@LAWNTIPS when I worked part time at a golf course growing up trimming bunkers, washing and charging carts, etc... the greens keeper would drag a long garden hose from the back of a golf cart. he would circle the greens a couple times and the hose would knock the dew off effortlessly.
Im watching you put the 46-0-0 down and Im wondering if those areas will grow twice as fast as the green itself.. but then again you're going in at a low rate.. I put 46-0-0 in with 20 litres ona fine mist for a little extra "oomph" but Ive not done any sppon feeding as such.. loving the series keep up the good work
What grass do you recommend for the tee box? Building a grass range to hit into a big net on my acreage in Perth. Can't decide between a couch or Kikuyu!
Put some coyote decoys out around the green facing in the direction the ducks come in from. They’re just aluminum cut outs of coyotes. Cheap and effective.
If your temps are getting to the point where you're having frost, you might be better off to go with Ammonium Sulfate rather than Urea as it is supposed to work better in cooler temps. Green is looking mint though and that damage will fill back in as soon as you have some nice weather.
Curious with this now, yeah you’ve got dew and frost on the green, temps are cooler so why not wait till the green has dried off rather than mowing it wet?
Hi, Have you thought about investing in a front brush for your JD 220 mower? i have them on my greens mowers and they are a game changer, cutting at 4mm and greens are stimping at 10ft, the brush is called Sports Metals Extra Cut Brush.
Looking at your turn technique of disengaging the clutch. Its much easier to throttle down coming to your turn and not disengaging the clutch for the turn Use the big red throttle lever to slow down for your hook turn, pretty sure its design is for that reason. If the throttle lever is too stiff it can be adjusted underneath .
Is it to thing to have like a pool cover over an area of grass over night? Create like a greenhouse for over night throughout the winter? I have no idea just came to my head
Ever think about a predator decoy to help keep the ducks away? Don't know what that might be in your area, but a lot of people use owl decoys around me.
@@RaditzAus Drains work really well. We had 50mm of rain in a few hours the other week and the green was firm under foot the whole time. I'll go down and show the drains soon
Some Fipronil would be the go mate. Weed kiilers that are selectives are fine if you keep pets off until it dries out. Some Bow and Arrow would work well. lawntips.net/product/bowandarrow/
Hi Ben, my neighbour has some summer grass, crab grass if you like, come up where i top dressed over his property boundary. It's slowing down atm in Qld, if i spray it out now, do you think that i will have a better chance of killing it all off ? It's in our blue couch & can you only kill it with dsma, or is there something else on the market. Thanks in advance. 😊
Hey Resto Blast, Mate I know you weren’t asking me but I had the same issue. I don’t think you’ll find a product that will kill Summer Grass out of QBC. You’re better off digging it out and using a pre-emergent at the start of spring to get on top of it. Peter
You can for sure, just be very careful with the young seed and make sure to add more than just urea to help promote root growth and strengthen the plant with some P and K
In the formative stages while the green was first growing, would it have been advantageous to leave clippings on as a source of fertilizer? Since we know clippings don’t cause thatch, would it have helped with organic matter you wanted to develop within the sand base, and then collect clippings once the green was getting ready to play?
Loving this content Ben. A small irritation. Can you please stop using the American word “poop”. It’s either “poo” or “shit”. For example “I’m sick of the ducks shitting on my green” or “I wish the ducks would stop pooing on the green”. Small thing I know but “pooping” makes me feel like I’m watching an American sitcom
Ran outta fuel in the greens mower thats a box of beer for the boys aha
11:24 how's those ducks sneaking away in the back of the shot 😂😂😂
So glad you're dealing with cooler weather so we can warm up here in the States.
So fun to see you transition to winter as I transition to spring, good stuff bro
Seems like yesterday when you had your tiny putting area out the front of your house, now you have a full par 3. Amazing. Loving the series
Hey mate, get a Swan decoy and sit it between your dam and green. It will stop the ducks.
I also use urea, number one into a watering can, fill it with water and spread on the lawn. Does a good job and freeeee!
Haha, love it! I always look for the bare patches when I have to go
I am really looking forward to when you get the tees & fairways done! That green is looking beautiful!!
Green is looking mint🏴
Amazing series this, loving every bit of it. Keep it up Ben😍
Amazing have followed this! Must be great feeling to have done this yourself in your property!

