One of the most annoying part about Ben isn’t his lack of willingness to take jump shots, it’s that he doesn’t even try to attack the rim
He’s a guy who’s fine with doing what he’s comfortable doing, and we clearly see the extent of what he’s comfortable with on the court.
He's afraid to be fouled, and have to shoot freethrows
its really early in the season, i think hes just trying to adjust to the new rostrer like most players currently struggling. I think with teams like the lakers and nets and what not you have to let them adjust and jel as most teams aren't going to win every game at the start
Fr his work ethic is horrible
@@EnZo7992 And as he becomes more predictable, he is easier to defend, and the list of things he is comfortable with will continue to shrink.
You can’t miss a shot you don’t take.

100 percent FG% in the 4th quarter against the series against the hawks in the play-offs, clutch!!!!
The dude is a reverse Wayne Gretzky.

As a Sixers fan, I’d like to once again thank the New Jersey Nets for taking Ben from us
Sixers arent going to be any closer to a chip now than they were
@@raybohlander5502 They kinda are, they dont have someone on the roster whos incompetent and they were lucky to find a team that was willing to take him off their hands.
@@00nobody001 It depends on what you're looking for in a player Billy needed more offense sure but down the stretch when you're getting to play off basketball James harden is a liability and he is never going to win a championship and they are never gonna win a championship in philly because of that We have seen the best James harden is ever going to be when he was in Houston
@@00nobody001 The problem is that the league doesn't allow defenders to defend Every game looks like an All Star game 140 points per team is crazy

Finally someone acknowledged Brett Browns efforts to fix Ben Simmons 👏 🙌 Brett got the most out of Simmons and was actually trying to hold him accountable.
Ben Simmons got Brett Brown fired cause Brett Brown wanted to put Ben Simmons at PF
Brett brown wasn't that bad as a coach. Philly would be better with him then Rivers lol
Lmao Ben Simmons treats basketball like he’s a seasonal employee that really doesn’t want to be there but needs the money
Is like that government worker counting the days they can retire and collect that big government pension.
😂😂🤣
Lol nah it's like he the best ride operator at a county fair so Brooklyn wants him but he only knows how to
Work that one ride at first Brooklyn was saying they ok with it but deep down they not & its only matter of time before they snap on him & hurt his feelings all over again then he will sue the nets next
Exactly
You may have a point! He is looking like a scrub right now, it's not fair to kd & kyrie who is doing alot of the scoring. It's not right for the team period the way Simmons is playing. Like u said it may be all about the money & don't want to play ball. He not with the nets by choice it was a trade to get harden & the nets got Simmons! The nets may have got screwed! Time will tell more & more when he is on the court.
It's always the bag, imagine being a player who knows that no matter what happens a team is always going to want your services..that's ben right there.
It's more that he has a max contract and there are zero requirements except show up and be available. He doesn't have to be good, he doesn't have to work on his game outside of the mandatory team practices, he even gets paid if he rides the bench 100% of the time.
He's gonna be the excuse the owners use to take away some of the contract guarantees at the next CBA. I hope he's happy knowing that he is screwing over the next generation of players.
Yall focus too much on money. This has been Ben Simmons since high-school lol wtf does money have to do with someone NOT changing
@@OGC558 True, wasn't one of the concerns going into the draft was his low motor and not playing up to his potential? Looks like the Sixers should be getting most of the heat here, since they are the ones who handed a player like that a max deal.
@@OGC558 everything.
Hey as a Philadelphian, we tried to tell the basketball world what Simmons was and people swore we were just being hard Philly fans. But we've been seeing this play from him since day one. So I really don't see him changing at all. This is probably one of the best videos I've seen done on him, and based on this, I don't see any hope of him getting better any time soon.
Everybody with a braincell knows, that he's not even a starter.
Yall were defending Ben to the death a year ago.
@@aarong9128 Whose "y'all" ??
@@aarong9128 not a single person in Philly was defending Ben a year ago💀 that was right after everyone said he sold in the playoffs
You can go even further back to when he was at LSU, he was playing the same way in college. I figured Philly would convert him to power forward out of college, but nope they left him at guard where he is garbage and this season the opposing teams guards are already abusing him because they know he is a weak player.
