Hey great Video and I'd live it if you could "Send build plans" 😃 I Loooove your ceiling and home theater its so cool!! Thank you
Ps: I have commented just now on your Video 1 time so this is my secomd time commenting 🙈 just saying not to make confusion 😃😊
Also what thickness of MDF did you use? I want to use MDF asnit ist light but durable enough to use.. I am thinking about buying 3mm thickness and use the method you showed here with the 2x4s and glue and screw them in place..
Seeing how much time I spend on the toilet I’m thinking of doing this in our bathroom 🤔
Beautiful idea but sounds draining. 😂
Please start incorporating high fiber into your diet. It has changed my life
Me too! (As I watch while on toilet)
Lmao!!
Im on the toilet reading your comment.👀🤦🏿♀️
Outstanding work!
this is one of the cleanes home theaters i ever saw
I learned a lot of great ideas for my star ceiling, when I actually get there... 6 months out still I'm sure. Thank you for the video.
You are a fantastic story teller. Great work 👍🏼
It's magnificent but the blue lights. Especially, how you hide the AC is marvelous.
The dangling style I definitely like
Amazing job and great video. Enjoyed watching! The fiber optics is next level stuff, attention to the details. Love this!
Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
So much work but honestly these starry ceilings is one of the nicest mods anyone can do to their home theaters. Beautiful stuff!
This is amazing thank you, Send Build Plans !
Dude! Thanks about 3-4 months ago I started building an outdoor movie theater in my back yard on a budget based upon your videos. Because of HOA I could only build 12x12 from the ground up (not perfect) also, your updated video I built my first panel for the star ceiling for my home theater shed. Furthermore, I hate sheet rock it sucks my home theater shed is still a work in progress, maybe I will post pictures later once again thanks for the inspiration keep up the good work.
Love to see some photos of your theater! : )
Great idea on adding another star panel looks amazing keep up the good work 😃
Absolutely stunning. Amazing Job!
Thank you Hexla
Great job man. It turned out very nice. Btw great trick with projecting the image on the panels and marking them out.
It looks great. The only thing I'd change is to diffuse the LED strips to finish it off.
Sooo pleasing to look at, deff worth all work done‼️
Ambiance I love this word. Lightning is capable of doing wonders to an environment and a person’s mood❣️
I want DIY Fiber Optic Star Ceiling. I started planning on building one for my home theater about a month or so ago. I love your idea of using magnets to hold the panels up!! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome! Excited for you have one of your own.
Attching the panels via magnet was brilliant, bravo. love that idea.
Thank you!
That's cool. I love it. Looks nice. Great job!!!
i LOVE the dangling fiber
Beautiful work, keep going, love every second of your Videos 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much 😀
I do this for a living for a company and they are a pretty fun project especially when you start adding galaxies, planets and stuff like that or a shooting star across the panels. Also we use fibreglass sheets with black fabric wrapped on top. But that’s specifically for sound absorption.
That sounds awesome! I’d love to get into this line of work, would you be so kind as to tell me the name of the company you work for?
@@DarkMatterExists yeah pro acoustic designs. We are only in Toronto tho.
I want DIY Fiber Optic Star Ceiling
Awesome effort. Your project directed me in a much better direction on both the panel design and star construction. Well done.
Absolutely awesome Love it
That room is so dope! I wish a had a lot of money so i can DIY all that thing on my room
Is so hard to be poor
Hope you make more like this video is so satisfying to watch
More power and God Bless mate
that was AMAZING! thanks for making my day better! you are a person worth following!
Thank you!
this is such a great video i love how it turned out and loved watching the build process. Also congratulations on over 50k subs and over 5 mil views on the shed vid. it’s so cool to see your channel grow. ManShed up next!!
Thank you John! Always appreciate your feedback and support.
Very cool! I'm sure threading all those fibers was...the most boring thing to do, but man, the end result was so worth it!
Seriously, very cool. Not just the Star ceiling, the whole theatre in a shed is epic!
Thank you! We sure do enjoy it.
Absolutely love it.
