I like the amount of watts/amps the CYC can pull, but they should really do something about that noise. It's the only thing preventing me from buying this thing (and maybe the shipping time). It's one thing that the sound pitch itself is not pleasant to listen to, but it's another that it's loud.
The CYC X1 really comes to life with the BAC 800 controller with a 52v or 72v battery. It becomes a beast with the ERT BAC 400 or 800 give it a try, So much smoother, and better throttle control as well as torque due to the controller's amazing performance. Same with the BBSHD so much more power with ERT BAC 800 controller its a beast. Fantastic review though Cheers
Thank for a great comparison. The ASI BAC 800 is showing much promise with the X1 PRO. The BBSHD is also running on the ASI. At 20S they both run much better with lees strain on the drivetrain. Less amps used. Both are 45mph. The X1 will be superior with final ASI tuning.
@@livingroom7019 not really. Just bbs02. Less weight, better alignment. And same gear that will melt if you are really trying or don't know what's is switching gears means. The only reason why it's quiter.
I think it's important to note what little difference pushing your bafang over 30 A has. There will be a minor speed and acceleration bump at the cost of much shorter range and accelerated wear on the nylon gear. Also the bafang got the EggRider which I think is essential since you can use a EU legal and off-road profile.
more power is always good to have, if you want some. It doesn't mean I'm always using it and the daily riding is done at a similar speed and power. But good to have if you are in a hurry… 30A is fine and seems that the HD is good also with 45A. And I'm not sure if a Eggrider is fully legal in the EU, since the power can be restricted with a button, when you see the police.
These mid drives are so awesome! Im currently using a modified 500w hub motor thats been modified to put out 1200w and that goes very well compared to the stock set up
Rears are horrible, i got tired of replacing bent/snapped spokes and the noise, my bbshd is just as quick, less issues and destorys hill climbs, plus you can hotrod it

Half the shut value and the controller thinks to provide the same 30A, but provides 60A instead, but shows 30A in the display. I have tested it for a while and I would say, it isn't really worth it, since using more power, the motor has a overheating problem. Also the 45A feels like 10% more, because of the saturation of the motor. It is fine for a few short boosts, but you have to watch out for the nylon gear. Also you need a battery, which can provide the power, like 50A continuos if you want to use it for longer in the flat.

14S batteries with lots of amps. If you want to get 3000W you need a battery (and bms) for 50A. We can build such a battery according to your wishes.
Hey! :) If you can build batteries, how big in size would be a 30 A/72 V battery?
nice DTSWISS rims.
Not only alot of more power the issue iss the price of the motor

Thanks, prices are not ready yet. But the CYC costs about 30% more. Prices for HD should be clear and are around 720€ incl. VAT here in Europe.
The CYC is made for running at 72v there is no point in running at 55v.
You can use CYC Gen2 with all batteries between 10S (36V) and 20S (72V) - no problem.
