Great video! The Bulls as an organization have been clinging onto the Jordan era. Fans need to start speaking with their wallets. This franchise was ALL IN on coach Billy Donovan when clearly he hasn’t been as advertised. This team needs a new direction and a new roster set up. No shot blocking. Not enough bench scoring. Terrible coaching and substitution patterns and too many draft pick misses! Too many gambles in the draft.

Being a Bulls fan is truly pain. The incompetence of the front office you can give or take. But the absolute bad luck and injuries when things seem to be going well has truly been disheartening these passed 2 decades. One thing that still stands since 1998 is the owner Jerry. Bro is having the same issues in whole different sport with the White Sox. The Bulls can only climb back up when Jerry Riensdorf is no longer the owner.
@@nataliejarosz9360still a good portion of people know of and have seen the bulls dynasty. Maybe people growing up now don't know about it but its not like it was ancient times
The problem is we keep getting bad coaches like Hoiberg, Clown Dude, and Donovan. Our ownership sucks and they just want the Bulls to be winning enough so that they can sell tickets, but not really win a championship. And our players keep playing iso and three-point shooting offense that never gets anywhere. No team basketball whatsoever, and people wonder why we keep losing.......
It’s even more ridiculous to call Billy Donovan a bad coach, blaming him for another part of this downfall when he has zero control over the players health. He ain’t no physician
My concern is that they'll be too bad for the playoffs but too good for a high draft pick 😭 I hope Bill actually gets his future picks or signings right, 'cause there's potential for the Pats. Dynasty renewed soon 🙏
Y'all good now. Randle is the perfect tandem with Edwards. Ant man won't be gassed in the playoffs now with Randle driving the lane every couple plays.
Derrick Rose was a favorite of mine to watch when I started to get into the NBA. My heart breaks every time I listen to his story again because he had so much potential. If he was in the modern NBA, there would be specialists to identify his landing patterns and help him correct it. Not sure if it was just neglect from the bulls staff or just a time before there were people watching and correcting debilitating habits. Either way, I can’t imagine suffering so many injuries and going through each recovery process. I can’t imagine what that did to his psyche but I love seeing him as a motivating veteran in the locker room. I hope he’s doing okay today, you have to have strong mental fortitude to come out on the other side like he has.
As a Chicago sports fan this is par for the course, they provide hope for a bit just to rip that hope right out of your heart in the worst way possible.
It was karma for treating a 3 peat champion team and coach like they did just for ego, now they can't make a competitive team anymore, D-Rose was the closest the Bulls were to the glorious days, but the injuries destroyed them.
So much blame to go around. Jerry Reinsdorf is low key one of the worst owners in sports. Making Scottie Pippen play out that atrocious contract got the Bulls black listed by agents which haunts them to this day. For an atrocity of more recent vintage we need look no further than the Vucevic trade. I hated this move with a passion the second it happened. Adding Vuc hard capped their ceiling at 50 wins which they failed to even realize. This is the kind of move that plays in Sacramento where a cute, scrappy underdog story is among the better outcomes. This is Chicago however and a cute scrappy team is not an acceptable goal for a big market team with elite pedigree. Worse yet two young players they totally failed to develop, Markkanen and Wendell Carter have thrived with their new teams. Patrick Williams who is the epitome of mediocrity wants 200 million and Coby White can't guard his house with a shotgun. Finally screw Jimmy Butler! He's a big mouth phony who never delivered in the playoffs as a Bull. His whole "I'm the hardest worker who's too really real" schtick was incredibly annoying. The reality is they need to tear this roster down to the screws and start over. Obviously this guarantees nothing but the current 30 to 35 win trajectory guarantees misery in perpetuity. Did I mention screw Jimmy Butler?
Management detonated that amazing team to prove their managerial prowess. What a spectacular dumpster fire. Only goes to show how good Phil and Jordan were.
The other day the Bulls were 15 points down with 5 minutes to go in the last quarter and they managed to make a comeback and win a free throw on a 93-92 with 0.7 seconds of the game left. Derozan lands the first free throw and ties the game up, but misses the second one and takes the game to overtime. Nothing sums up this generation of Bulls better than that whole situation.
Losing Ball really put a damper on this current Bulls. Before his injury they were balling and were #1 in the East. Similar to Rose and the early 2010s Bulls.
Rondo going down with the hand injury was the end of that year. He was playing great. They had the celtics on the ropes and were ready for the ko punch.
You're not wrong but you could say that for every franchise. Warriors minus the Curry years and a couple Wilt years. Pistons minus the Bad Boy years and a couple early 2000s years. Cavs minus the LeBron years and a couple late 80s early 90s years. Only franchise you can't say that for are the Lakers and Celtics.