Thanks for sharing again. Great stuff. Curious on how you added safety tethers to each panel. Was it just a tether on each corner that you somehow fastened to panel and ceiling?
I too am afraid if I do something similar with the star ceiling that the magnets could fail and get dislodged for any reason. Thanks!
THAT IS " THE " MOST FANTASTIC IDEA I HAVE EVER SEEN !!!!! IMAGINE WATCHING A FULL ON STARWARS BATTLE OR SPACE FLIGHT WOULD BE IMMENSE.. AT FIRST YOU HAD THE OPTICS IN LONG THREAD. IS THERE A WAY OF MECHANICALLY DROPPING THEM FOR UNDERWATER SCENES, LIKE " AVATAR " OR " " PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN " VERY VERY NICE THOUGH !!!!
Big Brain in Effect.Awesome work
😂 Thanks Wally
Love your work
Looking amazing!! 🙌🙌🙌 Nice theater seats, btw :)
Thank you! Only the best for my theater. Love them!
Very cool! Good job!
This is so dope , love the use of space
Thank you!
Looks super nice! Gj
That really does look beautiful.
thank you very much!
Excellent work. I will try to make a similar one. It is an inspiration for me.
i’ve always wanted to do this!
Do it!
Nicely done, gentlemen! Looks amazing! Next shed should feature some home arcade cabinets, and ceiling AND walls done with star panels. :)
This looks incredible
Thank you!
Dude that is super cool
Well done
thank you!
Hi, love your video, totally inspired by you.
We expecting for first baby in January and I’d like to do something similar (not dark but to have the “starts” sine in the night. Can you please share your work plan? You mentioned that you’ll add but I couldn’t find.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
I did mine by simply installing led lights above the drywall and then drilling different size holes. Looks fantastic and saved a ton of money and I don’t have a light emitter that will eventually break and tons of cables.
That is a creative way of doing it. How do you get the stars to twinkle or be uniform in brightness?
I mean... that works but like.. if you have any bugs in your house that'll be their room now not yours. The more places they have to the hide the more it becomes theirs snd less yours
If you have a pitched roof put a projector above the ceiling ? A few stuck pixels wouldn't matter. Don't blame me if it overheats.
I'm hooked, I have to do this now
good job man !
Oh my God. I've been looking for something like this for 2 months now.
Thanks
great job. i liked you guys.
That’s so cool bro thanks for posting this video
No problem 👍
Very cool, Michael! I love how it turned out. Do you ever use the multicolor options for the stars?
I have a couple of times but 99% of the time it just stays on the white is that is the most natural looking. I thought I would use the multicolor a lot more but it just never feels right. Thanks for watching!
Man! You were awesome in Scooby-Doo!!!
Dude love your videos ! Nice 👍
This is bad ass!!!!
This is a really cool idea. The only problem I see with it is it wouldn't be fun to have to walk outside of the house to watch tv or a movie, especially if you just had to go to the bathroom while watching. I also live someplace where it can get really cold in the winter, making that walk even less fun.
Bravo
Cool thanks😊
very nice. great ideas.
Hello Michael nice job .. can you tell me pls what kind of convertor you use and which kind of optic fiber and connectors as well .. i need to fix one in my room . Cheers!
excellent .
I'd love to see these build plans!
Send build plans!! This is next level bro, looking to do exactly this and would love the support. Great work
Nice
Hi, i'm looking to make a star ceiling myself, I tried doing it once with static fairy lights attached to the optical fiber that went through a board. This time around I'm hoping to go for a light engine. in your experience, does the light engine tend to get hot? does it require any kind of ventillations to make the whole setup less hazardous?
this is awesome
thank you Romain!
@@MANSHED yea no problem
Send build plans ...awesome build, looking to put this up in our house
I absolutely love the way you broke it down and explained the process of doing this. It makes it very straightforward to follow, and I look forward to doing something similar myself. My one question/concern though, could the fiber optics directly covering that vent get damaged when the heat is on? Likewise, could that fabric being that close to it be a fire hazard?
I have since removed the fibers and fabric from directly under the Ceiling unit to keep good airflow and not be any kind of hazard.
