@Owi Owi I agree with you on most of your statements, I believe a vegan diet is healthier than one that includes meat, but unfortunately we can't change thousands of years of evolution, evolution where our ancestors were fed with meat now our system depends of meat to grow ok, yes i understand that nowadays most products are full of garbage like hormones, but the proof of what I'm saying is that I have met many vegan people and none of them look healthier than those who eat meat, most of those people look weak and fragile. I was a skinny guy when I grew up and always wanted to gain some weight and while at military boarding school I had a friend who used to read and know a lot about diets and used to tell me how some veggies were full of protein he even traded his meat meals for those veggies, during our 3 years at school together I never saw him gaining more than 2-3 kgs of muscle or mass I personally kept my diet with meat, lots of tortillas, and potatoes, and that helped to go from 59 kg to 82 kg during the same 3 years, not a single pound of fat, ever since I kept one rule in my life, for example while going to the gym and I have some skinny or chubby trainers coming to me and telling how to do and exercise, "don't ever listen to someone smaller (I dont mean this in the de-meaner way) than myself", same rule applies to diets, but this is just my personal opinion and experience, I did tried going vegetarian but never worked for me couldn't mantain my desire weight.
@Owi Owi dude I took a look at your RUclips playlists, if your vegan diet is so good why does your life and health look so miserable? As a Yoga breathing teacher, I can tell by taking one look at Tom that, above all else, he needs to learn how to breathe. “Breathe” one of the most inspirational books I’ve ever read.
Met Rickson at a seminar early 90’s. He was as much a gentleman then as he is now.
He's an icon of my Youth when Jiu-jitsu was My Life. Those were some of the best days of my life and I will always cherish those memories. Shout out to "Limao" my master at that time! GOD BLESS YOU BOTH!
Hahaha. Limao! “Fuuckkk bro” was all he would say. Did you train in the palisades or West LA?
I am so glad I watched this today, I needed it
I have followed Rickson since 1993 and I can say that he is a role model and superb martial artist. I don't think he ever lost a fight. A true Master in every way.
He never lost because he never fought any good opponents. He did lose a sambo match by throw in the early 90s however.
@@scarred10 have you fought ever? 450 matches and they were all no good??? Even if you compete against 5 guys ever, I guarantee you’ll have at least one out five that are good opponents.
@@Chromedome053 rickson has had 11 fights, the rest were grappling matches and the vast majority just sparring sessions with students, that's what makes up the 450.And yes, none of these 11 were elite mma fighters, that's why rickson fought them but the money was better in Japan.
I met Rickson in Chicago 1992, two day seminar's. Great experience, this was before there was ever an UFC. Years later I was lucky to train and learn from Carlson Gracie Sr. Both these masters were my greatest influences in jiu-jitsu and also life,Thank You for your blessings...
We love master Rickson, thank you... for everything.
Rickson Gracie had me enlightened excellent you don’t get this in school. If children had people like this we wouldn’t have suicide. “Lungs are connected to heart and mind”.
This was probably one of my fav , I was listening to the podcast and so intrigued to see his facial expressions. What an honorable man
"And I notice my worst enemy at this point was my own mind, playing tricks on me. It tell me I don't have enough, tell me I tired, tell me I gonna lost --
So my mind was COMPLETELY against my purpose. And I felt like I could not let this happen, EVER. So after that fight I make a statement in my spiritual and my mind; I said 'I'm not going to quit anymore. I prefer to die than think I have to quit.' "
How can there be ANY downvotes? Such a great guest and a great interview from Tom. Better than I would have expected from Tom, and I expect always a great interview. Someone mentioned one of the most prestigious guests ever here - I agree.
they the ones that lost against him
One of the most special persons that I have ever met in my life was Rickson Gracie. great interview.
I just want to say thank you to Tom, Lisa and all the people on this amazing show. I love listening to every guests story and taking aspects and applying them to my life. Thank you all for sharing.
Same here ♥️ I’ve learnt a lot from them.

Literally the greatest fighter of all time. The way the world is now and going forward, we will never have another opportunity for someone to match his greatest or exceed it.
This interview needs more hits. This guy is an absolute legend in the MMA world.
"My mind was completely against my purpose and I felt that I could never let this happen to me ever"
To be happy is to represent your family... i love that!
Rickson is such an amazing legendary warrior
This man understands martial arts as it was intended and how it applies to life!
This is real gold!!!
Thank you for your wisdom Rickson Gracie!!!!🙏🙏🙏
“I was expecting/accepting death in order to be comfortable in hell.” WOW!! My soul felt that statement.
Ok, let me get back to enjoying this richness…
I think most people can't really grasp how self controlled that guy is! He is in a higher level than most of us.
Rickson is a real man, a model man. Bigger than his brothers and family. Most were there for the money. He was looking for something bigger. The truth.