I respect Ben for all his hard work. I mean the amount of effort it takes to cash those big ass checks is amazing.
Ben Simmons is more passionate about being a public figure in Hollywood than being a great NBA player.
Thats so sad
Yes facts. Guy has never once represented Australia, and his claim for not having done so is that he needs to make himself into a better player for his NBA team. Which we all know that was a lie.
@@jornavyr2459 just cause u from there dont mean u have to play for them

@@jonathan6229 bro read half the comment and decided to ignore the other half 🤡
Thank you for calling out that JJ Reddick interview for what it was.
Yeh that was embarrassing for Reddick
JJ is such a total shill for current NBA players it’s borderline embarrassing (that sole Zion comment last season aside - which tbh I think was a Duke thing as much as anything else).
Didn't really surprise me. There is no way Ben or his team would've agreed to an interview with someone that actually held him accountable and Reddick was pretty firmly in the "give him more to develop, stop being a hater" crowd
between that and The Punch, rip "new media"
@@deepaknambisan3251 Not for Giannis. But he'll sit there and totally support Ben's BS.
The take on Brown in the video is 100% correct. I was lucky enough to be coached by Brown when he was in Australia. He is by far the best motivational coach I have seen in my 40 years of being around the game. His expectation was for us to realize our full potential, however unrealistic it seemed at the time, in a way that made the steps trivial. Just being around him made you fee like you could jump over the stadium. If Brown couldnt get Ben to click then sadly I doubt no one can.
Getting Seth curry was arguably the best thing the nets got out of that trade lol
Yeah, at the time i was thinking that alone made it a win for the Nets.
Not as great as Harden, but he hits his 3s, and doesn't take touches away from the better players. So better in a less is more way, to be sure.
@@demonkingbadger6689 I mean James didn't want to play for the nets anyway. It's not like the nets would've had the harden that Philly at least had success with during the season. They basically traded someone who wasn't gonna play basket ball and some pieces for.. a guy who wasnt gonna play basketball and Seth curry.
To be fair, just about every team in the league would love Seth as their 6th man. Could probably start on some teams.
You know the situation ain't good when Kyrie is talking about being a professional lol
Exactly.

I thought I was tripping when I heard him say that. I hate to see someone get comfortable in their insecurities. Dude really does have a mental issue
Great Vid, On Point!!! As a Sixers fan, nothing was more infuriating over the last 5 years than watching countless social media videos of Ben knocking down jumpshots in pick-up games all summer, then the regular season comes along and he's scared to death of taking one in a game. I really thought at one point he was going to turn into the next Lebron, but he just refuses to shoot for whatever reason.
That point in the video where JJ compliments him on being able to open up 3pt opportunities is just sad starting with Ben's self-satisfied grin. He opened up so many 3pt chances because he would literally drive to the paint and then just do a spinning jump-stop looking for teammates on the perimeter. After awhile teams figured out he wasn't shooting and stopped collapsing and going to a zone. KD is going to get into it with him sooner or later

Thank you for the Brett Brown remark, most fans outside of the Philadelphia area don't know that Ben Simmons has always had this problem with being offensively aggressive. An that Brett Brown always challenged this man to be more productive on the offensive end.
These vids are critical and thoughful - Great job bro
Glad you called out that JJ podcast. I thought the same exact thing... he treated Ben with kid gloves. I didn't want JJ to bully Ben or anything, but JJ went out of his way to kiss Ben's ass, which was tough to watch.
Nah Ben Simmons deserves to get bullied. If only MJ was around just to call this man out as a failure and a mistake and belittle him like what he did with Kwame Brown
They’re fucking brothers, hop off Jj’s dick kid. He told ben when he was in the wrong. But what he doesn’t need to do, is harp on him live on camera. Thats demeaning behavior. You don’t do that to your brother.
Thank you soo much for saying that he only goes so hard in his defense to try to make up for his lack of offensive game!! All it’s done is cause him to foul out quickly. It’s truly insane how he thinks he can make this work with out changing his game.
His defense was extremely overrated anyways.