You just glossed over how the Bulls organization decided they didn't want to win championships anymore. MJ retired because the front office made the decision that they weren't bringing back Pip or Phil Jackson. They wanted to prove that front offices, not players, win championships so they decided to not even try to defend their [6th] championship. One of the most dumb-founding decisions in sports history, just deciding that winning isn't enough, they had to win *their way*, with new personnel, a new coach... unbelievably egotistical.
im probably considered a fair weather fan though at this point im so detached from the nba out of basically pure spite from what garpax did to the team. i started watching the bulls the season before Rose was drafted as i figured i needed something to watch that wasn't just the dallas cowboys and stumbled into my studio apartment hung over when i was 18 saw the bucks and bulls playing and literally just flipped a mental coin on who i would obsessively follow like i did the cowboys. Rose was a phenom and it really helped that 3/4s of their games were national games since you could catch them WGN-TV. every game he had 2-3 plays that you could only really see what he did when they played it in slow motion. having a team that was known for defense had an ULTRA humble super star in rose (who never flopped.... ever) and overall just a super likeable cast of supporting players in deng/joakim/taj and the nose grinder thibs directing the show. what a great time to be a fan. also in that conference finals every game was decided by 1-2 points (except for the one the bulls one i think)... not to mention the amount of fouls that the heat got called in their favor compared to the bulls was and still is insane to me.. though that typified Rose's career. that is not getting fouls called for him cause he didn't sell and dramatize every contact (real or imagined) when he went into the paint compared to those prima donnas. if the bulls had a tenth of those calls go in their favor they win the conference. also a shout out to stacy king.. he is the most goated up announcer ever.
I'm a Chicago Bulls Fan Michael Jordan was Greatest Of All Time Helping the Bulls Win 6th NBA Championship Jordan was Special for the Bulls in the 1990s.
D Rose and Lonzo Ball… possibly two of the worst cases if not the worst cases of “what if he didn’t get injured?” The Bulls Franchise after Jordan is just “We could’ve had some of the most amazing stars of the 21st century but look at us without them…”
I would argue the Bulls never were the greatest NBA franchise. The fell into Michael Jordan and were never able to win without him. Furthermore, the Kobe trade fell through because the Lakers wanted Deng and Kobe wouldn't accept the trade if Deng was traded.
I agree with this. Prior to the arrival of Jordan and Pippen, the Bulls themselves were just an “Ok” franchise. They had some decent playoff runs, but they never were seen as a top-tier team. Getting Jordan and Pippen really benefited the franchise in their legacy. And we can really see that today.
Saying that the main reason the recent Bulls have failed is mainly because of Lonzo?!?! CAP!!!!! You're giving homie way, way, wayyyyyyyy too much credit.
18:15 I know ppl don’t want to admit it but the Jimmy Zach trade actually looks better and better. Since he left Chicago, Jimmy had only played in 60 games in a season and single time. And while he 100% has his playoff moments, he also swings wildly the other way. And in the regular season, Zach gets more buckets and is more consistent having only NOT played 60 games in a single season over the same time frame and it was 58 games where he averaged 27 points a game. He played 77 last year. Thats what Chicago needed. An absolute work horse night in , night out. That was the right trade. Jim really was the issue. I say that as a bulls fan which I’m sure, tragically, you’ll cover next.
So you'd rather have a regular season volume shooter who may or may not even get you to the first round, vs someone who plays a bit less but has been in two finals and an ECF in four years?
I knew who Fred was because I watch Rondo but I never realized why the front office was so horrible when they were there and it seems like they were working against them. But in your video you were saying that they're looking for a reason to fire. Jimmy Butler which makes sense
With DeMar being our main scorer y’all have to realize that zo wasn’t the only reason why we went #1 We also had DeMar averaging 30 points a game which definitely helped we also had Alex Caruso who is a fuckin unit on defense those 3 were the biggest pieces and it really helped our franchise injuries just got too us and it’s sucks But I’m happy that lonzo can make a return soon at least that’s what he’s saying
It sucks to be a bulls fan😭 worst part of it is that the owner doesn’t care, we are still running it again with a core that is a play-in team at best, bad coaching and where the only guys that plays defense is Caruso. Hope they go in full rebuild mode so at least we can get a good pick, but knowing this franchise, they will screw everything again🤦🏽♂️
Great video dude. It’s about time someone spoke on the Bulls. As a supporter since the Rose glory days it’s just been disaster after disaster sometimes to an incredible degree that you think yeah we might’ve genuinely sold our souls for the Jordan era. Recently the tide has turned a bit on AK and ME too but the aggressiveness they showed in bringing Vooch as soon as they got hired showed they know what they’re doing. It’s depressing but imma continue supporting.
Greatest NBA franchise??? Seriously? Other than the Jerry Sloan days, the Jordan prime years of the late 80s till 1998, and a couple Derrick Rose seasons before his knee blew up, the Bulls were pure horseshit. Ask the 11 people that paid attention to them before Jordan was drafted.
Yea Gordon erupted in so many 4th quarters and he won them games because of this. I've been a lifelong Bulls fans as I grew up in Chicago. Since the Jordan era ended the Bulls have let so many good players go. All the ones named in the video but what wasn't shown is all the awful draft pics and the guys they passed on. The Rose ACL tear and trading Butler were the 2 killers of the team. If Rose doesn't get hurt I feel like the Bulls win a title between 2011-2015.
The Bulls are overrated as a franchise because of their sheer luck in drafting the best player to ever play the game and somehow they were competent enough not to screw it up. They were mediocre at best pre Jordan, they have been mediocre at best post Jordan. Come on, D Rose squad was never going anywhere. This organisation was not even able to teach the guy how to land and they also overplayed their starters like crazy. Rose being drafted by Chicago was his curse.
As a Bulls fan this hurts but it is the truth and I blame Jerry Reinsdorf that greedy owner for not making the Bulls championship contenders again. It's all his fault
the first go around it wasn't his making anyway he was lucky to land a seven up and orange juice kid by the name of Michael Jordan that guy made them contend after that his cheap ways got this franchise in lala land
The guy has too much ego. To say Phil could win 82 straight and a sixth championship but was still going to be let go after '98 was absolutely foolish.
He is the weakest link, and Bill Krause doesn't deserve quite as much shit as he gets for the destruction of the 90s dynasty. I guess all we can do is wait until there's a different owner.
And after that d rose injury thibs became my most hated cosch oat… great coach… but just never plays his bench that’s why they lost this year cuz they were so worn out and they all got injured… like why is rose in THE GAME UP 20 WITH 1:10
I don't agree that the Bulls are "the worst" NBA franchise when we look at the timeline between 1998 and now. I would rank the Hornets, Kings and Nets as worse.
One reason. The greatest of all time. The Bulls were nothing before him, they've been nothing after him. Seems silly that Krause was in such a hurry to see him off. The Bulls could've won maybe two more titles had Krause kept the band together. Instead he tore it down, built an outhouse in place of the mansion.
They could've at least gave them one more chance to defend their crown in 1999 and if they eventually lose to San Antonio, then im okay with that since the core is getting older and then they can do their rebuilding phase afterwards.
As a basketball fan, it sucks we never got to see the DeBallZach experiment in full force. Especially with Caruso, they had a lot of potential for at least a solid playoff run.

