This is what a narcissist does. They perceive fairness as bias against them because it isn't bias in their favor. Their entire world centers around them and they can't conceive of others outside of themselves. The guy is trying to take the reins because they aren't in his control. He can't stand that he's not being allowed to do whatever he wants.
Just like when detectives tried to show him video of the parade, and he said, "You want me to watch video of my life being over?" Only thinks about himself, of what it means for him, no care for any other human being. It's a sign of the tolerance and concern for fairness of our society than a man like this lives as long as he has. In a society less concerned with justice, he'd have been dead long ago and nothing of value would be lost.

Looking back this is one of the many moments she allowed him to have control. Don’t say you are going to do something and back out constantly! You can not do that with a personality like Brooks.

I’ve been watching almost the entire trial. Just cannot turn away. The patience of everyone is astounding. I hope that he’s ready to be told what to do, when to do it, etc behind bars for the rest of his life.
He also started to show his true self today when his voice got louder at the judge. I don’t think he can stand being admonished by a female judge to be quite honest. I think he did this because he was very angry and saw the parade and all the happinesses and because “whoa is me” felt in the moment he needed to ruin all those peoples happiness and drive right thru the parade. He could have pressed the brakes at any time. He chose not to. Seeing the damage of the car realizing most of it was caused by hitting human beings I am saddened.

Unfortunately any of the usual consequences will only serve to further delay the process and provide better grounds for appeals.
This judge knows what she’s doing and is doing the best she can under the circumstances. It’s extremely frustrating to watch (can’t imagine actually being there or being someone who was personally effected). But in the end none of DB’s antics will ever matter to anyone ever again.
She's doing everything she can to softball this case so that there's absolutely no grounds for overturn on appeal

She can make sure his rights are upheld and so to prevent a mistral, appeals, etc., and still uphold the integrity of that court room, herself, and respect the deceased family members and injured!! She won’t even stick to her word/follow up by removing him from the court room as she says..instead she begs and pleads with him! 🤦🏻♀️ Not okay and no other judge would allow it to go this far.
This judge is almost Saint like in her ability to maintain her composure & patience whilst dealing with this man.

All his pontificating/ NARCISSISM, ego, lecturing, intimidation, anger, arrogance, thinking he's schooling/ smartest man in the courtroom; ignorance, gaslighting, interrupting, stupidity, lying AND disrespect; Attempts to control..... Where did this get him. He was sentenced to 1 of the longest jail sentences you'll ever see. 1,000+ years. He portrayed so much confidence & arrogance throughout the proceedings, thinking that there'd be a mistrial, delay, adjournment, etc. What a difference there was during the readings of the verdicts. All the arrogance, confidence, ego was gone; Wind was out of his sails. Saying it's 'not going to work'. How'd your courtroom performance work out for you??
I think the judge showed remarkable restraint by not shouting " sit down and STFU"repeately .

And she’s STILL making excuses for him. She blames his evil actions on mental illness and that he’s not aware of what he’s doing in the moment.