Well his fans and Nash have moved the goalposts for him and say he just needs to be a defensive specialist and since Ben is allergic to improving his game he's all too happy to have no more expectations
I think getting fouled out is him getting used to the new rules
Maybe he insane 🤷🏽♀️🤣
@@mitchtherevolution It actually wasn't the numbers will directly prove that wrong lol
He had his strengths while he played here in Philly but his lack of shooting was a problem for the whole offense. The fact that he seemed to refuse to work on getting better was mind boggling. I miss parts of his game but it was time for him to go.
hahaha facts
He still refuses to get better, and refuses to acknowledge that he needs to do/be better.
it wasn't even the lack of shooting in the end. it was the quitting on the team that ended it for him. he could've kept playing defense and point/forward but he decided the critics of his game made it impossible for him to play in philly...as if the critics of his game arent' going to follow him
Ben Simmons trolled the entire nba and every fan. Man's a genius out there making millions doing nothing. 👏

They are both unbelievable professionals, humble, willing to sacrifice for the team (levert said he'd take less money to resign with CLE) and overall wonderful locker rooms presences. Can't wait for the Cavs Bucks games. Should be fun.
You see how content Ben was about getting teammates good 3 point shots? Like he was sooo happy and proud of himself. That's how low the bar he sets. To get better you have to be dissatisfied with your game. Focusing on the worst parts of your game and fix those problems, not basking in tiny ass statistic achievements.
Getting Kyrie or KD a good 3PT possession can mean NBA finals or out in first round play offs. We literally saw that happening to the Nets last season when KD got pummeled by the Celtics, mostly Grant Williams. So you really have no clue what you talk about.
@@maxmeier532 yeah how are the nets doing bro
@@maxmeier532 ok 😂
I agree. Nobody basks in the glory of getting teammates good 3 point shots. He was always overrated as a basketball player but now he is even worst. How do you go from being an above average player with potential and youth on your side to getting worst every year.
Well you can do that if your a role player but his contract makes him the most expensive role player
I can appreciate the straight up view on this and how you see it. Well done sir
Great video. I can tell you put in effort with your research.
Ben Simmons is legitimately scared to miss a jump shot. When Westbrook, Draymond, or Giannis bricks a jumper, they get flamed on Twitter and he doesn't want that treatment
At least they try every game. Westbrook and Draymond give 100% every game so I can't hate on them. Simmons doesn't even try
@@gotworc I'm with you, I'm just saying. At least they try to be better, Simmons has been the same player for years, only thing he's improved on is his defense but that's it
@@gotworc lol stop saying shit
At the point where you're getting 100 million dollars, suck that shit up, you got players like Kawahi who just ignore social media, you can simply tune out online stuff if you want to
but it makes him get flamed 10x worse when he doesn’t 😂
This is exactly what we been saying for 5 years in Philly but people said we were picking on him and we always run athletes away from Philly.
Can I add that as Australian basketball fan Ben Simmons kind of promised to represent Australia at the 2019 worlds pulls out with some weak excuse then in Tokyo 2021 also pulled out with mental health excuse. I say Aussie basketball should just stop relying on this guy permanently. Build up the team and forget Simmons. 👍
@@TheManuel012009 Simmons was carefully hiding his flaws as a basketball player by not playing. He pulled the same stunt at LSU by faking an injury and missing most of the one and done season.
@@marktl05 I guess you never heard of a guy named Joel Embiid who was his teammate…..
@@marktl05 you're not actually saying Ben Simmons had a bigger impact than embiid. delusional clown
@@marktl05 dude people like you who make their entire argument off numbers make me sick. Embiid missed his first 2 years and came back avg 20 a game. All of bens success comes from Embiid being his teammate. Ben doesn’t shoot Embiid sacrificed his whole game to help ben. You don’t know wtf your talking about. Simmons led us on a 16 game win streak going into the playoffs without Embiid at the END of the season when teams were sitting guys. That’s why when guys like you try and use numbers and stats for your argument you lose.
He hurt his back carrying around all those feelings
Ben simmons is the emotional baggage that fills Draymonds backpack shooting
You should see him on fast breaks, he sandbags and runs slower so he has no chance of getting the ball.
