I have been watching Michael since i was 5 years old. Lenny was so sweet and silly. I watched him in everything I ever could. A multi talented person. Much respect and thanks for all of the laughs.

One of the best things I saw Michael McKean in is the X-Files. It was hilarious. Excellent writing. Pure entertainment. He starred in 2 parts. I think it was Season 6. BTW, he's so good, I'd watch him in anything.
You should look up Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast... they specialized in old Hollywood stories. Michael McKean was on it a few years back.
A friend of mine actually got to hang out with Spinal Tap one time, after one of their concerts. And dig: the whole band ALL STAYED IN CHARACTER. Cuz the whole thing is all improvised anyways. So, how cool is THAT?
A wise old vet. Got his autograph once during A Mighty Wind and rode a van with him years later from set of Better Call Saul (should have asked what happened to that Wind scene!). Hendra did that great National Lampoon Lennon parody and later unfortunately was accused of underage sex abuse.
Michael has been there since the dawn of my artistic consciousness with Tap and remains relevant past the point of Saul. Been a sort of totemistic bellweather.
This episode made the video “Spinal Tap on Letterman 82-93” pop up on my feed. The whole thing’s great but to see something really different and funny and interesting McKean did go to the 31 minute mark where there is a very elaborate fake corporate TV ad with a lot of improv from him, Guest, Shearer and Marcia Strassman. It seems like they did it just for Dave’s show which is crazy because it’s on film and about 12 minutes long.
As someone who has memorized the gold that is Spinal Tap, the ignorance is hard to digest. 9:35 "Tap Into America!" not to mention The Avengers, he was solid stunt casting. 10:02 Tony Hendra! Love ya! Wait! Then there's the extended credits! The Brady Bunch Movie, Auto Focus and so many more. MM's career is like an asteroid, bouncing around the atmosphere, dipping in for a little heat and sometimes flame, but never burning up in a cloud of fame. Or shame. Lenny done good. p.s David Spade: in his classic stand up special that was probably "Take The Hit", David refers to Jodie Foster winning the "Paper Moon" Oscar as a child when it was actually Tatum O'Neil. Fans of Michael McKean must check out the comedy album "A Great Gift Idea" (1974) by the American satirical comedy team, The Credibility Gap, which also includes the talents of Harry Shearer and the late, great David L. Lander. It may be the funniest comedy album you've never heard.
I know people have been asking this a lot but PLEASE upload the full video. It makes it so much easier to follow with more than two people when you can see who’s talking.
Yes! Especially since they often spend time talking about where they are, what's on their screens, and joking about it. Just show the fucking video. It's 2024 not 1949.

No idea how he came up with that so fast, or how he would know that. But.. .I do vaguely remember the show Michael was talking about. It was called Double Rush. It was not a Murphy Brown spinoff though. It starred Robert Pastorelli (who played Murphy's house painter)....but as a completely different character.

The Emmies absolutely screwed Michael McKean by *not even nominating him* for that epic performance as Chuck McGill on his final season on Better Caul Saul (particularly the courtroom/Chickanery episode). And they rubbed salt in the wound by nominating someone else from the SAME DAMNED SHOW -- Jonathan Banks who played Mike Ehrmantraut --, as if to say, "yeah, we watched the show, but you're not it." (Like everyone, I love jonathan banks/mike---but he was barely even featured in that season.) That was a telltale sign that the Emmies are complete horseshit. A fact confirmed by their repeatedly ignoring Sarah Goldberg (Sally on Barry) the last few years. Like, huh?
"I had to get up anyway," is the best closing of any interview I've ever heard in my entire life. Well played Michael, I salute thee.
Bob Odenkirk and Michael McKean played off each other so well in Better Call Saul
Do they talk Saul at all in this?

And they were both in "Used cars"

I wished they would've talked a little longer about Chuck's meltdown scene. That was an amazing bit of acting from Mr. McKean.
