A fiber optic egg?
At least you cought the missing one BEFORE you poured the resin.
Great result. Love it. Stars at night.
As I suspected, You cannot see the optic fibers inside the resin. So next time you use black resin, put the cable tie inside the resin. It will not show in the final product.
Another great video. Just out of curiosity where did you get the stamp made?
@@mikksweeney8804 He probably made it himself 😃
Pot cam can never be boring! Pot cam is our favorite part! What an amazing idea for a project!
Thanks Susan 😊
I’ve been trying to come up with something to do with fiber optics and resin for awhile now and just the other day was wondering how I could incorporate fiber optics into a resin lightbulb mold I have. Kind of a weird coincidence you publish this video now after I’d just been thinking about it. Not sure how much it would apply to this project, but a good way to bundle fiber optics is to use a tube of black heat shrink. It holds them tightly together, instead of a single point like a zip tie where they fray out in every which way when cut, and it makes the bundle more like a rod and a lot easier to cut a nice flat condensed surface for the light to hit. The astrological signs on the black background is a really cool concept, though. Personally, I think I would’ve used either a color changing LED to make the stars change colors or a flickering tea light candle LED to make the stars twinkle. If you wanted to get really crazy, you could bundle the fibers together by sides, put black heat shrink around each individual bundle, cut them all flat, and use heat shrink to attach a color changing LED to each bundle. The black heat shrink would isolate each LED so that the light doesn’t bleed together, then wire all four LEDs together. They’ll all start the same color, and changing at similar rate, but they’ll fall out of sync with each other pretty quick and all four sides would be a different color. Would love to see another fiber optic resin idea
Thanks Mate, cool idea 👍
that was incredible. the depth of color in the light, then the brightness in the dark. very cool build
Thankyou 😊
This was really cool my friend! I can only imagine what that looked like in person. I think that if you were to cut the wire and add a dimmer to it, you might be able to make less bright at night :)
Thanks Mate! Yeah 👍
Ancient astronomers had vivid imaginations to see what they saw with a couple dots in the sky.
I saw fibre optics used in a cars roof lining for a starry sky effect. I think your take was a pretty decent effort.
Wow! Never would of thought of making constellations Brillant!
I really love this one.💖💖
Thanks Connie 😊
Oh WOW! The possibilities are endless! Please do more with fiber optics!!!!!!!!
Ben, I watch several chans that work with resin, and they are all great in their own rights, but you, sir, come up with some OUTSTANDING ideas that almost always turn out stunningly beautiful or masterclass.
Love how Ben is a genius but still makes oopsies! Turned out great.
Thanks Mate 😊
While I don’t really go for the star sign… what a great project! Also really enjoyed the old music back in your video. It’s like coming home. Thanks Ben.
That’s so cool. I’m amazed at your skill. It came out beautifully.
Thankyou 😊
The night light is beautiful! Great idea to use your families Zodiac signs. You think up the best projects. Thanks Ben
Thanks Susan 😊
Beautiful night light, would look great in any bedroom.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thankyou
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Just wow!!! What a creative idea!! 👌
Thanks Lisa 😊
What a beautiful labor of love.
Thanks for the video.
Thanks Scott
So different, fabby idea. I really like how the purple mica swirled around the fibers. I couldn't see if the weird cool face stayed. I absolutely love fiber optic, good one 👍⭐
Turned out really good.
In the past I had to mushroom the fibre optic ends for better visual, but that was 20+ years ago when LEDs were not as bright as they are now. 😊
Thanks Lina 😊👍
I don't know where you come up with all of your creative video ideas , but that is amazing..thanks for sharing your video.
I'd love to see you make a Borg Cube from Star Trek in this style, probably wouldn't be too easy and would take a lot more fibre optics than this one, but I think it would look amazing.
This. Please this
Thats bloody brilliant Ben. Really interesting to see the fiber optics. Well done !
Thankyou 😊
As the project took shape Ben I wasn't sure how it would turn out since I have no experience with optic fibers except for a Christmas tree we had that used optic fibers to light it up. The night light was a great idea and came out smashing. Well done Ben!