If the bulls had better training staff that could have helped prevent some of these injuries through better recovery along with the coaches not overplaying players they would probably have a ring or two.
CRazy how the Bulls had the second coming in Jordan in Butler and were too blind to see his work ethic and his winner's mentality
Ok I love Jimmy but let's not exagerate, the second coming of Jordan was Kobe, Butler averages around 25 6 6 which isn't exactly goat numbers

Not only them. I'm 100% sure that if had stayed in Philadelphia, making him the team's leader instead of Embiid and Simmons, Phily would now have a championship. Funny how Butler has made all his teams better (Chicago could have built around him; Minnesota only looked competitive with him; what I sadi about Phily).

I’ll never forget telling my Celtics fan friend in 2017 that the sweep was coming when we were up 2-0. If Rondo never got injured i think we could’ve gotten that series
The "get younger and athletic" quote after drafting a completely unathletic upperclassman wing Denzel Valentine really does sum up the GarPax era
being a chicago born and raised kid D rose was and will always be my favorite player i believe they have to be cursed in someway with the amount of unluck we have from being so great in the 90’s to the 2008 draft giving us hope the bulls always have been a team that could put teams together but the on and off management to injuries to teams just not reaching their potential it is depressing being a bulls fan but it’s always fun to watch we just need to make the right moves and have a little bit of luck and we can be right back on track
As a bulls fan, this cuts deep. We’ve been riding the carousel of mediocrity for awhile. That’s what happens when you sign and overpay three all stars that can’t play d
Disappointing you never fully talked about Jerry reindorf
chicago's franchise since the 2000s has just been stars being injured
I felt Roses knee tear. That was the end. We hoped everything would go back to how it was pre injury Rose, but we all know what happened.