Very Inspiring man in Jiu-jitsu and his values in life. God bless you 🙏 Rickson and thank you for everything! And many thanks to Tony for the great interview 👍
what a legend! So much stories and experiences, ups and downs. Beautiful life resume. Seen this great interview i see how blessed i was to be born in Brazil and find this knowledge when i was 15 years old. Helped me to keep the samurai track, with respect, passion and dedication. keeping the bullies away with just my vibration,. If you have a son or daughter, thats the sport. Just find a mindfull teacher. And Jesus as the spiritual master!
My Maste i had the privileged to train jiu-jitsu with Rickson for few years in los angeles California. Great Master.
Man, this guy has a true spiritual martial arts arch. For those who know *Musashi* they will see in Rickson the evolution *from Jitsu to Do*
What an extraordinary Man. Being 68 and after having read so many books, watching so many motivational videos and more. I have leaned so much more from this Wonderful Man : Thank You Rickson and Tom for this wonderful interview.
The legendary Gracie Warrior himself 💯👊🏾 love the episode 💫💫💫
Great interview Tom! It is wonderful to see you being interviewed here Rickson Gracie. Legend! What you said about feeling yourself deeply. The direct connection between the brain and the heart is fascinating. It it such a gift yet a powerful tool that you have mastered. Amazing. My uncle was Jujitsu world champion many moons ago - Paul Lloyd -Davies. Do you remember him? I remember him breaking a brick in half when I was six, at the dinner table. ;.P. Look after yourself. May you continue to be blessed.
Hes one class act this man,and now i have a new outlook on life and how to handle stressful situations the world flings at me.just loved this.what a legend and man
Tom Bilyeu and Rickson Gracie?? This is a dream come true!
This is as real as it gets.Rare example of true man and true athlete.
Rickson was my Jiu Jutsu teacher up until Rockson passed away. Best JiuJitsu teacher of all time. Incredible man 👨. Very kind person. When he would come into the JiuJitsu school ~ Rickson would shake hands 🙌 with the first person he seen then work his way around the room shaking everyone 🤚. Made you feel like 👍🏻 you was his family. His JiuJitsu was second to none. He was the best. Glad to share time and space with the man on the JiuJitsu Matt. Learned more about life from him. Miss Rickson Gracie a lot. In fact I miss him everyday! God Bless Rickson Gracie and his family!
Rockson Gracie was un~believable at the age of 16 years ~ I watched him go through MMA fighters like 👍🏻 a hot knife through butter 🧈 . I have nothing but blessed memories of the master Rickson Gracie and his family. I used to travel 2 hours on Saturday to watch him teach his children in private classes at his Pacific palisades school. I learned Gracie JiuJitsu from the best. God bless Rickson Gracie and his family.
This is the best martial arts interview in the history of martial arts interviews.
Rickson Gracie is the GOAT FOR REAL FOR REAL!!!!!
I'm happy to see Rickson in a good place in his mind and heart. I was concerned for him since the departure of Rockson.
BJJ changed my life. It is arena of humility and constant growth. That and surfing. Those two hobbies have been phenomenal vehicles to challenge, growth and confidence. If you’re a cocky person or full of yourself, see how long that lasts on the mats or in the ocean.
At the mention of his book I stopped and binged it. Wow. What a life. ❤️❤️❤️ This is my focus.
WOW...This is a man is on a whole other level of humanity. Thank you for the content.
He’s almost on the same level as Trump😂😂😂
Obrigado do Brasil. Thank you.
What a powerful message. Inspirational, real, motivational. Thank you!
If you're reading this I'm praying something amazing happens for you today. 🙏🏻❤

He is a True Martial artist !! Respect 100% !!!
Thank you! Tom thank you for bringing such incredible person! Thank you for providing all the important information such as the book name and where to connect with this incredible, amazing wise man❤
I'm so sorry for his loss. Nobody should ever go through loosing their child. This is simply not how it's supposed to be😢
Amazing you can connect with his warrior spirit even from just listening to him talk_thank you for bringing an amazing guest!!🤩🙏🏾
I've trained with several world champions and I mean the best of the best some 60lbs heavier than me and he was able to escape everything I tried and him being in his 60's. He is a what a true martial artists should strive to be.
Thank you Tom for another great episode with the LEGEND Rikson
The MAN , Myth, THE LEGEND !!!!!
Rickson Gracie is the ultimate role model and a great guy, and so wise. If only his English was better.
SUCH WISE WORDS, HE SAID SO MUCH MORE BETWEEN THE LINES, WE NEED MORE INSTRUCTORS LIKE THAT IN THE WORLD, OSU SENSEI RICKSON, ONE OF THE GREATEST EXPLANASHION OF BUSHIDO MINDSET , OSU
A true stoic! To quote Marcus Aurelius "Be here and be here well!"
The most important aspect of ypur talks is that you iask the right queation in the way that it can bring out from the speakers' experiences facts( hidden in his/her memories). Its better than reading a book in some way. Thanks for that.
Wow! Thank you.
More martial arts masters, please!
9:10 "I was accepting death to be comfortable in hell".
That's incredibly powerful.
