I certainly agree with Youthman's comments below. Without a doubt, one of the best video's I've seen; a great home theater! I really like that you work with DIY'ers. So many of the higher end components seem they have to be done by 'Installers' and only available through them; and quite frankly, I can't stand that! I love doing stuff myself. This is about $100k to $120k install, the hardware alone is $50-60k, plus all the labor and construction. Amazing setup. The only problem is this doesn't add that amount to the value of your home so you better be in your forever home if you want to make this investment, but if you can afford this then you don't care about that anyways.
People always seem to miss that part. Same applies to a pool and pole barn. To a select crowd, they are great additions. To others, they are a waste of space.

This is literally my dream. I’ve always wanted to put a theater in my house, this looks perfect. I’m 16 years old right now but hopefully when I’m older I’ll be able to afford a theater in my house!
This was a great video. I'm in the process of building a house here in TX that will have an approximately equivalent sized theater room (11' x 21', wired for 5.2.4) and I've been watching every home theater design and speaker review video RUclips has (including yours) trying to figure out how I'm going to design the room and what kind of system I'm going to put in there. I've never heard about these JBL Synthesis speakers, but I feel like these check all of the boxes for what I was looking for, so I will definitely be keeping these on my radar. It was between a high end in-wall/in-ceiling system like this, or some sweet audiophile type towers like the Focal Aria with the in-wall/ceiling versions for surrounds and Atmos. I really like the idea of having everything hidden in a theater room though. I'm also a DIY'er, so I love that you guys show the whole room build process as I'm planning on doing something very similar with my room. I've been thinking everyday about how I'm going to design the room and I think this one is going to be what I try to emulate. Keep up the good work.
We appreciate the kind words! JBL Synthesis speakers are impossible to beat in a home theater application. Once you hear the difference the compression drivers make in terms of performance and dynamics you will never go back! If you do end up going with box speakers, keep in mind that gloss colors will be very prone to reflection from the screen so you will want to take this into consideration as you choose your finish and determine your placement. @@AudioAdvice im in an appartement. My room 11ftx11ft. I curently have a 75in Qled, bose acoustimass 10 series v, 24 2in sound proof foam at ear level spaced out and the back "wall"(3windows) is a giant Curtain( 3 different layers). If i had a house i'd want something like what you've shown here. I just can't go crazy here for the neighbors sake lol.
Just beautiful, wow. Absolutely love the attention to detail; everything is very well thought out and taken into consideration, and not to mention, it all LOOKS really clean and great. I really love how the lounge in the back is a smaller extension of the theatre with that tv. Excellent set up and video!! 👍🏾
Great video! You guys did a solid job!! Great AV equipment! Please mention the brand name of the screen, and the brand and specs of the projector. Ohh and consider showing us the rack setup and connections! Is there any surge protection for the rack? Or power cleaning?? Also what is controlling the system? Is it the harmony remote? Would be able to give a ball park figure cost for a setup like this?
I would really like to make a home theater in my house, but unfortunatly I live in a country where we still dont have accessibility to most of companies.
Nicely done AA! A very attractive room. Are the forward side SCL-7s wides or additional side surrounds? Very nice job on acoustic design/treatments. Very nice choice on speakers for this room, including the four subs and their placement. Thumbs up on Synthesis! "New" adjoining media/fun room is excellent! Food for thought for your next design: The height of the aft side SCL-7s are extremely close to the nearest seats (outboard) because they are placed so low. The law of inverse proportions will make those two seats extremely loud compared to the middle, and highly distracting. Yes, it is popular for HT surrounds to be at ear level, but...if we are emulating a fine cinema or mixing/dubbing stage, the vertical angle to surrounds is about 30 degrees up from level...and we can't beat physics on the law of inverse proportion without changing distance. Placing those side SCL-7s higher and in horizontal orientation (with the waveguide oriented properly/downward) covers the row better and puts some distance away from the outboard seats, making them far less distracting. This would be an "easy" change since you webbed the pre-wire. The back SCL-7s are so low as to not clear the back row seat backs (or pony wall) therefore no direct sound to ears from those. They could easily go higher and toward the corners (to avoid the acoustic treatments) and cover the room...or even better, go with them in the ceiling, waveguides aimed into the room. You guys are doing a great job. Keep it coming.
This video was truly amazing, the fact that you had the whole build, setup, and even a complete breakdown on what you did and how everything works and why is amazing. Keep up the great content man! Also if you don't mind me asking, how did you get started working in this type of area? How did you learn all the information about the audio and technical components? it's very interesting to me.
This is great, love the gear rack in the "other" room, that's gonna through a lot of heat and make noise, so that's usually overlooked.... however, you mentioned that the user can change the temp in the room, but there's no HVAC vents? I didn't see you install any in the time lapse? I just see a mini split over the door. Was ventilation an afterthought in this design or was the vent a source of sound bleeding? that is, would the sound travel through the vents and into other areas of the house? What are you doing about vibration control? Did you sound proof more than just using rockwool in the walls? did you double up on the sheetrock? One issue I find is when I'm watching a movie in a room like this, is the sound just bleeds out and vibrates and shakes the rest of the house and annoys other family members who might be sleeping. Part of the enjoyment of a room like this is that you can go watch a movie at full volume and not disturb the other family members, if you know what I mean. The best design for this that i've seen was a guy who designed a room inside a room. You would have to open two sets of doors to get in, but the benefit was that he had full air ventilation and his own hvac zone, and there was no sound leak or vibration even at full volume.
Thanks for watching. The insulation worked out great. The homeowner tells us he can play things as loud as he wants while the family sleeps quietly nearby. There is a split system which was done that way on purpose
You are 110% right. We see so many rooms with tons of money spent on the gear and zero on the acoustic treatment and we feel proper acoustic treatment is the most important component. Thank you for watching!
Great question. To prevent any issues we have several large silica gel packets sitting inside the window casing to prevent any moisture buildup. The window is also accessible from the outside so that these can be changed out as needed. Thanks for watching!

