These podcasts with the senior Stumpf are awesome. You can see where Andy gets the background for his success and outlook from, even without the maternal influence that was no doubt there.
Your podcasts are something that I look forward to every week. You and I share the same views on many things. Seeing your dad on podcasts is great. He brings quite a few wise points of view and opinions. You should do another full-length podcast with him. I feel that many of your other followers would enjoy it besides me. I hope all is well. Stay warm. I hope you do well with the coffee shop.
I think being able to bring your kid to your job at a decent age will always earn some sort of respect and a great eye opener. Im a drill rig operator (I'm 30 btw) and my coworkers son (16) filled in as a helper on summer break to see what his dad does. At the end of the week he was worked hard and had earned good money. But all he cared about was telling his dad how he did it. Then it set in that his father was going on 27 years of that. He learned a big lesson that week and realized how hard his dad worked to provide for the family.
Thank you both for an entertaining and insightful podcast. And Mr. Stumpf senior, thank you for raising a great son who is clearly eager to share you with his listeners. Fair winds to you both! Cheers.
James Michener is the author who wrote the historical novels Mr. Stumpf Sr was speaking of. My favorite author of fiction. I highly recommend "Hawaii" if you can get your hands on it. I would skim the first chapter (there's plenty more to read) and then start your journey.
Thats has answered so many questions for me and give me a better insight on how to be a better man I loved how straight forward it was and there was no bull shit so many beautiful father son moments one in particular was him not wanting to pass on pain while he was in it himself thinking about his mother thats a rock and a hard place and after all that he can still forgive I want to thank both of use for making my day better ❤️
This was a great episode for me, and a sad one a bit too. My father passed suddenly about 3 weeks ago and there was so much more I wished we had talked about and done together. We always had a great relationship but I realize now that it's too late that I shouldn't have said to myself so many times that "We'll get to it in a day or two", or what not. Then one day, like me, you're at work and get a panicked phone call from your mom that she's found your dad collapsed on the floor and can't get a response from him. That was the fastest I've ever driven from Portsmouth Va, to Virginia Beach, which isn't a great distance, you just have to contend with a tunnel, lousy drivers who have now idea why you're driving like a god damned maniac trying to get somewhere. While it may have been a quick 12 minute drive, all of the thoughts and emotions of what is left to say or do to someone made the drive seem like it was taking forever. Pulling up to their house only to be greeted by a police officer who breaks the news to you that no one wants to hear, and the realization that you'll never get that chance now to have those conversations and do those things is just devastating. If anyone gains nothing else from conversations like this, please don't put off until tomorrow what could be said or done today. Trust me when I say regret is a powerful emotion. I am blessed that I had 47 years with but what I would give for just one more day...
Awesome as ever. I see Mr Stumpf Snr. I click immediately. Simple!! Attention everyone. Be aware!!. Humour, profound insights, and sensible, common-sense practical advice incoming.
Awesome podcast!!! Love the last question/ statement. This is why I watch these podcast. Being a veteran listening to other veterans and stories. The backgrounds of all the different people And how they got to the military. Thanks for all you do.
Thank you for brining your dad on! I just lost my father this past New Years Eve and hearing him makes me feel like im sitting down with my own dad again as they are alike in so many ways. My dad was Army in Vietnam, he had very cold parents (his father use to abuse his mother), so full of life advice and just a good man over all.
Another great podcast!!! Thank you Andy for bringing your Dad on the show. I deeply appreciate his insight on life, its problems and how to deal with them. Progress not perfection. Keep up the great work!!!
Andy your ole man is a great bloke. All of you need to get Down Under for Him and Casey. I'd reckon look when there is going to be a All Blacks versus the Wallabies Test in Sydney or Melbourne and get the whole family to the match. You'll need to book early and Vaughn will love it. Keep em coming.
As I am traveling, this is a good listen at the airport bar. Yea it is 09:19 in LGA. Keep on keepin on Stumpf’s. I think full auto Friday is great, but I believe that you should have poppa bear on as often as he will allow you. ;)
Always enjoy these chats and Q&A’s Thank you Andy. I wish me and my dad had your guys relationship. Happy Friday! Ya stumpers!!! Be safe and stay breezy
Caution not a family-oriented comment. F*** yeah we have the stumpfs back on this is the best shit ever I love these two haven't even started so excited!!
Being brutally honest when I first saw her your father was going to be on I was not thrilled .. yes I look forward to these on Friday.. what was I thinking obviously left to my own devices I would lose out on quite a bit in life. God bless him you’re lucky you still have my father died of alcoholism at 57 .. obviously he has his shit together .. thanks
Andy... on forgiveness: the HealthyGamerGG channel has a great video/discussion on this. It's actually become my favorite channel for figuring out my brain.
Having lived in the Twin Cities, if you’ve never been in negative degree temperature… it could be a shock to the system. Also, go to the St. Paul Conservatory in the winter… you will enjoy the green
Andy if your dad get bored reading especially history ones I’d recommend getting him an audible subscription. I tend to run into the same issue but it’s not nearly as bad when I can listen to them.
My pastor once said, “forgiveness doesn’t mean that there’s no consequences from your actions. It means you accept that the person has seen what they did wrong.”
Andy's dad is a good man. Prickly temperament and all. It feels like we are running short on men like that. Or perhaps they have always been rare. Great episode of cleared hot.
When I was just entering my teen years, I went to wrestling camps three summers in a row. I went from being a decent wrestler to being dominant, so I get it when Andy say Jitsu camps are the bees knees. Extra focused training is nothing but good.
I was 5 minutes in and i was wondering who this guest was, he sounded interesting to me. Then i scrolled down and saw it's your dad, should make it a interesting listen.
I always love listening to Sr Stumpf. I feel like my dad is talking to me through him sometimes. Thank you Andy and Vaughn for these discussions. Be well
Mr Stumpf now I no where you get your wisdom from your father. I lost touch with my two boys for nearly fifteen years know I meet them once a month for lunch with there wife's and my two grandsons they have one each They forgive me for my fuck up's but I still can't forgive myself? I live not to far from Shepperton you would love Victoria it's all bush not like the other states. Thanks 👍 for your pod cast been listening for years. Love from Victoria Australia 🐨
I have heard this said. Every man carries a wound inside of him .....inflicted by his Father. I'm not sure how true this is , but I'm certain some men have experienced this. A Father / Son relationship can be complicated.
Mr. Stumpf Sr. is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs.
We need to make this a regular thing. Can we please have Vaughn Tuesdays or something?
The Vaugh-cast! Let's just have him giving life lessons and stories. I'd watch/listen the crap out of it.
Starting my day off right! Thanks Stumpfs! I love the podcasts that include your father
You know he’s a Stumpf when he replies to another Stumpf’s question “so what makes you stop reading them”…. “I get bored” 😂😂😂
These podcasts with the senior Stumpf are awesome. You can see where Andy gets the background for his success and outlook from, even without the maternal influence that was no doubt there.
Your dad is a treasure. Thanks for sharing him with us. I miss mine every minute of every day. He was my best friend.
Your podcasts are something that I look forward to every week. You and I share the same views on many things. Seeing your dad on podcasts is great. Father’s a class act, as well as you , cherish him. Great videos 👩🚒❤️

