Nice work! Refreshing to see an audio desk with clean cable management, I've seen so many videos that are essentially just "how to hide three power cables".. I'm running a triple computer KVM rig and this is the first video I've seen that actually handles a good amount of cabling

Congratulations on achieving one of the cleanest setups I've ever seen. I fully plan on incorporating some of these ideas into my current setup, assuming I ever get done refinishing the desk top itself. Earned my sub easily.
It looks nice, the compromise - for me - would be how (relatively) difficult it is to alter the setup when needed, which may be never for some, but is often for me.
I thought I was crazy about my cables and keeping them clean and out the way this is on another level. I recently got a monitor stand like this one and reinstalled it x3 to redo my cables cleaner and the one I have it have open hole ports at base where you had to drill holes.

That custom DIY Monitor stand setup is Top Tier. I’m going to have to replicate it along with those custom cables. The regular cables stick out so much. I have the Gator Frameworks Desktop Clamp-on Studio Monitor Stands and they’re ok, but it has such a wide and narrow depth baseplate my speakers are hanging off. Thanks for the idea! You the man! Haha

THANK YOU for making this video, showing your level of detail and care into your workspace - it’s so helpful as I continue to build my space! Hope to drop some videos in the next 6 months 🙌🏾
For speaker mounts you can use cheap monitor arms. Most of them have enough adjustability so the monitor mounting bit can be rotated 90degrees flat so you can place your speaker on top of it. So you don't need to mount speakers with screws from the back like you do with monitors. Just screw some plywood to the vesa mounts and put the speaker on top of it. Much better than screwing your speaker stands into the desk with solid unadjustable mounts. You can also tilt your speakers to any angle and it holds the angle. It won't collapse or give out unless you really mess up your positioning where you locate the vesa mount. Then it is easy to add all sorts of connectivity through the speaker arms as well.
Brutally thorough and amazingly executed, hats off my man. At the risk of being 'that guy', your speakers look too far apart (hard to tell from video footage), and wayyyy too toed-in (feelin' more confident on this assessment), they look like they're converging halfway between you & your screen. If so, and if you're down for taking the unsolicited advice of someone who designs spendy analog gear, try angling the speakers in so that they point at & converge just behind your ears. Shortcut: when you point your head forward and pan your eyes to look at either speaker, you won't see their inner sides, they're parallel to your gaze. Better yet, try not toe-ing them in at all, or just a smidge, ribbons usually have very wide dispersion. There's no way to know what's ideal, all of this is extremely room- and setup-dependent. That desk is creating hella boundary interference, so imaging is compromised in any scenario, but... with 2 mins of experimenting you might be able to notch your acoustic response up a level.
Those ports on the stand are for USB ports. I have a double arm version of what you've got (sort of) and there are instructions on how to install a USB hub into the base of the mount. I'd also recommend using a hub for your laptop, it can be tucked away but give you access to loads of different I/O. Was the best thing I bought for my laptop.
Looks great man. The benq light is great but then again quite pricey and most monitors aren't that thick to begin with. I'll definitely make my next setup look as clean as this one but with an electric adjustable standing desk.
Yep, that monitor is a thick boy. I have to say that I’m quite glad I got the hand crank desk - I use it so little that I’m happy I spend the money elsewhere 😂
Thanks for the tips on how to keep all the cables tidy! Since covid days I have been working from home 90-100% of the time except some outings and rare customer meetings. So I recently purchased nice table top (light colored oak desktop) and powerful electric powered legs. It's been amazing actually as far as the desk itself. I was initially worried about electric powered legs may break down in future, but it comes with a 5 year warranty and it's a popular brand (high ratings) so I gave it a go, and I have been happy ever since. I am now on the hunt for a great monitor arm (in white color as the theme is white colored legs and oak desk top). I am in high tech (software industry) so most of my work is with PC. So electric powered desk that can be raised and lowered easily was a must for me. Now my neck and shoulder pain I used to get when I didn't stand up throughout the day just disappeared. I really want to setup my desk now with a 4G monitor and the desktop (as I don't really need MacBook now...I use smartphone while I travel though I currently use MacBook now), so this cable setup (especially the monitor cable setup part) was quite helpful. Thank you!
This video and your details makes my OCD very, very happy. Unfortunately, I'm using a glass sit-stand desk that's really hard to attach cable management solutions onto. I managed to find some clamp-on options, but there is less flexibility. Oh well, gotta adapt to what we have!