The biggest problem with Ben Simmons and Russel Westbrook is that they are stubborn and reluctant to take accountability and admit to the fact that they have flaws in their game. They focus on what they think they “do well” and continues to do the same thing over and over, stunning the growth of their game in the areas they lack
I think Russel's issue is incomparable with Ben's, isnt it?
Prime russ was doing it all. That’s why he’s in the top list for triple doubles. Ben simmons is a complete bust
Simple as this he is a true right hander who messed himself up because he insist shooting left. I've never seen a lefty who dunks and hookshots so well his right hand.
Russel westbrook is still trying to improve his shooting
You couldn't have said it any better!
Another thing with the Zion vs Ben Simmons comparison. Zion was not playing longer than Ben Simmons but still played well in his first game back - so Ben Simmons not playing for year should not be an excuse
It really shouldn't yet the comment sections for several videos on the Nets/Pelicans game had a hilariously high amount of people using that argument without a shred of irony
@iatealready no he'll just get a season ending back injury because his feelings got hurt
"sets a pick and then gets out of the way"
Except it's worse than that: he often actively gets *in the way* because he just wanders around aimlessly near the paint any time he's off ball, clogging up the lane.
I mean, his man would sag off him no matter where Ben is, so just him being on the court means its 4 v 5 when you're on offense. Clogged lane no matter what.
@@rshinn8776 the worst part is after his man sags off of him Ben actively moves CLOSER to him so he's not open to receive a pass where he could have a good look. He's terrified of the ball. He's terrified of taking a shot. He's terrified of shooting free throws.

@@devoid2783 The crazy thing is I only saw a couple genuine plays where Ben did a good job by HIMSELF, another two I saw Giannis dunk OVER Ben. He shot 15 FREETHROWS that game showing that they was hacking down there in the paint. He finally started turning it around. We’ll see if it is for good or for not in the future. I enjoyed laughing but I am also happy to see a physical player back out there.
HE’S. ALWAYS. BEEN. THIS. WAY. He is not that dog man, I could tell when he was in high school before he even went to LSU, and ever since then everything that an athlete needs to succeed, he starts every year with less and less of those tools. No motivation, no love for the game, no willingness to figure out even the smallest of issues with yourself/team, no grittiness to ever go after anything bc he was GIVEN everything. Right down to his talent.
Its been 7 years, if he don’t have it by next year then he never will. He’s fucking playing alongside KD and Kyrie for gods sake.
Someone telling the truth about it
lol easy claims. I actually saw curry in his davidson years and i thought to myself, that this guy is gonna be the best shooter of all time no doubt.
- sigh. did you see his big cheesy smile when JJ stroked his ego @ 3:36?
I support LSU players b/c its home, but...Simmons has been pampered all his life. He's a gifted athlete who coasted all his life on that talent. When he hired his brother as his shooting coach, a MAN whose he played with all his life and Ben still can't shoot, why would you? He didn't help you 20 years ago and he ain't gonna help you now. Ben is a broke mare.

At least Irving is a good player, lol.
everyone faces a mental struggle, there's not one individual with mental challenges in life. We all face it in different strides. I myself had a mental breakdown at my job but I didn't have anyone telling me that I do my job right I didn't have someone to cover for me nor take my place, I have to go in and do the job myself and I tell myself I can do it right I pray and I work hard at it.The support is a beautiful thing that we are giving today that we didn't have before but to be handheld and spoken for does not improve growth.

I was once fired due to being a liability at my job because of mental struggle and depression. He got to take very long time off and being paid million of dollars. I have 0 sympathy.
Ben is the kind of guy who should have stayed in NCAA another year or so to develop. There it's coach, not player, driven.
Dude quit in college too he just isn’t that guy.
There’s no reason for a player to not make millions a year earlier lol. Y’all are forgetting how good we thought he was like four years ago. Another year means risk of career ending injury and no bag.
His estimated 7 yr NBA earnings is 125 million. I'd say he made the right choice at the time. No one could have known at thr time he would develop the Yips
And now they will be drafting even earlier! Many many players will not make it and need college
No, he's getting paid pretty good, he obviously has never cared about winning or being great. He has quit on every team he's ever played on.
