazing. looks like your bridges is about under water
I wanted to get it fully submerged, but need to upgrade the electronics first 👍
Really nice.....she sure will go about anywhere...very good filming...thanks
Thanks Ron
that thing was a beast getting up that muddy hill. great video bud
Cheers Tim 😎
Truck looks wicked Brother. What a sweet bit of countryside to some crawling, great job on the video, really diggin the closeup camera work.
Cheers dude. It's a really nice truck! We have some really good spots round here in the UK, just gotta find them! Thanks for watching 👍
I'm going to sell my soul for one of these😜
Or just a Kidney 😎👍
Nice video. Looks like I have to get one now.. I will get ready to show this beast to the world. Bet it can pull a kid on a wagon😉
I think it could probably pull me in a Wagon...it's got so much torque! 👍
I love both of mine they are my new fav rigs for sure.. awesome video they are a beast to be recognized 👍🏼😎🤓

That's where I got this one.... 👍
Awesome bro
Cheers dude
I got a sound system for mine from Greens models, it sounds excellent far better than the stock one.
I saw them on Greens. I have an ESS One that I want to try, that has a really nice Heavy Diesel sound you can download. 👍
Amazing piece of machinery and electronics. Looks Massive. Good run. Tires seem to be challenging in the mud but looks so cool.
Cheers dude, yeah...tyres not the best for the wet stuff...but nice and scale looking. I can see me having loadsa fun with this! 👍

Wow very nice scale truck big thumbs up my friend XD 😁👍👍
Cheers dude, it's pretty impressive. A good investment I think 😎
Its a beast for sure servos seem really loud though! Awesome video matey!
Yes, very loud cable steering
Man what a beast 💪 that sound box sounds good on start up and tick over only when you give it beans it hurts the ears 😂👌👍
Yeah, the start up is awesome.....just a it to cheap sounding normal running. I have an ESS One Dual sound unit, meant to be really good!
The video speaks for itself! Awesome. 😀🥓🤤

What if your ball bearings get wet?, that’s not good is it? Thanks for uploading this!
I dry and it all off and then spray WD40 on all the metal parts. Sometimes water will get in, but that's just how it goes.
Good test
Thank you 👍
Pretty amazing truck, dude! That's really a beast! 😮
I'm looking forward to making a few changes and improving it, but out the box, it's very good!
Awesome video! I had to do it... ordered one!
Awesome, hope you enjoy it as much as I have so far! It's a real beast!
Very nice video, great trail location and the truck did well.
Fantastic-thank you.
No problem Tony 👍
Perfect trail for the beast.

Some slightly more aggressive mud tires would make it even more unstoppable offroad. Are they standard 1.9 or 2.2 inch rims?
Yes, tyres were the limiting factor today. They are 2.2's 👍

Hi, on the full size truck the tyres are general purpose for the really sticky stuff they fit much more "knobbly" tyres, great video!!. Steve.
Awesome video, but for that price it really should be. Nice review.
How do you film so low and control the truck at the same time?
Thats cool. But theres a limit on angle for crawling bcoz of the cabin.