Not sure how you were going to get those galvanised pipes to rust ha ha.. I’d turn your speakers away from the monitor a bit more so the edges of the monitor doesn’t change colours because of the magnets in the speakers.
I love the ideas you've presented for cable management. I'm planning on how I want to build my next desk, and I want to do something more than just have a cable tray.

Being in Tech since the early 90’s, spaghetti cables has been apart of life for ever. Bluetooth was a game changer by being able to nuke cables for the keyboard, mouse, printer, etc. and wireless for the internet. I’m pretty much down to power cables and the monitor cable.
This idea is so cool. Just wonder if the power cable bundle creates heat over time, that is if one decides to have this setup for an extended period of time.
Wtf...I watch your other channel for MTB and didn't even realize you had this channel until I randomly clicked on it looking for some inspiration. You're now permeating my non-MTB life!.... #subbed

Super clean, I love a focused work space. But something you left out… What is that desk lamp just to the left of your left speaker/monitor??? (Blurry on the left- Time stamp 9:47)

Thanks for sharing, my desk is an absolute mess and I too am not a naturally tidy person, ok I just kind of leave things in a pile until later which is not great in my studio. Just updated my desk setup by hanging the pc tower on the side and this video pops in my feed. Nice setup. Wouldn't work for me because my speakers are huge and I have two 34" ultrawides taking up the whole table, so I have separate speaker stands I bought from a hifi store. And yeah, having the table nice and tidy helps keep it tidy as well (i'm also a bit messy :D). Cheers!
Just ran across this vid and feel the need to complement you on a great presentation with outstanding editing. Super nice setup you have created. Thanks for the time you took to make this vid.
FUCKING awesome desk setup (excuse my language). The sexiest and cleanest one I've seen so far! Only things that could potentially be improved, if you fancy that: -LED stripes around the edges of the desk (hidden) for some nice ambient lighting and -A plant...just makes everything more cozy :)
Man, I have a monitor arm mount from another brand and for some reason I never thought that the clamp can be off center... It looks so much better the way you've done it! 👍 As to the mic cable you can always connect XLR cables together and get any length you need :)
Really impressed with how you did the speakers . Those are called floor flanges in Canada, and use gas pipe and are fairly inexpensive. I was debating to buy a live edge 1.5” thick slab like yours at Windsor Plywood. It would be a little over $500 for a 4x8’ piece after tax , and I’d have to cut it down with my festool track saw to a size I want . I’d have a difficult time drilling holes threw of for speakers thinking that I’d want to do some possible changes in the future . But sometimes you gotta commit lol
The internal cable routing is giving me similar vibes to modern bicycle builds. Such a pain in the ass if you don't put in the right amount of slack for the moving components.
Iv'e updated my PC system so many times that.... I just let the cables lay in the back by the wall for future upgrades and changes. But then again I'm a mechanical design engineer and my work office desk is cluttered with all kinds of project things. So yeah, I guess you can say that I'm not a neat freak. But sometimes I do go ahead and do a major organization spree every few years... But still clutter doesn't bother me unless it's not a totally useful clutter! Now if I build a machine then yeah. I do that very organized all the way around. So it depends what it is for me. Hahahaha! Nice clean set-up you have there!
Great video, I have IKEA's FREDDE and it gives me so much room to hide cables. On the FREDDE, I have a pc, a 3.1 sony sound system, 1 printer, 1 Hyper Quadcast mic and elgato low profile stand, few external hard disk, all kept in the best way possible with cables hidden. But I like the idea of drilling and making new options for better cable management, I have to go back and see, how I can improve. Your take on this is good and I will definitely improve my setup to make it more clean. "If you don't like to see cables, you gotta buy longer cables :-)"
For the speaker stand, what if you drilled the hole in the desk for the size of the outer width of the pipe, mounted the bottom mounting flange “upside down” and pushed it through the desk.
When i saw the Mic setup i wondered to far away and you confirmed it, adjusting with an arm kind ? .... it's nice but permanent due to the drilling in the table, i love more flexibility and clean desk
DUDE!!! that's so funny!! When I built my desk I used the SAME pipe and flange setup for my monitors. I did remove them when I got my Adams monitors because my desk isn't as wide as yours Awsome!! I'm going to check out your build video now!!CHEERS!
I did the exact same thing a couple month ago too! AND I also have the OWC... I used gorilla mounting tape.. and my biggest concern is HOW TF am I gonna get it off when I wanna make an upgrade / change... what are you gonna do man? Would love to discuss this with you...!
3M velco strips designed for hanging heavy pictures. I had a USB hub under my desk for years using those, and it NEVER fell. And if you get the kind with velcro, you can take the item off of the desk and take it with you if you need. It'll remount perfectly.
That is nice, especially for the Adam monitors, I am still to find a 90 degrees Din plug ! My problem is that when you have 4 Midi keyboards/accessories, even though they go thru a usb powered hub, you still have a lot of power bricks to connect and the cords are allways way too short to be hiden properly. But hey I will at some point have to make custom cords for all of them. In the meantime it will stay a mess :(
with the power strip below the table like this dont u use the ability to switch off power to individual components? i mean if u switch main power to the strip on, everything powers on i guess? this is one reason i have not put the power strip under the table to avoid losing the flixibility of switching on/off individual devices connected to it
Everything connected to my computer goes into standby mode or turns itself off when I remove or power down the MacBook Pro, so I haven’t had in issue, personally.
Helllooo Awesome video. I have a question, the base plate for your monitor arm where did you purchase that?? It's much cooler than the original clamp set up...