Man.. u hit the nail all the way on the head!
A lot of my bias comes from being an Australian. There’s a lot of other Aussies doing good in the league, but I’m still pulling for Ben. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? His first two years (playing) at Philly were wild- he was hustling, making the right passes, grabbing boards and taking his skill set TO the game.
Now, after all that’s transpired, it seems like he’s waiting for the game to bring out his skill set. And it’s not happening.
I agree- he’s picking up his dribble early and often and he’s lacking explosiveness to the bucket. He will sort of take a lackadaisical stumble toward a poor finger roll or hook shot.
It’s fine to not be a shooter. It’s fine not to take shots outside of the key. So long as you’re keeping the D honest with hard, purpose-felt drive to the rim.
Again, I’m hoping he comes good. I’m hoping he finds his place at the Nets with the team around him, gets his game lungs behind him and brings back the Ben EVERYONE loved in his first couple of years 🤞🏻 15/8/8
Love your vids bro keep ‘em coming
It’s like the ultimate cliffhanger watching Ben every season..You end the last season every year hoping/knowing that he has the potential to be one of the best in the NBA, and he keeps you waiting by not developing his skills. I root for Ben and honestly I want to see him continue to get better and do great, he just has to focus and make sure he wants that himself
Being traded to the nets was the worst thing for him development wise. Steve nash has set the standard for him when he publicly came out and said he doesnt need ben to shot or even really try and score. Now ben can just be content with just being in a little box and playing the same way but even less. Dude is averaging like 8ppg. Dude talking about what he does on the court like hes doing something so amazing. This man NEEDS to shoot, him not shooting is hindering the offense of a team with kd and irving. I thought this vid was made recently but damn it was 7 month ago! Well done!
People called me crazy for saying JJ wearing sunglasses during the whole interview was showing the fact he couldn’t even look him in the eyes with some truth.
Its the fact that every single person for the most part has been like that to Ben his whole basketball career.
truthfully if jj did tell the truth to ben he would just walk out and we all know that
New media. Stroke each other egos and repeat „ People don’t understand [insert some quasi BS]“
@@blicleak1101 Yep it’s literally this. New media doesn’t ever want to actually challenge people. Old media has its flaws but they will challenge players and ask hard questions that’s what journalists are supposed to do fyi and why I don’t consider Draymond or JJ journalists
Jj gas called out players before...he knows if he did, he would have never gotten him on the pod and it never would have been posted. It's a good pod and its good he gave Ben a chance to tell his side and jj does genuinely know things about Ben that weren't media warped (obviously by playing with him). But I do wish he asked the question " why won't you shoot 3s...whats stopping you" but honestly I bet Ben madr Jj agree not to ask about his shooting before the Pod...they danced around that question
Ben Simmons has to be the sorriest and most entitled player ever. Man could have worked with Kobe and said no and took no accountability for the Atlanta series only made excuses.
Couldn't miss a Russ Westbrook roast @ 4:43 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bro I think it was ESPN or SportsCenter they put up a chart before the Indiana and Washington and it showed players that's been guarded by Simmons over the last few games. Most of those players got at least 20+ when guarded by Simmons 🤔💀😭😭
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Bravo! Exactly what I've been saying for almost a year and a half. His first season, he played 81 games and _attempted_ 218 shots between 10 feet from the basket and the 3-point line, or what we would commonly refer to as "midrange". His FOURTH season and last season in uniform in Philly, he played 58 games and _attempted_ 44 shots from the same distance. Not _made._ Just the attempt! That's averaging less than one midrange shot attempt per game. That's like starting the season in mid-October, and not taking a midrange shot until _AFTER_ Thanksgiving. It's not "can't shoot"...it's not "don't shoot." WON'T. SHOOT. Forget the three...shoot a midrange or two. Every time his team has the ball, it's four-on-five, because you know he's not going to shoot unless he's under the basket. We didn't see how bad Joel Embiid had it until Simpletons was gone and Embiid could have the paint whenever he wanted it. Doc was right. Joel was right. Everybody gave Simpletons all the time in the world, and he just gave the finger in return. I don't want to hear another negative word about Russell Westbrook from ANYBODY, and I _live_ in Los Angeles! The Lakers have damaged Russ, but Ben destroyed himself.
