Dak, I got an idea about a new test for your weapons tests. Proximity tests, where you can gauge how wide the AOE of grenades and other things that go kaboom. Have your Deathclaws stand a certain distance apart form one another and throw a grenade or whatever at a target designated to be at the "center" of the AOE.
This way we all can see how wide the AOE is.
EDIT : With no perks as a baseline of course.

Dude! This weapon looks so fucking SICK!! and it has it's own reload animations aswell. This guy should work for bethesda for this weapon mod alone.
Ive always had a thing for weapons like these, future crossed with makeshift is such a cool mixture for a weapon

Simplicity itself with fallout's OP energy dense tech all you'd need is a fast enough magnetic motor to spin up a disc to the point of breaking to pieces and centrifuging out shrapnel everywhere. This essentially weaponizes a real world engineering problem faced by flywheel energy storage devices, when you make them light enough to carry around the RPM needed to make them worth it vs chemical batteries would mean any material or mechanical failure would have catastrophic results. When throwing such a grenade it would only be natural to substitute the customary "Fire in the hole" with a "Lets beyblade!" or "Let'rrrrrrrrrip!"
This is one awesome looking makeshift weapon. The animations are what called my interst. Especially the six rounds variant.
It's honestly so well designed that I wouldn't even call it makeshift. It's like someone coming up with a functional, well made design in their shed. Put simply, if stuff like the Grease Gun in WW2 isn't makeshift then this isn't either.
this + zap gun + select weapon series + skibadaa packs + pigs pack + your weapons is probably the best lore friendly weapon loadout atm
This weapon mod is a rare occurrence within the modding community. Scratch built from design, modeling, texturing and sound with an amazing degree of professional quality. Most weapon mods are just modern real life guns ported from other games

Idea: basically an electromagnetically-driven frag grenade.
Take a full MFC and a few dead SECs you can find, then hook up the energy cells in series to charge when current is applied.
Pulling the pin closes the charging circuit and energizes the SECs. When the charge gets high enough, fuses in the charging circuit blow, causing what remains of the circuit to short into 2 new circuits: one with the MFC charging the grenade payload (copper BBs) and the other with the SECs (now in parallel) dumping their charges simultaneously into a central electromagnetic core. Both charged components have the same polarity, so the BBs get accelerated rapidly away, attaining (hopefully) sufficient velocities to wound/kill intended victims.
EDIT: Those copper BBs would likely also be extra hot, so possible bonus heat damage.
My smoothbrain was surprisingly on the right track. My thought process was that I figured that it was the same concept of the in game Gauss rifle charging up, except that instead of actually being able to hold the charge, it just explodes.
As soon as you said gmoi made this, I instantly went to go to the Nexus for it. I absolutely love these handmade weapons and his Zapgun is one of my top ones.

I love the design of the prototype charger, especially the use of what looks like an ignition distributor/rotor cap from a vintage car for the weapon's magazine.
I like the little detail with the reload of the automatic where the character is manually winding it, like there's some form of tension spring inside to allow it to revolve.
I'm definitely gonna be using this on my merc character. Great mix of gunslinger with high tech gauss.
Wow! The textures on that gun are simply stunning, out of all the mods I've seen on the channel this is technically perfect.
Of course I see this right as I'm about to head out to the doctor.
I love this. Gmois handmade energy weapons absolutely fit into Fallout 4s world and it fills a niche not touched in the base game. Very much looking forward to his future releases after using the Zap Gun and Charger Pistol.

I already love it. Have been looking to start a new playthrough with at least 2 weapons dedicated to each ammo type and this will work wonderfully with 2mm EC.

Since Patch 1.4, 2mm ECs are obtainable from lvl30 onward via the Scrounger perk, and i ALWAYS take that perk.
So getting ammo for this little beast should be less of an issue, because even if i don´t find the right one, i get other ammo to sell for 2mm EC.
The animations for this do look SICK!
As already pointed out before, unique is locked in a room only accessible in the brotherhood's path, Liberty Reprimed quest. Which is something the author hadn't considered. Author suggests either using noclip or adding the unique through the console for the folks that don't want to do the brotherhood questline.
Both the zap gun and charger pistol have always been in my loadorder since they got ported to xbox.

I actually love the make-shift weapons! The valve handgun has been a new thing that I am trying with a playthrough by solely using that weapon. The details put into these mods are amazing.

this and the zap guns are must for me, they fit look wise and feel amazing, love both mods but this one wins for me. just wish the modded would add damage modifiers because i pretty much one shot every enemy
Mod author sure didn't understand how gauss weapons work. But still, this is an incredible mod with cool animations.
I downloaded this and so far from what I have experienced in using it's like it's a dlc weapon with it's reload animation the way it sounds

Hmm… well… gauss weapons work by accelerating a projectile with magnets. So, perhaps a gauss grenade has magnets facing outward inside of it? So, when the grenade goes off, the magnets boost the shrapnel so that they go even faster that if it was just using a regular explosive?

This is a super cool weapon, but I couldn't help but laugh at some of the design choices. First of all, they put a forward assist on a weapon operated by magnetic induction, that just don't make no sense. And the muzzle break is so open that it's effects would be completely negligible, if it would work at all. And finally, how would the gauss missile even work? I still think this is a great mod, though. Definitely going to check it out myself.

What about this is "Gauss?" There's no coils or magnets or anything unless they're meant to be IN the thing, which... there's no way they'd be big enough.
not sure why everyone wants to put everything in the glowing sea, and still don't know why everyone thinks that higher fire rate = less damage, game developers and there need to balance.

This is an awesome mod, but I don’t think gmoi6 quite understands what gauss weapons are lol, That missile barrel and grenade make NO sense. Gauss weapons, much like railguns, use electromagnetic induction to propel ferrous slugs down a barrel at sometimes hypersonic speeds.
A gauss grenade sounds shockingly inefficient, though also reusable? I imagine it'd function similarly to reusable gas-powered Airsoft grenades, but using magnetism instead of gas to launch metal pellets / shards instead of plastic pellets. I can't imagine them being too effective against medium and heavy armor, just because I doubt the pellets / fragments would be launched with enough speed to have enough kinetic force equivalent to that of an actual grenade, but as said, they would probably be reusable and also much more silent.
Wait... what is the actual Gauss Grenade from the mod even doing? Are we just going "lmao science magic"? It's definitely causing some sort of expanding force, but there's nothing actually being launched from said force, it just looks like air with a blueish hue. Why is it doing so much damage? Like, I'm downloading the mod regardless, but mah immersion.
Edit: Wait, why does it have a suppressor?!! MAH IMMERSION, AAAAAHH!

Do you know what gauss means? By definition it’s just a unit of electromagnetic induction. So theoretically there could be a thrown “gauss” device. But more importantly, it’s a sci-fi game, have some fun
@@DegenerateDak No. It just can't. Gauss type weapons are balistic. Synchronised electro-magnetic coils are used to accelerate "bullet". Like a rail-gun but little less efficient.
@@Recursive_palindrome if you’re specifically referencing coil guns (gauss guns) then sure, but the idea of an electromagnetic grenade isn’t beyond the realm of possibility, again especially in a sci-fi game. Again, the term gauss is just a unit of measurement
@Degenerate Dak Thank you for your respond. Everything else about mod is very good and have high quality. But even the strongest magnetic fields in the world can't harm people. People literally get into it while testing thermonuclear reactors or MRT. The only way is microwaves over time effect. But it takes too long to harm people so much. I can see how grenade may use magnetic impulse to accelerate shrapnel without explosion but it is not gauss principle and it can works only in sci-fi game. I think i will just rename it and problem will be fixed