I’d have a difficult time drilling holes threw of for speakers thinking that I’d want to do some possible changes in the future . But sometimes you gotta commit lol
I have the industrial/pipe theme in my kitchen, love the look.
I never would have considered attaching the docking station under the desk - thanks for the tip!
Wow great job. Cleanest I’ve ever seen. Just wow!
The internal cable routing is giving me similar vibes to modern bicycle builds. Such a pain in the ass if you don't put in the right amount of slack for the moving components.
100%. I’ve built so many bikes over the years and definitely know the pain of improper cable measurement. Haha
This man is the KING of cable management
This cable management is godly! Nice work!
Absolutely 100% I love clean and tidy workspace great work mate
Great video, I have IKEA's FREDDE and it gives me so much room to hide cables. On the FREDDE, I have a pc, a 3.1 sony sound system, 1 printer, 1 Hyper Quadcast mic and elgato low profile stand, few external hard disk, all kept in the best way possible with cables hidden. But I like the idea of drilling and making new options for better cable management, I have to go back and see, how I can improve. Your take on this is good and I will definitely improve my setup to make it more clean. "If you don't like to see cables, you gotta buy longer cables :-)"
The Lewitt LCT 440 is honestly the most underrated microphone of all time.
For the speaker stand, what if you drilled the hole in the desk for the size of the outer width of the pipe, mounted the bottom mounting flange “upside down” and pushed it through the desk.
Oooo that would be pretty cool!
This is beautiful. I have a new desk on the way with zero management built in but this gives me hope.
Your vocals are incredible! Seriously! Awesome vid and brilliant sound
You sound so much like Jim from The Office. So clear and interesting. Nice work on the invisible cables. I got some good ideas from it.
In the meantime it will stay a mess :(
So clean... 😮💨nice upgrade!
with the power strip below the table like this dont u use the ability to switch off power to individual components? i mean if u switch main power to the strip on, everything powers on i guess? this is one reason i have not put the power strip under the table to avoid losing the flixibility of switching on/off individual devices connected to it
Everything connected to my computer goes into standby mode or turns itself off when I remove or power down the MacBook Pro, so I haven’t had in issue, personally.
"I am not naturally a tidy person" resonates so much.
First class job! That set up looks brilliantly clean. Some good tips there, well done 👏
Nice work. I'm good with just flushing the cables. I like the floating speaker look.
Yooooo, I had not idea loam ranger ran a complete separate unrelated channel. Thanks for the tips!
Those tiny cable clips are awesome. I got some last week and it fix all of my cable problems
for sticking slicion base double sided tape works quiet well
90 degree power cables for monitors! Genius! Need to get those too!
That's the finest cable management i've ever seen, incredible
That offspring reference was spot on 👌
Very nice. Typically I wouldn’t want to drill into my desks to make holes but you found a creative way.
Amazing work! Thanks for sharing!
Helllooo Awesome video. I have a question, the base plate for your monitor arm where did you purchase that?? It's much cooler than the original clamp set up...
Thanks! The clamp actually came with the arm, so it included both the clamp and bolt-through options.