Thanks Bob 😊
I love it Ben! What a great idea. So many possibilities! Would love to see what you do with your leftover stands.
I hope you and yours are all safe and well with all the rain in QLD.
That was totally GENIUS my Friend. I think it's Safe to say after watching so many of your masterpieces that you are highly intelligent and extremely creative.
Thanks Paul 😊
You're so creative AND talented! I love when I get notification that you've posted another video.
Well, Ben , once again this is awesome bud. You have a coolest ideas very creative. Good job.
Thanks Mate
I actually didn't see that fiber that avoided the zip tie! XD
Also, I've always loved optic fibers! I've got three Christmas trees with them, and even a flower display that contains them, too!
This is an incredible piece you made. It looks amazing. Great job.
Cheers to my fellow Gemini.
I can say this much Ben you can come up with some of the coolest things 👍
One of my favorite so far, I love it!!!
Now...who is the cool Aquarius in the family?! :)
Thankyou! Both Nicole and I 😊
you are definitely one of the most creative creators in the resin department. Amazing job, so beautiful. I haven't dabbled in resin much, but I think this might be a contender for a first project... sadly I do not have the tools for woodworking so ill have to improvise the base.
Great Work Mr. Ben!! That’s Awesome!!
Amazing, absolutely gorgeous.
Love the music at the end, I recognize it from your videos before and it fits this project beautifully.
Utterly brilliant! I love the use of fiber optics.
So cool Ben!!! Another fantastic project 👏 👌 👍 😀
Thanks Sas
You are such a talented and loving family man. 🥰
Thanks Julie-Ann 😊
Great job, Ben. That was a brilliant idea to use your family's signs as a pattern. Take care.
Bill
Thanks Bill 😊
Hi Ben, the light is really cool. A beautiful idea. Take care
Thanks Rose
I love this💜 I'm glad it showed up on my feed this morning.
Thankyou 😊
OMG, that wood looks like marble!! Brilliant
Superb just spectacular you sir are an inspiration to many. Your style truly cannot be matched.
That came out awesome! Nice work :D
If you put a zippie tie around the cable inside the base, it'll prevent it from pulling out and messing up the led :)
Thanks Mate 👍
This would look cool on a giant sphere!
That’s another beautiful piece of art work . Keep up the amazing work . God bless you and your family and stay safe .
I ove how in these videos when it gets to the sanding part, everyone becomes the Flash. :P
This is by far your best Resin Art yet , Love it 👍
Thankyou 😊
Awesome, Ben!
Thanks Lynne 😊
Nice project and well thought out!
Well done mate 😎🇬🇧👍
Thanks Mate 😊
What a unique & creative project! Very cool.
Thanks John 😊
Hey Ben I have been waiting for your next project, I really like this one 😺, I love watching what you create 😺🏴🏴🏴❤️
Thanks Catriona 😊
Omg I love these videos I've been doing resin myself but none of it's as cool as this I would really love to see him do a project for Easter I think that would be cool
Omg it's awesome, that turned out so well Mate!!
Thanks Mate
That is the coolest thing I have ever seen.
Hey mate, I hope you've survived the flooding well, and I hope you and your family are ok!
Thanks Natalie, we’re all good thanks for asking 😊
That turned out soooo good. I love ❤ it! Your creativity never ceases to amaze me! Keep it up my friend!
Thanks Linda 😊
I’ve really wanted to try making a night light by casting EL wire (a bit like fibre obtics but the entire thing glows). Might have to try it now after seeing this!
This is pretty amazing.
Thankyou
@@BensWorx no problem man :-)
Wow, super amazing job. Love it.👏👏👏👏👏❤️💯👏👏👏
OMG IM SO GLAD YOU CAUGHT THAT
Me too! 😊
It's really cool in the dark
You did ask politely to subscribe, so that's what I'm doing right now and happily so! I just found your channel by accident while looking for new crafting ideas and after the first video I binged watched about ten of your videos so far and love what you do here, Ben. I'll bet you could make a planetarium with that idea to light up a ceiling in a bedroom, or living room even!