Best outlook on books I have heard anyone articulate. I'm using it.
There is no power that a human possesses, stronger than the power of forgiveness. It is truly a divine action.
Andy... you are very fortunate to have a Father you can sit and have open discussions like this with... and the snarky humor on top... Semper Fi
Hey, I live in Minnesota. It's awesome here. There are only 2 weeks in the summer and winter that truly suck.
This was a great episode for me, and a sad one a bit too. My father passed suddenly about 3 weeks ago and there was so much more I wished we had talked about and done together. "Stop looking for the trump card. Find a hand you can work with." "Find comfort in challenge" That is solid gold advice right there.
We love Papa Stumpf!!
Happy Friday Mother Stumpfers (sorry I'm late... I'm skiing with the Fam in Montana)
Glad to see Stumph Sr. cuz he's my age, a Marine and has a bright white beard. Just like me. Thanks Andy.

Two wise men. Another great conversation with Dad!

When guns are outlawed
Only outlaws will have guns
“Mom was at the bar, too!” 🤣
Man, I can totally relate to the trout sentiment of Stumpf Senior. "Let's go there, there's fish x, y and z over there." :D
Being brutally honest when I first saw her your father was going to be on I was not thrilled .. yes I look forward to these on Friday..
what was I thinking obviously left to my own devices I would lose out on quite a bit in life. God bless him you’re lucky you still have my father died of alcoholism at 57 .. obviously he has his shit together .. thanks

Having lived in the Twin Cities, if you’ve never been in negative degree temperature… it could be a shock to the system. Also, go to the St. Paul Conservatory in the winter… you will enjoy the green
Vaughn is the gd GOAT. His beard is electric.
Never a bad day when you get lessons from Poppa Stumpf.
Where was this great dad advise when I was a new dad? Great solid advise that every father should know…
I miss my dad...its the second most important job, being a dad. You two are a couple of good ones.
Is the carry blaster a 365xl?
Gonna need to to know what’s in that holster lol
Your pops needs to write a book, his wealth of knowledge, and life experiences need to be written down.
I was thinking that, too when I was listening to this. That would be such a great book to read.
Andy if your dad get bored reading especially history ones I’d recommend getting him an audible subscription. I tend to run into the same issue but it’s not nearly as bad when I can listen to them.

My dream mustache isn't even half that sweet!! 🤣
My eyes can't stop seeing the pistol pointed directly at the camera.
My dad is 74. I’m 27.
Learn from them as much as you can possibly can. Make them teach you.
You're not gonna find happiness in a dollar bill.

That beard is something.
I’m sorry if you got the short end of that gene stick, Andy.
I seemingly did, too.
Hail to Pops!!👏🏿
What pistol you have on the table Andy?
I live like an hour away from Shepparton haha
When will that hat be available Andy????
Andy, I love your podcast.
Do you guys ever discuss the applications of BJJ to Rugby?
My fave Sumpf!

Holstered pistol on the table… I support it
Whens is Casey Stumpf's FAF episode coming?
Your old man is awesome.
When I was just entering my teen years, I went to wrestling camps three summers in a row. I went from being a decent wrestler to being dominant, so I get it when Andy say Jitsu camps are the bees knees. Extra focused training is nothing but good.
The story of his dad driving by in a Rolls Royce giving him the finger all I could picture was Cotton from King of the Hill
