I lost my dad when i was 25 and my mom when I was 26 and felt a lot like you did at the time except i wasn't trying to get home from a war zone. I appreciate both of your honestly, thoughtfulness and insight. Love the podcast and your dad is great to listen to.

I was a JTAC in the British Army, done all the usual tours but also I joined at 17, just made it in time for desert storm in 1990/91. As I said did all the usual post 9/11 tours inc Bosnia in 1992/3 & against I’m now out & been told I have severe ptsd blah blah, can’t stand life out of service. Anyhoo, life is shit but this podcast intrigued n interested me. Cheers for the vid.

You are going to wake up every day with a crushing weight on your chest. Every day that weight will be a little bit less, but you will find a way through. Three recommendations. Do something physical every day, even if that is just going for a walk around the property you live on. Don't self medicate. Not with pills, not with drinks or smoke. Do speak with your kids and friends about your struggles and continue to include those around you in your life.
