That first judge getting so mad at the "children" comment, proves the point the lawyer was making. EXACTLY THE POINT!!!
Actually a really good point lol. She completely misunderstood what he said. However that defense team was horrible in their conduct throughout trial. So im sure it was building up in her.

@@Snap-Time That’s not what happened nor what was even said in this video. Judges are not “forced to resign” except by the Florida Bar, which as mentioned, a censure/reprimand didn’t get the chance to occur because she resigned prior to that happening.

No, it's worse. The pilot and the passenger share the same fate. I think it's more like a movie where the pilot has a heart attack and a passenger with no training tries to land the plane with instructions from the ground. Yeah, it's like getting into an argument with ground control.

Years ago, I challenged a speeding ticket in court. Before I could finish my presentation, provide evidence, etc., the judge cut me off, said I was done, ordered me to pay the fine or go to jail. I paid, left the courthouse, and the next week filed a complaint with the judicial fitness commission in Oregon. Eventually, the judge was suspended without pay for a month.

some of these cases are huge examples of just how lacking our justice system has grown. political or other ideological biases have no place in the court room.
Political judges and prosecutors are nothing new. Their campaigns have been funded by political caucuses forever.
Yeah it amazing people don’t see the bias the judge held in the rittenhouse trial, it was absolutely disgusting to watch. But people don’t care because their own personal bias is the only reason they cared so much about rittenhouse being made a pariah In the first place.

@@Matthew-Anthony He was innocent but I think a trial was probably justified to work out if he really did fear for his life and to work out why he really went to the area that day. I think because he said he went to protect businesses armed it could be concluded that he intended to shoot someone that day regardless of the circumstances and that he was opposed to the protesters ideologically so it could be construed that he wanted to kill them for that reason. Then there was the fact he was underaged to carry that gun and came from out of state. They probably should have put him on trial for different charges.
The government really does not like vigilantes as they aren't trained and stuff like this happens.

Judge Darrow showed a GREAT deal of restraint during Darrell Brooks tantrums, i applaud her! She endured all of that disruption, time wasting and insults so that he had less chance on any appeal. To be as disrespected as she, prosecution, witnesses and family members of victims was just showed his lack of value for human life and common decency!!!

I have NEVER seen so much patience in a person as I did with the judge in the parade killing. She had an insane amount of professionalism.
I watched it live. She wasn't patient, she was weak and emotional. She allowed Darrell Brooks to run her court room. She would send him to the other court room then bring him right back in. She made a mockery of the court and victims' families. NO Male judge would have done that.
@@chiefkyle1098 I watched it live too. There is a thing called due process. She was legally required to let him try to make his case since he was representing himself. It is required of her or any other judge. A man would’ve had to do the same thing, he just would’ve lost his temper and yelled more, which would put the case in jeopardy of being a mistrial.

Yes, she tried to be open and let him shovel the dirt on himself but time after time it was “I’m warning you, this is the last time, THIS is the last time…If you say one more thing..” over and over. The second time should’ve been it. He cursed her he threatened her he’d glare and slam things. It was too much. It was impossible to watch. She’d start every day with warnings that he’d disobey the moment he spoke. Any reasonable judge would’ve warned once maybe twice then booted him. He was clearly unstable trying to threaten and scare the woman.

Those sanctions literally had me laughing out loud to a point where my partner asked what was so funny (I'm listening on earbuds). I'm a pretty good writer and although I have a degree in a scientific field, I often counted on any writing assignment as an easy A and a way to boost my grade points. So as soon as he said the topic of the paper, but for a crazy 17 pages, I immediately thought to discuss it for that long I would include all professions that interact in the courtroom. So I think the essay would get me in trouble as I would most certainly have to include the professionalism of judges, as well, and the judge may take that as a swipe at them. But seriously......10 major and 10 minor sources to site? HAHAHAHA I'd have offered to double the fine!!!

Where did he threaten her children? He said someone said something about his kids. She said she didn’t remember that. He said well if it was your children you’d remember that.
He didn't threaten them he should've never brought them up. Completely inappropriate and as she said the people in rows as well as the defendent wouldn't know she was a mother but by telling them that you potentially put them in danger.

@@JohnSmith-pj6wb The defense side was rude throughout the entire thing, primarily sticking to flipping the bird at the prosecuting side and the victims but also made remarks that would have made a grown man beat them to within an inch of their lives due to how bad some of them were. That case was of a child killer and the moment the defense lawyer brought up that line about if she had/has children she decided enough was enough and brought the hammer down on the lawyer, he had ZERO right to even insinuate that in a court setting.
"On June 2, 2023, the Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission found that Scherer violated many rules governing judicial conduct during Cruz's trial. Scherer "unduly chastised" public defender Melisa McNeill and her team, wrongly accused one Cruz attorney of threatening her child, and improperly embraced members of the prosecution team after the trial's conclusion. The Commission recommended a public reprimand for Scherer.[12] The public reprimand was issued the next month."

