For those who missed the hearing where Darrell Brook formally uncoupled himself from his state provided attorneys let me share with you that it was excruciating - Judge Dorrow went on for what felt like hours about what defending himself would mean; she went over his rights, what valuable resources he would be losing access to, what he would be up against with regard to the prosecutors, and that he would be expected to function as any competent attorney would. She told him that he would be up against a nearly impossible task and almost begged him to keep the attorney's provided by the state. So just keep that in mind when he complains endlessly about how unfair this trial is.

Assuming his mother testifies on Monday, I wonder if the prosecution will ask questions about anger issues, if she's ever felt he forced her into doing something against her better judgement, or if she's ever been afraid of her son. After all, mister "if you ASK me I will, but ain't nobody gonna TELL me what do" very proudly declared that if he tells her to come, she'll be there - that really doesn't sound like a person who takes "no" for an answer.
I have to wonder, what does he think she can possibly say that will convince the jury to spare him? That he regrets it? No, we're all convinced he only regrets having been caught. That he's suffered? Maybe, but how does his suffering balance against the pain of those injured, and those who lost loved ones? That people are aiming hate at her? OK, blaming her for the actions of her 39 year old son is out of line, but why should that translate into mercy for him?

Everytime we thought she should have done something to reprimand it for it’s behavior, she didn’t. And she had a VERY good reason not to. All of its behavior was recorded and documented through the court reporter. She did this to make sure it would never see the light of day again.

This is why there needs to be some legal standard to represent yourself and a minimum level of decorum in court as in this case contempt does not work because imo he knows he’s going to be locked up for life anyway. the weak Karen kindergarten judge is an enabler to this clown show by allowing him to derail basic court procedure, she needs to be replaced.