Nah you right, but Russ still destroyed himself BEFORE the lakers. Now he’s LeBron scapegoat, he always needs one before it was kuzma now it’s Westbrook
@@erroneouse1929 Destroyed himself how exactly? He got traded from OKC, where he was a triple-double machine (because he had to be). He went to Houston to pair with ball-dominant, iso-ball Harden, which didn't work. He then to DC with Bradley Beal. The two of them together could have done great things, if the Wizards management wanted to be successful. Then, he's in L.A.
When a player is basically told to keep doing what he's doing without any direction, but with all the drive and desire in the world, you're going to get a Westbrook situation. He comes to L.A., where he's the third option with a coach who has completely over his head, on top of being micromanaged by the Lakers front office. Vogel had no plan for Westbrook other than "go out there and do what you do." That's not coaching, especially with a player like LeBron, who spends most of his time doing the coach's job for him.
Personally, I would like to see Westbrook go back to OKC if they can't figure it out here. The best Westbrook is an appreciated Westbrook, and he's never been appreciated here since he arrived, which is sad.
@@NeilTruick Bro, possibly the best takes I’ve seen in these comments, Westbrook and Simmons, great read too
“It’s not can’t shoot, it’s not don’t shoot.. it’s WONT SHOOT… every time his team has the ball in the half court it’s 4 on 5 because the defense knows he won’t attempt a shot unless he’s under the basket”….. sixers fans finally being understood
Russ should have stayed in DC. He wouldn't have to be a great 3 point shooter because Beal could pick up the slack.
The worst part is that brooklyn knows they cant really say much to him even nicely because he aint gonna do nothing but cite mental health and not play. One of them players are gonna snap and its probably gonna be in the playoffs. They either can win a title with ben simmons or they are just gonna have to eat next year's salary and pray to find a team that is looking to clear cap room and trade for him on the last year of his deal. The nets may be in huge trouble.
Hopefully they don't win with Ben because he doesn't deserve a ring. I can't think of a player that deserves a ring less than this second year Rookie of The Year who also didn't deserve that.
@@BruvahSulaiman your hating bruh
@@mikk6340 how?
@@jyoung8145 he is ben does lack shooting, but I wouldn’t say he deserves the hate he’s on a team with a new role and steve nash is a ass coach and the gm didn’t get the nets any rim defense and refs are moving soft all over the league not just this game
@@mikk6340 wow all I hear is excuses. Ben sucks bro like it’s no sugar coating. Tired of blaming everyone else (coach, GM, organization) I did it for 5 yrs I can no longer do it he just sucks at this point.
Great video!!! Sixers won this trade and I'm not even being biased cause I'm from south Philly. Simmons is showing signs of regression in his game and I actually feel bad for the dude smdh!!!
You forgot to mention the picks they received from Philly. :) Good work!
good work overall I mean
Yes, JJ was being mad soft in the interview
They’re friends I guess. But you can’t trust Duke guys
I'm not surprised.... JJ still has never addressed the Jerry west smoke .... He runs from things too
Ben is pure frustration, even if you're not a fan of the team he's on lol. Like everyone could tell this man to shoot and to be aggressive, but he won't do it lol he's content being the eastern draymond
That's an insult to Dray because he still shoots and makes a decent percent of them despite how bad his shot is.
@@paulf.84 - Agree. Draymond will punch a man in the balls, but at least he takes his shot. Simmons is a #1 draft pick who is coasting on talent.
Draymond worked his way into the rotation b/c no one knew he was gonna make it. Curry was not highly recruited so he too worked his butt off. Simmons? He's just coasting on talent. He ain't working. He just collecting a hefty paycheck for half @$$ing it.
May the NETS wade in mediocrity.

@@jlui21 True but besides Dray antics, despite not being as talented as Simmons you can't deny that the guy has heart.