I tried yelling to my teacher that she was out of order when she told me to stop whispering back and forth with my friend. THANKFULLY she went into momentary shock then started cracking up. I was in first grade. My next 3 years there she'd smile and nod and say "Your Honor" every time I walked by her class. 😂😂😂

The Brooks Trial is proof that judges, despite the defendant's behavior, go mostly above and beyond to ensure that the defendant receives a completely fair trial and that at a cases conclusion, there is close to NILL grounds for an appeal.

The prosecutor who questioned Kyle Rittenhouse on his silence after being arrested, was amazing to see. Almost everyone knows that while being arrested, "YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT".

That Judge for the Nikolas Cruz trial had very poor relations with everyone involved with the trial. She always was arguing with them.

She’s the worst judge ever. Over emotional, irrational and the exact opposite of judicial. It’s hard for a judge to make you feel for the defense of a school shooter.

The brooks trial must have been incredible frustrating for everyone else involved other than the defendant. I know we all understand why but how people didn’t crack the shits is beyond me.
The mfer watched a couple of Law & Order episodes, remembered a couple of big words and thought he could go toe to toe with the law. Judge put him in his place quick lol.
I agree! I watched the entire trial and so many times I wanted to just grab Brooks and shake him. He was so disrespectful it was absolutely infuriating. I can't imagine if my parents or children had been hurt by him then having to listen to his stupidity. Also, equally infuriating was the fact that he was out on bond for a very similar crime just weeks earlier.

Ok, say what you want about that POS’s defense team, the bizarre way they acted, and the the disrespectful attitude they held towards the prosecution and even some of the families of the victims at times, but when he simply said “Judge, i think if they had brought YOUR children into this, you might have remembered..”
For the judge to then FREAK out, and act like he just “threatened” her children, is INCREDIBLE. She wouldnt even TOLERATE the very mentioning of the phrase “your children” in reference to herself, but when its aimed at the defense attorney, she doesnt say JACK S, doesn’t care, it didn’t matter AT ALL to her.
That whole interaction makes her look VERY biased if you’re able to watch it with an unbiased eye yourself.
In NO WAY did he “threaten her children” as she tried to imply while she was shaming him.

I just can't get over this first judge. Dude says he doesn't appreciate the comments about his children. Judge doesn't care. He says she'd care if they were talking about her children. Her response: "How dare you bring up my children!"

She said she didn’t remember ever mentioning his children. Our system is screwed up because it’s all about being nice to the criminals. And then people complain when criminals are let out of jail or charges dismissed.

The defense was acting horribly the entire trial, including joking around, laughing, and flipping off the court, all caught on video. Let's not forget that he killed multiple children. She had enough of their disrespect to the court and the victims.

The lawyer wasn't at all threatening that judges children. He was just making a point/example after she just was blowing him off. Saying he knows what he heard and if it was said about her children, how she wouldn't forget then which is true. The judge was out of line in that circumstance.

#1 - Judge was way out of line. The attorney didn't say anything remotely like a threat toward her children. His words started out to be something to the effect of, "If it was your children that someone brought up like the other side did, you would be upset." Then, somewhat ironically, she went nuts even though her children were NOT spoken of in any negative way, let alone was no threat directed at her children. That reeked of a judge putting on show because she knew it was on TV.
How does it work when for example, Alex Jones is ordered to pay such obscene amounts of money that he doesnt' have? Does he spend his life now working and paying it all to these families? How much does this judgment actually hurt him? For example OJ owes the families millions, but he still collects his NFL pension which is six figures, lives in a mansion, and lives leisurely where it appears money still isnt' an object to worry about for him. So how are these cases actually paid out and resolved?

Brooks is really the worst case of Dunning-Kruger ever. That's what happens if someone considers himself much smarter than he actually is. So glad that they still managed to get the trial through and sentence him.

It still makes me mad that someone lied to get on the jury, said yes, that they could give someone the death penalty if that is what is needed. Then says, sorry I just couldn’t do it. Even though the evidence supports that.
The judge who refused $1,000 in lieu of the 17 page essay is an amazing man. He wasn't looking for a quick fix and genuinely wanted that lawyer to truly understand his point and learn from that experience. It would've been in the state's best interest to collect that $1,000 instead, but he did what he felt was fair and just. Very admirable to have a judge with so much honor and integrity, and I do hope that lawyer learned despite his older age.

In the first situation, he was upset someone brought his kids into it. The judge dismissed his feelings but when her kids were brought into it, she freaked out. Maybe there was more to it but it seemed more to prove his point.

The first judge, a lady, is the opposite of how good judges conduct themselves. Raising her voice, getting personal, telling him to go sit there like he was a kid.