Tbh as awesome as a home cinema is, the feeling of going to the cinema, buying tickets and everything is what makes cinema so good for me. I would rather save the 100k, buy a nice car and go to the cinema all the time :D
@@basil5863 I agree, walking in and smelling the popcorn is part of the experience. If I was rich enough I'd have a $100k home theater but still go to theaters for the experience and of course for new movies you can't watch anywhere else.
@@basil5863 The way streaming services have access to new film releases, cinema attendance will only decrease further and put more of them it of business.
I designed my room with a heavy emphasis on two channel music. I’m running an SDP-53 and aerial acoustics speakers, 7T and 7CC across the front. Power is by Musical Fidelity, Subs by REL and Martin Logan, five total, all sealed. Best of both worlds.

I agree after years of trying to use high end speakers in my home theater I tried some pro audio speakers. I remember seeing the blue man group in vegas and researched what the sound system they used was as the sound was great. They used D&B Audiotechnik. I outfitted my theater with these speakers and sure they were massive overkill for the size, but WOW how good they sound.

Glad you liked it and thanks for watching!
Gorgeous theater!
Thank you!
I've always enjoyed the bass aspect of a movie theater and how it sounds. Love the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is what I would want in my dream home!
Glad you liked it
Great video!
Food for thought for your next design:
The height of the aft side SCL-7s are extremely close to the nearest seats (outboard) because they are placed so low.
Keep it coming.
amazing set up.
do the consoles in the racks have much ventilation? would they overheat being crammed in like that?
There is a temperature sensor in the rack that will turn on fans to cool it if it gets too hot.
Glad you liked it! Years of experience. Thanks for watching
Very very impressive, you guys! You all did an amazing job!
Thank you so much!
Hola de donde eres me puedes saludar me gustaria conocerte saludos
Amazing home theater. Beautifully built and integrated with the game room too.
Glad you like it!
Home Theater top das galáxias, muito bom mesmo. Não sabia que a JBL fabricava amplificadores.
Thanks for watching!
Goals. Absolute goals.
Just beautiful work - well done!!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Great focus on acoustic treatment of the room. That is something that tends to over looked or not highly focused on with many DIY home theaters.
You are 110% right. We see so many rooms with tons of money spent on the gear and zero on the acoustic treatment and we feel proper acoustic treatment is the most important component. Thank you for watching!
Isn’t the cover on the window going to be a problem with moisture long term?
Great question. To prevent any issues we have several large silica gel packets sitting inside the window casing to prevent any moisture buildup. The window is also accessible from the outside so that these can be changed out as needed. Thanks for watching!

Parabéns, pelo belo trabalho.
Excelente projeto de áudio.
I can't afford $100K until then I'll settle for $10 at the movie theatre
If you went to the movies twice a week it would take you over 95 years to spend $100k on tickets too.
@@zackj997 Having your own home theater is priceless.
@@basil5863 The way streaming services have access to new film releases, cinema attendance will only decrease further and put more of them it of business.
The room costs more than my house most likely.
The professionalism deserves applause. Great presentation sir. More than the setup I like the presenter 👍🙂
Thank you kindly
I designed my room with a heavy emphasis on two channel music. I’m running an SDP-53 and aerial acoustics speakers, 7T and 7CC across the front. Power is by Musical Fidelity, Subs by REL and Martin Logan, five total, all sealed. Best of both worlds.
That is an awesome system! Thanks for sharing
Had the perfect room with exposed walls to build it.
We love starting with a blank canvas! When moving, the homeowner looked specifically for a house that had a rectangular room above the garage to allow them to build out their dream theater. We were just excited to be a part of creating such an amazing space that their family can enjoy for many years to come! Thanks for watching!!
It’s still funny how American houses are built
normally don't watch random recommended YT vids but this caught my eye. incredible job and cant believe you're right here in raleigh. 👍
Thanks! Yes, we have been in business 44 years in Raleigh and have a Charlotte NC location as well. Please drop by our store on Glenwood Ave, we have some great sound rooms and home theaters, Open Tues-Fri 10-7 and Sat 10-6
This is what should be used when people say Next Level! This is the room I want when I grow up, I'm 44 so time is running out!

Paradise for Cinema Lovers. 🎥🎞️🖤
Thank you! We agree
I have been lucky enough to listen to a JBL synthesis system both at Cedia as well as the Harmon facility in Northridge California and it's the real deal. Nothing short of astounding!
That's so cool! Thanks for sharing and for watching our video.
Damn! So cool to see what building an ultimate super premium home theater looks like.
Thank you very much!
I absolutely love the job you did building this home theater.
Great job!!!
Thanks for watching!
You can Never ever hear it the way it supposed to on you tube.., wish we was there!! Mahalo for sharing!!
Yes, it is virtually impossible to tell as you are listening to the micrphone and your own speakers along with all the YT compression. Thanks for watching and commenting
Awesome video Scott!
Thanks, Jesse!
This is a beautiful job, if i had the money these are definitely the people i would want doing my install.
Thank you
This is IMMENSELY impressively well done in literally every way. But no matter what, I cannot stop thinking about how much this whole setup had to have cost!
Thanks very much!
Extraordinaria hometheatre congratulacion from CHILE cuidence y nuevamente FELICITACIONES por el anboxing teatrocine