Thankyou! And welcome to my channel 😊
Just a Thought!!! WHAT IF you made it a SPHERE!!!!! With a LED base for a sphere! It will give it a 3D effect! Or do a globe like when youo see a satalite photo at night and see the continent lights!!! PLEASE TRY THE CHALLENGE. PS Love your work and channel
What a extraordinary idea!
I've been wanting to make a tiny little light jar out of some 5cl bottles I have, figured fibre optic would be best and this video confirmed it, my worry was it would be way too dim and wouldn't shine through the stained glass
Fantastic work. Really enjoyed watching your skills. Lovely video :)
Thankyou
Amazing job!!! The only thing I would add would be the lines in a silver paint or resin so you can see the constellations even when the light is off, but this still looks fantastic!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Samantha, great idea 😊
Wow! Such a beautiful 😍 project!
You never stop surprising me
Stunning work and what a awesome gift
Awesome outcome 💙
Thanks Kristine 😊
it turned out beautifully and really awesome video as usual
Thanks Beth 😊
I've had this idea in my mind for years. Wanted to make a wedding ring box, never got around to it :)
What a great idea dude and it turned out awesome!
Thanks Mate
Turned out beautiful, Ben! I love it!
WOW! NEED more videos like this👍
Thanks Rachel 😊
That was really cool, Ben!
Thanks Mike
Wow that's a really cool concept. Great work
Another fine suggestion by RUclips to send me in your direction… love your work. I have been playing around with LEDs and fibre optics for years… but not like this. Beautiful work.
Thanks Barry 😊
I wish I had the time to get into this craft… have fun. I have several more of your episodes to watch as the snow falls up here in Canada!
All the best!
So cool! Liked the new song at the end too.
Amazing video, Ben!
That looks amazing. Well done
Thankyou
That's insanely cool! So awesome.
I think a semi transparent version of this lamp could also be really cool, that way you could see the fibre optics flow inside before they form the satrs
MATE, you glued the fibre optics OVER THE BLACK DOTS, clever!
Definitely really cool. I saw a video a few months ago of some guy that made a “star light” cube with optical fibers and cement. I thought it looked like garbage and wasn’t very bright. I wondered “how would Ben go about making a similar cube” and you sir did a way better job. I love the fact you made constellations instead of just randomly sticking the fibers, and you personalized it with family. Really awesome! 👍
Turned out great!
Thankyou
Wow beautiful work as always Ben!
Great project, the final result is perfect!
This is just gorgeous.
This is a real cool idea!! It looks like it works great!! 👍💜😊
I was skeptical about how this one was gonna turn out but I have to admit...it was amazing, wayyy better than I expected!
Amazingly beautiful and extraordinary 👏👌👍❤😀😀😀😀😀
That is so pretty, great idea
That was pretty dang nifty.
My parents in the early 1970’s had a glass fiber optic lamp where the individual strands were tightly joined at one end and allowed to flower out on the other. The bound end was attached right above a turning multi colored wheel that had a gradient color film and A C9 bulb under that. The “umbrella” of fiber optics turned independently giving a beautiful effect at night. Early 1970’s, so yes it can be done.
Great project! I may have a suggestion for yall to keep the fiber optic bundle together a little better.
Once you have the fiber optic bundle together, while a zip tie works, if you slid the bundle into a small section of shrink tubing, that might give you a bit more control over it. Just a thought.
Keep up the ingenious work!
Amazing Ben!
Thankyou
Very neat idea, nicely done! Thanks for the inspiration. Cheers
Beautiful project Ben! Such a creative idea 💡 ❤️
I think if you make the cube with mostly see through color like purple or blue, then add black to that it could look better even when the LED is off. And when it is on, you can see the line of light forming going from the base towards the constellation.
With this you can maybe form the lines so it looks like tree or something else