Looking great mate! Our football club uses laser lights at night to keep the ducks off the pitch
I just herd my old man’s voice in my head “don’t fuel up on the grass”😂
Sorry Ben can’t make it to the meet & greet. Hope you and Brenton have fun(I’m so sad I can’t make it) Hope plenty of people come!
Keen to meet up with you and BK at Greenlife!

I think its hilarious @11:25 if you look in the background...the ducks are just taunting you now! HAHA

Ben - are ya planning on mixing grass seed with sand for those divots? Great Vlog!!

Have you tried putting an owl or hawk decoy out? That works for helping to keep birds away

I haven't thought about one to be honest. I'll have to have a look!

Nice Ben Sims. 👍👍👍
What colour nozzles are you running Ben?
Hows the drainage going man? Would be interested in some footage of the run offs pushing water out during a rain event
Also curious as to weather it's soggy at all under the foot directly after rain

When will the Golf course be ready ??😁
How good does a full shed of John deer equipment look!
Hey ben how’s the grass at front of ur house going.
Lessons learnt! Make sure you have a full tank before mowing, and then never fill on the grass!!!
Hey Ben, any recommendations on how to get rid of ants mounds growing in my yard? and any weed killers that aren't harmful to dogs?

Get a scare cannon for the ducks. The neighbours will love it and you lessen your risk of an exotic disease from handling their turds. Win-win.
I’m sure others have asked, but I don’t scan the comments, what do you do with all the grass clippings?
Surely you build a bentgrass nursery for times like this
Could you use the heat mats to spread up recovery of the plugs ?
Thinking of getting some out soonish if the temps continue to drop
Number 1 rule of lawn club is you don't refuel on the lawn!
Would you apply urea to newly (2-3weeks) germinated bent that isn’t really growing?
You can for sure, just be very careful with the young seed and make sure to add more than just urea to help promote root growth and strengthen the plant with some P and K
What height are you mowing at now?
Should cut a sun line in the trees so you get more sunlight in them areas
Are you still doing low rates of PGR alongside the urea?
Haven't used any PGR on the green yet actually
In the formative stages while the green was first growing, would it have been advantageous to leave clippings on as a source of fertilizer? Since we know clippings don’t cause thatch, would it have helped with organic matter you wanted to develop within the sand base, and then collect clippings once the green was getting ready to play?
Could have for sure. I held off though just to prevent potential disease, looking back I probably could have just done it
What is your typical mixing rate for urea for a litre of water?
Why in the bare spots or plugs do u not over seed?
I’d prefer not to be watering too much now. Trying to keep the areas drier to promote more lateral growth and prevent disease issues as well
Thats why am a painter 🤣
Was it a leak or a spill? I didn't understand.
A bit came out from the thread of the nozzle. Only a tiny leak
Filling a mower in the fringe 😂 sacked
Why don’t you use ad blue instead of mixing?
Do you ever get ants ruining the lawn? My lawn has heaps and heaps this year and looks a complete muddy mess 😢
With the John Deere you are not supposed to pull the banks back to stop it. You just release the bale on the back with your hands and it stops
You need to buy some duckoff for your little water hole. Ducks hate it and will stop coming to use it.
A need for an LED pin by the looks of things.....
How low to you go for 10 on the stimp meter and other speeds? How fat off are you? 🙏🏻
Wtf is the dog doing while these ducks are bombing the green every morning lmao send him down to earn his keep haha
He does chase them, just not enough 😂😂
Incoming comment from the Lawn Rebel re fuel spillage.

I had to watch it twice because he didn't say the cute intro.
