    Love how they contrast Simmons with Giannis. One is afraid to fail so he doesn't even attempt while the other isn't afraid at all so he will keep attempting. Neither can shoot but one is a winner.

      That's because he is kind of a throwback player. He didn't grow up playing AAU ball like all the other guys. He isn't trying to be friends with all his opponents. He is concerned with all the fame and everything that comes with. Most importantly, he isn't afraid to fail.

      Giannis was getting clowned for shooting all of those airballs during the playoffs, but he just kept coming back and was dominant in the finals. Simmons is afraid of embarrassing moments like that, he turtles.

      There is one team that wouldn't mind a facilitator who doesn't need to shoot and that would be the Warriors. I'd even trade Draymond for him. Neither can shoot but at least Simmons can score and is a younger and better than Draymond at this point. Plus he's an actual point guard

    Ben is too green to realize Shaq and Chuck wouldn't be criticizing him this harshly if they didn't think he could get better. He has the potential to be great but not the maturity to make it mean anything.

    When Shaq and Chuck are telling you the same thing without vaguely arguing, you really know that something is up.
    Also, we need to remember that Giannis came up old-school poor. He knows where his bread is buttered in life. He would hawk stuff on the street with his dad when he was a kid. He would regularly go hungry. He had to sleep on gym mats between practices because it was too far to walk home and get back in time. Due to Greek citizenship laws, he was basically a stateless person. In European soccer, some coaches like to have a South American or two around because they have this "street fighter" mentality that growing up in the sort of poverty breeds.

      And giannis was struggling as a player & skinny when he first came into the league. That dude gained muscle, worked on his game, became a better player & is now a champion. Even though he still struggles with free throws. 1st bucks title since lew/kareem & oscar/big o was in milwaukee.

    I feel sorry for Philly. The franchise and the fans in the arena have always vouched for Simmons. It's obvious he doesn't take basketball seriously enough. He's already an All star on a max contract. He's too privileged to think he needs to work even harder

      I’ve been a sixers fan throughout the whole process. Watched most of the games the year we went 10-72. It’s frustrating to know we went through years of that to end up with a person who cares more about being famous then improving his game.

But it wasn't hate. It was disappointment. He can't handle the fact that we didn't handle him with kid gloves this year. But I won't watch another off season of him shooting uncontested shots and posting videos the ones he actually made.

      I have noticed non american players take criticism seriously and try to improve their game. Joki, Giannis and Embiid are good examples. All of them have been crapped on by these guys and they wanted to prove them wrong and they did. Ben is a loser.

      @@mursuka80 different sport but I grew up in 3rd world playing soccer. In those places passion is really high cuz outside of school pressure sports is all we have. Me and my friends would spend hours playing in alleyways whether it was a soccer ball a shoe or a plastic bottle. We would save up money for equipment, games etc. Even middle class kids too cuz parents would think we're just wasting time. So because of the high population density and passion you get a looooot of competition and skill. NBA and other countries have a gap in athleticism but in terms of skill I wouldn't be surprised if similar level within a decade if not already. It's a matter of media exposure at this point. More media, then more people will be aware

    I remember when Bynum was traded to sixers, who was dealing with injury
    (I believe back or knee), and he was caught bowling, which he was questioned
    for his passion for basketball, and ultimately ended his early career, because
    either he was tired of dealing with constant "injury" or he just lost interest in basketball.

    We should’ve known Ben Simmons was like this when you saw how he was at LSU. He couldn’t even get that team to March Madness. We all know the one and done era has had “student-athletes” not caring about their classes but at least make an effort in the classes you’re taking. At the same time the NCAA and the colleges take advantage of these young men and women way too much. Which is why I am all for the G league and an expansion of it if necessary.

      I think philly has the right to suspend ben if he does not play with them because he is still on contract which means ben is obliged to play for them whether he like it ot not. And that means he will not be paid so philly cannot be sued but the other way around philly could sue ben for not playing as a breach of contract.

    I think Ben is genuinley suffering from extreme anxiety. Over thinking / worrying made him disappear when it mattered.
    But his name has been dragged through the dirt on social media. It was bad and he felt his team didn’t have his back afterwards, regardless of how poorly he played he just felt like they kicked them when he was down and i can understand that.

SHOOT.* I'm not a Sixers fan, but I've been following the Ben Simmons hype since his rookie season. 210+ midrange attempts in his first season (which is still low for a point guard). *44* midrange attempts in 57 games last season...not made...ATTEMPTS. That's less than one a game! *WON'T. SHOOT.* Ben needs to go back to Australia.

      The difference between Chuck and Ben, is that Chuck ACTUALLY made a difference, Philly and some veteran players of that team, during that time talked towards Chuck, and Chuck accepted the criticism and the things he need to do. Afterwards the work ethic and the result speak for itself. Against Ben who showed unprofessionalism and made Child like tantrums, the dude can’t even take responsibility on he’s own mistakes.

      @@AdrianEmbrey1979 Chuck did gain weight because he doesn’t want to be in 76ers, at first, But the important thing is, what Chuck did when he was already playing for the 76ers. He acknowledge the wrong doing he did, and made the EFFORT of working things out those criticism he got with the team, and he did deliver; he shed some weight and became one of the focal point player on he’s time with 76ers. Again the difference with Ben was, he is already playing for almost 4 to 5 years with the organization, he did try to make jumpshots, but it got worse to the point that Ben won’t even attempt or to jump for jumpshots, which also affected the ability to shoot free throws

      There is a difference in that Barkley played 8 seasons in Philadelphia before the writing was on the wall that they were never going to be good.
      Simmons on the other hand has only been there four years and they have been good the last few years and Charles does have a point about the Simmons signing the extension and then requesting a trade.