Can the fibre optics swirl? A big appeal of old ones using colour wheels was that effect. Seeing your projector made me think how epic it would be to use a projector as a fibre optic light source.
Good job 👍🏻 i think will be more better if two different colors in the same time
Out of curiosity, that last panel with just the fabric and no mdf. Could you have done that for the whole ceiling? Seems like it would be lighter, and no need to drill holes.
One heck of a brother-in-law
Hey first and foremost: "Send build plans" and also: great Video!! I Plan to do this in my living room and make it a home/ theater/ type Deal with big screen and surround sound and I have wanted to do the Star ceiling for sooooo Long!! And I will do it once I have finished decorating my New "Flat" or "apartment" 😃😃😃
Bro. Sick theatre room. I want one
Thanks 🙏
I wish I had those in my house.
🌟 Fantastic!!!! But just one question: What is the type of this circular magnetic? what size did you use? and where to buy? I ask because there is a wide variety and I would like to know which is the best and safest!
Thank youuuu so much for sharing!🙌
So cool. I want DIY fiber optic ceiling!
I don’t know if you’re allowed to win twice but I have you in the running for them! Lol 😂
amazing
👋 This looks amazing!!! Im planing it to, the fiber Cable you have are very usefull!! Thanks for the Video. I want DIY Fiber Optic Star Ceiling
Awesome! Thank you!
Fabulous, thanks for sharing. I'd genuinely love to know how long that took you. This looks so much nicer than the pre-done panels, I'd just like to know what I am getting myself in for! 🙂
I bet its like dwo days of work if you know what to do
Super nice 👍🏻🍺
That is amazing. Very nicely done
I was about I build this in my mancave I was going hang it with hooks but I like your magnet idea. Question though. The boards you put into the ceiling did you screw them into studs or just use anchors?
Into studs for sure.
Very cool video, very cool result!!
I watched it so many times already to copy (please forgive me) some of your ideas!
What I am struggling with is the extension cords... I cannot find any online. Do you have a recommendation? I would appreciate it 😊
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
Hi pls how did you connect your light engine to the power in your house am planing on having mine installed very soon
Soooo awesome
Thanks
so cool
for a star field cut them, obviously. Leaving them long could work if you were doing an ocean theme room then you could leave them long as Jelly Fish tentacles
Wondering will the heat coming out the unit mess up the fabric?
My idea was to put a Stella scope on the floor then drill through each projected star on my ceiling That way u recreate an actual segment of the night sky but I have no idea on how to create what looks like smoke or mist like u see in the milky way
do you think it was necessary to use the glue/silicone?
Hey michael, very awesome project. Definitely interested in tackling it. Question: where can i find that fabric? I couldn't find it on that company's website. Thanks!
Love the ceiling! Roughly how much does one of those panels weigh?
Looks amazing! How many sqft in total were your panels and did the 800 lights cover all of them?
the moment i saw the dangling fibers i instantly pictured the Life Tree or w/e from Avatar! next build idea?
Nice! Wish i had your charisma to make a better video of my home theater.
Do you have a rough cost of this ceiling?
sick setup! You're inspiring! Now I have something else to add to my bucket list.
I think it would be cool to have a workspace/shed/more of a mini-warehouse really... where you can literally build anything... From C&C machines, to 3D printers, to Wood or metal working, welding. Heck even a forge. That'd be my dream space. What would I use it for? To build anything imaginable, from cosplay/Halloween costumes, to tables, desks, cabinets, artistic designs and patterns, tools, weapons, props, computer/mechanical engineering type stuff for innovating/advancing current tech... I'd even have a section for milling my own lumber, treating it... storing it... Oooo and can't forget a section for glass blowing.
I'd call it the, "Humanity's Last Hope" Shed.
Pretty sure it'd cost somewhere in the ballpark of 1-3 million UDS lol.
Hi can you put the black cloth link where we can buy it would be great help. Thanks
Ok best demo ever..So no screws to hang ceiling up,just magnates correct? Also what was ur tether u did?? Where can I buy plans