Blaming Hoiberg and Billy Donovan is ridiculous
It’s even more ridiculous to call Billy Donovan a bad coach, blaming him for another part of this downfall when he has zero control over the players health. He ain’t no physician

Anyone else realize how the video quality went from 10/10 to 11/10
As a Chicago sports fan this is par for the course, they provide hope for a bit just to rip that hope right out of your heart in the worst way possible.

Im glad you talked about that Blatt timeout, no one ever talks about that. That drove me up the wall
He's even worse as owner of the White Sox.
0:48 BRO I SWEAR I HAVE SEEN THAT ANT IN A Kids Story book. Please can anyone tell me the name.

Rondo going down with the hand injury was the end of that year. He was playing great. They had the celtics on the ropes and were ready for the ko punch.
Bulls outside of Jordan's prime and a couple years of Rose's have been historically weak.

20:23 ain’t age well white playing good asf now
18:15 I know ppl don’t want to admit it but the Jimmy Zach trade actually looks better and better.
HAHAHAHAHA

Can you do Rockets downfall from their 95 championship to present day?
This is the longest bathroom break I've ever taken at work
It sucks to be a bulls fan😭 worst part of it is that the owner doesn’t care, we are still running it again with a core that is a play-in team at best, bad coaching and where the only guys that plays defense is Caruso.
Keep making great content Dylan!
Greatest NBA franchise??? Seriously? Other than the Jerry Sloan days, the Jordan prime years of the late 80s till 1998, and a couple Derrick Rose seasons before his knee blew up, the Bulls were pure horseshit. Ask the 11 people that paid attention to them before Jordan was drafted.
litterly just finished his raptors video then i see this, so hype!
This is super unrelated to the actual video. But thankyou for linking the music you used, been looking for that outro song for a solid few years💚
The Bulls messed up when they allowed Ben Gordon walk. He would have helped against the Heat. Then trading Jimmy sealed their fate.
If Rose doesn't get hurt I feel like the Bulls win a title between 2011-2015.
and constantly mismanaging their players leading them to have season ending/career altering injuries
The bulls medical staff needs to be investigated for how many players careers suffer from injuries, it’s too many for a coincidence
Nah fr, I can barely watch D Rose highlights sometimes because of those landings. I just flinch
Yeah he’s a cheap bastard
The guy has too much ego. To say Phil could win 82 straight and a sixth championship but was still going to be let go after '98 was absolutely foolish.
@@richborn6700 that was Jerry Krause that said that. He was a fucking idiot too
He is the weakest link, and Bill Krause doesn't deserve quite as much shit as he gets for the destruction of the 90s dynasty.

Coby White definitely not a dud right now. Dude been balling out this seaaon
I LIVED THROUGH THE FRED HOIBERG-JIM BOYLEN ERA AND LET ME TELL YOU IT WAS A DARK TIME
I don't agree that the Bulls are "the worst" NBA franchise when we look at the timeline between 1998 and now. I would rank the Hornets, Kings and Nets as worse.
Drafting Coby White “turned out to be a dud”??? Bro must be mental, Coby has been the only bright spot for the Bulls this whole year
Yea,everything in this vid was pretty spot on except for him calling Coby a dud 😂
Also didn’t mention how injuries ruined the current bulls roster. Lonzo, Caruso, and Lavine’s injuries hurt the team real bad
One reason. The greatest of all time. The Bulls were nothing before him, they've been nothing after him. Seems silly that Krause was in such a hurry to see him off. The Bulls could've won maybe two more titles had Krause kept the band together.
Instead he tore it down, built an outhouse in place of the mansion.
Dylan why i wasn't looking to cry today 😢😢😢 but i was hoping for a bulls video
They could've at least gave them one more chance to defend their crown in 1999 and if they eventually lose to San Antonio, then im okay with that since the core is getting older and then they can do their rebuilding phase afterwards.
Just shows how good Jordan was. Management was a mess when Jordan was there also.
Phil Jackson... without him, the Bulls would never have won anything.
One word. Reinsdorf.
