    I ordered a few accessories and spent over $300. It took a while to get all the stuff I wanted because a lot of the stuff was out of stock. 3 months later and I was ready to install everything this last Saturday. Earlier that morning I got a call from my brother to come visit for a few minutes because my sister was there with her kids. He only lives about a mile down the road so I jumped on the Navi and headed to his house.
    Well, my nephew was there and would not stop asking me to let him ride the Navi. I finally relented and told him do not leave the yard and go slow. He's 15 years old and bigger than me. I showed him all the controls and had him demonstrate that he knew how to use them. My brother has a 5 acre pasture and perfect for test riding.
    My nephew takes off immediately at full throttle. After first pass I stopped him and told him "slow down because he could hit a hole and the suspension sucks". Again, immediately he takes off at full throttle. Sure enough he hits a hole and launches over the handle bars.
    Long story short, my handle bar is bent and the front fork is twisted. Replacement parts are out of stock and there are zero RUclips videos to help me even if I could find the parts. No, it's not your typical triple tree with pinch bolts. It's totally different. The only motorcycle repair shop near me works exclusively on Harley Davidson but the owner was curious and said he'd give it a look. I'm not feeling confident but I have no choice. The Honda dealer near me would almost certainly charge more than the bike is worth so that's not an option.
    In all likelihood I think I have a brand new bike that runs perfect but is nothing more than a paper weight. To make matters worse, I've got a few hundred dollars of accessories still in the box that will probably never get used.

      Total bummer man. Parts have been a complete nightmare over the last year or two. Aftermarket and especially OEM. Not sure how fubar your front end is but had to fix my buddies a couple months back when he hit a guard rail on his navi. The bars I bent back but really needed replaced the front wheel realigned after loosening the the front end up and suspension straightened out. All depends on how bad its twisted. Hopefully they can get something figured out. Bending metal will weaken it functional integrity thats why I told him to get new handlebars but the forks did fall back into place 🤞🏼what goodies did u pick up just out of curiosity?

      @@Floatsorrolls1 I got the wind screen, rear rack and new hand grips. I paid a little more than what it all would sale for regularly because supply problems but it was the hunt for the parts that was most difficult. I was gonna try and do the front fork replacement myself but I've never done it before and there was no RUclips videos to help. You mention loosening the front end up. I'm not sure what you mean because the Navi doesn't have your typical pinch bolts. The repair guy said it could possibly just be a bent wheel or axle. I wish I had checked that myself but it never occurred to me. The shop also said they have a machine for straightening forks if they're not too far out of whack. That was good news to hear since parts are hard to find. I don't think the forks are bent beyond repair. The new handle bar arrived today UPS and I'm going to take it to the shop tomorrow. I'll let them install it. Like I said, I have no experience working on motorcycles. I do have experience working on other small engines and my own vehicles but motorcycles is completely new to me. The Navi was my first bike. I guess it was good to learn my lessons on an $1800 bike rather than a more expensive model. I want to keep the Navi but I had already decided to upgrade to something bigger as a Christmas present before my nephew wrecked it. Hence why I did not strangle him myself after the wreck. I wanted a Honda Rebel 500 but now with the production problems in Japan it seems I'm stuck with the Navi for now. Got to get it fixed. Thanks for the video and anymore videos regarding repairs would be great for the Navi community. Especially a video about the forks because they are so vastly different from your typical set up. I probably wouldn't have got the Navi if I knew just how basic (cheap) the front suspension was built.

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  2 года назад

      @@jamesrevell6475 the rebel is very cool i road my neighbors 1100 rebel a couple months back! Ill definitely consider making a video on wht I did when I get caught back up! The weak point seems to be where the front forks attach to the front axle and wheel that is where I notice my friends bike was twisted out of wack. Taking off the Philips screws on the covers for the axle bolt and loosening the bolt allowed me to let the suspension get straightened out relaxed and retorqued the wheel. The steering was still off slightly so I basically pressed the front wheel between my legs and used the leverage of the handlebars to make the steering straight again. Certainly not built the most durable but For the money not bad. Really just the issue of parts. There so cheap to get for the bike so fixing things ant bad just supply issues are terrible. Im picking up a grom that was supposed to be in 3 months ago and is now pushed to January. Supposably getting parts for tht bike isnt an issue. Let me know wht they find out with ur bike and wht they end up doing and thanks for watching man! 🤘🏼

    • @Floatsorrolls1

      The filter is a metal screen and is something you clean off when u do the oil change. No need to change or replace it. I made a video showing how to change oil and shows where the screen is and how i clean it. First oil change is something i wanted to do early since the filter will get quite dirty fast as the engine breaks in. You are recommended by honda to do the first oil change at 600 miles. Nothing is available yet that I’m aware of. But heard you can buy a front wheel and use that to make 12” rear once they are available but haven’t tried it myself to verify that. I would image with the popularity these bikes are getting thus far that some aftermarket wheel options are going to be available as well. Just speculation though. I agree though a 12” rear would be nice for more options on tires. After swapping wheels you would definitely need to play with cvt though if your over 120+Pounds lol. The taller rim will gear it up to much in my opinion for the way it comes stock.

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  2 года назад

      @@douglasboyd8475 gonna really depend if your mechanically inclined or not lol. Generally it being a newer bike its not really gonna be a issue until down the road. Ive heard people have issues with them running weird but mine has been perfect. Getting a carbureted bike isnt as good as fuel injected but that part of the reason the bike is so cheap. Im pretty mechanical and familiar with carbs so its not a factor for me but someone who isn’t interested in touching the bike other than riding and filling it up might not like it if they see owning this long term. In my opinion you should know how to adjust the idle and drain the bowl on a carb when owning a carbureted bike. Being able to adjust idle can help you if your bike is tending to want to stall when coming to a stop(raise idle in small increments they are sensitive on this bike) this is what most people have issues on. Also being able to draining the bowl will allow you to flush out old gas if your having trouble starting it after its been sitting for a while. Both are not to difficult to figure out and can save you headaches and money taking it to the dealer unless your under warranty. The bike is really easy to work on in comparison to other bikes, its oil change isn’t bad to do yourself either if your into that. Being carbureted it isnt going to be flawless like a fuel injected bike when it coming to starting the bike. Unless you get intake and/or exhaust pulling the carb shouldn’t be necessary for many years. Its a draw back in the fact that it will be slightly more finicky long term compared to fuel injected and not gonna start up right away every time.

      @@Floatsorrolls1 I hurt after riding my wife’s Harley Sportster.

      @@thatguy6207 I would probably steer yah away from it then the suspension is not forgiving on a budget bike like this. Of the bikes I have the Yamaha Tenere 700 is the best bike for someone tall fits my dad (6’6”) perfectly and rides smooth but we are talking completely different ballparks in term of price and bike lol. Not to mention ur girl will leave u in the dust with u on the Navi lol. Top speed is 53mph. The Tenere 700 is the bike doing a wheelie past me in the intro to this video by the way lol.
