I thought the funniest thing I saw him do was when Ben Afleck hosted and Fred played this mentally handicapped man on the set of the movie Gigli. In between takes he says to Ben, "Ben! Ben!. This movie isn't gonna do too good". Roflol

They were talking about Ram and I was instantly thinking “I’m definitely going to play Arrow Through Me” when this is done - and then they brought it up! Such a nerdy moment on my behalf of feeling a special connection with these three great guys and one of my favorite songs. ❤

I love Fred so much. I could listen to him talk drums so day, but also hearing the guys talk about navigating the post-SNL years is fascinating.
I can so perfectly picture young David Spade riding a wheelie on his BMX, with a huge badass grin on his face. A 9 year old baller.
That bit about Bill Hader's voice is so true. When he said "SPICY!” as Stefan, my little voice teacher brain exploded.

I think Fred is one of my favorites on the show. Ferrecito, Nick Fehn on Update - a bit I always revisit from time to time.
One of Fred's funniest 'breaking" sketches was he and Bill Hader playing doormen w/Jamie Foxx and Fred telling the kid the story of Christmas - Fred wiping away tears but trying to stay in character. Freakin' hilarious !!

I love the Californians. I didn’t grow up in CA but have live there for 37 years and that sing song pattern of talking is real. I was in Beverly Hills having lunch one day at this little deli and this young man and woman came in and sat next to me and I heard them talking and it was so hard not to laugh cuz everything they said and how they talked was like an episode of the Californians. I hope they weren’t offended. But it was just like a comic sketch.

There's few moments in TV where I wonder who is going to be playing Uncle Fester in Wednesday - one of my favourite characters that remind me of my family (R.I.P. Uncle Leonard). I know google exists but sometimes you just trust the brains putting a show together to deliver. Then Fred shows up and I couldn't have been more pleased. Also he nails the character. Bravo!

Fred . So funny . The Californians . And everything else . I saw a lot of cool bands but like 89 I think , I took this girl to the violent femmes and the drummer was unbelievable , he was set up like the high school band and he was kinda chubby and on his feet the whole set . When I wasn’t even in school yet I had a little Disney record player . Like the fisher price one . Target had 45’s . They were like a buck . My first two 45’s I bought was oh Mickey You’re so Fine , and Abracadabra Steve Miller LOL

Concerning the later part of the Pcast when Fred mentions McCartneys Ram album as his all time fav. Great album. They state he hardly plays any songs from Ram live. Ram has Too Many People, Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, and Monkberry Moon Delight, which were in heavy live rotation for most of Wings. If you love Ram as well, check out deluxe Ed bonus track Hey Diddle, if you haven’t heard it gold awaits. How it didn’t make the cut is probably strictly time on vinyl limitations. Ⓜ️

John Bonham's Secrets: 1. He was born with Perfect Pitch (nobody else has picked up on this). This means he knew how to tune his drums perfectly so they resonated with each other in a perfectly intonated chord. 2. His drums were the biggest kit he could find -- I don't mean MORE DRUMS, I mean each drum was bigger than what most people played. 3. Jimmy Page... people didn't record drums the way he did. He used more mics and placed them all over the room to get a fuller sound. 4. He sometimes recorded in a "Crow's Nest" perched above the band. 5. He hit really hard without trying due to having been a carpenter, so it looks like he's not hitting that hard.

One week the sugarcubes were the guest and that episode was so epic , I taped it . I don’t remember what the churchlady said but the penis song . That whole sketch was amazing . I was hooked . It was so much fun . That was the time I was watching from Dana , thru david , and into Fred , most weeks not every every week but most weeks . Thank you . Also massive head wound Harry .

Loved art student song on Seth Myers. Brilliant, the lyrics are so true. Does Me. Hader really play the bass? I took drum lessons on a kit. Planning on getting back to it. Been going to Chicago’s shows since 1984. My brother n law, Pat Samson was the drummer for U.S. Maple. They had a great run in the ‘90’s. I’ve known those guys since we were punk kids. They went on to have representation by Drag City. Toured Europe. Had a big following in Germany.
Todd Ritman had the privilege playing with Rhys Chapman when he played at the Empty Bottle. That lot are funny as fuck. Real eccentric and jokers. I love them

I enjoy clips from every era of course to include Will Ferrell. But I wish I would have watched full seasons of the era with Fred Armisen and Bill hader and the other army of comedians that were in that cast. It's easy to say everything sucks after your favorite cast era ends, and certainly some episodes and seasons are lame but there's always something funny going on every season.

People throw around 'comedy genius' and it's often misdirected. Mike Myers or Jimmy Fallon were very strong students of comedy, wanted it and made it. Carvey has a funny high-energy revelation power, Spade has a quick wit and finds tangy snark nuggets like no other and Twitter is everyone who tried to copy him. ALL these things are excellent but the odd so often there is a kind of comedy genius but really probably 'autistic' is a better word. Andy Kauffman had it and Fred Armisen has it. Its a peculiar wildcard IQ streak and it shouldn't be thrown around so much. Sometimes I think Bill Hader is a 'daywalker'. He is a 'Mike Myers' comedy fan, student, he does the work to find and make the funny but he may have a 'streak' of that genius. Fred Armisen is, really, most properly a Comedy Genius.
