I've always been taught that banging on a baring will damage the bearing race. You should use thermal expansion to work with bearings just under 300 degrees max!
It matters what are you using the bang on the bearing. If it's a socket the perfect size with a rag between it tap it right out Perryville caused no damage to the bearing race
@@michaelsanders9506 I could be wrong, but I think he's referring to damaging the _inside_ of the race from impacting the bearings. I've seen ball bearings punch indentations in bearing races from shock loading in CV joints.
What I like from the design of the CYC X1 PRO is the fact that the drive gear is external to the chain ring, similar to the Lift MTB (which is made in France). This reduces chain stay interference issues. Once they improve their consistency, this will be a very good option for bike where BBSHD does not fit properly. Things to improve on the CYC X1 PRO: 1. Quality. Rotor should be assembled with tight tolerance and permanently balanced, not just balanced with putty, kit should be complete; 2. Noise level. Change strait gears for quieter designs; Luna, time to assemble test bikes with these kits (adding missing component) and do another video. I hope you will work with these guys to improve the product for North America consumer. BBSHD does not fit on all bikes.

The GMAC is the "next big thing" in hub motors, having regenerative braking on a internally geared hub that offers 1.5 times more regenerative return than a gearless hub, you could pedal it to not only maintain "stater charge" to free wheel but generate extra to charge your battery.
Still like my BBSHD. Thinking of buying a second one if I can figure out which controller can give me about 2000W continuous, something simple that doesn't require three months of testing in order to work properly. Pedal assist and good throttle is a must (that actually works the way it's supposed to, not the fucked up shit I was reading about) , gear shift sensor and ebrake cut off would be nice, decent display with a "Night" mode so those of us with cataracts aren't blinded by it... I don’t think Luna is a bad company. I actually like some of their products, like their Cyclone 3000. I will probably be upgrading to it from a BBSHD if I don’t choose to shell out the extra cash for the X1 Pro Gen 2. That being said, this video is biased af. Why compare X1 Pro to a BBSHD? They’re hardly comparable. With the same battery, the X1 Pro makes over twice the power of the BBSHD out of the box. Not to mention the X1 Pro is beautiful, has torque sensing, compatibility with 72v batteries with a stock controller, etc. This video was just bashing the motor, even though it was just a prototype. Anything they found, even if it was good, they tried to make it sound bad. Jackson wasn’t that bad, but Eric was so clearly biased against it.

He could’ve used a totally different intro he didn’t need Joe’s help. But, he had a vision and put it into motion. And it came out in a excellent portrayal that you noticed. Although, you seem to not understand how this type of art work functions. For one, it is the biggest compliment in many ways. Second, if it is easily identifiable from the source and really fits the look of your brand, that is a win-win. Here’s how to avoid Copyright Infringement: don’t just warp the image. Make noticeable changes but try to be more elaborate, so the consumer can still identify it from the source. Always, if for some reason you are using the same name of “said” product, CHANGE THE FUCKING FONT!!! I cannot stress this enough. If you are doing “wordplay”don’t worry about the font style. It’s not the same word. If for some reason you have to use the name of a specific company in something that you are printing, use a different font, but something similar. Even if you’re giving something away for free. CHANGE THE FUCKING FONT especially, if it is an established corporate icon. Eric, why do you have a microgram scale anyway?
it helps him identify fake cells and is good for other types of battery testing
Absolutely love this episode! Really love how you guys dug deep into the motor designs and explanations! Thank you!!
People buy BBSHD because it is stupid friendly, and it is IP65 waterproofing.
Thats why cyc how so many problems with there motor like there magnetics coming off and then cracking. The pro 1 gen 3 should be good. The bbshd is better the bbshd just needs a more watts going through it. I have had my bbshd for over three years and no problems at all
Hey Eric and the luna cycle team , so with all them kwerks you are finding i suppose this is a kit that should be purchased in 2 or 3 years time when they have fixed them .... or will they .... . I am happy with the Cyclone 3K you sold me in 2016 , i'm working on a rebuild chassis swapping & upgrades .But the motor has no need for anything , Cheers & be well and safe from this f****** covid .Eric if you read this; health issue sidelined me for a couple years but im good now ty again for the support you have given me back then ;-)
There has got to be some rich young techie who love everything electric that can and would invest a ton of money into Luna Cycle. That way you all could easily build a high performance, high quality mid drive that we can all have complete confidence in. You are and have built the best electric production electric bikes in the world and have built the best batteries too. Get rid of the middle man(china) and take total control of your destiny. Peace😁👍
we may be forced too... not many good options...
If he is rich and smart, he would invest in Jackson.
GNG is one of an agent to sell CYCmotor X1 Pro prototype , GNG responds to pack and send these prototypes to CYCmotor’s clients first.
i'm pushing 3,000-4,000 watts through my cyc x1 pro 52v version and plan to push more though it . the sprag clutch is between the outer cover that has the output shaft. be careful there are o rings..nsk clutch
Hey, how has your motor, cassette and chains held up?
@@happygiraffe9787 its a 1k$ door stop. Not worth it
@@nickrinkel1423 Oh thats interesting, what went wrong?
@@happygiraffe9787 their programming. It made it unstable. Every bump would cause it to cut out. Couldnt throttle much either because it would cut out under acceleration. The motor still works. Just not using it. I re programmed the controller for a different motor
@@nickrinkel1423 Hmm, I would have used it with another controller (vesc)
I thinking buying electric BAFANG BBSHD 48V 1000W for 15 speed mountain ranger A1 bicycle!!
Motor controller for this kit is a giant manual switch with sparks
Snail basically makes copycats of Shimano, they're pretty good for the price, Ive seen them get used on budget mtb's a lot
When u start selling! Will b couple months atleast?!:/😍
I don't think ripping off Joe Rogan's intro logo helps you. At all.
Dark Horse: That is actually what you call a spoof, tribute or a parody logo. (i’m pretty sure you knew that, but, for the fact you said he “stoled” it makes it obvious you do not understand what “fair use” is regarding copyrighted material. It does not even say ”Joe Rogan”, so this falls under the forementioned, first sentence.) I definitely don’t think that he made that intro to try to help him at all.
Spoof and parody logos are awesome, especially, when done well and the two participants are from different sides of the tracks. “ art is anything you can get away with” (Andy Warhol). CYC X1 Pro Gen2 motor fixes all the issues mentioned in this podcast.
Don’t the magnets sometimes fall off tho ?
@@seetheanimal5867 I have three CYC motors ( two Gen1 and one Gen2) and have been riding them for over two years now and I can say that I haven't had any magnets fall off.
Lightning Rods has similar product available for some time already...
ApocGuy what’s it called?