But dray is an amazing defender and has heart, he is an opposite player of Simmons
Ben fears the free throw line lol!🤣
It's crazy that I just got to watch this video for everything you said has come to pass. Kyrie and KD are both on new teams and Ben is still in Brooklyn
Thank you
This is killing me
Every single time I see him on the court
Damn trey young really broke this guy...I guess the "mental health problems" was real after seeing how Ben Simmons was traumatized by that particular play and playing like this
If Trey Young can break you, imagine what Jordan would've done to him.
Poor guy 😭 how is this nigha gonna sleep at night with his 10s of millions dollars 😭 hope he’s okay 😹😹
@@Yavin4 hop off jordan's meat who mentioned mike? 💀
I mean this dude is soft as puppy poop. Even if you try your best to pick up the pieces for him it falls apart 😂😂😂. Soft AF.
I ain’t about to feel bad for Simmons. He deserves all this criticism and more. He’s one of the laziest players with his type of potential I’ve ever seen. Until he shows that he’s matured and willing to commit so that he proves he’s worth that fatass contract I got no pity for him. He’s rich and ain’t earning it, he can afford to put up with getting shit on relentlessly
@@tyronebiggums5547 Guys like you make it impossible to just talk about the sport. Breaking someone mentally within the sport has absolutely nothing to do with how much money he makes. We’re talking about basketball
That Grinch sweater is crazy lmao
A month ago this video was made and now here we are considering if he’ll be an all star crazy
I would never had thought seeing this dude come in the league 2016 or 17 his career would be like this now especially if somebody would’ve said he would end up playing with kyrie and kd it’s crazy
At least in Philly, he attacked the rim a lot more. Yeah, he didn't take jump shots, but he was WAY more active around the ring.
he knows the foul is coming and he will be on the stripe again
Yep and that’s the most ridiculous part to me the fact that any nba player can have struggles with free throws and not improve on it I understand late game ones but being scared to drive because you can’t make a free throw is so sad to me
Omg this video has me rolling. When he gets close to the basket 🤣 he panics....... Give this man panic pills and get him off the court. He has shooting PTSD.
Ben Simmons is fine and will get better as the season progresses. I see him dominating next year. He'll probably get to form in the playoffs. It will be great to see. Can't wait. I hope it's sooner, but realistically he hasn't gotten his groove yet.
He's been told all his life he's great, and the reality is that he isn't, he's not a great player at all. He's not capable of growth and working at his flaws which would require him to face and work through things he is frightened of. Dude should be in the G league he's an absolute liability and fundamentally has a weak character.
GLeague assignment would prob help most (long-termwise)
Excellent analysis. I like how you presented how his coaches have failed him
It's hard to believe he's in his 7th year in the NBA. Yes ge was basically injured for 3 or 4 of them bit honestly. It's fucked. Totally fucked that the guy has had all the opportunity in the world and hasn't done anything with it.
Is a decent defender...yes. is he a great passer (idk about playmaker) yes.
But let's look at a comparable player who's been given everything his whole life...lamelo ball. The dude has been in the spotlight since he was 12, but obviously his dad pushed him and didn't accept excuses. Ben Simmons in contrast was typically the biggest or best player so coaches gave him a long leash. It's clear nobody pushed him because he was probably the best anyway.
There isn't much he can do around injuries (nobody should get surgery unless they need it so I believe that's real) and mental illness is a real barrier (assuming Ben wasn't faking it which would be fucked up).
But the core question is...in the years when Ben was healthy and the criticism has always been the same (can't/won't shoot, hard work, etc)...why hasn't he improved...literally at all.
It's clear he doesn't want to. He's gonna be in the league until he's 32 because there will always be shitty teams that want him and willing to pay him 20 to 30 million. Then he's gonna bank out and retire basically at 32 and just become a coach or a shitty espn a analyst. It's clear he's gonna be one of those players who basically gonna be bankrupt by 50. He's had an incredibly easy life and it's a shame it's given to a person who doesn't realize how absolutely privileged and lucky he is
someone got to serve Ben a big reality check
I like One Train playing in the background, most Underrated A$AP Rocky song imo.
This season, Ben is running up to players and handing them the ball, bringing his defender with him causing a double team. Then runs into a corner getting out of the way and spectates.
