- Full Auto Friday with a Jiu Jitsu focus.
Training, how to find a gym, when to start, how to train, and much more, with two high level practitioners.
Henry Akins is a Rickson Gracie blackbelt, and has been a blackbelt for 19 years.
Dan Hart is a Henry Akins blackbelt, and is the owner of Alpha BJJ in Woodstock, IL.
Enjoy
got the honor meeting of Henry where I train for a seminar absolutely changed my mindset and game forever
I've been around Andy a couple of times at camps. No doubt he is one of the hardest workers on the mat. I have taken a couple of classes from Henry at those same camps and without a doubt learned more in those sessions than any of the others, and the others were fantastic too.
Andy. Thank you. You make my life better.
Hearing Henry talk about jiu jitsu with strikes is great. My coach used to train us that way and Some people left because they didn’t like that, but I’ll be damned if I didn’t learn to clinch and take them down efficiently. Thankfully for strikes with jiu jitsu.
Its definitely not easy, but fighting isn't easy, and just like anything else, if you're never exposed to it, it will be hard to be prepared when it happens. Thats what training is all about
Excellent gentlemen. Thank you. Enjoyed listening to something I knew absolutely nothing about. Very interesting.
I understand that you’re probably in denial Andy, but you are actually well into your 5th decade, haha.
Love your work, regards from down under 🇦🇺
Great interview with all of you. I ve done several private lessons with Henry and have all his material, Henrys Jiu Jitsu knowledge is on another level. Great material Highly recommend all Henrys courses. Ps I’ve been training Jiu Jitsu 25 years, your Jiu Jitsu will go through the roof
As a brand new blue belt I very much like the jujitsu round table. 🤙
¡EXCELENTE Pelicula! Muchas gracias, es la segunda Mirabellee.Uno vez que veo este gran obra del cine Western Clásico y me encanta muy buena película. Saludos desde Arenillas, República del Ecuador, Sudamérica. Graciasy y bendiciones *soludos.
21:20 mark to 20:27 is exactly on point and what I tell all my students who get frustrated about not getting promoted in BJJ. If you’re not getting promoted it means your instructor believes you have so much more potential than you’re living up to on the mats. It’s actually a compliment. Also, if you’re the best athlete and technical player on the mat, but you’re a fucking asshole or not humble, then you’ll never get a black belt from a legit school.
Good stuff fellas, thanks for the insight. I’m looking to begin my journey into the art of BJJ soon and am stoked and nervous at the same time. I’m 43 and my body is pretty banged up, but I am going in with the expectation of having fun while working hard and learning a lot. I don’t need to be the best, just want to give it a solid go and see what happens. Thanks again, and congrats on the 100k Andy, super happy for you.
Congrats on hitting 100k!
Let’s get some 🤙🏻
100K on RUclips, let's go!!!!
Morning y'all. I hope that everyone had a good week and I hope that everyone has a great weekend
Great advice. :)
Maverick needs to be seen in IMAX
As a newbie to Jiu Jitsu, listening to Henry it sounds like the standard for the black belt is fluid depending on the individual. Is that the correct take away ... or am I missing something? Great podcast and much respect.
Yes hard to define what a black belt is, its based on each instructor. Also jiu-jitsu truly is an artform, you turning your body into a living weapon! Everyone will develop their own style through years of discipline and training. So each individuals expression of the art will be different. There are some standards instructors look for but different between them all
Does Henry teach in Las Vegas?
Fuck yes let's go
Are the camps streamed?
It’s like as my dad says a1. & a half., champagne with Brandy.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
TIL Andy doesn't seem to understand BJJ I just a hobby to most people, not a lifestyle.
It’s only a hobby for me as well.
🌠👍
That look @59:30 immediately told Andy that joke wasnt funny😂😂 i laughed but Henry didnt seem to get too much enjoyment out of that lmao
🤣🤣🤣
First
Is this joe rogan?
Yes, the one closest is Joe. Next episode is how to combine carnivore and daily DMT
This particular episode of Full Auto Friday does feel pretty similar to a typical Joe Rogan episode but it's Andy's podcast so he can talk about whatever he wants to and what's nearest and dearest to him.I'm not really into BJJ(I prefer boxing but it is something that I would like to get into and start learning in the future).
