    Safety tip for the chop saw, don't ever cross your arms. Person in the video had bulk of the board on the right, held the board with the left, operated the saw with the right. This sets you up to where you can (though unlikely) end up chopping your arm/hand. Much better to hold the board with the hand on that side, and operate with the other.

    • @dennisg.8618

      There it is. I was wondering if I was the only one that caught that.

    • @alodelore9597
      @alodelore9597 Год назад

      What? I really don't understand what you are trying to say, but I'd love to understand. Do you mean, stand by one side of the saw only? That would make it super awkward and thus way more dangerous I think. I don't know where you saw them crossing arms.. ther person crossed the cuttingline after the blade was already still and covered, as one should do. Or so I thought.

    • @michaelsorensen7567
      @michaelsorensen7567 Год назад +1

      @@alodelore9597 for one example, about 0:45, cutting the miter. I'm not reaching a whole video from 3 months ago to see if there are other examples. Workpiece is on the right hand side, held with the left hand, and saw is operated with right hand. If the workpiece is on the right hand side, it should be held with the right hand, and the saw operated with the left hand. This minimizes the (admittedly slight, but still) possibility of cutting into your arm with the saw. You can of course cut with the workpiece on the left side of the blade, in such case hold it with your left hand and operate the saw with your right hand.

    • @arkufahl
      @arkufahl 9 месяцев назад +2

      It's dangerous to have an unsupported piece between a stop block and the blade. A pinch point is created between two immovable objects (stop block and blade) leaving the unsupported/movable piece to go flying when the blade catches it. Plus, because that piece is part of the finished project, you risk damaging it when it goes flying. It isn't a guarantee this will happen every time (as the video illustrates, it can be okay), but its a guarantee it'll happen eventually. You should always hold onto the portion that is against the stop block. If there isn't enough room for your hand to safely be there to hold it, long pieces of wood (or a pencil, for example) can be used to hold the piece.

      It honestly wasn't, to an inexperienced electronics hobbyist it might not be as clear, but there were way too many nono's.
      especially on the beginner level, safety is much more important than showing a potentially wrong process. for another beginner would have no way to tell how or why that isn't the way something's supposed to be done.

    Just a suggestion for the first one. Instead of using wood for the cloud. Wouldn't it have been better to use some sort of cotton. That way the cloud looks like lightning inside it? Plus less heaving on the glue sticks.

    I liked both projects. On the 2nd one, the sphere, why didnt you used a thinner saw to cut it? Maybe draw some aligment marks before using the saw so when you glued the parts back together the missalingment should be small.

      I would have just bored a hole in from the bottom rather than parting it and gluing it back together.

      @@rogermccaslin5963 Exactly. And just a tiny hole for a led only, not the whole thing. Specially since you cannot replace it if it fails, once glued like that.

    And I never even handled a saw like that, my father wouldn't let me and the school didn't had one. But this one did the angles by itself! I mean yeah, you got to adjust it first, but then...wooosh! Done!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
    Edit: Oh come one...this channel is only here to get me addicted to watch all this cool tools

    Two fabulous, unique and amazing projects any of which I would be extremely proud to have in my home. Just one thought, mainly to project no2 did you have to sacrifice so much product? If you did then so be it.

    Well, this is most definitely DIY. You just have to learn the skills to do it... For example, watching people make DIY clothing is equivalent to this video lol I don't have the knowledge or the tools! LoL Also, if I knew what all the pieces of equipment in this vid were... I would probably have a pretty good idea as to how to accomplish this. The only thing DIY implies is exactly what the acronym stands for - DO IT YOURSELF rather than purchasing item or hiring someone else to create it ❤️
