Judge Rosemarie Aquilina was perfect for this case. She let everyone who wanted to speak, speak, and gave them as much time as they wanted. I think it took about 3-4 days just to get through the trial because of all the brave girls who spoke up.

It was to an extent. He failed to conduct follow ups with the girls he sent to get examined. You never send someone to a medical examiner without later asking, "Did he touch you?"

The point is, he felt guilty sending those girls after finding out what the guy did. If he had conducted follow ups, he could have spared himself most of that guilt later down the road. He definitely shouldn't be demonized, but at the same time he missed an opportunity to be the accountable man that he needed himself to be.

This man had not prepared to say anything else other than "Go to Hell", but after the judge urged him to go on with his statement he was concise, to the point, and a message well sent. He did a good job for right off the cuff.
It would be so easy and understandable for the victims to be angry at everyone involved at any stage in the entire process. The fact that they recognized how sickened this other fellow must feel and publicly supported him in court speaks volumes about their character...and his. OMG, I can't imagine the guilt he felt trusting that person. He wasn't guilty but he knows that he trusted someone who he didn't know was a monster and who fooled him just the same as the girls. Hearing what those girls went through and knowing he referred her to them - you can see he wants to kill him just the same as the fathers of those girls and the girls themselves. I really think he was just as abused because the guilt put upon him referring those young girls was brutal. I can't imagine his pain because he had no idea. He's a good man
